Code:
<div class="centerColumn" id="pageThree">
<h1>Return Authorization Request</h1>
<form name="returns" action="http://store.annron.com/index.php?main_page=returns&action=send" method="post">
<br class="clearBoth" />

<br class="clearBoth" />
</div>
See this post, I suggested a fix that fixed the issue:

I saw that after I posted the above. I'll incorporate the fix in the next update of the returns mod.

Re: Return Authorization Module (RMA)
If i change the default email address then all email are then sent to or from the RMA address what i would like it to do is just sent RMA request to a address I have set up just to receive RMA request.,
sort of how the contact us works with the drop down feature.
So i don't want to change my default e-mail address .

For this you should check your admin -> configuration -> e-mail options and see what you are using for your default e-mail address.
I'll look at the other issues and see what I can do.

OK I'll work on a quick fix for you.

Hope this is what you want.
I added a new e-mail define statement in:
includes/languages/english/YOUR_TEMPLATE/returns.php
define('RMA_EMAIL', '[email protected]'); change this to whatever you want.
and modified includes/modules/pages/returns/header_php.php to reflect the define statement.
unzip the file, change the YOUR_TEMPLATE folder to match your custom template name and upload the entire includes folder to your server.

Re: Return Authorization Module (RMA)
Using the new version, I am able to sent RMA with only name, email and comment. (test site:
http://store.clivekay-artist.com/ind...n_page=returns)
Also when I specify that ony loged on users can send this request, is it possible to disallow change of email address??
Thanks

Actually, more I think about it, if a member is logged in and submitting a request, I would like to disallow alteration of all the fields that were supplied from DB. They should be able to input ONLY new/additional fields like order Info and Reason/Comment.
Hope this makes sense...
Veronika
P.S. This should apply to all "forms" when loggin is required..

Other than correcting the "0" for action requested what information do you need to receive in addition to what is already there.

I tried submitting a request with only the name, e-mail and comment but the error checking kicked in and told me that I still needed to fill in the required fields.

Clyde, I do not require any additional info. My point was/is that some fields that we indicate are required to be filled in can be omitted and still the form will be submitted without giving an error message to input the missing fields.
My sencond inquiry/request is if it is possible (when I specify that RMA can be submitted ONLY when people are logged in) that the fields that are retrieved from the database are for "display ONLY" so that they cannot be altered and only additional fields not obtained from the database can/should be inputted.

I'll have to do some checking on this.
See my other post about the error checking when trying to submit requests.

I'm still checking on "freezing" the form fields after being populated from the database.

Kind-of along these same lines, I would like for the RMA email to be "From" the user requesting the RMA, not "From" the default shop email address. Any chances of getting that worked into this great mod?

While I'm adding items to the wish list, it would be great to have the RMA form pull in a customer's order history from the most x recent days. X being the number of days allowed for returns per the store's return policy. Then the customer could choose the order they need to return an item from, and selecting the order would in turn show the products from that order.
A pipe dream, I'm sure, but it would be a great addition.

Brief walk through?
I installed the mod without any problem.
I then placed a test order, and immedietly followed with a visit to:
/index.php?main_page=returns
I submitted the info, and got the 'request sent' message. The customer received the notification email.
What else is supposed to happen? Isn't the admin supposed to receive some sort of notification? Is there a 'log' in the admin that displays past return requests?
I read through this thread but couldn't find a basic 1-2-3 walkthrough. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks!

Yes you should have received an e-mail message which would have been sent to your store e-mail address.

Store admin emails are working for other store functions: new orders, new customers, etc. If that is working, the RMA emails should also properly go to the admin user, right?

Re: Return Authorization Module (RMA)
trying to restrict order numbers to numeric I have modified this line as follows:
Code:
if ($zc_validate_email and !empty($reason) and ($order_number !='' && $order_number == numeric)) {
$send_to_email = RMA_EMAIL;
$send_to_name = STORE_NAME;
and added this:
Code:
if(ereg('^[\s0-9]*$', $order_number) === false){
$error = true;
$messageStack->add('returns', 'Order Number: Enter only numbers (must correspond to your order number).');
}
It checks for numbers only fine, but when I enter numbers only, it does not send the form, but displays the filled in form again. What am I doing wrong?
Thanks
-
Re: Return Authorization Module (RMA)
Ah, now this works.. (for now anyway..)
if ($zc_validate_email and !empty($reason) and !empty($order_number) and is_numeric($order_number))

I just need to give this man a great deal of thanks and praise. He went above and beyond the call of duty to rectify a situation with his module that I created.....Did I say thanks? :D
But seriously my hats off to ya' Clyde for a job well done and I look forward to any upgrades or new mods that you may create.
Make sure you all thank him for his time, he deserves it.

I have one small remaining issue.. I have been through this ENTIRE thread, and I can't find a solution. The e-mail the admin receives is formatted strangely..

Just unzip the file and upload email_template_returns.html to the email folder on your server

This section of the e-mail is handled in includes/functions/functions_email.php
Code:
function email_collect_extra_info($from, $email_from, $login, $login_email, $login_phone='', $login_fax='')
What is the setting you have in admin -> configuration -> e-mail options -> E-Mail Linefeeds?

What's interesting is that regular e-mails sent through the contact us form formats the "Office Use Only" section correctly..

You will receive an e-mail for the request, but you will have to manually generate an RMA Number and notify the customer.

Not Yet. I've checked it on a couple of different sites but didn't see the problem your describing in the admin e-mails. (they all appeared to be formated correctly,
I'll keep checking though.

Re: Return Authorization Module (RMA)
Another option is something like this: http://www.clevershoppers.com/returns.html if you don't require customer to login before they can submit a return. We basically combined the pages (returns policy and returns form). If a customer is logged in already their information is pre-populated.

No RMA Admin email and no item data
Latest release installed: 2.2.1a
Issue is - no Admin email received and no item/order data being printed on customer email - only this
Dear John Smith
Thank you for your recent request.
Your request has been successfully submitted to StoreName. It will be
reviewed and you will receive an email with instructions on how to proceed.
If you have not received it within the next 48 hours, please contact us
before submitting your request again.
For help with our Returns Policy, please email the store-owner:
[email protected].
Note: This email address was given to us during a Return Authorization
Request. If you have a problem, please send an email to
[email protected].
I have also applied the /includes/modules/pages/returns/header.php and the email_template_returns.html - both patches you had supplied to other members who had raised a similar issue.
Where in Admin should one see RMAs coming in - because in the 2.2.1a distro there is no /admin code?
Thanks

The store owner should/would receive an e-mail at the store e-mail address indicated in admin -> configuration -> email options.
The e-mail would look something like this:
From: John Smith
Email: [email protected]
Phone Number: (xxx) xxx-xxxx
Address: xxxxxxxxxx
City: xxxxxxxxxxx
Post Code: xxxxxxxxxxx
State: xxxxxxxxxx
Order Number: 4567
Total Value: test value
Item Number: test item number
Item Name: test item name
Action Requested: Return
------------------------------------------------------
Reason: This is a test return authorization request. no action is required.

Version 2.2.2 of the Return Authorization Module is available in the downloads section.
This upgrade fixes an issue with the admin e-mail and also adds some "cosmetic" formatting.

ClydeJones,
Is there a solution to getting all of the vendor header information to all line up correctly to the left? See attached file. I have already removed and replaced Store Address & Phone info under ADMIN - CONFIGURATION - MY STORE info and checked mySQL database entry for problems in formating but still no luck? :frusty:
Thank you in advance for any advice,

based on the attached image it looks like you have a space in front of "luckdogbones.com".
double check admin -> configuration -> my store -> store address and phone
and make sure the line with the store name does not have a space at the beginning (first character).

The coding for the e-mail(s) (except for the content) is exactly the same as the e-mail from the contact us form, so I'm really at a loss to explain the formatting problem you describe.

Re: Return Authorization Module (RMA)
Having an issue with the Return email not getting sent:(
Installed latest ver (I think how do I check ver #?)
What happens when I go and test RMA form is I fill out info and hit send,
it then goes back to the top of the Returns page and no email is sent?
am getting other emails from pages so I know email is functioning.
Seen a few post with this issue and I thought the latest ver fixes this issue?

The only thing I changed before I posted issue was I set

so that you could test it without creating account.
I'll check this out and see if this makes a diff?

Re: Return Authorization Module (RMA)
Hi,
I have installed the mod and in fact, it works as it should. I'm very happy with it. However, as I do not use the State, I do not want the STATE to be required.
Can anyone tell me what I should change or remove from a file to have the STATE not required anymore?
Maby I have overlooked the answer somewhere on this forum, but I am looking for a solution for one and a half day now.
Thanks in advance.

Currently there is no switch to turn this on/off.
You'll need to edit the following files and change the references to "state" in each.
includes/languages/english/YOUR_TEMPLATE/returns.php
includes/modules/pages/returns
includes/templates/YOUR_TEMPLATE/templates/tpl_returns_default.php

Re: Return Authorization Module (RMA)
I hope I don't sound like an idiot - I'm new to ZenCart, and having done a zillion mods for phpBB and Joomla, I am used to installing mods without any read me files.
I found this RMA Mod: http://www.zen-cart.com/index.php?ma...roducts_id=433
I installed it, using the same structure in which it came and it installed smoothly, and works great with one small hitch. :lookaroun When someone completes the RMA Form the email that comes thru to me only includes the customer's name, order number, item number and amount. The other fields are blank. It does dispatch the appropriate emails to the customer and to the admin though. You can see it in action on my site at: hxxp://www.scrapbooksuppliesdirect.com/shopping (url is munged - change x's to t's).
I hope this post is of help to you all and maybe getting someone to this point you can get me to the finish line. :smile:

The admin e-mail you receive should look similar to this one:
From: Customer Name
Email: [email protected]
Phone Number: 555-555-6789
Address: address
City: city
Post Code: zipcode
State: state
Order Number: 1234
Total Value: $5.00
Item Number: 5678
Item Name: Test Item
Action Requested: Return
------------------------------------------------------
Reason: Test Item return request.
------------------------------------------------------
I also noticed that when logged in and you go to the return authorization page the customer information fields are not automatically filled inas they should be.
Are using the latest version 2.2.2?

AHH! I see where my problem and confusion is coming from! On the page where I got the download from, the link at the top of the page must go to the older version, whereas the newest version (the 2.2 that you were talking about) is down a bit lower. I just assumed that the link at the top right where it says "download now" is the most current. Will try to fix it right now and see where it takes me.
Thanks for your input on it! Am going to leave my original reply (before I found the err of my ways :wink:) in case anyone else has done the same thing.
Many thanks!!
Jeanne
I noticed this (that the fields were not pre-populated) but thought it was because I haven't processed any orders yet. Oh goodness! This really concerns me.
And... The email (phew!) - this is what it looks like (I was actually going to make a post to see if anyone knew how to customize it a bit so it would be easier to read, so thank you for posting the sample):
From: Email: sales1 @ scrapbookxsuppliesxdirect.com Phone Number: Address: City: Post Code: State: Order Number: 12345 Total Value: Item Number: Item Name: Action Requested: Refund ------------------------------------------------------ Reason: dafadsfdsfs ------------------------------------------------------ Office Use Only: From: Email: sales1 @ scrapbookxsuppliesxdirect.com IP Address: 70.216.85.107 - 70.216.85.107 Host Address: 107.sub-70-216-85.myvzw.com Date and Time: Mon Jun 16 2008 12:08:47 MDT
So, I suppose I have a problem here then - I thought I was good to go on it. It is version 1.3.6
????
