Re: Chemo's Ultimate URL's
I am not sure how many of you know this is going on. If you want to see the next version of this mod please go to https://www.fundable.org/groupactions/zencart-seo-urls and speak with your money.
All the questions about what's going to be in the next release are great but it wont happen unless enough of us pledge money. So please go to the above url and pledge.
Thanks!

from the sound sof things though - reading through the posts - its can be turned off simply? there is heaps in zen cart I would not use but it doesn't stop me using zen cart itself - just turn it off?
Re: Chemo's Ultimate URL's
It looks like the 404 header code is already there in 1.3.5, is that correct?
Thanks,

Re: Chemo's Ultimate URL's
I just installed Ultimate URL's for the first time on a fresh new live shop http://www.xptrading.com/. Does this contribution needs to be installed fresh with Zencart or can I upload the files? Cause I uploaded the files and I get 404 errors.
Also are we suppose to name the htaccess file ".htaccess" or "htaccess"? the file is supposed to be located in the parent directory right?
When htacess-sample is named htaccess I get the following error:
The requested URL /2003-lincoln-navigator-w-jts-03-p-1.html was not found on this server.
Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request. ]
And when htacess-sample is named .htaccess I get:
Not Found
The requested URL /www.xptrading.com/index.php was not found on this server.
Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.
I searched the threads but can't seem to find an answer to get this fixed. I can load the mainpage fine, but when I click on a product it says that.
Are we suppose to name the htaccess file ".htaccess" or "htaccess"? And for /shop/ we put in the full URL of the website correct? Like /www.shop.com/
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
Re: Chemo's Ultimate URL's
Blitz49,
You need to read the 'readme' slowly and carefully. You can't just upload the files to get this mod to work. There are modifications needed to make it work. First of which, notice when you click on a link you get this error:
he requested URL /shop/index.php
that is because you need to remove the shop/ from your .htaccess file (yes, with the period) so the rewrite base is only /.
Good luck
Re: Chemo's Ultimate URL's
No kidding I read this carefully, but there are a lot of different problems and solutions. This is the first contribution I had to read like 5 times, I can't believe it was that easy. Thanks voltage it worked like a charm.
Re: Chemo's Ultimate URL's
I installed this mod on the site I currently am using and it worked fantastically. I have decided to move the site to a new domain and everything works fine when the SEO urls are off. When I turn them on, the products work fine, but everything else: EZpages, shopping cart...all non-product related links are now broken.
Any ideas on how to fix this? Seems like it should be a simple fix, but I cannot for the life of me figure out what it might be.

Re: Chemo's Ultimate URL's
Nevermind! Somehow putting the same .htaccess file in the same place fixed it!

Re: Chemo's Ultimate URL's
Sweet! Glad to hear it. What I was going to suggest to Doodlebuckets is clear the seo url cache, but it appears you have it working. :)
If you guys enjoy this mod, consider contributing to the pot to have it fixed / reworked. I really enjoy this mod, but it does have its limitations. For example, it does not currently handle custom product types correctly.
