Problems with "file exists", etc.
The only way I have found to overcome this is:
1. Clear cache in IH2.
2. Go to the product page and install the small default image and update.
3. Go back to IH2 and open product - and your default image should be there. Edit the other images for that product.
Hi there,
I recently installed IH and its working fine, however my images for the mouseovereffect seem to popup a little random. I would really like them to stick to the pointer whn its held over the small image. Is there a way to fix this?

I am also using the greatest template I have found in ages Cherry Zen. Its so pretty, and matches my logo perfect :clap:

I just installed IH2 and everything seems to work fine except that when you click on the Image to check a product and add to cart, it displays but with the FOLLOWING Error below the Image:

I have (re)installed zen so I am talking about a completely original version without any adaptions. I added three products, installed the image handler and everything works fine.
But...: I would like to increase the size of the images that appear when you hover over the smal picture in the product listing. I thought I could do so by increasing the size of the medium pictures
So I changed the value for both
"Product Info - Image Width" and
"Product Info - Image Heigth."
If I do so, eveything in Firefox still works fine with indeed larger images, but in Internet Explorer I get an error on the page and the hovering images are not shown anymore.
Can somebody please tell me what I am doing wrong?

I've installed Image Handler 2 on my Zen Cart 1.3.8 and am not able to get the Watermark feature to work. Also, on the home page and category pages, I do get a zooming effect (large image from small, not a medium image). On the product pages, I get a medium image and am able to click to view a large image in a new window. The watermarks are not working on any of my images, though I do have them installed, per the original README file.
When I go to Tools>Image Handler 2>Preview, I get this error message (several times):

I've been through the manual many times and scoured the Image Handler2 thread.
Any suggestions would be wonderful...
I am confused and now really frustrated. I thought that I was installing Image Handler tested for use, for my version 1.3.xx. I had issues and since there were no real instructions included with the module, other than copy files into appropriate folders, and merge the ones that duplicated, I did my best to do so, but even with care, I seemed to have missed something ?
I then redownloaded to make sure that I had a good copy, then recopied all of the files a second time, trying to verify my work and then noticed some differences between the 1st and 2nd attempt. It wasn't until I was scrolling through the Contrib area, that I noticed TWO versions, identically named, IH2, but one was for the 1.2.xx series, the other for the 1.3.xx series ? So now I don't know if I had the failure based on installing the earlier version, or the later version ? I reversed the install order on #2 and I am still getting 'IH This and Thats' showing in the Admin/Config/Images area ?
If anything, can someone help me to finish stripping out the remaining IH so that I can go on, without reloading ZC ? If not, can some one tell the two authors of IH2, to rename their contribs to be a little more clearer or differently, other than just a version number that ZC references in their listings ?

What's really upsetting is alot of the files have duplicate file dates, so even that makes it even harder to figure out, which ones get weeded out ?

If you do use the backup and reinstall the module.
2.If you dont check what files is included in 1.2 version as well 1.3 version and move them out from ZC. Do not delete incase you still need them for some reason.
NOTE you might also need to remove 1.2 and 1.3 data from database. I presume 1.2 and 1.3 IH modules has apropriate uninstall sql scripts.
After this you reinstall the module.
After this if you are unlucky you lost som merged file and some other modules stop working.
Well then you need to check the other modules install instruction what code need to be added.
Note: if you have no backup remember to backup next time.:wink:

I had some issues with IH2 and had to go back and reverse install IH2. I found that I may have initially installed the earlier version intended for 1.2.xx, and then over wrote it with the more recent version for 1.3.xx. After comparing all of the files in the two contribs, I noticed that there was an equivelant IH series of lines floating in the /Admin/Configuration/Images/ area after all was said and done, with all images fully crippled from any showing on any area of the test site. At this point, I took the version that was just showing 'place holders' and reloaded IH2 for 1.3.xx.. I appologize to you, to the authors of each contrib that I have scrutinized and humbly will start over again.. or at least two or three backups back.
Right now, even though the hover is not working and I remember having to dig the resolution out for that, when I select a product, only the header appears, until I hit refresh again to get the side boxes and main page to appear.. I'll return, a stronger Zenner, soon.

Just have to say i love the mod but i recently had to debug a problem where large res images where causing the product listing page to be empty.
after following the flow for a long time with echo statements it came down to that the following function was crashing: (bmz_image_handler.class.php)
$image = @imagecreatefromjpeg($src_name);
so i found this fix:
ini_set('memory_limit', '50M');
$image = @imagecreatefromjpeg($src_name);
perhaps this can be coded into the next release ???

HELLO after searching then reading the last 40 pages, i havent been able to find a fix for my problem....
ive allready installed about 8 mods so far and none have caused a problem so far, but IH2 seems to have a problem displaying medium images on mouse over, the medium images never show up.....
all the other mods havent changed any of the files that IH2 effected, and ive allready restored back to a previous backup and tried re-installing IH2 and still no luck.....

also now ive downloaded firefox, i can confirm that it doesnt work in IE7 firefox 3.0 or chrome
everything else has been so easy uptill this point.....
after turning back 60 pages, and searching for the most coment tips (by tophand, thx :D ) i found i had to upload 'jscript_imagehover.js' to both the template default & my template folders, dont know why as the readme.txt didnt mention it it just said upload and it should be good.....Quote:

I googled it and read some forum posts, and tried some things and check some things but I can't get this working.
I could have sworn when I originally installed this it worked? I just reinstalled it and it still doesn't work.
I checked to make sure both the bmz cache and images folder are writable and that my image names don't have spaces or odd characters in them.
I can see that images are being properly uploaded into the images folder when I try to add an additional image with IH2 but I get the error above when I upload even though I see the new image is in the images folder.
Strange thing too is that the additional image doesn't show up on the products detail page like it should, it seems like I have multiple issues

Hello there i seen to have some issue with getting the image handler to work :-( my hover images dont work and I am not sure if its actually spliting my images into 3 different sizes or not. I already had some produtcts uploaded on my site so i thought maybe it only works on freshly created products. So i created the new product and it still doesnt work. Please let me know what i'm doing wrong here!

You could also edit line 78 of includes/functions/extra_functions/functions_bmz_image_handler.php (line number may be different for you) to pass an empty string for alt:
This way you don't have to change a lot of zen_image() calls, and you're done with one simple code change. However, the alt tag will be missing in each and every image.Code:return array($src, '', intval($width), intval($height), $parameters);
I wouldn't suggest editing the includes/functions/html_output.php file since it's a core file and more likely to change in new versions of Zen-Cart and Image Handler than functions_bmz_image_handler.php.

i think i fixed my problem. i think i was missing the javascript file and i also turned off the image hot zone as the hover images would only work if you centered the mouse on the hotzone directly, not the entire image.Quote:

Anyway, I just noticed an issue with IE7: When I click on a medium image on a product description page, the window that opens to display the large image is not properly sized---it's only 100px high.
It works flawlessly in FF3.

I fix it!!! Stupid me: it was just the option in
Configuration>Images>IH resize images... it was "no"... so it was easy... once I found it!
Try to check this one too because a lot of people seem to loose this nice effect just because they just play with some options that don't really know [see my case]
And about the problem with the additional images: the swap was caused by a stupid *.js that I forgot there from previous tries... so... again, my fault! Hi hi!!
I would like if comebody can tell me how can I make the additional images to be seen on the product info page and if I can make them hover... on top of everything... I would like to put my category description in the product info page and to take of the name of the category, to just let there the image...
Anyone?

Regarding question (1), I am getting closer to the solution. Because I am using the Hebrew language i need to use the Quote Mark (") in the header some times. The problem occurs only for the products with quote mark. I wonder how I change it in the JavaScript code so it won't make a difference.

HAHA! I made it. I found the solution for (1). :clap:
The function gettrail() uses the (') sign to display the image alt where it should use the (") sign. I.E The function should use the following code:

Instead of:

I thought it was a template error and so I switched to "Cherry zen" template and still get the same error. I have searched the developers tool kit to where I can locate that line of code for correction.
Is it with IH2 or I need to adjust some code to avoid seeing the message displayed.
I see that others have had trouble getting additional images working, as am I. I cannot find any solutions in the thread however. Here are a couple of product pages that should be showing additional images:

I can see the additional images in IH2. I just reuploaded all of the IH2 files to my server in case I had missed something, no change.

I have a problem with the hover effect in IE6 and IE7 and in Opera. The Firefox version 2 and 3 and also Safari is working well with the hover on the category-pages. But IE only hovers on the product info pages, not on the category or featured products. I stared quite a long time at the code, but cannot find what causes this...

Hi Every Body......
I have installed IH2 on my website and I am having a problem in it.
1. When we do mouseover on an image which is on the bottom half of the window, the status bar shows "Error on Page" in IE browser.
Where as Google Chrome shows all the zoomed images on the top of the website which are not visible if the page is long.
In Firefox it is working absolutely fine.
2. In the Admin Section when I click "Preview" the PNG images doesn't show up anything. Some times they show Error message in line 646.
I have seen my Servers info, there PNG was enabled.
I have also tried by reinstalling as well as restoring all the files.
Please solve my problem, I am ready to pay for this.

One of my clients is using Image Handler on their site (and has been quite happily for a couple of years).
Recently they added some new items to their shop and images for the new items and some of their existing items, became mixed up. Old items with new images, some images appearing on multiple items. All very random.
Has anyone else had this happening to them?
Any ideas would be great.

There is only one problem. I am able to see watermarking on medium size image that gets howered up. But Watermarking does not appar on large size additional images that i add to the product. :(
I dont find any change from this file. Still hower images are far away from my small images.

can somebody check www.afrosupermarket.com and see why the check out page is messed up ? I am using cherry Zen and IH2. Which of the two is causing the error? Try Checking out a product.

What happens when you uninstall IH?
How does image handler know what images are loaded against each product.
Why I'm asking is that I'm using SQL to do an update of the "products.products_image" field with the name of the products image. Ideally I want to be able to do the same thing with the medium and large files, but I can't see a table that holds the names anywhere.
I'm setting up my store and finding loading individual images a little painful. I'm quite comfortable with SQL so if it's holding the info in a database table it will save me hours.

I understand that it resizes on the fly. In IH you have the option of loading 3 files. Default, medium and large. The default image location is listed in the the products table.Quote:

I'm not having much luck with IH2, zencart 1.3.8 and the zj_silver template.
IH2 falls over on the zoom when the zj_silver template is invoked. And no hover either.

I've been searching the forums, however, I cannot find anyone with this issue.
I am running
Zen Cart 1.3.8a
Image Handler 2.0_for_137
When I install Image handler, the administrator side looks great. However, when I go to the main page of the online catalog...the main column and footer do not show. I do see the left hand column, however the main column is missing.
Looking at the html source code for the website shows that no html is sent to the browser after displaying the left column.
When I go back into the administrator panel and uninstall Image handler, the columns come back.
I am pretty sure that I installed everything correctly, but did I miss something here? Do I have to copy files to multiple locations? Any insight is helpful!

ok i installed imagehandler2 on my test site, and it does display watermarked image but does not make the image pop out.

from memory u have to turn on popups on images & set were the hover is, my website ive set hover to anywhere on the images, & removed the + hover watermark in the conrers

I've been working on this for a while and have not found a fix. I tried to find a bug using the file enable_error_logging.php, however, I did not find anything.
I have set all my images to 100 x 80 and still no luck. I also found out that when I turn off IH resize images, (under configuration->images) everything renders correctly.

Okay, I switched to classic template and the problem goes away. What could be causing this to happen.

On hover the image appear above the site instead of near the cursor. It actually pushes the site down about 15em.

I have found a bug between two modules.
I have installed the news module with the news summary on main page.
I also have Image handler 2.

My test platform is : http://www.plant-names.info
My problem is that the image in the news summary, as see on the live website, is not aligned on the right and text is under the image instead of starting on the left and continuing below. You can see a clean zencart with only news summary on http://www.pepperbasket.com
So, I have played on plant-names.info and I have removed all files pertaining to image handler, the news summary image was back to normal, but I had some browsing problem and viewing product specific page.
Ultimatly I would prefer to have both module installed, but If I have to remove one, I would remove image handler.
Any help ?
