I got this from the W3C CSS Validator
Code:
138 * html #nw Value Error : width Parse Error expression((d=document.compatMode=="CSS1Compat" ? document.documentElement : document.body) && (d.clientWidth > 1300? "1300px" : d.clientWidth > 1048? "80%" : d.clientWidth 1048? "1000px" : "80%"))
Here is the code from stylesheet.
Code:
{
width:expression((d=document.compatMode=="CSS1Compat" ? document.documentElement : document.body) && (d.clientWidth > 1300? "1300px" : d.clientWidth > 1048? "80%" : d.clientWidth < 1048? "1000px" : "80%")); /* this prevents the site from getting smaller than 1000px or wider than 1300px in IE */
}
With the new upgrades to zen cart wonder if this is throwing everything off anyone know the correct fix for that line. Other then that css validates perfectly. I do have the back ground changed to white for now.

update I comminted out the code below site validates as proper css but still have the background issue. those lines are not needed any more with new versions of ie and firefox.

Re: Cherry Zen Template Support Thread
Where in the .css would I change the font size for just my product listing under my left "Categories" column heading?
I've checked the .css but it isn't clear where I might do that. Some of my product categories are a little lengthy and they drop down to the next line along with the product count in that category.
I could change my column width (which I've done previously already and wouldn't want it any wider than it already is) or shorten my product category titles but would rather retain them.
My thought is a slightly smaller font may adjust each product title and keep each on their own product category line. Not all of my product category listings do this and it isn't readily apparent without going through all the product categories.
Here's a screenshot of what's happening:
Attachment 7705
I'm sure it's an easy fix I've obviously overlooked in the .css.
Thanks for any help with this...

Do you have the Firebug plugin installed? You can "Inspect Element" and look at the styles that apply to it. Google Chrome, Apple Safari and Opera all have something similar.
BTW I get the 403 Forbidden error when I go to that link.

White space on main page & right site shadow
Hi, I hope somebody can help me with this,
1.I've managed to make the homepage to show no sideboxes and put a large image, but there is a white space between the image and the top menu, tried to modify css but nothing happened.
2.My right site has no shadow, looks like my site is to big for it? I try to change the site width, but nothing happened.
Thank you in advance for any advices.

Re: Cherry Zen Template Support Thread
Very surprised to see this thread is still active!! I'm a newbie to zen cart, and just installed this cherry zen template couple days ago. Have to say, this is a superb template! I especially like the idea of listing products in columns :)
My site is still under construction, just came across some problems here when trying to get things organized.
http://www.yucci-style.com/
1) I have english and chiese simplified languages installed on the zen cart. When i switch to english language, and back to chinese language again (which brings me to link http://www.yucci-style.com/index.php...ex&language=gb), the whole page is blank. But it works totally fine if i access through just main site yucci-style.com. Would it be i accidentally changed the encoding / CHMOD properties for one of the language folder/files?
2) As you can see, logo and banner are in ... very awkward positions.... How can i get logo and banner to lay side by side, nicely under the "home"+"log in" tabs? And because this template is a "fluid" width site, how do i determine the size of the banner? And what size would the banner normally be?
3) Right under the banner, there are 2 categories named "Tang Tang Cross Stitch" "Venas Cross Stitch", I turned the "display categories on main page" off already, but it's still there... anyway can get ride of it? does it need to be editted in php files?
Thanks a lot!!!

Re: Cherry Zen Template Support Thread
Hi,
I just picked up a rebuild on a store for a new client and need some help ( first off the credits will be going back in for Jade if someone can give me the original footer code please.
2nd part if you look at this page http://thediabloshop.com/index.php?m...&products_id=2
I need the product description and attribute box to be wider I have tried everything and it doesn't work (everything to my limited knowledge). Read through all pages here and nothing helped me. maybe I have been staring at it too long but if someone could guide me in the right direction I'd appreciate it.
Thanks Clay

Re: Cherry Zen Template Support Thread
I got it to be wider, but honestly don't know what I did. i was playing around in the tpl_product_info_display.php file. But they still don't align properly and well the customer wants it to, however if I could remove the lines I would do that too :-)
-
Re: Cherry Zen Template Support Thread
I use that template and I am pretty sure that you only need to make some changes in the stylesheet.css file for the widths and alignment. As for Jade's credit you can just download the template from the free mods section and get all of the original code that you want.

Re: Cherry Zen Template Support Thread
Here is what the problem is... Sorry that I can't quite put my finger on what is wrong...
Attribute images- I have a dropdown box to select the color and sample colors as attribute images. I'd like to have the 4 color choices lined up horizontally under the dropdown box. When I switch to the classic template- I get that- perfect actually! However, I'm using the Cherry Zen template and I have 2 colors on one line- next to the dropdown box and 2 underneath. There's a bunch of space between them (I don't need that) and I just can't get them to go where I need them to be. I've compared files for quite some time- checked the css and I'm just not seeing what the difference is.
You can take a look at carolinaid (dot)com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=33_35_40_84&products_id=9357
Any thoughts are welcome!

From http://shuruba.com/zencart/includes/...tylesheet.css:
Code:
#tagline {
font-size:1.1em;
text-align:center;
padding:25px 8px 35px;
}
If you comment out the "padding" line the large gap will disappear. If you add a tagline to your site, it may be necessary to uncomment the line and adjust the values - so don't delete the line, just comment it:
Code:
/* padding:25px 8px 35px;*/

Re: Cherry Zen Template Support Thread
Hi,
I must say, I love the ease of use with this template, even the CSS is done in such a way that even if you don't CSS in full, you catch quickly as everything is explained.
However, bumped my head. Installed the new Zen Cart version 1.3.9, everything works really well. However, I need my side menu (I only have left sideboxes) white text on black background. I set a:link as white, however this has now changed ALL links to white! I checked but cannot see how to only make the links for the sideboxes white (to be on the black background), and the other links in my site (product name on product listing page, e-mail addresses, etc.) another colour. Can anyone help?
Just for info, found this on the stylesheet.css, not sure if I am heading in the wrong direction here (chnage dthe cvolours but does not seem to work):
h3.leftBoxHeading, h3.rightBoxHeading {
color:#FFFFFF; /* right and left box heading color */
font-weight:bold;
}
.leftBoxHeading a, .rightBoxHeading a {
color:#FFFFFF; /* right and left box LINK heading color */
font-weight:bold;
}
.leftBoxHeading a:hover, .rightBoxHeading a:hover {
color:#E8E9E9; /* right and left box LINK heading color when hovered over*/

Change this line
Code:
define('TEXT_PRODUCT_MANUFACTURER', 'Manufactured by: ');
in includes/languages/english/product_info.php and includes/languages/english/product_free_shipping_info.php.
If you are displaying other languages on your site you will have to change the other language files too.
PS The string is also in includes/languages/english/document_general_info.php and includes/languages/english/document_product_info.php. You may not need to change these.

I think that you can achieve this by changing "includes/templates/cherry_zen/css/stylesheet.css - look for #cartAdd.
Change the width to 100px and comment out the margin and float lines:
Code:
#cartAdd {
width:100px; /* Changed from 125px */
text-align:center;
/*margin:10px auto;*/
/*float:right;*/
padding-right:10px;
}

Dear Cherry Zenners
Microsoft IE is sending me crazy, and I'm writing to ask for help to keep my sanity.
For some reason the "navMain" bar on my site is located correctly in both Firefox and Safari, but is way over to the right in IE. I've read the forum, played with the CSS and used www.firebugger.com - all without success.
Is anyone familiar with this problem?
My test site (identical problem to the production site) is test.possumbooks.com.au
Thanks very much in advance for any help.

So while it's great to know it works on 8, unfortunately according to http://www.netmarketshare.com/browse...e.aspx?qprid=3 27% of the world still uses IE6 and IE7, which don't work. In IE the site neatly fills the screen
on Firefox it is smaller than the screen width
Being a rank amateur, I am hesitant to play around with width's etc but would rather be guided by some-one who knows what they are doing.

Sub Categories font color
I would have thought this was easy but I can not find any info on how to change the color of the sub category. I looked in my stylesheet.css but all I can find is this :
ody {
color:#000; /* main site font color*/
}
a:link {
color:#4f4f4f; /* main site links color */
text-decoration:none;
}
a:visited {
text-decoration:none; /* color of links after customer has visited them */
color:#313131;
}
a:hover {
color:#000; /* color when links are hovered over */
text-decoration:none;
}
h3.leftBoxHeading, h3.rightBoxHeading {
color:#fff; /* right and left box heading color */
}
.leftBoxHeading a, .rightBoxHeading a {
color:#fff; /* right and left box LINK heading color */
}
.leftBoxHeading a:hover, .rightBoxHeading a:hover {
color:#E8E9E9; /* right and left box LINK heading color when hovered over*/
}
#navMain a span {
color:#fff; /* color of header links, HOME, LOGIN, MY ACCOUNT, etc. */
}
#navMain a:hover span {
color:#fff; /* color of header links, HOME, LOGIN, MY ACCOUNT, etc. when hovered over */
}
#tagline {
color:#333; /* tagline text color */
}
#productPrices {
color:#9F1C00; /* color of price */
}
.productSpecialPrice, .productSalePrice, .productSpecialPriceSale, .productPriceDiscount, .alert {
color:#990000; /* color of sale prices and alerts */
}
.messageStackWarning, .messageStackError {
color:#fff; /* color of warning message text */
}
None of the above seems to be what I need to change. Is that correct?
So is it possible to have a Category : Oneida in teal and the sub categories in another color.
thanks

Checkout this thread and see if maybe it can help you.
http://www.zen-cart.com/forum/showth...color+category
Or checkout the CSS Flyout Menu. You can change the color of categories and subs to whatever you want it to be. I have this on my site.

I am looking into the flyout menu. The readme file is causing me to wonder what to do next. I unzipped the file copied the Includes to my server, and that is all it says to do. I can't find anything in my admin, so I guess a step is missing somewhere.

I know this thread is for Cherry Zen Template sorry.
You install it then go to tools/layout boxes to turn it on. Make sure you turn off the original sideboxes/categories.php. Go to the CSS Flyout css file and set it up like you want it to display.

Re: Cherry Zen Template Support Thread
Hi guys. We've been using CZ for a while now and love it. But there are a few things that are buggy that we need to fix. I've been using the search function here, but this thread is so long, and I'm not finding exactly what I'm looking for.... Here goes.
1 - I changed the background color of our Cherry Zen template to #666666. This caused a problem with the Estimate Shipping pop up window and is now hard to read. Is it possible to give this window its own color value?
2 - Changing this background color made the text in the footer hard to read. Is it possible to change the color of the text and text links in the footer, without changing colors elsewhere in the layout?
3 - The sidebox titles on the right side columns shift to the right in IE. I did see something about making sure the column widths are at 150 pixels, which they are, so thats not the problem.
Any advice is appreciated, please see the attached files for further examples...

I can answer your first problem real quick. Add this at the bottom of your stylesheet.css. I don't have time to answer the other question at this time. I will in a little while if I am back on tonight.

Try this. Put this at the bottom of your css style-sheet
Change it to whatever color you want it to be.
Quote:
#siteinfoLegal {
background:black;
color:white;
}
you can also add the following to fix the issue with links and your IP address block .
Quote:
#siteinfoIP {
background:black;
color:white;
}
#siteinfoLegal a:link {
color:YOUR CHOICE OF COLOR HERE ;
}

I don't see any problems with it in Firefox, IE8, or Google Chrome.
Clear your browser cache then re-check it. Looks OK to me.

Re: Cherry Zen Template Support Thread
Hi, I hope this hasn't been aswered before, I have read many of the posts but not all.
New to Zen and been working on another template (Black-Purple) and then came across Cherry.
I have it installed and colour theamed to my liking but I have two issues.
The first is: The box around the attributes is not wide enough and some of my "text" attributes break out to the right. Also an attribute image (font list) overlaps on the right.
Is there any way of making this attribute box larger or scaleable?
Second is something I have loaded earlier. IE8 when my mouse curser goes over any images (side box and new for this month) the whole page drops down in the browser, also hovering over images makes the page jump up and down slightly.
I know it has to be an add-on as it is stable on my work laptop.
I am currently developing on a local server so cannot give a URL.
Would hate to start over!

Re: Cherry Zen Template Support Thread
Hello,
I would like to change my navigational menu of my website. I would like a sprite menu and other sprite graphics. Below I have the links and code from another forum but it is exactly what I would like to do. I can not find where to place the html code for my main page. I know the "names" ie #header and #mainmenu are different or need to be changed. I did do alot of searching this and other Zen cart forum posts. I didn't want to "just"change core files. I know that is a no no. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
My site is www.eastcoastcaps.net zencart v1.39b cherry zen
I am looking to make a navigation menu similar to the following:
http://www.coremediadesign.co.uk/web...ia_design.html
This is the sprite image they use.
http://img819.imageshack.us/img819/8185/menuo.png
CSS
Code:
Code:
#header {
width:100%;
height: 150px;
background: black;
padding:0;
margin:0;
}
#mainMenu {
list-style:none;
overflow:hidden;
width:980px;
margin:0 auto;
}
#mainMenu li {
display:inline;
}
#mainMenu a {
float:left;
width:137px;
padding:16px 0;
text-align:center;
font:normal 14px/17px arial,helvetica,sans-serif;
background:url(images/menuo.png) 0 0 no-repeat;
}
#mainMenu a:active,
#mainMenu a:focus,
#mainMenu a:hover {
background-position:0 -49px;
}
#mainMenu .current a {
background-position:0 -98px;
}
HTML
Code:
HTML Code:
<div id="header">
<div style="height: 101px"> </div>
<ul id="mainMenu">
<li class="current"><a href="#">Tab 1</a></li>
<li><a href="#">Tab 2</a></li>

<li><a href="#">Tab 5</a></li>
<li><a href="#">Tab 6</a></li>
<li><a href="#">Tab 7</a></li>
</ul>
</div>[PHP][/PHP]

Hello,
I've done a little more research. Since this post http://www.zen-cart.com/forum/showpo...postcount=3073 I do still have that question unanswered.
I would like to know if I could use the CSS Horizontal Drop Down Menu addon is for v1.3.8 then change the colors for the menu to image sprites. Also move the whole menu to the top like it is currently on my cherry zen v1.39b.
In the addon it states in the readme file:
Add to the includes/templates/YOUR_TEMPLATE/common/tpl_header.php
"add this to your header where you'd like the css menu to appear:
HTML Code:
<!--bof-drop down menu display-->
<?php require($template->get_template_dir('tpl_drop_menu.php',DIR_WS_TEMPLATE, $current_page_base,'common'). '/tpl_drop_menu.php');?>
<!--eof-drop down menu display-->
<div class="clearBoth"></div>
"
I would like to do that BUT I don't know "what" I need to remove and exactly where to place this code so that it appears at the very to like my current navigational menu resides.
The question from my previous post and this one I know are apples and oranges. I thank you for your time.

Re: Cherry Zen Template Support Thread
Hey Jettrue.
I use your template and I encountered a little problem with locales.
When I use default english locale, the image FREE SHIPPING in product info page shows up.
When I change the local to another, other language buttons show up (which is ok), but instead of FREE Shipping button it displays FREE SHIPPING text.
I don't need the button, but why it shows FREE SHIPPINg instead of free shipping text transalted to my locale? Where can I find this to setup my own text?
I searched everywhere and couldn't find this.

Re: Issue with IE6 display
I had this problem and couldn't figure it out. Turns out, when you set the sidebox size in admin you must include the "px" and not just type in the size -> do this 150px -> not 150.

Re: Cherry Zen Template Support Thread
Hello,
I am stuck on a problem I can't seem to fix or find any information on. I have the following displayed on my checkout pages, and for the life of me, I can't fix.
TEXT_ORDER_STEP1 TEXT_ORDER_STEP2 TEXT_ORDER_STEP3 TEXT_ORDER_STEP4
Also, the ORDER_STEPS_IMAGE_ALT is missing.
I have tried changing the "echo" statements in the TPL_PHP files, but when I do that and refresh my browser, the whole page disappears.
Thank you in advance for any assistance.

Make sure you you have renamed all the cherry_zen folders to your_custom folder name. Looks like you have missed includes/languages/english/extra_definitions/your_template/order_steps_defines.php file or one of the other files. It's hard to figure out without a link to your site.

Countrycharm - thank you for your response! I will check my folder structure to see if there is anything amiss. If I read your response correctly, it would appear I should have no "cherry_zen" folders anywhere under my custom directory, correct?

That would be correct. If you are using a custom directory then cherry_zen should be the name of your custom directory when uploading.

Re: Cherry Zen Template Support Thread
I am attempting to combine my background images into CSS Sprites, and Google Page Speed gives me the following recommendations:
The following images served from yourdomain.com should be combined into as few images as possible using CSS sprites.
* /includes/templates/cherry_zen/images/delim_h.gif
*/includes/templates/cherry_zen/images/delim_v.gif
*/includes/templates/cherry_zen/images/orange/header.gif
* /includes/templates/cherry_zen/images/orange/sideboxbg.gif
* /includes/templates/cherry_zen/images/orange/tableftE.gif
* /includes/templates/cherry_zen/images/rounded-search-input.gif
* /includes/templates/cherry_zen/images/shadow_e.png
* /includes/templates/cherry_zen/images/shadow_n.png
* /includes/templates/cherry_zen/images/shadow_ne.png
* /includes/templates/cherry_zen/images/shadow_nw.png
* /includes/templates/cherry_zen/images/shadow_s.png
* /includes/templates/cherry_zen/images/shadow_se.png
* /includes/templates/cherry_zen/images/shadow_sw.png
* /includes/templates/cherry_zen/images/shadow_w.png
Does anybody know the proper code to implement for this?

Not all images can be combined into a sprite - you will have examine each image and how it is used.
There are multiple tutorials that you should read.

Re: Cherry Zen Template Support Thread
Hey there folks! Fairly new to ZenCart and Cherry Zen, but getting the hang of it. But, I am a little stumped right now. One of the options I want to offer on my site is a "Product of the Month" Club. The goal is for someone to order it, and somehow track it so that they are shipped out one of our products at the same time on a monthly basis. We would also like to offer an Auto Ship option, where someone can order a product and have it shipped to them at regular intervals for a set period of time.
Has anyone managed to do this with ZenCart? If so, how?
Thank you!

If you don't have it then that is your problem. Download fresh copy of Cherry Zen Template upload the includes/languages/english/extra_definitions/cherry_zen/order_steps_defines.php file. Make sure if you are using a your_custom folder, you renamed all the cherry_zen folders to your_custom folder name.

Mixed Flat Rate shipping
Greetings,
I would like to have two flat-rate shipping rates, based on the state being delivered to. I have a courier option for 5 states in the upper midwest, and will offer USPS flat-rate for all other states. I have tried multiple different configurations and tweaks in Zones and Zone Tables, but haven't apparently hit on the right combination yet. Can anyone assist?
Thank you!

You need to search other threads to find your answer. This is not the thread for that. This is for the zen cherry template.

Countrycharm - I am using the CherryZen template, so I wanted to make sure that any mods/edits/file copies I need to make would be specific to CZ. If you're saying those mods are not made or don't affect the CherryZen layer, I will certainly repost in a different forum.
Thank you.

I saying that this thread is for zen cherry templates question. If any of the module you want to use is using any zen cherry template files you will have to merge them together with a text editor like WinMerge . If you are having problems with the template not displaying right or something in that order then this is the thread for you. No dis-respect.

Re: Cherry Zen Template Support Thread
Pardon me if this has been asked but the thread's so big and I haven't found the answer. I'm using Cherry Zen with the grid layout and I'm wondering why when I have say, 40 products in a category, only 10 of the available 12 spots for products are full on the page? You can see an example here - http://74.53.239.51/~lcamp/index.php...ort=20a&page=3
Is this a setting somewhere?
Thanks!

In your admin...
Configuration > Maximum Values > Products Listing- Number Per Page
Sounds like you have it set for 10. Change it to 12. :)

Re: Cherry Zen Template Support Thread
Hi
Great template - i installed it some months ago but abandoned it over a problem which I could not get round despite much head scratching. i have come back again to see if I am missing something obvious
The website displays categories in the left side below the banner
I have tried all permutations and searched the forum
Is there a fix to this to get the category links in the left side box at the top for this template?
link is www.orispace.co.uk
thanks
-
Re: Cherry Zen Template Support Thread
just to clarify
The links on the left column go to the bottom when expanded.
I think it could due to the length of some of the sub category names.

Re: Cherry Zen Template Support Thread
Hi everybody.
I want this template to be 2 columns only. I know how to eliminate the right sideboxes in the css.
My question is, will the center area expand to the full width of the display area or will the center remain at 800px and just be blank on the right side?
Also I have viewed sites with this template with a wide screen moniter and have not seen the template expand to 1300px as advertised. Can it automaticly adjust to fill the width of a widescreen display?
Thanks

Re: Cherry Zen Template Support Thread
Hi friends,
I am using Cherry Zen with Zen Cart 1.3.8a and haven't made any changes in the last year and everything was working fine.
My site was working properly and suddenly today the template is not loading. on the main page only the left column is loaded in the default template. varoxcomDOTcom
The admin part is working fine, except the template select option, where I get this error:
DIR_FS_CATALOG_TEMPLATES NOT SET
I checked the configure.php in the admin/includes and it is set.
define('DIR_FS_CATALOG_TEMPLATES', DIR_FS_CATALOG . 'includes/templates/');

Can you look at the web server error log. It might display helpful error messages.

Re: Cherry Zen Template Support Thread
Hello,
In my e-mail welcome page, and in a coupon e-mail we sent out this evening, the URL in the "Visit us at..." portion is incorrect.
Instead of "Visit us at http://www.roastedhopecoffee.com" it reads "Visit us at http:www.roastedhopecoffee.coml" I have looked in several PHP files, searched on it in the Developers Toolkit, searched the database, but I can't figure out where this is coming from. When I search for "Visit us" in the DTK, the only result returns from:
/includes/languages/english/coupon_admin.php, where it refers to:
Line #48 : define('TEXT_VISIT', 'Visit us at %s');
I can't for the life of me figure out where it is getting the variable for %s".
Any insights would be greatly appreciated!

Re: Cherry Zen Template Support Thread
I don't have a 'visit us at' in my welcome email but it does mention the URL to the website at the tail end of the email.
The welcome letter I believe can be found at:
includes/languages/english/create_accounts.php
I also believe it calls out the information from the config file at:
includes/configure.php
Hope this helps.

It appears that it is pulling the +URL in the bolded portion below, and that is where we have the wrong URL typed in. All our configure.php files appear to have the correct .com URL but somewhere, we typed it in as .coml and that's creating a couple of problems. It also pulls the .coml URL when we click on Online Catalog which then generates a Page Not Found error since our site should not end with an "l"...
