Google finally did change the messaging and has posted a new blog post that says:
"Starting September 22, we'll gradually begin enforcing the new requirements by removing items from Google Product Search that do not meet the new requirements and, in some cases, suspending accounts that do not comply."
So the 22 deadline wasn't as hard as we anticipated it would be.
for some the deadline came down hard.
I saw this one yesterday.
"All your items have been suspended from the destinations and countries listed below. Please see the Data quality section for details."
They have improved the messages about problems for some - not all customers seeing the new look. Just ran into a section titled: Critical Errors: Must be fixed to prevent account suspension in United States.
That's much clearer than before.
Feeds are processing fine on all sites with the new version. No news on the clothing attributes that are now required. The feed and items are still listed. However we have not "resubmitted" the feed. Probably get kicked out when they review it? Just missing color, size, etc... No critical error messages yet. We'll see what happens?
Okay, my first disapproval -
the cart has linked products which means duplicate products to Google. I hadn't seen this before but had just changed to show all products regardless of stock quantity.
I had wondered about this before with another customer and I'm not seeing how to exclude those addtional linked products.
I had also changed the product type in admin to top where I had been using full - path.
Don't know what to do here - anybody with experience with this scenario?
From today my googlebase feed is being rejected as it is missing the attribute "availability" on all products.
As the latest version of google base feeder says it now incorporates this field I have ungraded to the latest version, however I seem to have upgraded sucessfully but this field isnt appearing in my feed file.
Does anyone have an idea which of the files I havent copied up correctly as I dont know which files deal with what to put in the feed file.
I read back through posts to solve this ...
set admins Show Quantity to true
(So relieved ... as for some reason I dont sell anything if Im not on googlebase) and Im in a panic to go out !!
