Re: Easy Populate support for Version 1.2.5.4
"Has anybody ever seen this issue? Id so, how do I fix it? Like I said earlier, I have tried reinstalling different versions (modules), and I have reinstalled each one at least two times. I do make sure to clear every entry in the DB regarding the mods. I also clear out all of the files. The last time I tried a reinstall I went so far as to download the files from my test cart with the operating module, and did a winmerge check. Then I used the successful files without altering them, which provided the same results.
I really need to get this cart going. I have been working at this module for about a week now. This is the first time I have had such an issue with a cart install, or module install. I'm seriously considering rolling it back to 1.3.8 so I know that it is not the cart itself. I know the 1.3.9 versions have had many bugs. I had to play with the code for hours to get the front page, and other define page HTML to render properly.
The only reason that I don't want to switch is because I have a custom template that I created for this site. I have never created a template that I then uploaded to different carts. I build them in the cart, use the overrides, and don't mess with them after that.
Well, any help tips, or suggestions would be great. I appreciate the community here, and all of your help."
I do not run 1.3.9c or the cvs version of EP, but what I would check first is the version of PHP that you have on your local server. Even if that is compatible with the 1.3.9c load, I would try the 1.3.8a and the 1.5.4 EP (Langler), to see if either makes a difference. If they work, then the CVS EP could be tried with the 1.3.8a.
I thought that maybe your template could have something to do with the issue but that shouldn't effect the admin section in one version and not in another. I am not aware of any problems between html and any PHP version.

I'm a newbie too... would you mind explaining the steps involved in making this work? That way, those of us experiencing the same problem won't have to chug through all 300+ comments that stretch around the earth to find this information and we can avoid extreme feelings of desperation!!! :frusty: Thanks

OOD and Excel are interchangeable any problems with excel are related to an altered default setting or improper saving of file format.
As far as getting it to work AVOID at all COSTS v .5 and .7 csv as they are plagued with innumerable problems noted throughout this thread.
If you wish to have EZ Pop running smoothly in your environment either install the 1.3.9 EZ Pop version in downloads or install the slightly restrictive 1.2.5.4 which is found in the retired files section.
With anything Zencart especially this type of program you need to be running version 5+ PHP anything less is an antique.

Re: Easy Populate support for Version 1.2.5.4
Has anyone had issues with products randomly being linked? If so, how/why does this happen? Is there something I am doing wrong? It just started. I've done serveral product uploads with no prior issues.
Thanks!
Re: Easy Populate support for Version 1.2.5.4
Just a little more info it turns out that to use this mod all model numbers has to be unique :/ Weird but thats how it is so if anyone else experience what I was change the model numbers to some crap lol

I was having the same issue since I didn't use model numbers initially. With about 150 things in the store now I didn't want to go through and edit them all to include model #'s
I decided to edit the program to automatically create the model number based off the product_id since it will be unique to each product. You can copy and paste this code into the /admin/easypopulate.php file. If you haven't already altered it, I believe it is at line 731 where you put it.. included some of the surrounding code so you can find it:
PHP Code:
if ($ep_dltype == 'froogle'){
$endofrow = "\n";
} else {
// default to normal end of row
$endofrow = $separator . 'EOREOR' . "\n";
}
$filestring .= $endofrow;
$num_of_langs = count($langcode);
while ($row){
////////////////////////////////////////////////////
// BEGIN: Set blank product_model to product id //
////////////////////////////////////////////////////
// Check if products_model in the current row is blank
if ($row[1] == '' || $row[1] == Null){
// if it is blank, create and run an sql query updating it to the product_id
$queryTHIS = 'UPDATE '.TABLE_PRODUCTS.'
SET
products_model="'.$row[0]. '"
WHERE
(products_id = "'. $row[0] . '")';
$result123 = ep_query($queryTHIS);
// this just changes the v_model in the output file without querying
// the server for it, since it was just changed
if ($result123){
$row[1] = $row[0];
}
}
//////////////////////////////////
// END: Set blank product_model //
//////////////////////////////////
// if the filelayout says we need a products_name, get it
// build the long full froogle image path
// check for a large image else use medium else use small else no link
// thanks to Tim Kroeger - www.breakmyzencart.com
$products_image = (($row['v_products_image'] == PRODUCTS_IMAGE_NO_IMAGE) ? '' : $row['v_products_image']);
$products_image_extension = substr($products_image, strrpos($products_image, '.'));
$products_image_base = ereg_replace($products_image_extension . '$', '', $products_image);
PLEASE BACKUP YOUR DATABASE BEFORE USING. It worked for me perfectly, but I don't wanna be blamed if something blows up. It hasn't been tested further than running it, making sure the site/database were still good, then deleting a couple of the models manually through admin and running again.
Re: Easy Populate support for Version 1.2.5.4
Hi,
I'm quite sure I'm not in the exactly correct place to ask, but have just joined tonight and need to find out how I can add products to google froogle feed. Was told by web company that Zen Cart 1.3.7 can no longer add products to froogle, is this true?
Can someone instruct me how to post new question/thread?
Web company said I had to pay them to upgrade to new Zen Cart version b/c google now requires "categories" per product -- #1, is that true and #2, is that something I can do myself?
Web company has history of lying, unfortunately, and I don't have $ to waste.
Thanks, and sorry I don't know how to get where I need to go!
