Re: Chemo's Ultimate URL's
Hi Dreamscape again,
I'd like to confirm that update on 9/4/2006
http://www.zen-cart.com/index.php?ma...roducts_id=231
is not really completely working yet.
That's why we are contributing at
http://www.zen-cart.com/index.php?ma...roducts_id=231
to make it really into the production mode.
Right?
Thanks

At 80%, we needed $100 extra. If you have provided $25, then we need $75 more. Its worth it to see this part happening.
As it stands I retracted my last two, simply because the process was not clear and I ended up not getting the result I intended.
But the need is clear. We need good SEO URL's and we need good ZenCart Modules.
I'll match the next $25 or $50 pledge with another $25 of my own. The former would push us within $25 of getting this thing funded, the latter would put us over the top.
There has to be one or two ZenCart Webmasters out there who recognize the need to have quality SEO URLS...

First of all, both links are exactly the same, so the question makes little sense to begin with.
Secondly, there is nothing seriously wrong with the current version. It works, but it is difficult for 3rd parties to extend & modify. For example if you want to exclude certain pages or add support for others, there is not a clear path to follow to do this, and you're forced to hack up the mod's core files to do so.
The purpose of developing the next version is to provide an improved and extensible version, as well as to clean up the code and clean up some minor bugs that still linger.
I don't know what you mean by "to make it really into the production mode." I'm sorry, your English is fairly decent, but I'm just not sure what you're trying to say here.
Re: Chemo's Ultimate URL's
Chemo, just installed your 2.103 version successfully.
However, when there is only one product in a category, it gives a 200 header for the category, then redirects to the single product. I have not fully worked my way through your code. How can I turn off that redirect so that the category url still shows when there is just the one product in that category.
Thanks

Chemo is not here, and he never was.

Redirecting to the product page when there is one product in a category is not a function of this module. It is a function of Zen Cart; i.e, it is built into Zen Cart. I'm sure there is a setting to alter this behavior somewhere, but I don't know where it is without looking through the settings. You may want to look through them yourself to try to locate it or ask in a more appropriate place such as general support or something.
Re: Chemo's Ultimate URL's
Thanks, and sorry Joshua (?). Have I got it right this time?
That is why I could not find the single product redirect in your code. Now to look and ask elsewhere.
Re: Chemo's Ultimate URL's
Config, layout settins, skip 1 prod categories - now set to false!!!
Thanks.
Re: Chemo's Ultimate URL's
From what I understand their is a known bug whereby customers will not be able to login after creating an account. Is their any resolution to this issue?
Re: Chemo's Ultimate URL's
I had this problem and I thought it had to do with this module. I turned off recreate sessions and it fixed it. Blessisacola had the same problem. But its possible that we are two people who use this mod and had the same problem, and erroneously supposed it was caused by this mod. I think its still somewhat up in the air.

Re: Chemo's Ultimate URL's
What is this suppose to actually do for your site. I have had this install for about a month now and i see not difference in my site rating. The only thing i see this doing is change the zend extion into words. Other than that it to me it has not improved any thing... so is it better to have word urls or just stay with the normal zen url?
