hello,
when adding an image you select a base directory.
Is there any way to change this list to be in alphabetic order?
Thanks
shoulders
I am having a bit of an issue with image handler. It has to do with the additional images. I have read most of the threads that relate to the additional images and I have tried what everyone else has said worked for them. However, for some particular reason I am still not able to get any additional images to be able to scroll thru in Lightbox. I upload images thru IH2 and they show up there, however, when I go to the actual product screen, only the original image is displayed. If anyone can help me with this I would greatly appreciate it.
Ok, I can't get this to work on my new server.
I'm getting random blank content again. test site
Any ideas? I know it's related to IH2 cause the site works when I turn it off. I'm pretty sure it's a PHP problem, but the fix_cache_key debug tool won't work on this site for some reason. It doesn't write anything to my cache. I have used it successfully before but it's not working for me now.
Any ideas at all. I'm getting a 500 error message, but I have another site running IH2 on this exact same server that is functioning just super.
Please, I've been at this all day!
Thanks.
and by fix_cache_key of course I mean enable_error_logging
I'm not sure why, but I've changed the IP that my site resides (I have three available for my server) and somehow that fixed the problem. I'm currently investigating this further, as I really want to know why.
On a side not, is there any way to have the pop-up images be a different size from the image on the product page? Or are there any hacks that make this function better with IE? Right now I have my product image size set fairly large, but the hover image won't pop-up in IE unless the entire image can be displayed under the cursor (the pop-up will automatically stay on screen and display properly with FF). Anyone know what I'm talking about and have any ideas?
Thanks.
Hi all.
is it possible to het IH2 to enlarge smaller images, lets say 140x140 to 280x280 in the popup window. What settings to I need to set then?
I can not get a hold of larger images than 140x140.
Please see my site for reference.
I don't know, but it's pretty easy to resize them in a graphics program like Paint Shop Pro. You can do the whole lot in a batch.
If you can't get IH2 to do what you need, and don't have PSP, maybe send me your images in a zip file and I'll do them for you and send 'em back.
I just downloaded IH2, uploaded the 4 specific folders to my server, but it's not showing in my admin under tools like it says it should. I'm using the 1.3.8 version, and did check to make sure that the GD was in there. What else could I be missing?
Okay, maybe I'm just stupid...I've tried searching and haven't found anything (probably because it's such a basic question) but could someone please tell we exactly WHERE I'm supposed to install all of these files. I'm using template overides, so do I install all of the files in my "template_default" folder? If so, there's already an image folder there...do I overide it? Sorry for such a basic question...I'm just lost! :)
I’ve installed Image Handler 2 yesterday. I THINK I copied all the files into correct folders/directories.
However, like MamaT said, I do not see any IH titles under my admin>configuration>images.
There are two things that I think causing this problem.
1) I didn’t know where to look for GD or ImageMagick is installed (I’m using Hostgator), so I just went ahead and installed the mod.
2) While I was uploading files to my server, I didn’t know how to merge files, so I think I overrode 4 or possibly more existing files (those files had not been modified by me).
/includes/modules/additional_images.php
/includes/modules/main_product_image.php
/includes/modules/pages/popup_image/header_php.php
/includes/modules/pages/popup_image_additional/header_php.php
I also have another question maybe related to Image Handler.
Currently, all my product images are located at
/images/(folder name for related category)
e.g.
/images/animal : all animal related product images
/images/art : all art related product images
Originally, I was going to use only one sized images for everything (main display, product display, product info, etc) and not use larger image function.
Now I’m about to use Image Handler, I suddenly magically see large and medium folders inside images directory (/images/large and /images/medium). Should I place my product images under those directories, like:
/images/large/animal
/images/medium/animal
Sorry for the long posting. I’m php, css and any kind of coding newbie and learning those as I go along at this moment.
Thank you so much for any help and advice.

Okay, I figured out how to install it. Sorry for the stupid question in the previous post! :) I'm not sure what's going on now though. The hover feature is not working...there's a little "+" icon in the bottom right corner of all my small images but when I put my mouse over it, the whole website shifts down...
here's a link, any help would be MUCH appreciated!

 Nevermind...
I have installed the image handler and am getting some errors and also no + sign on the images. I also installed the cherry zen template.
So here is the error:

I get this error when I goto "tools, Image Handler2". I would really appreciate any help and guidance, I've been trying to figure this out since 1:30 a.m.
you need to change the permissions on your BMZ_CACHE folder to match your image folder in ftp. (my setting are normally 777 for images & 777 for bmz_cache - if you have linux hosting - right click on the folder and choose change permissions)
Basically image handler is not working because it can't "write" to the bmz_cache folder.
I'm sorry to be dense, but I don't know where I need to change that? Is in in the admin section or the image handler section? I appreciate your help.
Thank you Peanut77, I found what you meant. It appears to be working!! THANKS!
No probs glad you found it.
Hello, I'v just installed image handler for my shop. I have many questions but i'll start with the most important one. http://server51.dayanadns.com/~itamz...dex&cPath=1_21 here, image handler seems to work just fine
i'v uploaded a small and medium image for each product.
177 x 125 px is the medium picture and it appears just fine.
but on this page
http://server51.dayanadns.com/~itamz...dex&cPath=1_29
the image is resized to a small one and we can't read the description.
the original size of the medium image in the first product is 400 x 300 or close.
why is it resized...? i cant figure this out
thanks for your time.
You'll need to pick up a large pic too - if you are showing different images for each staus - small/thumbnail , medium & large
The way zen works is it looks at the small as a default image if you are picking up different sizes (I normally just pick up one image and add additional images if needed) so if you only pick up a small and medium - t'll show the small for the "large pop up"
Hope that helps
Actually I use a small and a medium picture only for the amulets and it works as shown in the first link... the small image is not the same as the medium one. so when the small img is hovered, the medium image with details appears.
I'm wondering why i'm doing the same with the images on the second link and it doesnt work. my problem isnt that it picks up the smaller image, it actually uses the medium image uploaded but its resized way too small to see anything.
=/
I'm sorry, but I still cannot get this working on my site. I finally gave up and just manually resized each image and uploaded it. However, I really want to get this going so I can use the hover feature.
My bmz_cache and images are both set at 755 so I know that is not my problem. Do you have any other ideas for where I may be missing something?
I wanted to add that all of the folders are showing in my FTP's zencart folder. I see the medium and large image folders. It seems like all is set, but when I go back to admin/tools, the image handler is not there:no:
Hey all i just installed image handler 2 and i find it fantastic as i had a few people complain that my pics were to small... in particular the categories image.... So installed this mod to overcome this problem as i understand this is what image hover is....
I have been browsing through several threads looking for a solution to increase the size of the pic when you hover over it.. Now someone said in another forum to increade the product info size.. now that worked but it increased the size of the products pic which i dont want.
Now my question is it possible to increase the size of the pic displayed when you hover over a product and not to increae the size in the product info display?
Also how would i go about removing the product heading from the pop up hoiver image?
Thanks

Hi
Let me start by saying - I am a newbie to Image Handler2, PHP and CSS and have a question.
I used EZ Populate to upload my inventory. Noted the image as
file name medium than the path to the image - name ending in _S (as shown as my small image in configuration). The image handler shows the image in small and large but not medium. Here is what I tried -
1. Resizing the small image to the size of the image I want the medium to be, as I have set sizes in the admin/configuration/images area. Didn't work.
2. Uploaded an image - file name ending _M and reloaded the small at the correct size and medium at the correct size.
Do I have to go back and manually load all the mediums thru the Tools/Image Handler 2 area? I did that with my kit section but really don't want to do it for all the fabric.
Here is the link to the area that I am "playing" with.
http://www.quiltsonbroadway.com/zen/...th=124_125_126
Also - since I am using Image Handler - Do I have to keep my images in "medium" and "large" folders separately? or can I just have one folder (ie Benartex/Frosted_Flakes) with images ending in _S, _L and _M if needed?
TIA
Mona
With IH you only need to upload "1" image, the largest image you want to display. IH will create the medium and the small image from this image based on the settings you have in Admin-->Configuration-->Images. (to see what settings, search this thread for my name, about 4-6 pages back)
You don't have to add _s, _L or _M to any image.
You don't use the medium/large folders.
You can put all the images in the image folder or you can have sud-folders (ie.. images/benartex).
You do need to follow the correct image name scheme.

Thanks for your quick reply tophand!
I believe I followed the settings correctly. Please review (if you don't mind)for me - sorry don't know how to do the screen shot thing:blush:

My images are correctly named as far as I can see (ie 321244_L.jpg etc) no spaces or odd symbols.
I did notice that even though I reloaded my inventory (to test) via EZ populate - the images do not show up with the bmz_cache in the path. The ones I put in via the tool area have that in the path.
Once again thanks for your help!!
Mona
Settings look fine if you don't want to use the Hover/Zoom/popup on features like Product Listing page, New Products Listing, Featured Products.
If you want to have the Hover/Zoom/Popup then see this:
http://www.zen-cart.com/forum/showpo...postcount=2981
Also, look at your site and your are missing at least 1 IH file.
Double check to see that you unloaded all the IH files.
You don't want the bmz-cache folder path as all the images in that folder are created on the fly. You can safely delete all the contents of the bmz_cache folder anytime and IH will create the files when needed. The files will have new names each time.
M
Do you have any suggestions for me tophand? I've even tried reloading and uploading the files and I'm at the same place.....
thanks again for the quick answer.
I am chosing to NOT use the hover at this time - only the slimbox.
You are correct about the IH file not being loaded. I didn't upload the "shopad" file to the site cuz it wasn't on the list of files that needed to be uploaded. Then I read again about the custom template file and uploaded that to my template file as well.
Question should the tpl_main_page remain in the folder popup_images_additional or somewhere else in the custom template area?
I went through the files - file by file - in my FTP program to compare and they all seem to be there.
None of these seem to work.........I still do not have the medium/product info images.
TIA
Mona
What version of IH?
Have you double/triple check that you uploaded "all" the IH files and they are in the correct folders?
Have you compare them to be sure they are at the correct file size?
FTP programs sometime will fail to upload the entire file yet will report it was successful.
Thank you. I'm going through and double checking everything as I read and respond here.
Image Handler 2 for 1.3.x
Following this link (http://breakmyzencart.com/ih-doc?Dok...602c15e69f815e), I have put the four following folders into my zencart folder, which is under my public_html: admin - bmz_cache - images - includes.
By this do you mean the images and bmz numbers? If so, yes I did, just did it again, they are both 755.
I just went to my control panel and looked there. All of the folders are showing, they are all 4KB, and the "perms" are all 0755. Yet I go to my admin/tools and there is nothing about IH showing up there.
Shopad folder is extra stuff that the last person failed to remove before packaging & unloading this version of IH.
What I see missing is a css file.
In your IH admin, click the link to remove IH from the database. Don't worry you are not deleting anything.
Next Clear the image cache. You can do from IH admin or FTP or your website control panel. If you do 1 of the last 2 options you want to delete all the sub-folders from the bmz-cache folder. That done go back to IH admin click the Install IH link.
M
I'm still searching looking for answers here. I found this thread:http://www.zen-cart.com/forum/showthread.php?t=83680
If I somehow wrote over those files, would it result in the problem that I'm having now, and if so, how would I remedy it?
If not....I'm still at square one:(
Ok Tophand - follow the instructions - both ways.
Removed IH
Delete Image cache
this done from Admin/Tools/IH
the sub folders in the bmz_cache were still there so I remove them (via Ispwitch WS-FTP)
Went back to Admin/Tools/IH and reinstalled IH
Still no medium pictures
I did it twice ;o) and still no medium/product info pictures.
Which css file am I missing and where does it go? Can I manually put it in place via FTP?
TIA
Mona
I pick out two of your products.
Both are missing the medium image so it look like the file path is not correct or the image itself is missing.
This may have something to do with Slimbox mod.
http://www.quiltsonbroadway.com/zen/...ow/90560_L.jpg
http://www.quiltsonbroadway.com/zen/.../6985001_L.jpg
Pick one of your products, delete the image.
Go to IH manager and from the drop down box select the product and from the "Default image File" Browse upload a new image (your large image).
See what happens.
Hey guys, I'm having a really annoying issue where the popup display of the medium sized images on my homepage isnt where it's supposed to be its like on a random point on the screen instead of by the image its zooming in to.
I had this problem once before and i just reinstalled IH2 and it worked just fine, thats not working now. Is there some kind of code I can use to fix this?
Thanks in advanced, please help me out because my store is supposed to be opening in a few days and this is one of the last kinks.
One other thing I noticed is that when I manually put on the largest photo - the file size doesn't change for the small and medium.
For instance - I manually through IH2 in my tools section - put this file in the default image area - using the largest images. It did give me a small and medium by resizing them but the file size for all three are the same 67.95KB according to properties. Is this normal?
Here is the link and the picture is the first one -
http://www.quiltsonbroadway.com/zen/...th=124_144_145
Thanks again
Mona
I am noticeing that IH2 and zen Lightbox dont' work together with extra images? It works fine on the main image but does not work on the extra images added? Anyone else have this problem?
Sorry my site is http://xblight.com/store/.
I noticed that it only occurs in google chrome, not in any of my other browsers.
It used to work in google chrome too though, so it would be nice if there was a fix for that.
OK i have an error in IE7:
Line: 125
Char: 7
Error: "ClientY" is null or not an object
Now i have been reading about this error and i have tried to change PageY to ClientY still seems to come up. I noticed in a previous post someone had posted a modified file but the link was broken.
Im using the most recent IH2 install, installed and reinstalled numerous times and followed a few ways on here but still nothing.
I think it has only started happening today!
Can someone please check my js file?

My problem has been discovered and I wanted to share it here, just in case, somewhere down the road, there is someone as dense as I:P
*I* thought I was supposed to put the 4 folders (admin, bmz_cache, images, and includes) INTO my zencart folder. I guess I didn't know what ROOT meant, and assumed it was "directly to". Anyway, apparently they are to go into the /public_html/. NOT the /public_html/zencart.
NOW, after finding that thread I posted above about the overwriting files (http://www.zen-cart.com/forum/showthread.php?t=83680) I'm scared to move them! LOL!
I want to be CLEAR of what I am to do now, before I do it. Especially since I am seeming to misunderstand things! In that thread Misty says:

ALWAYS BACKUP your zencart install and mysql database
BEFORE installing any zencart mod..
First I need to back up what I have. Is it correct that to do this, I just FTP a copy of my zencart folder to my desktop? And then, where do I go to make a copy of the mysql?
After that, I will go back to the place on my computer with the IH2 download, and put them into the /public_html? The bmz_cache direcly to it, and then OPEN the other three folders and move each file individually to the folder that is already in the public_html with that name?
Then, is it going to hurt anything to leave these other ones in the zencart folder that is in the public_html? Or do I remove them? Or do I remove just a PART of them? I DO think that those were overwritten. Ok, I KNOW something in there was overwritten.....I just don't know what to do about it now.....
Check out Tutorials/FAQ top of the page.
Not to confuse everyone on where to put files....
It depends on where you installed Zen-Cart.
In MamaT case she has ZenCart installed to /public_html/.
But she misunderstood when installing IH and created a new folder /public_html/zencart/ and uploaded the IH files there.
YES, always backup before adding/touching any files.
AND use the Folder OverRides.

Now I'm officially ready to cry! I don't get this at all! I made the backups, went back and FTP'd the admin, includes, and images folders to the folders with the corresponding names in public_html, FTP'd the bmz_cache directly to the public_html, and STILL nothing is showing up in my admin/tools. I even logged out of my admin page and opened it back up, hoping that it needed to "reset" or something.
WHAT am I missing? WHY is this so difficult for me?! AAARGH!!!
Mama T
I would say do this step by step - load the admin folder to the admin folder, etc - if nothing is appearing - you must have something in the wrong place.
Where does your zencart folder site? is it at the root of your space (within htdocs/publichtnl etc) or do you have a folder called shop/zen etc?
My zen sites normally site at the root of my space (i.e htdocs/ publichttp etc)
I then load everything up - apart from the includes folder. So I click admin, bmz_cache and click the arrow in ftp to copy them across
Then I open up the includes folder and copy the folders across one by one, ithen includes/templates I then open my own override folder (rather than the template_default or classc folder) and copy the contents of the (image handler) templates_default to my override folder.
Then I change the settings on the BMZ_CACHE folder , then all thats left to do is simply go to tools>image handler, then I click install.
thanks peanut. i'm in the process of doing it one by one now. my question is that in the modules/pages, there are header_php files in both the popup_image and the popup_image_additional. They are different in their file sizes so I'm now confused. I didn't want to overwrite what was already in the popup_image so I put it in my module override folder. Now I've come to the second one and if I put it in the popup_image_additional it would overwrite there, but if I put it in my module override file, it would overwrite the one I just put in there for popup_image.
Does that make ANY sense??
OH MY!! I think I did it!!!
Don't ask me to explain how because I can't! Basically I saw a second override folder in there, added the second header_php to that one, and it's now IN MY ADMIN:clap:
Whew.....now for round 2. Can I get it working correctly:lookaroun
Should be super easy from now on in.
Was just a wee case of a few bits in the wrong place.
Now a good rule of thumb is to make sure any images you are going to use on your site are less than 500kb in file size and that they don't have any spaces or funny characters in them - i.e my&& 20 picture.jpg
then you'll be laughing.
I hope so!
I just noticed that my additional product photos have disappeared since the IH started working. Why would that be?
I guess I should have said that I've checked and it's set to 3 in admin, and I checked and the additional_image php thing is in my override folder for modules.
You tried this one?

Hi,
After installing IH2 and Lightbox Mods on fresh install of zen Cart 1.3.8a, all is well thankfully :)
What great modifications :) Thank you!
The only issue I am having is..
When I upload the main image it sometimes uploads it either uppercase (JPG) or lowercase (jpg), which is ok, However it becomes a major problem in the ######## when you when you add additional images because the additional images usually add in lowercase jpg, so what that means if your main image is uppercase JPG, it means the additional images will NOT show!!
The only way to show them is by going into your server images folder and renaming the image extension to whichever extension is the main page, and only then will the additional images show!
Now, why are the images uploading either in JPG or jpg at times and how to fix this issue? I can't seem to figure it out and I am going crazy :frusty:.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Best Regards,
Also, another thing to my previous post!!
Everything was working fine until I added more products, now the site is not showing completely, and the products are not showing?
I turn IH2 off from the Admin and the site shows up well again, then install IH2 the same thing happens, products don't show?
Everything from the admin seems fine!
Please help I am after fixing this site before the holidays and start selling!
Thanking you in advance.
Regards,
Another question. I was searching looking for a way to remove the titles from my hover image and found this statement:
Can someone explain this to me? I don't know what SEO is? Is it a bad idea to remove those titles?Quote:
I'd personally suggest removing the word T-Shirt from all your products though as the title tag is pretty significant for SEO purposes,
SEO = Search Engine Optimization, and yes it is a bad idea to remove those titles - web standards require them (otherwise your site won't validate), they provide people with images turned off, or using browsers that don't display them with the onlyt information they'll gte about what should be there, and you'll move lower in the search engine rankings without them.
Hope that helps as a quick explanation. As this isn't really the place for discussion of SEO, if you want to know more I recommend searching the site for more closely-related threads.
UPDATE: I followed the instruction of post #3 here, and my additional images are now showing:clap:
http://www.zen-cart.com/forum/showthread.php?t=63308
Thank you! I did find the thread you are talking about here:
http://www.zen-cart.com/forum/showpo...postcount=1802
I changed the font size to 0, but the titles are still showing on my page :dontgetit
Ok this has probably been answered but I did a search for PNG in the thread and couldn't find anything. In one of my stores all PNG's come up with Red X's after installing Image Handler 2. Is there a setting somewhere I'm missing. Also in a store I sell in, Image Handler 2 doesn't work with animated previews, is there a way around that?
I give up! The hover was something I thought would be great but I can't get png's to show up at all on the product pages (they are just red x's) and on individual designer pages there's no hover at all. Guess I just wasn't meant to have this mod lol
What changes did you make in admin-->configuration--->images?
Animated gifs is not supported by GD libraries or ImageMagick via Perl. A upcoming version of Perl should support animated gifs.
Have you double check that you uploaded "All" the IH files?
A link helps us help you.
I just looked....I was in the /includes/templates/template_default/css/style_imagehover.css
:lookaroun
ive installed your most recent version of image handler2 on my site: www.rskcoulterproducts.com
and it worked for a lil bit then all of a sudden quit working and ive completely uninstalled it in the admin and file by file and reinstalled in file by file and in the admin again and it still won't work .. any ideas? or is there something else i could send you other than just going to my site that would assist anyone in helping me set this back up.. cuz while it was working i enjoyed it and got lots of comments about how positive it was to my site.. thanks...
ryan
is there any security issue with using IH2 ?
This module requires Catch folder to read and write under the root of the site .
would that leave the site open to hack ?
any thought on this issue would be great .
i only like the feature that i can upload one image and have it resized , i found the zoom is too oldschool :) ..
thanks . '
Hi Tim, first, Image Handler 2 is great! I have got all done except the ability to see the larger image from the smaller and medium images. I have the plus sign and the watermark, but when I hover, I get an "error on page" message in the bottom left corner, when clicked on it talks about "expected object". I did try to look through the threads and also all the documentation. I also reloaded everything. I'm using the Cherry Zen template (not sure if that makes a difference). Thanks for any help.
chances are that you are missing a file . sounds like javascript file .. expected object .. is looking for the object that needed on that file but is not find it .. . since you have custom template .. make sure you have the proper override set for it and make sure all IH2 files are loaded in their respective folders in your custom template.
I've done that twice now. I don't see any javascript files though, only php...
javascript is located under include/templates /template_default/javascript folder. ( IH2 folders )
im pretty sure you missing file or two
everything seems to work just fine. With exception to adding additional images.
We are getting the following error.
Error!
Unable to determine the page link!
Function used:
zen_href_link('', '', 'NONSSL')
Any ideas how we can fix this.
Thanks
take a look at this : might solve your problem
https://www.zen-cart.com/forum/showthread.php?t=67679
Now that is interesting. I don't have a folder at all called javascripts. Could I be using the older version?
sorry my mistake . is not javascrip. is jscript folder.
In that folder (include/templates /template_default/) I have a css folder and a popup_image_additional folder.
Thanks that did the trick. Now moving along. If I set proportional size in image configurations to off. The product info image doesnt show.
Im thinking it could be the image name problem some where talking about. The store owner has all her images set like 4600_200.jpg
I was able to get all images resized to her specs with exception to the product info one.
Thanks again for your help.
I'm using Image Handler 2 v1.3.7. I have the newest zen cart and php5 installed. Is this the wrong version?
the jscript folder is in template_default directory . you are looking at template_custom folder where there is only CSS and popup_image_additional folder is.
you need to upload files from template_default folder to your zencart template_default folder that is in your include folder ..
