Does the group pricing work with Google Checkout?
Thanks,

Hi there. I'm new to Zen Cart and to e-commerce through Zen Cart... so I'm wondering if this Google Checkout System is the most compatible and worthwhile way to go for processing payments. I'm also wondering how complicated it is to set up. Can someone help me with some information?
I'm running the latest version of Zen Cart, btw.
KismetDesign
One more thing... on the Google Checkout information page at http://checkout.google.com/support/s...y?answer=25397 it says that all buyers making purchases through Google Checkout must first create their own Google Accounts.
For those of you already using Google Checkout, is this a pain for your customers to have to go through?
Can you offer customers the ability to use Google Checkout or Paypal? Or should you just go with one or the other?
KD
Sure you can.
PayPal is only interested in the Buyer not the Seller. They will be on your side over the phone and turn around and refund the Buyer regardless of what the Buyer agreed to and agreements read and checked off on your site. Use PayPal for FeeBay.
GC- if you jump through their hoops, you can sell anywhere in the world and they will cover your backside. Never had I had to refund a dime, thanks to them. Oh and no monthly fees!
Chargebacks stink and only GC will be on your side every time.
Try going live. That seems to be the only way I could troubleshoot issues. use the Tools option in the GC online Admin to make sure they can talk to your responsehandler.php
https://checkout.google.com/sell/orders
It sounds like GC might really be our best bet. One more question... my client asked me about transactions... said they were charged more for more transactions done through their bank, even deposits.
With Google Checkout, how often do they deposit the money they collect into your bank account? Do they group it together or do it one at a time per transaction?
Thanks for your time!

I was wondering, where do i change the order status when it is used?
Currently it is set to default, but I would like to change it to processing. I searched through the code for "default" but all i found was shipping or currency info.
Well I am still learning everything but on GC the client transfers the money themselves like Paypal. its a per transaction fee. I just closed my intuit account to go through them. They are by far the cheapest solution out there with no monthly fees associated with usage. We also had intuit for 6 months and nobody used it. With people losing trust in credit card theft, nobody trusted us as a safe source to have their credit card info. Everyone knows google, and I installed this a week ago now and have already processed a transaction through it.
Hope this helps
International orders will take a few days to reach your bank.
On the Shipping Info page I clearly state, "International orders will process when we get the green light from the Banks and may take a week before shipping. "
I will not ship until I receive the funds in my Bank. GC wants it this way and always get a signature for International orders.
GC will process the orders as a daily batch. Every night about 9PM PST you will see in the Payouts window that GC sent the funds to your Bank.
Typically it takes 2 business days after the order date to reach the Bank and 2-5 for International orders. GC wants you to ship after receiving the funds so do what they ask on International orders and you may never have to pay a chargeback.
Okay, that is what I wanted to know (the batch processing). I thought I saw something on Google's site about also having the option of doing the deposits once a month? Was I reading that wrong?
I am confused about coupons, reading through this huge thread, going back I can't work out what applies now.
I have set up a coupon in admin, gone to googlecheckout as a customer in sandbox but cannot see a box to enter coupon. Am I missing something ( or maybe just missing the point), I have the latest version of Zen and Google Checkout module for Zen Cart

Can anybody help
Okay, I know I messed up something fairly simple - just don't know what.
I installed the GC module, and set it for the Sandbox mode. Tried it out, and for some reason I don't see a shopping cart page once I order something. I can complete the checkout, so I'm assuming it's a PHP error I did while putting in the mod.
I'm using the EZ blue template, with the Local Tax mod (all of which are working). When I installed it, I didn't just copy everything over because the instructions said I should use "Option B" - edit individual files. Should I have copied everything over (Option A) and THEN edited them?
Any help would be appreciated - we'd like to get this figure out!
- Russ
Update - no, I can't complete the checkout. It said I did, but it doesn't show up in the Google Sandbox. After posting, I copied over everything like in Option A, and since I had already changed to files to accommodate Option B, those were still correct, too. But, no shopping cart and no Google Checkout! Any suggestions would be appreciated.
I just downloaded the latest Google Checkout module for Zen Cart. I wanted to read through the installation files first, but when I tried to open them they didn't have a valid extension.
I first tried .txt, but the information was only separated with weird squares. So I tried .html, and that worked... but everything is run together.
I manually sorted out everthing except for all the file paths... because the way it showed up was so confusing that I didn't know what went where.
Can someone tell me where I can get either a list of the files that I need to transfer or replace, or 2 new installation & read me files?
I need to get going on this very soon, and all I can do right now is read through the rest of the documentation.
Thanks!
KD
I had everything working, but Google is once again omitting the shipping costs.
Nothing has changed on our part.
Has there been a change with Google Checkout that I need to make modifications for?
Any other factors that could cause this?
We use per unit perweight as our shipping method.
Ugh, I wonder how many more people are having trouble opening the READ ME file located in the Add-On's section. I've re-formatted it for easier reading and will attach it as a zip file.
If someone could go over it quickly and make any necessary edits, then submit it to the documentation section, that would be awesome. I don't know how to do it.
-KismetDesign
I installed google checkout. when I add items to the cart and go to the checkout page I select google checkout then I click continue checkout and then confirm checkout I'm redirect again to my cart which is "main_page=shopping_cart" any solution or why this is happenning.
Thank you
Looks good. Go to http://www.zen-cart.com/index.php?ma...index&cPath=40 and submit it. You'll need to register in that section. In about one or two weeks they'll add your addition.
Please wait until the Google Recurring Payments is added.
Can someone give me some direction on how to implement this?

Any chance we can get Zen Cart back on the Approved list of E-Carts?
I wonder whether anyone can help me. I've searched through this forum and although some people seem to have had similar problems, I can't find a solution that works for me.
I tried to install GC 6 months ago and gave up because I couldn't get the shipping working correctly. I've been trying again over the last few days and still can't get it working.:frusty:
I'm based in the UK. I use only 2 shipping methods, 1 is store pickup (free for customers), the other is zonetable. 99% of my customers qualify for free shipping under the zonetable method and from reading through the forum it seems I won't be able to get zonetable working so all I want to do is not charge anything for shipping with google checkout.
Is it possible to not use any of the shipping settings from zencart (without getting any 'shipping not configured' errors, or any '..doesn't ship to this address' errors) and just use the methods I set up in the settings area of Google Checkout account?
Any help will be greatly appreciated
I have been able to get this to work except that the shipping rates always default. Unless I can get the actual shipping rates to work I can't use it.
What I want is Google Checkout to never use default values in shipping and only use actual shipping.
I don't know if this make a difference but PayPal works great. I never have any problems with shipping calculations.
Also, with PayPal I use the same account for around 80 different websites and it works great. Unless I have missed something the same isn't true for Google. With Google checkout I believe you can have multiple sites but you don't get checkout verification. I get the order via email but the order doesn't show up in Zen Cart. Is there something that can be done so that multiple websites can use the same account?
I have been working with Google Checkout all weekend and I'm stuck! I have Standard Shipping and the free shipping over a certain dollar amount working great... everything seems to communicate to Google Checkout.
One more thing to do... I have a 3 day Express shipping option. It's installed and works great if you checkout with the regular cart. If a customer chooses Google Checkout, the option to get 3 day express for a flat rate ($2 handling and $3 per item) is not there. I used the "Shipping generator" to add the info to shipping_methods.php and the "3 day express is not configured" went away.
I can't figure out what I'm missing.
If you have any ideas, please let me know!
Thanks
Nancy
Just to cover it in one place, I added "express" (the name of my shipping module) to googlecheckout/shipping_methods.php
I found that info in another post buried deep!
Is there really no way to get shipping information over to Google Checkout if there is a zone set? How are ya'll handling international orders when you take Google Checkout? The zones work beautiful in Zen Cart. Example- I want to offer free shipping for orders over $100 and Standard shipping~ but only in the US and Canada and offer $10 flat rate international shipping, along with an upgrade for US customers for 3 Day Express.
I've actually considered duplicating my shipping modules an have Google Checkout use those only but I wouldn't know how to turn them off on the rest of the site!
Any thoughts, ideas etc are greatly appreciated!
Nancy
Hallo,
I have installed this mod, now, I have looked and looked, and Im having shipping problems. Does this actually support shipping-per-weight? I am based in the UK, and all my packages ship to the UK or Europe. Is there a way of this actually working properly as if I was using ZenCart. It seems that no one in this bazillion pages of text can answer conclusively. I know the order system works, it just shows £1 shipping on every single shipping method.
I installed Google Checkout... and am now trying it out in Sandbox mode...
When I get to the shopping cart, it has two buttons being displayed... one for 'Go to checkout' and one that says -Or use- 'Google Checkout'.
Right now we are only set up for people to use Google checkout, so how do I turn the other one off?
And... do I have to use the standard Google Checkout button... or can I use a different button that just looks better... that can take people to the same place?
KD
Ok,
I installed and used this module and things were going fine until i had a customer order an item that was backordered.
FYI, for anyone using google checkout this is a must!!!
There are 2 options for processing payments.
1. Authorize payment--this makes sure the funds are there (google does not tell you, but this is their recommended method)
2. Authorize and charge--this makes sure the funds are there and charges them the amount.
I set up mine for the second. Again, they did not make any warnings except for the pages of policies etc they have that I didnt fully read. ( so thats my fault)
I had a customer order an item that ended up not being available at the time of purchase. I notified the customer that at this time i could not ship their item, and they were fine with that stating it was a Christmas gift. Well, GC does not have any options "at this time" to select a different status other than: Charge or ship !
So since I didnt actually ship the item, i didnt change the status. Without giving me a chance to explain, refund the money, or anything...they closed my account over night. I awoke to a email stating your account is closed, find another company to process payments. I tried sending the documents to apply for reinstatement.
But they said, "Unfortunately, based on our review of your submitted documents we are unable to reactivate your account. Your Google Checkout account will remain closed.
Please note, this decision is final.
In addition, as stated in section 2b of our Program Policies we require that orders be fulfilled within 24 hours of capturing funds. Google Checkout is not currently optimized to hold funds for back ordered items.
this was their email back to me after i submitted my docs.
I liked their methods of only paying for when its used. I cannot find another company like them. If anyone knows one please let me know.
Google may have stated this all in their policy section, but terminating an account without at bare minimum 24hr notice is bad business. I recommend that anyone who still uses them to take notice of this.
We encountered an error trying to access your server at https://www.galvanizedpail.com/googl...nsehandler.php -- the error we got is Send failed with code: 401. Response body was: Failed to Get Basic Authentication Headers.
What do I need to do to make this error go away?
I solved my first two issues with the buttons... but am still having a couple of other problems.
I completed a transaction with Google Checkout using my sandbox account. I got a confirmation email. I followed a link that said 'retrieve your purchase', and instead got taken to a log-in page on my zen cart that said 'Whoops, your session has expired'. I don't understand why I couldn't retrieve my purchase and why I was taken to the log in page?
Hi,
I installed GC into Zen Cart (http://www.ip-192.com/cart/); I think successfully (no errors); running Sandbox mode.
I didn’t sign up for GC yet. Where do I find the “merchant ID on the Integration page under the Settings tab”?
Should I sign up from Zen Cart Admin or directly on my Google account, which manages two websites?
Google Analytics handles both websites in one account.
From an accounting prospective both websites are treated separately. The second site will incorporate a cart as well.
Should I set up two accounts in general or use only separate e-mail addresses for customer service?
Please advice, right now I still be able to set up everything the way it should be.
Is the latest version still beta?
OldCow,
I use GC (and Paypal) on my US site. Merchant id is set up on your Google Checkout login page (which is separate (or can be) from your analytics, Base, etc. accounts). The GC account information has to be mirrored on your zen-cart admin GC module page. You can't sign up for GC from your zen-cart admin, and zen-cart admin has to have all the correct info from your GC page. You actually can have multiple Google accounts (base, analytics, checkout, etc) and your analytic accounts may or may not be for the same websites as you GC account page. Setting up a GC account involves more steps and takes longer than setting up an analytics account because they need your tax id, bank account info, and must verify them. It makes sense for your Google Analytics account to monitor all your websites, but the way GC is set up, it is talking to only one website at a time (in fact it is talking to very specific secure pages on a website). In any case, since you want to keep the business accounting separate I would definitely set up a separate GC accounts for each business, even if there was a workaround to have one GC account for multiple websites. GC module for zen-cart is beta, GC on Google is beta. As you can see from this thread, you have to get EVERYTHING right in both your GC Account Page and ZC Admin page GC module to succeed in full Level II integration (that is, getting Google to login in to your website and record the buyer and decrement your inventory). The most frequent obstacles to Level II integration is that the zen-cart user did not buy a SSL certificate for their domain, did not specify SSL paths correctly (API call back page, will sometimes work for shared SSLs), or did not correctly set one of the many options, features, or otherwise follow the long and detailed directions, which admittedly can be quite challenging for even intermediate level computer users.
These are my opinions, but I am no expert in these matters. Hope this helps.
Thanks inkspot,
Your advice is very helpful. I do have already a SSL certificate for the website and a PayPal account, but I still getting started with e-commerce. Tips and tricks are always welcome.
Ropu, Google checkout has been working for quite a long time on Zen Cart 1.3.7. PHP 5.2.9. MySQL 5.1.30.
My customer notified me that it is not longer working.
Checked SSL - good, on list. Host verifies that installation is good.
Goes to main_page=time_out after google processes it.
Order doesn't get processed in admin
responsehandler_test.php:
SSL certificate problem, verify that the CA cert is OK. Details:
error:14090086:SSL routines:SSL3_GET_SERVER_CERTIFICATE:certificate verify failed
Nothing being logged in response_error.log and response_message.log, but they are set to 777.
An ideas?
We have been using Google Checkout for a few months and noticed that it was not charging our tax for all of our zones. Google was nice enough to send me the XML file that GC checkout creates and sends them. The zone shows up for shipping but not for tax. This happens for multiple zones. It does work for some zones though. In the XML file it displays all but one zone. which is the zone that caught our eye.
Taxes work fine on our website.

any ideas?
Hi
Ive got a couple of little issues (more anoyances)
1. Tax isnt be added to on each product line on the invoice. It shows above the total and is right but it doesnt show on a line by line basis like my paypal and sagepay modules
2. When i take an order through GC my zen cart doesnt send me a simple tect email with a break down of the order i just get one from google but that has no order break down on it like with the sagepay and paypal ones.
Thanks for any help
Regards
Gareth
Hi, i've got a slight issue with google checkout, i'm hosted with Hostmonster and using their shared ssl. Google checkout works perfect in sandbox mode using https, it posts carts back to zen admin and everything is good :) When i change to live mode it takes me to google checkout, once i've logged in it says Oops! An error has occured. Anyone had this before and fixed it? If so how?
Thanks in Advance, Nicola
Sort of fixed these 2 issues google still isnt gettting zen cart to send mails, however this could be by design. However how do i lock this out per zone. Im thinking of forcing my paypal and GC to UK mainland and my own checkout through sage pay to cover all the off shore uk islands for shipping and tax reasons. Is this possible?
Regards
Gareth
I just upgraded my site...
Got this error
Where do I go to fix this?Quote:

* The Version of the installed module in the Admin UI is v1.4.6a and the one of the package is v1.4.7, Remove/Reinstall the module
It's been over 2 weeks since I left the GC module in a bad state out of sheer frustration... and no one seems to have the answer. When I check out in sandbox mode... it says the order has processed, but then I'm re-directed to a page that says "Oops, your session has expired" when I try to click on the download link.
Can anyone pretty please help me? :(
KD
how do i remove this module? all the install files are corrupted and none of the files are readable. is there some uninstall sql file i can use??
I don't know why, but Google Checkout and FreeOptions don't like each other. I've tried several times to get them working together, but no matter what I do, whenever I activate FreeOptions, the red error under the Google Checkout Button appears, "Freeoptions Ignored"
If anyone knows how to make FreeOptions work with Google Checkout then please post a solution. It's not easy to offer free shipping incentives to everyone else but google Checkout customers.
I'm on Zen Cart v1.3.8a and Google Checkout Module Version v1.4.7
I'm still not getting any answers about the "Whoops, your session has expired" message that I get every time I try to test this module out. Is there ANYONE that can help? Anyone I can even pay to help?
The lack of support for this module is.... as a new zenner... surprising. :(
I've done a search on this support forum and I've seen at least four people ask this question, but there is never an answer that I can find. How do we integrate this module with Super Orders? Has anyone done it or is there a mod for it?
I really need to know and I've searched high and low for the answer without success and apparently there are others needing this same information.
Thanks in advance
Ruth
I have done a search, but cannot find this problem mentioned, although I ask forgiveness if it is there and I just am not seeing it. I presently am running Zencart 1.3.8a with the corresponding Google Checkout module. There may have been a securty patch notice sent which I ignored, but someone has managed to get into my store and add spam in the way that the bottom line of my Zencart has a line of spam for two popular men's pills and all my emails going through my Zencart has the same for the subject line and the email from lines. Where does one edit this information out, and how can I prevent it from happening again. It has already scared away customers, so help and forebearance would be appreciated.

If you're not a forum member, register (it takes 30 seconds), and login. Then you'll be able to access the Security Issues and Reports sections near the top of the page where you can find a lot more information.
I've got Google Checkout installed and it is showing up as a payment method on checkout. When selected as a payment method you can go through to confirm the order but after clicking on 'Confirm' it loops you back to the shopping cart and never brings up Google. It is also not completing anything through Zen Cart, the item remains in the cart. I am not seeing any errors.
Also, is there supposed to be a logo or something. It just shows 'Google Checkout' in text. If there is supposed to be a logo, the fact that it's not there may help sort out what's wrong?
I'm sure I've got something configured incorrectly, I'm just not sure what. Does anyone have any ideas?
Thanks.
I Honestly did not like the sandbox mode so I went live right away.
Really have not had any trouble using it since except that I do not trust the shipping. Some people choose the $1.00 Express. No matter what I change and save the shipping does not always stay the way I set it. I turned off the shipping for GC. My site relies on the USPS and UPS modules for shipping fees. Ask UPS for a tiered rate based on how much you spend on shippng.
I have deleted the checkout button so that I send every customer a GC invoice. GC preauthorizes the cards and I use the GC CP to click "charge card". Works great and no more clients being double charged. Where you see the payment option in checkout for credit card mine says something like "Credit Card - You will receive a payment Invoice from Google Checkout.
I love selling globally without much hesitation. if GC accepts the payment, I ship it when it lands in my bank account.
Try live mode.
Get yourself an HTML/PHP saftware that will compare files.
Recommended for MAC is BBedit (barebones.com)
Araxis Merge is for PC and MAC (Araxis.com).
Download the latest version of GC for Zen Cart and follow the directions and then compare files before uploading. Backup first.
Yes and Nope.
When a client pays the payment invoice GC will create a new order and all the checkout steps including payment and shipping are recorded in the new order. Cool but it doubles our work to close out the orders.
I added Google as another payment method by adding it to the list. So when a client pays, you can record it in their order process.
I've asked this question a few pages back, but never got any responses.
My client has 3 zencart sites. All the same are the latest version with the security patch. And all three have the exact same addons (Google checkout, Supertracker, Monthly Sales reports, Blank sidebox).
Google checkout was working just fine on the website for a month or two and then it stopped transferring over the shipping rates. They use live USPS and UPS. Now shipping is just $1.00 for all choices.
When their stores were on X-cart, there was just one response handler url that needed to be put into the appropriate spot in the Google Checkout account (there is only one GC account). Now, it seems that each zencart store has it's own response handler URL that needs to be inputted into the GC account ???? IF so, why did the GC work on these 3 websites for the first month or so just fine?
I have GC disabled on each site, but the client is desperate to have it working since quite a few sales came through GC as opposed to PayPal and merchant account. So, I don't think providing the 3 stores' URL will be needed.
So, if you have 3 stores, but one GC account, what response handler URL needs to be in the GC account?
And, why did shipping rates quit transferring over to GC altogether? The time between zencart and GC seems to be the same as before ... so I don't think that's an issue.
This issue is urgent ...
Good question. You can try the same response handler and see if GC will like that. Keep checking the GC Tools section for test results. I wonder if there will be an echo when 2 or more people are checking out on 2 or more sites.
I cannot explain why shipping reverts back to the GC defaults. However, I can say that removing enough code to prevent the GC checkout button from showing in the checkout process solved that issue.
Now I send everyone a GC email payment invoice. I also make a note of it in the order comments so the client and I can see the progress of the orders.
I took my whole cart folder and dumped it into my root folder. Now I'm trying Google Checkout all over again. When I make a purchase I can find it in both the Google Checkout (sandbox) account, and in the ZC admin, which I couldn't do before. However, the order still isn't letting me retrieve my download.
I make the purchase, get both notifications from my sandbox buyer & seller accounts, then click on 'retrieve your purchase', and it gives me the 'Whoops your session has expired' page, just like it did before.
Any thoughts?
KD
Is GC able to communicate with your site?
I am having trouble with my Google checkout module. I have one order in my admin module. When I try to view the order details I get this: Fatal error: Call to undefined function zen_draw_form() in /home/ueruqkxc/public_html/admin/orders.php on line 308.
There's also a bunch of coding at the top before the error. If you need to see this text too let me know because it is quite a bit.
Does this error mean I have to define what zen_draw_form() means? When I look in my orders.php file line 38 has "search" between the ().
My site is http://the-accessory.com.
I wish this module was easier to install. the lack of instructions makes a novice zenner pull his hair out. I want to use G-checkout but it looks like pay pal for me, oh well.
i have zencart 1.38a latest google checkout running

I need to get Google Checkout to work as well. Anybody who has successfully gotten this to work, please let me know.
I'm using Advanced Shipper from ceon.net as well, and Google Checkout does not want to recognize the shipping options.
If I change the shipping options to include a Flat Rate shipping price using the stock zen-cart module for flat rate shipping, then the shipping shows up in Google Checkout. But Advanced Shipper options will not. Nothing shows up.
Hello, im looking for some help!
This is my problem, im trying to install gcheckout and when i click the install button in the main admin area, the editable region, which you change the gcart settings in dissapears, so im unable to set up my credentials.
any ideas?
I installed the cart as directed and followed all the instructions. Everything seems to work. its in the modules. it shows up on my site. i put it on. I have the google account, entered all the ID info etc.
when i make a test order, i can see googlecheckout on my sites checkout site, when i choose it, and click confirm to confirm the order, it doesnt do anything. Just sends me back to the beginning of the checkout process where it says, Your order is not complete, please click on the checkout button to finish your order.
when you click the button it starts the checkout process again, and goes into a perpetual loop. i read about 40 pages in this thread, but didnt see anything to help.
anyone?
i am using 1.3.8a
the only addons i have is the security patch.
standard template, standard install.
my site is www.vinyljunkiedistro.com
Two things:
1. I could not open http://www.vinyljunkiedistro.com/goo...nsehandler.php. I should have seen a dialog asking for a password. Instead I got an error page. This suggests that the googlecheckout files may not be installed correctly.
2. You do not have an SSL certificate set up, so you will not be able to get "real" (as opposed to "test") order information back from Google once you fix #1.
I've recently installed Google Checkout but I receieve this error when the GC button is clicked:
I've searched for an answer to no avail. Can anyone tell me what to do to fix this?Quote:

Any help would be greatly appreciated!
I am currently getting the default values and the free shipping option is appearing when it should not. also when I click http://my-cart/googlecheckout/shipping_generator/ it prompts for a usename and password... do I enter anythign there?
I do have free options enabled but only for orders over $20, it works with paypal
Now it appears to be communicating with my cart however.. the free options are no longer passed to it, just usps... Free options still show for regular and paypal checkout
I am getting this error from Google Checkout
I have seen a few other posts where people are experiencing the same thing, but I can't seem to find what the solution is.Quote:

No one has any ideas on how to resolve this?
I can't believe that no one has any ideas on this. Clearly I am not the only person who has experienced this issue.

After a year of no GC issues this pops up.
Quick question..
Is it really worth the heartache of installing this module?
For the second time we've installed it on a clients site and it's not working - is therean update for the 1.4.7 version that needs to be done?
Andy
The Google Analytics option within this module works except for Ecommerce tracking (Only Google Checkout orders get tracked under Ecommerce tracking results).
Is this a limitation with this module, or is there something we are missing? Any workarounds to allow Ecommerce tracking?
after 12 months of no problems at all with google checkout, I have suddenly started to get errors
I checked with the responsehandler_test.php
Nothing has been edited, no settings changed, zencart files havent been touched, and google settings havent been touchedPHP Code:

as far as I can tell, the only changes have been whm/cpanel updates, but the message doesnt suggest any problem as such, other than "Invalid or not supported Message"

anyone any ideas?
Hi,
I am about to attempt to install the Google Checkout mod for Zen Cart and was reading the README file when I saw this:
'If your site is installed on a PHP CGI you must disable Basic Authentication over PHP.'
According to my host, my site does run PHP as CGI, so what are the implications of doing the above?
The issue that I have now is that Google Checkout doesn't always charge shipping.
If the Google Checkout button is clicked on the CART page, everything works great.
If the Google Checkout button is clicked on the product page or elsewhere, shipping is not charged.
The checkout button in each case is accessing the same file.
I can't figure this out.
Google Checkout replied to me saying that the product page is actually sending zero as the shipping price while the CART page is sending the correct shipping price.
Why would the product page send "0" when the CART page is sending the correct price?
Google can't help me with this part.
Hi,
It seems that I have successfully installed Google Checkout with one minor issue!
I'm a bit confused as to how you set up the shipping. I went into my Google sandbox account and set up a Price based Table as a Shipping Method under Settings>Shipping Setup. However when I went to make a test order, that did not show up!
Also in my admin, when I come to setting of "Default Values for Real Time Shipping Rates" there is a 'Shipping Generator' link that says my site is asking for UN and PW info and I put that in and it just keeps asking for it... ?????
What am I doing wrong?
Can someone point me to the right post, I have been reading for hours cant find it... I have both of the fedex mods installed for overnight and home delivery, it shows the most highest cost first, in my admin and in the store settings it does NOT do this. Any help? Also the low order fee seems to be getting taxed in GC
Hope to get this fixed with the shipping ASAp, i have read where people posted questions never found the answer. thanks
Hey fellow Zenners
I've recently started playing with Google Checkout mod on my 1.3.8a zen-cart. I've also got Ceon's URI Mapping mod installed
I can access http://www.worldofstuff.co.uk/google...nsehandler.php and get a login box as expected.
Problem is 2 fold.
1) I'm unable to get into /googlecheckout/shipping-generator as it comes up with the login box. I've set the htaccess as per the mod's instructions.
2) If I add a product and then use the google checkout option I get in Intergration Console error as below:
I've gotCode:We encountered an error trying to access your server at https://secure.worldofstuff.co.uk/googlecheckout/responsehandler.php -- the error we got is Sending failed with HTTP response code: 500.
in my root .htaccessCode:RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} !/googlecheckout.* [NC]
Has anyone come across this or know if I can get Google Checkout working with Ceon's URI Mapper?
Many thanks
Natty
I've since removed my .htaccess files as per http://www.zen-cart.com/forum/showthread.php?p=557924 but I'm getting 404 now. I guess its uri mapping related now.
Nearly have GC installed and working in the sandbox environment. Just have one simple question regarding the shipping generator file.
I am using the Table option, based on total price in cart. My 3 diff' levels for pricing are $25:5.50,50:6.50 and 98.99:7.50. Everything 99 and above ships for free.
Do I need to 'generate' 3 different shipping files for GC or just one?
Ok, now I admit it, I am a bit confused when it comes to setting up the shipping methods in GC.
In my GC admin, I set up a shipping table based on price just as I have in my ZC admin using the 'Table' option. Went to do a test order and on shopping cart page, under the GC button 'Error: Shipping Methods not configured
freeoptions (ignored)' shows up and I'm not sure quite what to do
Any suggestions?
I can't seem to get any response.
The Google Checkout button used on the Product Page interprets the shipping price as 0 (zero)
The Google Checkout button used on the CART page interprets the shipping price correctly.
I use a per unit perweight method for shipping.
How can I resolve this issue?
Test product page:
http://www.bodykits.net/front-lips/acura/nsx/160450/
CART page:
http://www.bodykits.net/index.php?ma...=shopping_cart
Both pages use the same file for the Google Checkout button.
hi,
is this payment add-on not being managed/maintained by its developers?
Im doing a site for my brother-in-law and he wants this payment method... but it looks like a dog to work with...
any advice?
Any idea why GC final_price (i.e. Attribute with price added to base price for each) would make it to GC cart/payment page and why it excludes onetime_charges (i.e. Attribute with one time charges added to entire quantity)?
Example:
Product base price: $1
Quantity ordered: 100
Attribute 1: +$0.10 (price each)
Attribute 2: +$20.00 (One time)
ZC cart shows total of: ($1+$0.10) * 100 + $30.00 = $140.00
GC cart shows total of: ($1+$0.10) * 100 = $110.00
This looks like a bug, any developers would like to comment?
i could be wrong but i dont think this is being developed anymore... i asked if it was and no one has responded... and the last version was on Dec 2007
i would like to use it but it looks to buggy and conflicts with other mods?
You're absolutely right! It's no longer supported and not in development. The only good news is that it's just as old as Zen Cart 1.3.8a so it works because not much has changed with Zen Cart.
As long as it's installed and used as instructed/intended it works and you can check out on our site using the link in my signature.
"INSTALLATION NOTES"
4. Go to http://yourzencart.com/googlecheckou...nsehandler.php
I get this message:

Can some one please explain this in English so I can attempt to fix it?
I've searched troubleshooting and the support thread with not luck yet. :(
thanks.
I'm using Zen Cart 1.3.8a with the Google checkout module - the GC button shows in my cart, but it doesn't appear as a payment option when a user goes through the registration process. Is there any work around for this? I really want my customers to register before paying.
You might want to read Google Checkout policy as you're missing the point of offering GCO. They don't want you to force customers to register. Both PayPal Express Checkout and GCO exists for convenience for the customer to checkout without creating an account or login on the site offering them.
Ouch - thanks! I guess I misunderstood the point of GC - I'll see if I can find a way to get folks to register and still use it.
As long as the registration is not a pre-requisite to use GCO you'd be fine but if it's, then don't let the Google bot catch you :) The other thing to keep in mind is if you enable google checkout on the payment page using the code available in this thread, then it lets your customer register but when they checkout with Google it's free. It doesn't charge them then :)
Zeit: If you have successfully achieved "level 2" integration with zen-cart (your website needs a SSL certificate; a shared one can work), then when the customer checks out on GCO, then Google enters the customer information into your web-site database, thereby effectively registering them.
You are actually not prohibited from registering a user before checkout (although Google doesn't encourage it since it is somewhat redundant). The policies page (https://checkout.google.com/seller/policies.html) states: " If you require users to register or sign in to your site, you must ensure Google Checkout and Buy Now buttons are available before the login process so buyers are able to check out with Google Checkout without having to log in. " In other words, give the customer the option of avoiding the aggravation and allow for their increased sense of security by having them jump to the GCO page. However, as noted above, it is far better for you and your customer to let Google populate your customer database.
McShane:
I am not a developer, but I have successfully integrated GCO into my website, (along with Paypal and payments by mail), and I am glad I did so. I have been a long-time watcher of this page (to keep on top of issues I need to address), and have seen a lot of frustration.
To some degree, most Google Checkout integration packages for shopping carts are essentially Beta software packages. Certainly the zen-cart module is.
A list of commercial e-commerce website packages that have fully integrated Google Checkout according to Google are on this page:
https://checkout.google.com/seller/i...ml?hl=en&gl=GB
A list of google checkout code integrations for everyone else is on this page (notice that OS Commerce and Zen-cart are listed as the two open source carts on the bottom of the page):
http://code.google.com/apis/checkout/samplecode.html
If you are trying to integrate GCO with your zen-cart page, you should not only review this thread, but you should review the information on this page:
http://code.google.com/p/google-checkout-zencart/
It seems that Google hired some developers (like Ropu) to develop GCO modules for a wide range of shopping-carts around 2006, and continued this effort to late 2007 or 2008, and then they pulled back. My guess is the GCO did not take off as much as Google had hoped, but they still continue to put resources in the effort.
In any case, the module basically works, but like the rest of zen-cart, it requires at least a basic understanding of directory structure and HTML code. There are also a few issues that need to be fixed or customized for each website. And of course, for integration to work, your Google account page and Zen-cart page must be set up correctly so they can talk to each other.
Many problems described on this thread seem to relate to two common mistakes:
1) Files were loaded in the wrong directories. For example, for security reasons, no zen-cart website should have kept the name "admin" for their admin directory. You obviously need to place the GCO files in the websites admin directory, or 2) The website owner does not own a SSL certificate (shared SSLs do work), or did not specify the correct path.
There are also a lot of issues related to shipping, but if you read the directions, make sure your zen-cart shipping modules are up to date (the USPS module was updated in Jan 2010), and work with a file editor like Notepad++ (never use notepad or wordpad), you should be ok.
The two biggest coding errors that need to be fixed if you use zen-cart are as follows:
1) The "GC_states" in the 2007 1.4.7 version of GC for zen-cart were wrong in two files. Both added_function_for_google_checkout.php and responsehandler.php need these changes
these lines:
define('GC_STATE_SHIPPED', 105);
define('GC_STATE_CANCELED', 111);
should be:
define('GC_STATE_SHIPPED', 102);
define('GC_STATE_CANCELED', 105);
2) The priority mail option was inexplicably commented out of the file shipping_methods_ccs.php in the googlecheckout directory at about line 50. If you do not un-comment it, and you use USPS and carrier-estimated shipping option, buyers will not be able to select priority mail if you are using USPS.
My biggest annoyance with the GCO module is that it was not coded to include first class shipping for light-weight orders.
[FONT="]Hope all this info helps anyone stumbling across this thread.[/FONT]
Sorry for my ignorance or if I missed something here, I have been looking over this section for 2 days now. I am totally confused on this topic but does the GC require a SSL in order to process orders? I dont get no errors when I try to checkout but when I do try to checkout out it just goes in circles. Once I click confirm order it just takes me back to step one of the checkout process. Anyone have a idea on what I should read to try and find a solution to this.
Thanks in advance to any support.
