Cherry Zen Template Support Thread

Anyone?

I think most templates product_info_display.php files are arranged with a left and right column using a table. So if you are wanting something centred you would probably have to bring the bits you want centred outside of this table.
The way product_info_display.php is constructed very much lends itself to help anyone move stuf about where it clearly marks the start and end of each section, so through trail and error and perhaps using divs and applying css as long as you move bits of code and keep the "chunks" together you can achieve any layout you desire.

Ok,, the image below is what layout I am using right now. What I am trying to do is make the red price bigger and bolder, then move the Item/Model # and # in stock under the price and also move the add cart below that. Can anyone help me on this?

Have you tried adding these blocks of code together one after the other? So below price block add the model below the model add the add to cart... ?

make sure you make a backup.. try this?

I have wrapped the stuff you want to the right of the image in a div and given it a nominal width of 150px for now and have told it to float right.

Ok, I have uploaded it and looks good so far and but the price, stock#, add cart button is to far to the right. Like the image below.

Try changing the float right to float left? Or you could add padding-right:20px or something

Actually you might not need the float.. Just leave te width Nd try that in its own as I removed a br class=clearBoth which I think is what was shifting everything down.

so what do I need to change in the file?

Well I have managed to get the add cart from overlapping the image,,, now the problem I am having is the Item# and the stock# is still centered as the picture shown below.

look at some basic div alignment using css tutorials. it will help you get a grasp of how you can use div's to divide block of code on your page and then use css to position them.

as I said all the "blocks" i.e main lots of info are clearly marked with<!--bof and <!--eof comments so as long as you cut and paste these full blocks you cant really break the page.

other than that I would highly recommend purchasing a premium template, or at least find a free one that is closer to the look you desire. One trap we all fall into is getting a template and then end up turning it into something completly different when we were better off finding one that was what we needed in the first place.

have a play around, css is very much trial and error unless your are a css coding guru and can code from the top of your head.

Ok, when I add that code in the whole page looked like a scramble. Then I had remove it.

Hmm, must be the width of the div. try changing

to a higher value, say
<div style="width:120px;">

Might throw other stuff off so if you have something that pushes your image to the right you will need to reduce that by the same amount you instead the width by to keep similar layout.

as I suspected, there isnt enough room to the right side of the image so therefore you need to reduce what ever you changed that pushed the image tawrds the centre to make more room

Is it possible to add language packs to work with cherry zen? I have added a couple and they appear in my admin but not on the template.

Do I just have to copy some of the language files to the cherry zen folders or is it more complicated than that?

Also would the language flags appear on the template for the viewer to choose?

I am applying it do http://demo.mineralz.co.il while modifying to RTL, mostly done.

My difficulties are around the top header tabs and searchbox.

As you can see there's an offset between the tabrightE.gif's and the <spans>'s, I can't figure out why - can you hint ?

Second - the searchbox is too small in chrome and whiteout it's rounded-search-input.gif , while in IE it looks good.

I'm using Zen-Cart 1.5.1 and the latest version of Cherry Zen Template.
The installation was simple and easy. Everything seems to be working fine except I have a small problem. I want to add Easy Slider 1.7 to my site but I can't get it positioned correctly. As you visit my site you will immediately notice the slider is off-center. I can't seem to locate the proper settings for it in the template.

I was trying to find the text for "Congratulations! You have successfully installed your Zen Cart® E-Commerce Solution.
Welcome Guest! Would you like to log yourself in?" So I could change that to.

Can someone help.

Have you tried just putting it in define_main_page.php?

Yes, that was my first thought but I had doubts about it before I even tried it because it's not an html code. As far as I know the "Define Pages Editor" only allows you to use html files in that area. If you know of a way I'm all ears.

how to change the site width to fixed width?

I am using Cherry Zen with a site built in v1.3.9.
I have created a category 'Weekly Specials' which shows the items on special. The layout is a grid instead of rows, just for this page and I can't figure out how to add the item/model number to the product listings under the 'Specials' category.

Hello again. I am having some trouble, not sure why or what I did (if anything) but I am getting the following error log

The result is a white page when an item is added into the cart, any thoughts as to what I should do? I also found something in the cache that started out with sess=fakit4 etc. which I deleted after reviewing all the zc correct files.

ok I have an issue. When I hit Ctrl then + Chrome, Firefox & IE Browsers I get this:

Can you see the difference? The Model# & Stock jump from the side of the image to the bottom left of the main product image. Can someone help me with this?

I recently upgraded my cart from v1.3.9h to v1.5.5e. I am using the Cherry Zen template and the two problems I'm having are:

1) I cannot get any template at all to load, no matter which one I select.
2) Cherry Zen background on the "product" page is blue where it should be white, in the description area.

The front page displays the template correctly, but the product pages don't. I went as far as re-uploading/installing the Cherry Zen template but nothing has changed as of yet.

Any help with the two issues above will be greatly appreciated. In the meantime, I'll keep searching for some answers.

There have been a whole lot of changes in the ecommerce world since last this template was updated. MySql, PHP, and ohter items can be affecting your previous settings tremendously.
It's really a great time to move up to responsive vs "fluid" as a template choice.
Try adding the color change mod to the respsonsive classic, use lat9's clone a template to create a new one with your name, and modify the result to fit your needs.
The benefits are:
Color Change Mod allows easier color manipulation, Clone a Template gives you a copy of the Changed Responsive to "play" with while the Responsive/Color Change remains to fall back on as you make the new template your own.

Great template, I'd like to report a bug on zen cart v1.5.5e, I get a blank page in 'checkout' and in 'Log in', both pages return blanks. Hope it is compatible with v1.5.5e soon, many thanks!!

This template was designed for a much earlier version of Zen Cart and is also not a responsive template. Your switch back to responsive classic seems to have cured the problem.
