Google Checkout module for ZC 1.3.x (beta)

i am trying to install paypal on two sites, and i have been getting two different result

site 1 1.3.8a(which is in a subfolder) - when i go to the shopping cart the googlecheckout icon is faded and says "not available for these items" im stuck there.:unsure:

site 21.3.9b (root) - everything seems fine until i click the button checkout, it says opps, we can't process your request or something like that.:unsure:

Payment modules consist of a minimum of two files: the module and its language file. You've evidently dumped stuff into /includes/modules/payment but failed to put corresponding files into /includes/languages/english/modules/payment. Well google checkout v1.4.7 which i am trying to install includes a file "googlecheckout.php" which goes into the /includes/languages/english/modules/payment/, which is where i uploaded the file. The 2 files that the error messages say are missing don't even exist to be uploaded. I tried re-uploading all of the files a few times and double checked all the directories and still I get the error even though I have the googlecheckout.php language file in the correct directory.

Hi, I am currently rebuilding my site using Zencart ver 1.3.9h. I decided to install Google checkout 1.47 with it as well as PayPal (which is what I usually use).

I have never come across a more difficult add on that the Google checkout one. I have followed the instructions as best as possible given that they are not written for those of us who are not master programmers, ( I usually get by without too much difficulty).

I have told the Google checkout system that I do not want to use it's own shipping rates and that I want to use my own using the shipping addons that I have installed but, it still comes up with:

Error: Shipping Methods not configured
rm1stpacket (ignored)
rm1stpacketsf (ignored)
rmamisfsmallpacket (ignored)
rmamisfsmallpacket500 (ignored)
rmamsmallpacket (ignored)
specialdelivery (ignored)
ukzr (ignored)

When I have items in the shopping cart and am ready to checkout. To date I have not found any real explanation in the documentation or on the forums etc to explain to me in plain english why this happens, it's like I'm telling the checkout to ignore it's own shipping system and it in turn is ignoring my instructions.

Is there anybody out there that can possibly help please. Considering how easy it is to install PayPal I fail to see why it has been made so difficult to install Google checkout.

I agree with all the above. I've been fighting with this mod for months and still don't have it working. If no one is interested in helping with this thing, then perhaps zencart should stop offering it as a download.

Has any one figured out how to get google checkout to work on zen cart 1.3.9h The files that need to be modified are to different for the new code help please

This solution is not included in the cart for a reason. I believe that The Google (EXPRESS) checkout solution needs to be redesigned from the ground up. When this solution was planned and executed it was to make the shoppers have an easier time checking out while giving the bulk of information to Google. My clients have time and time again skipped the Google checkout option over and over. The premise that the customers do not want to make accounts at stores they shop at is wrong. Plain and simple. My customers bypass Express Checkout nearly every time. I might as well remove it from my cart. This checkout solution in my opinion was horribly malformed without the business client at the center. Customers are used to having express checkout after the initial account creation and initial purchase. Then the Express checkout as previously encountered comes into play for them. It was a nice convenient idea about this solution but it is not coming to fruition for our site. Out of 250 transactions in the past week and 1 person used the Google Checkout DOH! Does that stay anything about how wrong the Google Express Checkout premise was?
You can build the best mouse trap in the world but if no one can operate it. It's useless. This module has no working documentation to explain in plain language how to setup and admin this module.
THIS MODULE GETS A -20 out of 10 VOTE. This module should be scrapped along with the Zen Cart Google checkout solution. It barely works with this cart at all. For all the headache it took to install and make function by reading the PHP code and force the cart to work with the real time shipping module. Then to get one person to use it a month is ridiculous and not giving any ROI.
If you want to use Google checkout you should use Google's easy web store also. That's what Google always wants. You to depend on them for all you needs. So Building need into their checkout solution is just good business, even if it doesn't install, or function. find the Google forum for the Zen Cart solution and enter a post then the module writers will take a look at your site for you and make it work the way they want it too... lol. But they will try to help you in the process.

Hey guys, I've just installed the Google Checkout Module and I've installed it, it is the only payment method and it shows up during checkout but it never sends me out to Google to make the actual payment. I'm complete new to ZenCart and I have no idea what the problem could be. Any help you all could provide would be greatly appreciated! It's zen cart v1.3.9h and the I downloaded and installed the module from the ZC site and installed it according to the directions.

Finally I got it to work. The only problem I have is with the free shipping option. For some reason when you use free shipping option that say for example buyer must spend $50 to get free shipping google checkout shows the free shipping option no matter what even if the buyer has less than the amount to get free shipping. Hum I cant figure it out. Any suggestions?:censored:

I can see various opinions here on google checkout.

I wanted to ask 2 questions.

1. Does google checkuot work in 1.3.9h ?

2. For people using this MOD do you think it is worthwhile?
