Yep.. Re-Write the code that manages the image naming..

Any pointers? :)
Thanks.
Honestly, if you are needing pointers then this may not be the project to take on. The way that IH stores images is a 'caching' type system and changing the naming conventions is problematic because that approach is deep down and inherent in the structure of IH. There are other image handler systems that do not use this caching type approach.
While the filenames of the images do contribute to their inclusion in search results for image searches on Google and other search engines, the evidence from performing these searches indicates that context is more important. Make sure that the product the image is on has a good name and a good, valuable, relevant description, and the images should be indexed appropriately.
and has been pointed out
So with regards to Image Handler and file naming it will require a fairly substantial change to the way it is architected to change the file naming function.Quote:

I've a problem with zen cart 1.5.1 .
Once installed IH4 following instructions, it has not modified my custom template, but the dafault template.
The template i'm using is working well.
Installed on zen cart 1.5.0 with custom template there wasn't errors.
not consider my previous post, thanks all for this great plugin : ) works well on 1.5.1
Suggestion for the description of the plugin on the plugin's page:
"It is strongly suggested that if you are NEW to Zen Cart and web development that you read these threads BEFORE you install Image Handler 4."
That thread is over 700 pages long! :P I think that is a bit of a large task for someone who might want to install the plugin. I think what you mean is that you suggest someone reads those two posts, right?
And, a link to this version 4 thread would be a convenience most would appreciate.
If this is tested to work with 1.51, can the plugin page say so?
Thanks!
