This fix will take care of the issue with your sideboxes.
Just unzip the file and upload the entire includes folder to your server.

Good Evening Clyde,
Thanks for the css file.
I have installed it and increased the side box upto 150px and it looks good now.
I am still having an issue with the flash header in as much the main body of the header refuses to settle on the left hand boundary. Currently I have the length limited so it looks OK.

in admin -> configuration -> layout settings
make sure that both the sidebox width and the column width are both set to 150.
Right now you have the sidebox set to 150 but the column width is set at 80.

Try making the highlighted changes and see if that helps
#logoWrapper{
margin: 0;
/*background-image: url(../images/header_bg.jpg);
background-repeat: repeat-x;
background-color: #ffffff;*/
height:150px;
width:850px;
}
Clyde,
Thanks for the reply, I have made the adjustments you suggested, I have increased the length of the header to 850 and I have left the results for you to see as they are only cosmetic. The left side remains 'fixed' the right side moves out.
I use the same type of header at http://www.bikesforsale.net.au and http://www.livestockforsale.net.au and http://www.bwf.com.au also I used the patchshop header in the previous version of Zencart with SimpleZen template.
I will keep investagating
Clyde,
Thanks for the assistance, still no go, I think I will give up on the flash header for a few days.
I have found that Adobe Flash Reader will not yet work with the 64bit Version of IE, 32 works fine.
Before I start on the IE Style sheet you might like to look at http://www.thepatchshop.com.au it seems that the Category Font size is different in IE to FF and the long cat name is pushing the box out. I am not sure if that is something for your template design or just the way I have it setup.
Thanks for all of your assistance
