Re: Winchester Responsive
Is there a conflict between this template and Image Handler? I did a fresh install of Zen Cart, then I installed Image Handler. So far so good all looks good. I have the option for Image Handler in the tool menu under Admin. You click on it and page opens up titled Image Handler. Then I added the template troubles start. Now when you go to tools menu Image Handler is there and a new option as well "Flexible Footer". Now when you click on Image Handler the page opens but it is titled "Flexible Footer". It still looks like Image Handler. When you click on "Flexible Footer" that menu opens and its options. But when I use Image Handler to add multiple images of a product I am not sure it is working correctly? Can someone help? thanks

Re: Winchester Responsive
use developer tool box and search slide out or go to includes/templates/winchester black/common/tpl_main_page.php
go to line #364 and comment out the jquery for the slider.

No, there is no conflict. The problem you are seeing is actually with the flexible footer columns plugin. I believe that it has been fixed in an updated version of that plugin so you can refer to that plugins updated files to update the version in the template if you like.
Thanks,
Anne

Re: Winchester Responsive
Firstly, I want to thank you for making beautiful templates available.
I am a new user of zen cart and have uploaded this template to use. When I click on the 'product details' button, I receive this message, 'WARNING: An Error occurred, please refresh the page and try again.' I am not getting anything useful in the logs. When I revert to the default template, I am able to view the page. Any suggestions?

My guess is that you have a plugin/plugins installed that have files in your old override folder that you have not copied over to the new override folder.

Re: Winchester Responsive
Hi Anne,
Thanks for a great template! I have been using it for a few months and it is the best one I have found thus far. I do however have a problem, I recently upgraded to 1.5.4 and thought that I had caught all the files that needed to be merged, but I must have missed one as I have now lost the 'view all' button from the product categories and for the life of me can't seem to find it in the files. Could you let me know which file the code for this is in and I'll check and see what I can find. I know that this template hasn't been tested on this version yet but I couldn't see any major issues with any of the files.
Thanks

Yes, this template has been tested with 1.5.4 and there are no problems.
You have overwritten the includes/classes/split_pages_result.php file
Thanks,
Anne

Re: Winchester Responsive
I first want to say how much I really like this theme. I am new to ZenCart and I am learning a lot. For your theme in the browser tab, it puts Winchester Responsive......
How do I change this?
Also the orange color, is there a way to change this as well?
-
Re: Winchester Responsive
Also the specials banner at the top, how do you remove or change it?

I figured this out, it was in the manual but I over looked it.

If you do a search of the FAQs section of this site you will find a tutorial for how to change your site title.
You can change the colors in the stylesheet.css file
Thanks,
Anne

I found out how to do this, at least I think I did. I went to includes/languages/english/winchester_responsive/meta_tags.php and made the changes as you see below but the title remains the same. What am I doing wrong?
Code:
// page title
define('TITLE', 'OCS Store');
// Site Tagline
define('SITE_TAGLINE', 'Quality products, low prices!');
// Custom Keywords
define('CUSTOM_KEYWORDS', 'ecommerce, open source, shop, online shopping');
// Home Page Only:
define('HOME_PAGE_META_DESCRIPTION', '');
define('HOME_PAGE_META_KEYWORDS', '');
// NOTE: If HOME_PAGE_TITLE is left blank (default) then TITLE and SITE_TAGLINE will be used instead.
define('HOME_PAGE_TITLE', 'OCS Store'); // usually best left blank

Maybe you need to clear your cache to see the change. Maybe you have not uploaded the file to the override folder.
Thanks,
Anne

I found the issue, I was cached. The final thing I would like to changes is the menu names on the top navigation. I would like to change "Categories" to "Products, etc. What file do I need to edit to make these changes?

You can use the admin--tools--developers toolkit to find the exact line of the files that need to be edited.

Re: Winchester Responsive
Hi Anne,
I have found a problem that I have been able to locate to part of this template, and I suspect this file; tpl_modules_product_listing.php. I get no products displayed when clicking the all products, specials, featured products and new products pages. I managed to get the specials, new products to work by using the zencart default (not ideal as some formatting is out) but the others do not. Here is the error message I am getting from the log file;
PHP Fatal error: 1109:Unknown table 'p' in field list :: select count(p.products_id) as total ==> (as called by) /includes/classes/split_page_results.php on line 86 <== in /includes/classes/db/mysql/query_factory.php on line 155
although this error says split_page_results I have managed to trace it back to tpl_modules_product_listing.php at which point I am lost as to the problem, so suspect that it is further in another file somewhere.
The error displayed to customers is 'WARNING: An Error occurred, please refresh the page and try again.' obviously doing so does not work. Just wondering if you could shed any light on this as it is definitely a template issue as the default works fine.

This is not an inherent problem with the template package. My guess is that you have a plugin installed that has files in the old override folder that you have not copied to the new template override folder.
Thanks,
Anne

Hi Anne,
This is the only template that I have setup and used on this site, and the template was setup first. There are a few mods installed but none have template files that conflict with this template, the only one with template files is the about us page mod.
The only thing that has changed recently has been updating to 1.5.4, all files that required merging have been, so maybe it doesn't gel as well with the newer required default template files that haven't been over ridden?

Since you did not provide this info in your other post, I was only guessing.
If you upgraded and did not check the core overwrite files in the template package, this is the problem. The template overwrites the includes/classes/split_pages_result.php file.

Anne

Re: Winchester Responsive
Hi! I loooooove this template and this thread has basically been like my bible the past week while I modify my site! But I haven't found anything on what I need...
For starters, I am really not very familiar with php (I'll be honest, not well-versed in anything more advanced than html) but have been able to figure out *most* things so far.
On my site (http://thevegansexshop.co/shop/ --homepage is SFW, though there is a banner that reads "The Vegan S3x Shop"), I have the Westminster New template installed, and on the top menu bar I want to remove the "Categories" and "Contact" links and replace with an autopopulating list of my categories. I know how to remove "Categories" and "Contacts," BUT I don't understand php enough to figure out how to put my categories list there (especially automatically). I would prefer to be able to have them auto fill (like how the drop down menu for Products autofills), BUT if that's not possible, I don't mind manually adding them and changing as necessary.
Here is an image of what I have now:
Attachment 15092
(I removed my banner from the image so as not to offend anyone. This is completely SFW)
Here is an example of what I want:
Attachment 15093
(also SFW)
I'm pretttttty sure the file I need to modify is includes/templates/override/templates/tpl_modules_mobile_categories_tabs.php (at least, that is what I used to remove a link that was in the menu by default and it worked...) Here is the code for that file:

Re: Winchester Responsive
Good morning,
I'm having a problem with the handheld menu display. When viewing a product page on my 10" android tablet, the menu stops working. The icon disappears altogether and leaves what would be listed scattered across the logo area. When viewing on my laptop, the icon is there (though i'm sure it shouldn't be) but it doesn't function at all.
Any insight would be great.

This problem is not present in the template out of the box. I would recommend back tracking through your changes until you find the point where the problem started. This template needs the patch for the slimmenu that is posted in the Westminster New thread:

No, there is no conflict. In the older version of flexible footer menu (the version installed in this template) it overwrites the title of the image handler page. If you want this fixed you can install the newest version of the flexible footer menu to this template.
Thanks,
Anne

Hi Anne,
Thank you for your reply.
It appears to happen when Zen LightBox is installed.
Has anyone else experienced this and come across a solution. I'm currently searching for a fix.
Many thanks
Kerry

Re: Winchester Responsive
Hi Anne,
I think I may have stumbled across an SSL problem which seems to be linked to href="http://link-for-non-js-users.html" which is in the <div class="slide-out-div"> for the left-slide-out. Firstly on the SSL site it seems to throw up an error "Only Secure Content is displayed", if you choose to ignore this warning, the left slide box displays as expected, if you ignore it the left side box displays at the very bottom of the page as a static item. Also, when choosing to ignore the warning, you are directed to the http:// site rather than remainig on the https:// site.
The website I refer too is https://www.blackfishcampus.com
I have attached images of the URL Bar in IE9 (but it also occurs in Chrome, Firefox and Opera) and the warning I refer too.
Please can you offer any advice as to how to overcome this problem?
Many thanks in advance,
Bob

If you want to install any plugin that uses jquery you need to double check that the main library is not being loaded twice.
Thanks,

Just change the http:// https:// in includes/templates/override/common/tpl_main_page.php

Hi Anne,
Thanks for the input, but now I am little confused. I made the changes in admin/includes/configure.php and /includes/configure.php but I can't for the life of me see where to make the changes in the /includes/templates/westminster/common/html_header.php!
This is the code at the top of that file, in my site.
I already have the Base href set to SSL should I be changing something else?

Re: Winchester Responsive
Great template, but I have a problem with multilanguage web. English without problem. But I offer website in German, Czech and French language and if I edit for ex. ABOUT US , website show me "O ns". I use 1.5.4 version with UTF8, what is it possible to change? Old items, like "Conditions of use",... are without problems with accents...

This is not a template related problem, it is a character set problem. If you do a forum search for this problem you will find many threads with the answer to how to fix it.

I have tried various resize options including image and canvas - but the image remains squashed.
Then, how to remove the red wrapper at top of main page?

Re: Winchester Responsive
Couple of issues have arisen since I started populating the site.
Fresh install 1.5.4
Plugins:
IH4
Easy Populate - not used at this stage
Cross-sell advanced
Issues:
Attribute drop down not working - displaying elected radio buttons
Cross sell not working
Image handler not working

These issues are not template related. My guess is that you have not properly installed the plugins.

You will probably need to use a combination of cropping and resizing to get your images to look good in any slide show.
If you want to make css changes to the template I would recommend using chrome and the web devloper tools which will tell you the line of which file needs to be edited.
Thanks,
Anne

I'll chip away, but it's only the one image that's distorting. Weird.

Winchester Responsive - Share and connect
Where do I edit the links for social media?
I have looked in Admin/Developer's Tool Kit.
I have searched this thread, and global forum search.

I believe that is happening because you have no ezpages showing in the header. If you are not going to use any ezpages in the header menu I would recommend removing the code for the ezpages in the includes/templates/winchester_responsive/templates/tpl_modules_mobile_categories_tabs.php
Thanks,

Re: Winchester Responsive
Hi Anne ,
Thanks for putting together these fabulous templates.
I want to develop this Winchester responsive template from a clean install of Zencart 1.5,4 then add your template Winchester responsive
I have had 5 unsuccessful attempts as the mobile and tablet screens seem to misplace the header wrapper top middle content Example shown below
Attachment 15203
I have successfully loaded the Winchester black and all works great.
If all the .css files of the Winchester black are copied to my installation of Winchester Responsive it all works as it should but I have a black version and I need the white layout.
I have downloaded the template from Zencart and also your website but the results are the same.
Your help would be greatly appreciated.
Kind regards
Tom

Hi Anne,
I'm trying to disable the back to top mod and have tried deleting the back_to_top.min.js but this breaks the product info tabs? I've also tried adding display: none; to the stylesheet but this doesn't do anything.
Any ideas?
Thanks

Hi I'm new to this too.
You need to edit english.php file which can be found around line 13 in your
Catalog/public_html/responsive/includes/languages/winchester_responsive/english.php

Click on the blank line directly below "Share and Connect", then click on the "edit" button
Change the links in the text box to match the links to your social media pages and click on the "update" button.

Re: Winchester Responsive
Hi Anne
Thanks so much for the wonderful work you do with these templates. Just one question regarding the three banners/images under the slideshow and main page text. I have looked and can't find a mention to this in the winchester_responsive.html file.
If I go to Tools/Define Pages Editor and choose the define_main_page.php file in a plain text editor I can see the following at the end of the text:
<a href="<?php echo zen_href_link(FILENAME_PRODUCTS_NEW); ?>"><img src="includes/templates/winchester_responsive/images/home3.png" class="ad" alt="new arrivals" /></a>
<a href="<?php echo zen_href_link(FILENAME_SPECIALS); ?>"><img src="includes/templates/winchester_responsive/images/home.png" class="home-ad ad" alt="specials" /></a>
<a href="index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=8&products_id=18"><img src="includes/templates/winchester_responsive/images/home1.png" class="ad" alt="your product title" /></a>
</div>
</div>
Is this the only way to edit the images and links to these three images, or is it somewhere else in the admin section? I have looked in the Banner Manager and cannot find it there.
Thanks :smile:

Re: Winchester Responsive
I uploaded this template to my test site and it was working beautifully. But when I moved the entire store to my actual site the slides on the main page disappeared. The slide show is still enabled in the configuration, but the banner manager is my old one. It doesn't have any of the new stuff that was added when I originally added this template. So I decided to re-load the template and it still didn't fix the problem. I have no idea what is going on.:no:
Anyway, what are the files that would affect the banner manager? I figured it would be the admin files, so I checked them, but they are all there and appear to be correct.
Thanks for any help you can give me.

Re: Winchester Responsive
I got everything working on my website just fine. But now I'm having issues with it on tablet devices. It works fine on mobiles, just not tablets. On the tablet vertically the header menu completely disappears. Horizontally, it looks like it should be there b/c the drop down arrows are visible but the words aren't. The menu titles do not exist, but in the drop down menu the font is just white so it can't be seen. It should be black.
Thanks in advance for any help.

Re: Winchester Responsive
Greetings All,
I've made one fix and one upgrade to the Home Page Banner Slider that I wanted to share. :smile:
The Fix - Banners not displayed in the order set in the banner manager:
Look in: includes\templates\winchester_responsive\common\tpl_home_slider.php
Find
Code:
$banner = $db->Execute("SELECT banners_id, banners_title, banners_image, banners_html_text, banners_open_new_windows, banners_url FROM " . TABLE_BANNERS . " WHERE status = 1 AND banners_group = 'homepageslide'");
Add order by banners_sort_order to end of query
Code:
$banner = $db->Execute("SELECT banners_id, banners_title, banners_image, banners_html_text, banners_open_new_windows, banners_url FROM " . TABLE_BANNERS . " WHERE status = 1 AND banners_group = 'homepageslide' order by banners_sort_order");
The Upgrade - Added the ability to NOT show Banner Title on the Banner image selectively by Banner:
Look in: includes\templates\winchester_responsive\common\tpl_home_slider.php
Find - There are 3 instances
Code:
<span class="banner"><span>' . $banner->fields['banners_title'] . '</span></span>
Replace With
Code:
<span class="banner">'.( strtolower($banner->fields['banners_title']) != 'none' ? '<span>' . $banner->fields['banners_title'] . '</span>' : '' ).'</span>
To disable the display of the Banner Title, just enter the work none or NONE for the title. It's not case sensitive!
Hope this helps! :D

$banner = $db->Execute("SELECT banners_id, banners_title, banners_image, banners_html_text, banners_open_new_windows, banners_url FROM " . TABLE_BANNERS . " WHERE status = 1 AND banners_group = 'homepageslide' order by banners_sort_order");
The Upgrade - Added the ability to NOT show Banner Title on the Banner image selectively by Banner:
Look in: includes\templates\winchester_responsive\common\tpl_home_slider.php
Find - There are 3 instances
Code:
<span class="banner"><span>' . $banner->fields['banners_title'] . '</span></span>
Replace With
Code:
<span class="banner">'.( strtolower($banner->fields['banners_title']) != 'none' ? '<span>' . $banner->fields['banners_title'] . '</span>' : '' ).'</span>
To disable the display of the Banner Title, just enter the work none or NONE for the title. It's not case sensitive!
Hope this helps! :D

You're welcome Anne. I'm using v1.3, so it doesn't have the fix. Just downloaded 1.4 to see what else has been updated!
Thanks again for sharing and supporting such a great responsive template! :clap:

ZC 1.5.4 Winchester Responsive

I have searched through the thread, and looked for the toggle for Discount Coupons and Gift Certificates. The Admin>Modules>Order Totals have been turned off.
Near the footer, these links still appear:

Re: Winchester Responsive
Try to figure 2-3 things....
1 - How can I hide the "top specials bar" ?
2 - How can I hide the menu (categories, information, contact) in the header ?
3 - Where can I find a comprehensive tutorial about how the "layout boxes controller" work ? I turn thing ON/OFF and don't see change. Ex : language selection. Do I have to turn thing ON and go somewhere else to see it on my page ?
For the last, it's a beautiful template ! Thanks Anne !

Can this be changed from this
$list_box_contents[0][] = array('params' => 'class="productListing-data"',
'text' => TEXT_NO_PRODUCTS);
To this?
$list_box_contents[0][] = array('params' => 'class="productListing-data"',
'text' => More new products will be added soon. Please check back later.);

I'm thinking that the reason this question was asked is that the cart will show TEXT_NO_PRODUCTS when selecting Featured Products and there are none.
The correction that I have found for this is in the file includes/modules/winchester_responsive/product_listing.php.
There seems to be an errant line return in the file that causes the php to break. What that portion of the file is trying to do is to NOT show a Featured Products if there are none.
I have found that changing
PHP Code:
$list_box_contents[0][] = array('params' => 'class="productListing-data"',
'text' => TEXT_NO_PRODUCTS);
to
PHP Code:
$list_box_contents[0][] = array('params' => 'class="productListing-data"','text' => TEXT_NO_PRODUCTS);
causes the code to work correctly. IOW, if there are no Featured Products, the customer is not given that as a choice on the Categories page.
I haven't look to see if this problem is a carry over from the Column Layout mod.

While this did fix part of the problem, if the flexible footer menu still lists Featured, you get the dreaded TEXT_NO_PRODUCTS.
More research to be done....

That's really strange. Please let me know if you figure anything out about this.

1 and 2. If you are going to make css changes to the template I recommend using chrome and its web developer tools. They will tell you the exact line of the file that needs to be edited.
3. If you do a search on the FAQs on this site you will find a tutorial about the layout boxes controller
Thanks,
Anne
