Yes, I did install the module via Admin -> Tools -> Image Handler.
Any other ideas?
Did you install IH for 1.3.5? The reason I am asking is if you did not you need to make sure that the changes from IH are merged into the following files:
/includes/modules/additional_images.php
/includes/modules/main_product_image.php
/includes/modules/pages/popup_image/header_php.php
/includes/modules/pages/popup_image_additional/header_php.php
/admin//includes/modules/category_product_listing.php
I have IH working fine on v1.3.5 and yes it's an upgrade not new install.

Re: Image Handler 2 Support
Yes, I installed IH for 1.3.5.
Did you have to make any special file deletions because you previously used IH1?
-
Re: Image Handler 2 Support
I just installed IH2 again. Before I did this, I first went through the production site and my local site and removed ALL files from IH1 and IH2. Then I did the IH2 install again. A couple of resolutions:
1) I now see the "i" icon next to Catalog > Categories/Products > Category
2) I no longer get the error when clicking Catalog > Products Image Manager as this menu option no longer exists (obviously a hold over from IH1)
3) I DO get image resizing now!
New problem:
After I add an image via the Image Handler, the category page of the product I edited goes blank! (Front end) On the admin side, Tools > Image Handler, the whole section below
Quote:
Product: #XXX Product Name
Image name Default size Medium size Large size Action
is also blank! I can't see any of the images I just uploaded.

Do you see the image you just added on the catalog side?

Re: Image Handler 2 Support
Again, thanks for your quick reply.
If I click Catalog > Categories/Products > Category > Product > Preview, I see a dead link where the image should be. If I right click this, I see the image URL. I copy that image URL to the address bar and get a Forbidden error--the uploaded image has a permission of 600!
If I click Tools > Image Handler then the product name and display, I see nothing below those headers (see my last post).
But, now... I've just deleted that product, added a new one and tried adding a new image... and it worked! I'm cautiously hopeful, but I think I now have this working.
-
Re: Image Handler 2 Support
Is there any possibility of getting some help with my above posted issue? The image showing on hover is the same size as the original image...
Thanks!

Re: Image Handler 2 Support
very very nice module :thumbsup:
Why does all images go into the folder bmz_cache?
For batch upload I prefer the standard way of archiving. For example: If normal image will be placed in folder images/clothes the small and large images will be placed in folder
images/small/clothes
images/large/clothes
Is it possible to upload to these folders instead the bmz_cache?
-
Re: Image Handler 2 Support
You're missing the whole point of Image Handler. All you do is upload your best quality image to images/ and all the rest is done automatically with resizing done on the fly.
-
Re: Image Handler 2 Support
I understand it right. But when you want to import a batch of products, more than 2000, you don't want to upload every image seperately. I want to organize these images (more than 3000), like the way it should be, where the folders images/small and images/large are meant to be for.
-
Re: Image Handler 2 Support
Of course you can mass upload the images, but you only need upload the one image per product (rather than 3) and you upload them to images/(and to subcategories if you wish to organise them). You don't need medium and large versions at all.
But if you're insistent on having small (incidentally, there isn't an images/small directory in the standard ZC), medium and large variants that you create yourself, then you have no need for IH anyway.

You're right Ryk. But then I mis the nice zoom

Re: Image Handler 2 Support
Personally I hate that as it always seems to pop up at the wrong moment!
But at least I understand what you're reasoning is now. I vaguely remember someone else offering some sort of zoom facility, but I wouldn't know where...or when.

Re: Image Handler 2 Support
I've just installed IH2 over a zen-cart upgraded to v1.3.5 and generally I'm very happy with the features and implementation of IH2. Its clean, simple and straightforward - particulalry if installed first time straight into v1.3.5.
I have just one query at the moment. I've read back through the various forum threads and visted breakmyzencart.com/ih-doc but i can't find any reference to the handling of images destined for categories and attributes. The interface seems to be oriented towards product images and for me that works fine. However adding images for the other purposes seems to be out of this module's scope. Am i right? In which case do i need to get my hands dirty with the SMALL/MED/LRG directory stuff?
-
Re: Image Handler 2 Support
I don't know what I've done wrong, I've removed and reinstalled twice now! Everything is working great on the admin side, but on the customer side, the product image no longer shows on the product info page. It shows everywhere else, like on the category pages. Also, when you click the larger image link for both the product image and the additional images, just a blank screen comes up. Can someone help? Here is a link: http://www.qtpiekids.com/index.php?m...products_id=16
I've read through both threads but haven't found anything with this exact problem :(
Thanks!

Re: Image Handler 2 Support
@lucidlee - If you look in the images directory, you will see sub-directories for a variety of things like categories, banners & attriobutes
Those images have their sizes set in admin>configuration>images and there's only one size for each.
@danielle - have you set the bmz_cache permissions to 777?
-

You can change this by going to Admin -> Configuration -> Images and change the setting of Product Info - Image Width and Product Info - Image Height to something else.
You do not have to change this setting if you really want you product image to be 120 X 120 just keep in mind that the zoom is using the product image as the display of the enlarged image.
Hope this makes sense.

Re: Image Handler 2 Support
I have installed ZC 1.3.2 and IH2, now i have the problem that only small images are visible :-( All these pictures are in the standard /images path. If i klick to enlarge, a popup window is displayed but the image is missing. I copied the graphic link address and found out that this medium image should be located in images/medium/XXX_MED.jpg
But this image is not available in the medium directory :-(
Whats wrong there? Permissions are set to 777, resize is enabled but the medium and large pictures are not automatically generated. Can anybody help?

Re: Image Handler 2 Support
Hello,
for some of my contributions, I need the picture attributes se to chmod 755 or 777. The imagefolder and all folder in it are set to 777.
When I load up a picture with the categories.php - site the attributes are o.k. when I load up additional pictures with the image-handler, the attributes of this picture are set to chmod 650 and are not viewable in the "whats new" - Scroller or in the lightbox contribution, sice I change the chmod via FTP.
Does anybody know, hhow I can fix this problem.
Michael

yeah.. go into Admin -> Tools -> Image Handler 2 ... then choose your product, display it.. and go from there

Got a site for us? All I would say is that you should use THIS version for 1.3.5, not the one on Tim's site (where's Tim these days?!?)

yeah i did. the only other mods i made to the new 1.3.5 installation before i added IH2 was login sidebox , user tracking and admin levels
if you can point me to some formal documentation that would really help. thanks.

Why would you need to zoom the large image? The large image is currently the biggest image setting you have, if you're able to zoom large image, what image are you going to display?
Currently the small image when zoomed displays medium, the medium should display large and large will display what?
To get a definitive answer to when this will be implemented if ever, you can contact Tim who is the author of this mod. His site is breakmyzencart.com.

I had a brain cramp. I meant medium to large zooming which of course the configuration supports but its not implemented and breakmyzencart simply states "Note: Zooming in on medium images is not implemented, yet." and for support it suggests posting here anyway.
As it is I think I've managed to make the minor adjustments needed to bmz_image_handler.class.php
and
tpl_modules_main_product_image.php
to implement medium to large zooming

Re: Image Handler 2 Support
Hello,
I've spent a fair bit of time trying to search for this but I can't seem to find a solution. How can I disable the popup window for additional product images?
I'm using Image Handler to display a larger pic when the thumb is hovered, but it seems redundant to also have the image clickable to display the same pic in a traditional popup window.
Thanks!

Re: Image Handler 2 Support
I have a clean install of 1.3.5, and had IH2 working with the default setup. I then installed my own template set, copied the appropriate IH files to my custom template directory, and now IH does not work. I installed the copy of IH2 at the link above, copying the files over those initially installed from Tim's site.
No error messages, and caching is working oK - at least there are files being created.

I get the hotzone, and the admin 'i' images, but the hotzone does not work, nor do watermarks appear. If I swap back to the default template, does not work there either now.

Re: Image Handler 2 Support
Any idea whats causing this sql error
Code:
Warning: Variable passed to each() is not an array or object in /home/cell/public_html/includes/classes/db/mysql/query_factory.php on line 114
Warning: session_start(): Cannot send session cache limiter - headers already sent (output started at /home/cell/public_html/includes/classes/db/mysql/query_factory.php:114) in /home/cell/public_html/includes/functions/sessions.php on line 102

When I install image handler it gives this error and totally messes up the site, when I remove it from the database it works fine again.
Anyone ever had this problem?

Look very closely for white space after the final ?> in those files.
Have you edited them at all? Or, try re-uploading them in a different mode - I've found that filezilla messes up php unless they are uploaded as binary, for example.
But check the whitespace first.

Re: Image Handler 2 Support
well the hover issue is kinda resolved... kinda. the 'hot spot' turned on (childish giggle here) breaks the serious functionality of IH2. disabled hover works. i should've started toying with the admin settings instead of searching through code for a solution.
unfortunately i dont see in the admin settings where i can change the IH medium size. if i include just the original or even a separate resized file for the medium size, the IH medium size is the same as the default size, so hovering has just a lame 1x 'zoom' (a clown might like this joke-zoom but customers may not).
any pointers for a tard on how to get the zoom to go from small>>medium or small>>large?
-
Re: Image Handler 2 Support
So, um, what's this:
Error!
Unable to determine the page link!
Function used:
zen_href_link('', '', 'NONSSL')
I went to the Image Manager screen and tried to add new files for the medium and large sizes. I named them like this:
thumbnail (which I used when I entered the item): kitpreview.jpg
medium: kitpreview_MED.jpg
large: kitpreview_LRG.jpg
Help?
Okay, I went back and did it again, adding the thumbnail this time in IH as well as the other two images. It renamed my thumbnail kitpreview_01.jpg and took the other two. However, now the image that shows on hover is the thumbnail. I guess I'm not understanding exactly how to add these images. I can't simply upload the largest file because the resizing method makes the smaller ones ugly, they are not very clear at all. I need to be able to add all three sizes myself...
-
Re: Image Handler 2 Support
Okay, never mind. I didn't add any images at all when I added the item and then added all three sizes in IM and it worked...but, as soon as I hover over a thumbnail, I get a JavaScript error...what's up with that?
-
Re: Image Handler 2 Support

Re: Image Handler 2 Support
are you running 1.3.5? i had applied those 'patches' to a new 1.3.5 install and it had no effective result. i was also getting js errors, but due to something with the 'hot zone'; disabled 'hot zone' and no js erros.
at http://breakmyzencart.com/ih-doc the bottom example says
"You specified 100×80 for your small images and 150×120 for your medium sized images. "
but the admin panel gives no option for medium size - it only gives you a choice for small image size under configuration>>images. IH2 only gives you the choice to upload a file for medium size, not to actually set the size within the panel.
got any pointers for this?

Revert back to your old file, and then only apply the change to line 124 (not 126 like the author stated). I couldn't remember the exact line numbers which needed to be changed, thanks to g pointing it out to me above.
So it should read:
Code:
if (docheight - event.clientY < zoomimg_h + (2 * padding)){
ycoord += event.clientY - Math.max(0,(0 + zoomimg_h + (5 * padding) + event.clientY - docheight - truebody().scrollTop));
// ycoord += event.clientY - Math.max(0,(0 + zoomimg_h + (5 * padding) + e.pageY - docheight - truebody().scrollTop));
} else {
ycoord += truebody().scrollTop + event.clientY;
}

The hover image that is display when you mouse over the small image derive its size from Admin -> Configuration -> Images - Product Info - Image Width and Image Height
This also controls the medium image size which in essence is the product page image.
You might want to rethink making you product page image 400 x 400. That's a big image for product page. Go easy on your customer load time.

Warning: main(includes/ih_manager.php) [function.main]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/****/public_html/Zencart/****/image_handler.php on line 153
Warning: main(includes/ih_manager.php) [function.main]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/****/public_html/Zencart/****/image_handler.php on line 153
Fatal error: main() [function.require]: Failed opening required 'includes/ih_manager.php' (include_path='.:/usr/lib/php:/usr/local/lib/php') in /home/****/public_html/Zencart/****/image_handler.php on line 153
I had a good rummage about in my admin folder and checked my unzipped files, but sure enough ih_manager.php really does not exist anywhere.
The image_handler.php file specified in the error message reads like this on lines 151 to 153
Quote:
if ($page == 'manager') {
// manager actions are handled in a seperate file
require('includes/ih_manager.php');
I'm presuming this is a bug - or am I doing something silly? Please help...

Thanks for mentioning it, I corrected it pronto on my server. But how the hell was it funcioning without the closing tag ? :shocking:
Btw: Anyone has a fix for the weird IE overlays? I fixed the javascript error, so there is no error message, but some of the overlays show up totally f*cked up in IE. I have a 7*3 matrix of category images on the main page, and the lowest 2 rows are showing the overlays off screen at the top. WTF? The rest are OK.
Except for Opera, where no overlays are shown.... :D

Re: Image Handler 2 Support
Hello,
Sorry about these mulitple post but the IE javascript error is driving me insane! I've also noticed that my hotspot won't turn off for small images even though it's set at '0' in the admin and won't turn on for medium imges with it set at '1'.
I just re-uploaded the files making sure that I didn't miss anything and I've triple cehcked the JS page to ensure I switched the correct line(s).
With the hotspots not working properly, is this an indication something else is broken or misplaced besides the JS?
That being said, everything is fine in Firefox....
Cheers,
Colin

The Javascript fix you mention - what line did you apply it to? There was a typo, its supposed to go on line 124, not line 126

Re: Image Handler 2 Support
Hi Getyourgames,
Thanks for the quick reply. I'm hoping you can help me! I made the edit on line 124 and changed this:
ycoord += event.clientY - Math.max(0,(0 + zoomimg_h + (5 * padding) + e.clientY - docheight - truebody().scrollTop));
to this:
ycoord += event.clientY - Math.max(0,(0 + zoomimg_h + (5 * padding) + e.pageY - docheight - truebody().scrollTop));
Unfortunately, I'm still getting the error :(
Cheers,
Colin

Its not changed..
Code:
ycoord += event.clientY - Math.max(0,(0 + zoomimg_h + (5 * padding) + e.pageY - docheight - truebody().scrollTop));
needs to be
Code:
ycoord += event.clientY - Math.max(0,(0 + zoomimg_h + (5 * padding) + event.clientY - docheight - truebody().scrollTop));
Hope that helps!
Also just letting everyone else know: I just submitted an update to Image Handler to the downloads section that includes these fixes. I take no credit for the fixes themselves, only for applying them :). Hope it gets approved soon.

Re: Image Handler 2 Support
Yesterday I posted a question about watermarks not showing up on small images. Found out that it's essential to have both Small Image Width/Height and all Listing Width/Height under Configuration/Images set to the same dimensions.
Initially settings for Small Image Width/Height were set to 135/90 and the Listing Widths/Heights to 120/80. This way the images in the sideboxes were slightly bigger (more fitting) then the images showing in the Product/All/New/Featured listings.
The listing images were processed by IH (and thus added to the cache) but without the watermark.
Setting dimensions for both Small Image and Listing Images to 120/80 did the trick. All images are showing the watermark now.
Is this (equal dimensions) a requirement when using IH or is there a way around this?
-
Re: Image Handler 2 Support
During testing I tried to empty the cache using the Admin/Tools/Image Handler/Admin/Clear image cache option but that doesn't seem to work. I had to go in the bmz_cache directory and clear all files manually. Permissions are set to 777.
Is this a bug or my own doing?
-
Re: Image Handler 2 Support
Like stevensmedia reported earlier I'm also having issues with the preview.
Seems to me that the code on lines 1012, 1018 and 1024 ( $XXXimage = new ih_image($ihConf['dir']['admin'] . 'images/ih-test.XXX') and the tablecode on lines 1041, 1048 and 1055 (src="<?php echo HTTP_SERVER . DIR_WS_CATALOG . $images['XXXsource']?> within the image_handler.php create a double reference to the root directory of the site.
Tried editing/deleting pieces of code within these lines to dlete one of the references but with no result until now. My limited knowledge of PHP has brought me to a standstill.
Anyone who can help me out here?

Re: Image Handler 2 Support
Anyone know what is causing this error?
Code:
Warning: Variable passed to each() is not an array or object in /home/andi/public_html/includes/classes/db/mysql/query_factory.php on line 114
Warning: session_start(): Cannot send session cache limiter - headers already sent (output started at /home/andi/public_html/includes/classes/db/mysql/query_factory.php:114) in /home/andi/public_html/includes/functions/sessions.php on line 102

Only does in the 1.3.5 upgrade also using the latest version of this mod.

Re: Image Handler 2 Support
this also shows up at the bottom of the page when its installed
Code:
1064 You have an error in your SQL syntax. Check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near 'EXPECTED_PRODUCTS_SORT limit MAX_DISPLAY
in:
[select p.products_id, pd.products_name, products_date_available as date_expected from zen_products p, zen_products_description pd, zen_products_to_categories p2c, zen_categories c where p.products_id = p2c.products_id and p2c.categories_id = c.categories_id and c.parent_id = '69' and p.products_date_available >=20060916 and p.products_id = pd.products_id and p.products_status = 1 and pd.language_id = '1' order by EXPECTED_PRODUCTS_FIELD EXPECTED_PRODUCTS_SORT limit MAX_DISPLAY_UPCOMING_PRODUCTS]
When this mod is uninstalled it acts normal as if it wasnt there.

Re: Image Handler 2 Support
The preview in Image Handler doesn't give the right path.
The previews have the path:
png --> /webshop/webshop/admin/images/ih-test.png
jpg --> /webshop/webshop/admin/images/ih-test.jpg
gif --> /webshop/webshop/admin/images/ih-test.gif
It has to be for example /bmz_cache/3/33f0b2cdfebcc994659514b33f516d25.image.141x80.png
Why?

Re: Image Handler 2 Support
Tried the patches for the previewarea as suggested in t68-couple-hints.html.
Path issues are solved with the patch. Only thing is that both original and product image in PNG format are still missing. The default PNG image is showing fine.
Added the (int)$quality/100 patch to the bmz_image_handler.class.php file (line 646 in ZC1.3.5) in an attempt to correct this.
Emptied cache (manually cause 'Clear image cache' still not working) and tried again. Same result, no original and product image showing for PNG. Cache does hold both images but these are corrupted.
What am I missing?
-
Re: Image Handler 2 Support
Found out what the problem is with the PNG files. Uploaded the patches made to the bmz_image_handler.class.php and image_handler.php files to my liveserver and they work just fine. Figure my testserver has an issue generating the PNG files where it works fine with GIF and JPG.
I'll tackle that later so disregard my previous question. Thanks fricy for pointing me in the right direction.
In the mean time there's still the issue with the 'Clear Image Cache' not working and the need for all Small Image and Listing dimensions to be the same (see my earlier postings).
Any pointers?

Re: Image Handler 2 Support
When I install this mod I get the following errors.
Code:
Warning: Division by zero in /home/cell/public_html/includes/classes/split_page_results.php on line 76
1064 You have an error in your SQL syntax. Check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near 'MAX_DISPLAY_PRODUCTS_LISTING' at line 7

If I remove it from the database the site works normal.
Also get this at the top of the site
Code:
Warning: Variable passed to each() is not an array or object in /home/cell/public_html/includes/classes/db/mysql/query_factory.php on line 114
Warning: session_start(): Cannot send session cache limiter - headers already sent (output started at /home/cell/public_html/includes/classes/db/mysql/query_factory.php:114) in /home/cell/public_html/includes/functions/sessions.php on line 102

I am using the newest vewrsion of this mod and also 1.3.5. I have tried everything to fix it but nothing seems to work.
Any ideas would be really appreciated.
Thanks in advance

I happened to make a record of the changes that I made previously to remove the JavaScript errors in IE and fix the preview image error, so this time around it only took a few minutes.
Once all of the errors are removed, this is actually quite a good contribution. If the author spent more time on his code rather than begging on his own site as well as in the admin area of installed Zen Carts, maybe he would make life a lot easier for the rest of us. Then maybe, just maybe a few more people would actually donate to him.

Re: Image Handler 2 Support
OK, I understand that that's a rant and must be taken with a grain of salt, but in all fairness to Tim, I think he has other things on the go too, like university. I have no idea why he's been so quiet lately, but I have been here long enough to know that when he can, Tim is a very helpful and prolific poster to these forums. You're right that this is a good module. It's the one 3rd-party mod that I find pretty much indispensable.

Does anyone which files were updated in the new 9/16 IH release.
Could someone post a simple list of which files to update - ? I had just installed the 135 from scratch...

Re: Image Handler 2 Support
purple-circle...rant or not, that's a completely unjustified attack on someone who has made massive contributions to ZenCart through his modules. He is not charging for his work, and indeed, his approach is no more begging than is that of the ZC team themselves.
So, while you're demanding this young student spends more time on his free contributions to Zencart rather than his studies, just how much have you donated to him as a thankyou for his work to date?
You are well out of order in your attitude.
And if you've got it fixed, why don't you offer an updated version to the ZenCart team for addition to the downloads site - especially as Tim seems to be otherwise engaged at the moment.
-

Not to ######## in or anything, but the latest version in the downloads a working version, I have it installed on 14 different sites and works fine, even though I mad e a few mistakes and worked them out, but like said above its free, cant expect a paid job and free income.
By the way what exactly is it doing on your site?

'scuseme, pardon...
Is there a mistake in the fact that both the new 135 IH download have a file (includes/modules/additional_images.php) that is lacking a closing tag (?>) at the bottom of the page?

Not to defend Circle's rant, but most people tend to go to the source of mods.
I'd have not thought at all of looking in Zen downloads for a different version of a mod hosted elsewhere.

No mistake - as mentioned in another thread, apparently it's a technique to avoid the "white space" problem sometimes.

Re: Image Handler 2 Support
Is it necessary to use the IH admin area "Scan for old IH 0.x and 1.x original images" - ? A friend has this upgrade situation...
What does it do? There don't appear to be entries in the database realted to it.
It does delete old files in the Original folder and in the process destroy thumbs in the product listing area. This would appear to make it necessary for this person to reload all images to restore the product listing thumbs...bummer.

the revision upload from 9/16 was uploaded by me. all the fixes mentioned in the post regarding line 124 and the two files were applied and uploaded.. i'm not sure if there were any bugs beforehand that were to be addressed. if there were please point them out to me and i will gladly patch it up and resubmit it so people who aren't so php-experienced won't have to deal with it.

If you wish to see it, however what you think might be doing it?

Re: Image Handler 2 Support
Hi, I made a search and didn't find anything about this, so excuse me if I'm repeating.
Using IH with 1.2.6 when a customer uploads an image, shows in the shopping cart that image. I remember you telling me how to do it because you didn't think people were using it a lot.
In 1.3+ we have the option from admin to choose "Show uploaded images in cart", but even I've set this parameter to true, the images won't show (it shows the uploaded image name though). Why?
