I think your making it more complicated then it has to be... All i need to do is make the 3rd level and up not display...
jfreak, Try this....find this section of code in you stylesheet_categories_menu.css:
And change it to this:Code:div#nav-cat ul.level1 li.submenu:hover ul.level2,
div#nav-cat ul.level2 li.submenu:hover ul.level3,
div#nav-cat ul.level3 li.submenu:hover ul.level4,
div#nav-cat ul.level4 li.submenu:hover ul.level5,
div#nav-cat ul.level5 li.submenu:hover ul.level6 {
display:block;
background-color: #228B22;
}
Then everything beyond the 3rd level will be hidden.Code:div#nav-cat ul.level1 li.submenu:hover ul.level2,
div#nav-cat ul.level2 li.submenu:hover ul.level3
{
display:block;
background-color: #228B22;
}
div#nav-cat ul.level3 li.submenu:hover ul.level4,
div#nav-cat ul.level4 li.submenu:hover ul.level5,
div#nav-cat ul.level5 li.submenu:hover ul.level6 {
display:none;
}
And this will hide everything beyond the second level:
Code:div#nav-cat ul.level1 li.submenu:hover ul.level2
{
display:block;
background-color: #228B22;
}
div#nav-cat ul.level2 li.submenu:hover ul.level3,
div#nav-cat ul.level3 li.submenu:hover ul.level4,
div#nav-cat ul.level4 li.submenu:hover ul.level5,
div#nav-cat ul.level5 li.submenu:hover ul.level6 {
display:none;
}
Hope this helps.
Get 'em Fast is kinder than me with these requests.
He's the good cop.
Naaa, I just remember when I only had 3 posts, and how hard it was to figure out just how ANYTHING in the ZC file system worked, looking for an answer in so many different threads thousands of posts, and the hundreds of mods to be added....."Does that do what I want/need? Can I understand this enough to customize it? Can I find people who are willing to help without thinking I'm a total dumb-A. S. S. ?
And I promised that what I learned in this forum, I would share in this forum. So, I NEVER forget my "Days of Learning", which, are still EVERY single day.
This may have been asked but I am very illiterate when it comes to this. I installed the CSS flyout menu myself. (Very proud of myself) and even changed the images.
Now I am stuck. Here are my questions...
1. How do I get the brown border off my categories? It's around each one individually.
2. When I redid the images for each category for this, I made them wider since it's cutting off some of the words but it didn't change it. How can I change the size of the categories both the one that is there initially and the one that pulls out.
3. Where in general do I find where to change font size, color, style of my categories?
4. I don't want specials, new products or all products to be part of the fly out menu. How can I change that?
My site is www.mibelloboutique.com
Okay I think those are all of my questions for now.

This question has already been answered:
http://www.zen-cart.com/forum/showpo...1&postcount=49
look at this and subsequent posts, the solution is posted a few posts down that one.
All the rest are CSS issues, not related to this mod.
You can can post those issues in the CSS forum.
Do yourself a favor and get the free Web Developer toolbar for Firefox, Information --> Display Element Information, will show you exactly what element is causing grief, you then fix it in the stylesheet.
If you still have issues, PM your troubles with a link, one by one, and, when I have time, will answer.
Actually, these questions have already been answered in a p.m., which I forgot to post so others could benefit from it, and was as follows:
Now, as far as anything NOT being relevant.....(CK) . If you didn't know this mod as well as you do, you would think that EVERY DETAIL of this mod was controlled by one of the files that came with it, when of course, some of the actual "controls" are as stated above, and will NOT be over-ridden by this mod.........AND some of the CSS is still controlled from your regular "stylesheet.css" unless commented out......like the font size and color for the heading, among others.Quote:
Sorry for taking so long. Been busy. You might want to check out post #282. You can use that css to start with, as everything is "mapped out".....much easier to follow.
Looks like you solved the border problem?
The links at the bottom of the sidebox is controlled from:
Admin>Layout Settings
- Categories Box - Show Specials Link
- Categories Box - Show Products New Link
- Categories Box - Show Featured Products Link
- Categories Box - Show Products All Link
Hope this helps.
So, with that in mind, let's not be so quick to judge if a question is relevant, or not. O.k.?
And, if someone does post an "irrelevant" question..........Try to act like a proffessional about it, instead of being so damn rude. I mean, if the question makes you irretated......SIMPLY DON'T REPLY!!.......I WILL be around to answer the questions about this mod, sooner or later. If it's urgent, anybody can p.m. me.
NEWS TO ALL
The new CSS Flyout Menu 1.3.8 HAS been submitted, and is awaiting approval from the Dev Team. It contains no images, but does have the new css with "color-mapped" flyouts, along with the new "scroll" feature. Hope everybody enjoys.
(If you can't wait that long, p.m. me, and I'll send it to you).
Enjoy,
Robert
CK. Sorry about being so "blunt", but people are starting to get "afraid" to post a question in this thread. Just asking you to ease up and enjoy life a little. And remember........YOU were once a noob in this forum, also. No hard feelings.....?
I still am a noob in many things.
I offered to answer all the remaining questions via PM in order not to clog this thread.
I have seen threads that go on and on, with same answers to same questions, and they become useless because nobody can find anything in them, so they post the same questions.
I will gladly pass the mantle to you and hope you answer questions in a timely manner.
See........that's what I was afraid of........hard feelings, on your part. I wasn't trying to get hateful, just trying to re-gain a little hope in the eyes of people who do want to post in here, but are afraid to.
And......."PASS"........."PASS"? Pass what? Don't forget to look at post #1 in this thread, again, and let me know what you're gonna "PASS".
Although, I really enjoy working with you (could use you on my team at my site).........I was just saying, "Take a chill pill", and not scare people off.
And, I'm done with that subject, because I truly don't like "airing" differences (that really don't matter in the first place) in public forums. Especially when I'm trying to start a business that deals with this program (Zen-Cart), and this program alone.
Oh,........and it's irrelevant to the thread.
Thanks for your kind offer of using me on your team, but I think I'm going to pass.
Coming from a guy who went AWOL twice and left questions hanging for months, even after stating that he was back and stronger than ever
http://www.zen-cart.com/forum/showpo...3&postcount=17
your rants about my "rudeness" seem somewhat ludicrous.
Good luck with "your" thread.
ck, that's fine. I knew you couldn't have this conversation without getting "peeved".........just not in your nature, lately. What happened to you, anyway, man? You used to be so nice and cheereful, now all anybody sees is just downright rudeness. I'm sorry for your mis-fortune.....whatever it may be, that's made life so "sour" for you. I hope you find what you need to make life happy, again........REAL SOON.
GOOD NEWS ALL!!
The new release of the CSS Flyout Menu is now available for download HERE.
Special thanks to ckosloff for supplying the new csshover.htc & the time he spent answering questions in this thread.
There seems to be no limit for you blathering nonsense.
You know nothing about me and yet you get delusional about some misfortune souring me.
For your information: my "rudeness" is simply the Zen Cart team's policy.
They promote a manual in order not to have the forums flooded with unrelated questions.
If people are too lazy to follow the learning curve: buy the manual, build test sites and try to find answers on their own, the guys who have done that only do them a favor by pointing them to that path.
The forums are a place for guys who have done that and post legitimate questions about mods, not page layout questions.
If you think that everybody who downloads free software, wishes to make a quick buck and floods the forums with basic questions deserves to be helped, go ahead and do it, you are on your own.
If you like to be swamped by crap, I believe you are enjoying that taste lately.
Now quit flooding your own thread with your personal rants and misjudgements.
Cut the crap, stop the BS, shut up.
:no: Mmm-mmm-mmmm. Yep. I'm done. Whew!
Back to business.
You?
Please?
Ok, almost afraid to post this question...
I changed the css and managed to get this look:
www.planetebio.net
Looks and runs fine in FF, however in IE 7 the submenus do not stay ( like the hyperlink hotspot is only on the text and not the whole cell)
Any input would be well apreciated.
I don't see any submenus at all in IE6, just the top-level categories.
Looks great in FF though. The transparent submenus are a nice effect.
Could you post the CSS you're using?
I have not yet put the logic for IE 6, I also tested today in IE 6 (got the same as you). I have not YET asked the author of the css for permission to use....
I want to implement before ...
Google - Any width flyout menu
The origional css works in IE 7 and FF have not yet tested it with IE 6.
Well Finally got the look and feel I was looking for.
Thanks to Get Em Fast for a great job at making the CSS accessible and Stu Nicholls for the look and feel.
Cheers !
I'm having issues with the plugin seeing the css, the menu is generated, but no css?
http://surferweb.com/smorgit/
thanks in advance
im having a similar issue just installed the latest version of this mod but im getting no css.
Tried to view the css in FF but it comes up with nothing. Checked the file and seems to be fine also re upoaded it and still nothing.
Any ideas?
Hi
i am new to css flyout menu.
i have tried to implement on my site http://www.etrade8888.com/.
I have followed the instruction and put each file in associate templates.
But i couldnt success to make category menu layout.
how can i make my category menu layout as css flyout menu.
If the template is active, then it should be read, just like your main stylesheet.
Style will "cascade" to that stylesheet.
There is an entry in the wiki on how stylesheets cascade in zen, or maybe in the tutorials, I don't remember exactly.
Bear in mind that some settings in your main stylesheet will override the menu's stylesheet.
It's against the "cascading" logic, but ZC is not HTML but a PHP app.
Bottom line, if it reads your main CSS, and both are in same directory, it should read your menu stylesheet, otherwise your ZC is corrupt.
Make sure that the template where both are is active, you may have them together in an inactive template.
Be sure everything is in the correct folder.
FIRST, determine which template is currently installed. In the admin section, go to TOOLS > TEMPLATE SELECTION to see, if you're not sure. The default template for my installation was the "Classic" template.
NEXT, check the folder structure for the fly-out menu mod. There are 2 folders in the flyout menu named "YOUR_CUSTOM_TEMPLATE_NAME"; one at "includes\modules\sideboxes", and another at "includes\templates". Using the "classic" template as an example, rename both "YOUR_CUSTOM_TEMPLATE_NAME" folders to "classic".
FINALLY, go to ADMIN > TOOLS > LAYOUT BOXES CONTROLLER. If there are any error messages, click "reset" to clear those up. Then, double check that the sidebox is enabled. In my default setup using the "classic" template example, there's a entry called "sideboxes/classic/categories_css.php". Turn it on if it's off.
Hope that helps.
Get Em Fast
Thanks for all your contributions and help to this thread so far. However ive litterally just scrolled through the whole thread to find that you have not given the full css script that allows images instead of block colours.
I wish to have 3 different images, 1 image with an arrow on to indicate further trees, 1 image that is plain to indicate no further trees and a hover image.
Could you please supply the css to accomodate this. I had a go myself with no luck!
Many thanks!
The CSS for images is a previous version, which is also downloadable from the software add-ons area.
However, you will not get 3 images, just an image flip, which will work fine for your purpose.
I had it before and decided to move to only CSS because of positioning issues (if you change the width of sidebox or column you have to change your images).
It's easy to add images to the new release. In stylesheet_categories_menu.css, find the entry you want to add the image for, such as:
background-color: pink;
And then add an image as a background like this:
background-color: pink;
background-image: url(../myimagefolder/menu_image.jpg);
Check the site in my signature. I added 3 images to the menu that way.
Forgive the late reply:
Yes I realise I must turn off one of the catogories sideboxes, Thanks for the comment.

More than likely, this is a stupid question but, I've been looking over this thread for a couple of hours and I can't find an answer to this question.
I am clearly experiencing some type of javascript error as the css flyout menu mod is printing a bullet list of my categories rather than "flying out". This wouldn't be a big deal if my site didn't have a whopping 244 categories total. (That's including the head categories and the subcategories). I was using the Amazing Discoveries sidebox, which also used javascript, but it was not functioning properly in the latest version of IE 8; which for reasons beyond my understanding is still the most popular browser out there. (I hate Internet Explorer...who's with me?) I'm a newbie...like I said, this is probably a stupid question.
Thanks in advance,
Dale

I am having the same problem with a test site that I am working on in 1.3.8a. My categories sidebox is showing as a bulleted list a lot like a site map.

Any help would be great.
Marc
Thanks but I do have that folder in place. I just deleted it and added a fresh file in case it was corrupt. Any other thoughts?
Marc
I just downloaded a fresh set of files and FTP'd them to the correct folders with the template name changed on the two that needed it.
Still no good. What other files call on these that might be causing the trouble?
Starting to drive me nuts so you can be sure that it is something real simple and I am looking too hard...
Marc
Ok, There is some bold red text in my layout box controller. What does this mean and could that be related to my other problem?
Image attached.
Marc
No, my layout box controller has that too. Your stylesheet_categories_menu.css is still corrupt, though. Maybe your ftp program isn't overwriting the old one.
PM me with your email and I'll send the file.
Hi, i was wondering if some body can help me out.
IAm trying to add a "Terms & Conditions" Link under the Information tab.
I downloaded the "About Us" Mod & renamed it to terms & condition, uploaded the files.
Than in the tpl_drop_menu file i added
<li><a href="<?php echo zen_href_link(FILENAME_TERMS_&_CONDITIONS); ?>"><?php echo HEADER_TITLE_TERMS_&_CONDITIONS; ?></a></li>
It looks ok, but than Information dropdown i get "HAADD@T@ID@" when i click on it i get:
Page Not Found
"Custom 404 Error Page with Site Map Sample Text ...
Put your custom "page not found" message here. You can change this text in the Define Pages Editor located under Tools in the Admin"
But when i add to the tpl_drop_menu file:
<?php } ?>
I get a blank screen, could anybody give me an pointers. Thanks
Hi iam using the CSS Flyout Menu. Do i need to do anything specific to get the link to work with the CSS Flyout Menu?
Thanks
The "Terms & Conditions" page shows in my information side box ok, but in the CSS Flyout Menu, on the "Information drop down" i cant get it to display corretly.
I have entered:
<li><a href="<?php echo zen_href_link(FILENAME_TC); ?>"><?php echo HEADER_TITLE_TC; ?></a></li>
and under the information dropdown on my CSS Flyout Menu, it 'd displaying "HEADER_TITLE_TC" How can i get this to display "Terms & Conditions"?
Thanks
:clap::clap::clap:YAY:clap::clap::clap:
I figured it out, i had to add a line of code in the /includes/languages/english/extra_definitions/your_template/headermenu.php
Displays fine now :clap:
Just curious - how necessary is the csshover.htc file?
With it, it seems that the :hover effect is slowed down by up to 1-2 seconds, but when I remove the reference (from the .css file, that is), things speed up and the :hover effects are instant. I've tested with and without in IE7, FF3, Opera 9, and it seems to be working fine in all 3.
Maybe it's just me having the problem (I'm testing this on a home server).
From what I've read, .htc files are only used by IE browsers, so I assume it is there to help older browsers? But I don't know.
One thing I do know - it would be nice to be rid of the sluggishness.
Okay, I see it's to make things work in IE6...
I'm still concerned about the speed issue. Is there a way to have the browser ignore the file if a user isn't using IE6?
Thanks,
jbhansen
Hi, Having trouble getting this to work, i have copied over the files and changed the folder names to my template iC_Acadame.
Take a look on the site, it displays all of the categories as a tree but no flyout, something simple I'm sure but cant work it out.

The stylesheet_categories_menu.css file on your site is corrupted with extra code. Some other users have had the same issue. The file is most likely getting corrupted by your ftp program when you upload it.
Try uploading stylesheet_categories_menu.css again with your ftp program set to 'binary', instead of 'auto' or 'ascii'.
Great, sorted, thanks for that, just need to play with colours now:smile:
Hi. I've used this before, but I want to make sure that the current version for 1.3.8 will work on a 1.3.7 install.
Thanks!
Hi I'm trying to get this to work but after uploading the files nothing at all happens. What settings do you use in the layout boxes controller section? I've tried each of the settings but none of them work.
Thanks.
This is just a guess without seeing your site, but it sounds like the problem a lot of us have had. As mentioned previously in the thread, there's a problem uploading one particular file. The file named stylesheet_categories_menu.css that's contained in the current release was accidentally saved as a Unicode file. You need to either a) open the file in Notepad and re-save it as an ANSI file and upload it again, or b) upload it again with your FTP program set to "binary".
I was curious if anyone had tried to make this mod work with images rather than just the colors. And, if so, how to make that happen.
Dale
Thanks, as always, in advance.
:smile:
Excellent...thanks a lot.

Hi all,
I just installed CSS Flyout Menu and it does not appear to be working! I installed the the 4 files in their respective folders along with csshover.htc in includes.
Did I do anything wrong, please advise. Thanks
Zen Cart -Version 1.3.8
css_flyout_menu_1-3-8
It is not working for me. I have FTP stylesheet_categories_menu.css as binary as well changed the file to ANSI but no luck!
I changed the CSS file URL as well but no luck-
body {
behavior: url(http://www.myexclusiveshop.com/baby/...csshover.htc);
} /* WinIE behavior call*/
My install URL is - http://www.myexclusiveshop.com/baby/
Neeeeeeeeeeeeeeeed help :(
body {
behavior: url(includes/csshover.htc);
} /* WinIE behavior call */
that is the only correct syntax, assuming that csshover.htc is in folder includes.
That is not the URL of your stylesheet, do not modify, it is just the way the stylesheet finds that file.
In your download, open the stylesheet in Notepad (or any other text editor) and save as text, encoding ANSI.
Then reupload everything in exact location, in Tools -> Layout Boxes Controller, disable sideboxes/categories.php
Buy the manual and build a test site or two, that will answer most of your questions.
Hi all,
I looked at post 361 and did re-save my file to ANSI and re-uploaded to the right directory - and it still does not work:(!
I have ZC 1.3.8
Any other ideas?
I assuming that it just works automatically, once the files are uploaded. No configurations to set up, right?
I think the file in the latest download is currupted.
When I open it there is no coding.
I tried the next earlier version but that did not work.
Is there a way to get the correct stylesheet_categories_menu.css file?
Also some of what you guys are saying doesnt sound right. As an ansi file? whats that? Or just save as stylesheet_categories_menu.css.txt? or just open in a word file and just resave stylesheet_categories_menu.css
:frusty:
I got the mod to work using the earlier versions CSS file.
Okay, So I have a question.
My Flyouts are not working past the length of the Sidebox.
http://www.nothingbutcostumes.com/te...ain_page=index
How do I fix that?
And OH Boy do I have to fix the colors.. Wow!
That fix for the stylesheet was posted several times.
I agree that a corrected version should be posted, I am working on one with many improvements and better documentation.
Do you have a style editor?
There are many free ones out there, it shouldn't be that difficult to get them to your liking, nobody can produce a template stylesheet to suit the needs of all users.
Regarding the flyout categories: it's just a question of setting the margin-left to 5px or so, but, beware, it will break IE6.
Just looked at the website you posted, it is just a test site and the installation directory was not even deleted, permissions not set correctly on configure.php.
Better start there.
I use the instruction you provide, but still no success, could you check my website: www.cnemay.com ,and tell me why ? thanks
Good afternoon,
I installed a file that was available in that forum is: css-flyout-categories-v1.3.0.zip and was installed wrong. In other words, the categories do not appear above, appears only new products, special offers, all products.
Seller: http://www.eroscandy.com/
Someone help me?
google translator, my English is not good
Cumps,
help me please!
It is not clear to me what you downloaded and installed.
If it is v. 1.3.8 (last one in download area), there is a flaw in the css.
This is a recurrent issue in this thread.
Save the file as text, encoding ANSI.
Load all files in correct location, enable sidebox in Admin -> Tools -> Layout Boxes Controller.
Disable stock Zen Cart menu.
Hello, If I install version 1.3.8 which is available on the site looks like this: http://www.eroscandy.com/
I think there's anything wrong in this module.
I am sorry I did not realize that part. Is already working.
Thank
Hi there,
I just installed the flyout menu, which is awesome. I really want to keep things simple... no color changes in the hover background colors. But I would like to add a bold text hover effect to the menu when the category's submenu is open.
Is this possible from the flyout css, or do I work that out in the template stylesheet?
And, if possible, can anyone tell me where, and what to add to the css?
very best to all,
ilsita
It is better to make all changes in the menu's stylesheet.
Please get a free text editor, since there are many ways to render bold text, some are static and some dynamic.
Do a search on .em, this is a dynamic thing relative to your base font.
If you just want a small increase you should use something like font-size: 1.1em; on div#nav-cat li:hover
This is relative to the font-size in div#nav-cat, if it is set to 1.3, you should NOT set your hover to 1.4, just set it to 1.1.
Entendiste?
1.1 is just an example, you can use 1.05, etc.
Thanks, ckosloff.
I think all the emphatic messages in the flyout menu css are freaking me out a little. Do I touch or not? Multimple exclamation points make me nervous :blink:
I see that some elements must be edited in the template, and some in the flyout, but I am at a loss as to what to edit where. Is there some rule of thumb about this?
What I want, specifically, is to make my flyout menu subtle, clear, functional and pretty. So, I want light shades, bold text hover effects (rather than bright background color changes). I'd like to be able to include a small arrow or gif to indicate that a subcategory has a submenu.
So, I want to be able to use hex colors, and image files, etc. Can all this be accomplished in the flyout file? Supposed I wanted to change the solid border to a tiny dotted gif?
Very best,
ilsita
This is of course possible with css, but, like I said, get a style editor, that will give you all the options.
Regarding emphatic messages, I don't know what you are talking 'bout, cause I never read the last incarnation of this menu.
Regarding the small arrow, transparent .png, etc. I am working on a new version of this menu, which will have two modes: with images (transparent .png, etc.), and pure css.
Either you wait for it, or you get a style editor and dive right into it.
If you want a preview of what I am working on:
http://www.cssplay.co.uk/menus/anywidth-flyout.html
That site is awesome.
Goodmorning ckosloff,
Oh, awesome, thanks for that link. That's exactly the kind of thing I have in mind. Very nice. I will both wait and dive in with a style editor.
I have just installed 1.3.8 zen cart and I am trying to install the drop down menu CSS Flyout Header 1.5. I have installed all the files in the correct directories in my over ride, double checked them all.
Do note I am creating this site on a dedicated IP address because the domain is live on another server.
I commented out the .htaccess file where it point to the different formats of domain addresses. Not sure if that is the issue. Did add the last line to the .htaccess file
I do not see the ezpages_drop_menu.php in my Layout Boxes controller... :no:
any ideas to what this problem could be? All help is appreciated.
http://64.202.170.199/ is the url.
Thank you for any help.
Need to get this up ASAP!
Just to be a little more specific, this is the type of emphatic message I was talking about (and have a question about):
Now, when I look at the flyout menu, as it appears on my website, unedited, the text is indeed white. Whatever colors I had sepcified in my template stylesheet seem to have been overridden, despite what it says here.Quote:
div#nav-cat li a {background-color: transparent; /*<---This will set the background color of the WHOLE MENU, EVERY LEVEL, SYSTEM WIDE!!! If you want different colors, DON'T CHANGE THIS!!! */
display: block;
padding: 0.25em 0 0.3em 0em;
text-decoration: none;
width: 100%;
color: white; /* sets the font color of the menu, SYSTEM WIDE!! In order to over-ride the font colors for the menu, and have different
colors for each level, such as font color changing when you hover, you need to remove any MENU colors referred to in your
stylesheet.css, as they over-ride this stylesheet! (includes/templates/YOUR_TEMPLATE/css/stylesheet.css) */
When I look in my template css, I know where to find the column text color, but I'm wondering if this is different from "menu colors." The template I'm using doesn't seem to have any "menu" item color options. I don't want to de-activate the wrong thing.
Also, I'm not sure how to "remove any MENU colors." Do I simply delete the line altogether? Just the color line, or also the text-decoration and size lines? I mean, everything to do with the text?
Thanks for any insight into this.
Also, ckosoff, I got a css editor (I had no idea! holy cow...). Very good suggestion. Thanks.
ilsita
thanks I fixed it!
I think the author picked very bold and clashing colors so it'd be easier to track them down in the stylesheet. It's a matter of experimenting.
I wouldn't delete any menu colors, just change them to be the same color once you've decided on the colors you want.
You asked about making text bold. You'd add:
font-weight: bold;
under the particular menu level you want bold text for. Try putting it in different places to figure out the right spot.
I think you also asked about adding images. Yes, you can add images or even use images for the entire menu. I recently added little arrows to each category on my menu; you can see it in my signature. I'd leave the images for last, though, after you get everything else worked out. However, I don't think you can add images to the border itself.
Yeah, I figured that... I've been able to figure that stuff out, but haven't changed anything, really. Actually, I did change to a background image, but found that I couldn't edit anything after that, so I went back to the default.
That makes sense. I'm still not sure which file, exactly. Are the menu items the same as the sidebox or column box? I'm a little stymied on this...Quote:

Where would I put that if I wanted to make the hover-in-the-event-of-submenu?Quote:

I just checked out your flyout menu, and it looks beautiful. That is the sort of thing I'm going for.Quote:
I think you also asked about adding images. Yes, you can add images or even use images for the entire menu. I recently added little arrows to each category on my menu; you can see it in my signature. I'd leave the images for last, though, after you get everything else worked out. However, I don't think you can add images to the border itself.
Thank you so much!

All the changes should be done in the stylesheet_categories_menu.css file. You shouldn't have to mess with the template for anything.
I was fooling around with the bold type. You can add
font-weight: bold;
to the div#nav-cat li:hover statement. Unfortunately, it will make all the submenus bold too.
You should try Firefox and install the Web Developer addon. Among many other useful things, it will allow you see all the css files for any site.
I just wanted to add that it works just fine if, instead of "bold" I use "text-decoration: underline"
Underline works, bold doesn't.
Hm.
People searching through this forum wondering why this mod its not working; stylesheet_categories_menu.css code gets messed up when you upload it; open this file on your server and you will see
/includes/templates/classic/css/stylesheet_categories_menu.css
or
/includes/templates/YOUR_CUSTOM_TEMPLATE_NAME/css/stylesheet_categories_menu.css
you need to open stylesheet_categories_menu.css on your computer copy the CSS it and go your to FTP or filemanager and edit the file on your server and past it into the file, deleting the scrambled code in it.
Or recreate the file from scratch by copying the CSS in to notepad or something and saving the note pad file as stylesheet_categories_menu.css and upload it again.
Someone could add an update with the correct coding for stylesheet_categories_menu.css
Hello,
I have a internet explorer bug; on some pages the menu disappears when hovering over the sub links
If you go to http://www.bubs2grubsknitting.com.au...cPath=35_37_38
and hover over the Categories > Sirdar Baby Wool > 2 Ply (in the white area next to the word "2 Ply")
I have seen this before and it had something to do with removing the main background colour; in this case I kind of needed to.
I am a bit new to CSS Flyout Menus so I posted here in case anyone knows what the problem is.
Note that this problem does not happen on the homepage; dont know why
