Better Together Contribution Support Thread

hmmm...i am confused now.
i am here: /public_html/includes/templates/GinghamBlue/templates
and inside that folder are these:
tpl_better_together_marketing.php
tpl_better_together_marketing_images.php
tpl_better_together_xsells.php
tpl_bettertogether_promo_default.php
tpl_product_info_display.php

i have already done the marketing customization to this file:
tpl_product_info_display.php
with this code:

am i not supposed to add my cross sell coding to the same file (as my other better together discounts): ot_better_together.php

*note, my better together discounts ARE showing up on each associated product page. but i am stumped as to how to get my cross sells to show up on those specified pages.

did that make sense?
this should be my last hurdle for this mod (i hope), so hopefully i won't need to keep bugging you!

Please read the instructions on installing the marketing text. All the way through. This tells you how to advertise your cross sells.

ok...i got it now. i was misunderstanding how the cross-selling worked. i thought it was if you looked at ONE item, it would recommend ONE other item! obviously not the case! WHEW!

but my box looks like the screen shot...the linked items aren't side by side like in your example?

This tells me you didn't use my CSS. You need to use ./includes/templates/custom/css/stylesheet_bettertogether_product.css (particularly the .centerBoxContentsBTXSell markup) if you want it to look like mine. (And maybe more adjustment, depending on what you've done.)

swguy, first off, thanks for your contributions, love them, appreciate the time you put in.

I tried searching for this, but not sure how to word it, and can't find the answer.

Is there a way to do "buy X# of X product, get Y free?" For example, I sell ice cream pints, and want to do "buy 3 pints, get 1 whipped cream free!"

You can't do this with Better Together.

I have installed the mod and updated the tpl product info display. But all i get is the words BB beneath the product description nstead of the promotion text.
The side box works fine
I am using 1.3.9.

Yesterday I bought the product Better Togrther Admin... I installed step by step following the instructions. I'm using Zencart 1.3.8a . The result is ... Better Together Admin works fine in the admin... but in the store nothing happen.
If you add to cart the product in the place where is supossed to see the promotion deal it says:

You may want to add some instructions for using the shopping cart here. (defined in includes/languages/english/shopping_cart.php)


That is a text that never was showed before. I wrote to the author but he offer me a support for an extra payment of u$60. So in my opinion, I think that the product should be $120 instead $60. LOL

I tested the product in another domain with Zen Cart 1.3.9, using a different template and the result is the same.
