FEC and ESL share the same configuration menu.
whereabouts is the sonfiguratin menu? i checked admin-configuration and I couldn't find ESL
I have FEC and COWOA installed and running ZC 1.3.8, it seems to be working fine except for the fact that now I can not disable the FEC. I'm trying to turn it off for testing purposes. I set the value to false on Admin>Configuration>Fast and Easy Checkout Configuration but I still keep getting the one page checkout. What could I be doing wrong?
Any ideas will be helpful.
Thanks

Anybody have a suggestion ?
Thanks,Jim
bigjoed,
has the cowoa mod helped with cart conversion? nice looking site by the way! how did you do that flare/shadow effect for your center column boxes?
Hi Jim,
It looks like you have a different mod installed, not just COWOA, but perhaps that Fast & Easy Checkout or whatever its called.... anyway, you need to go to the board for that mod. I believe one of those mods includes COWOA with it.
I noticed when you click on "checkout" on your site, you are never even asked for your name, address, etc. You are automatically taken to the shipping options. Of course you will receive an error as far as shipping charges are concerned because you don't even have my address. How can you ask USPS to calculate the shipping when you don't have my info????
The COWOA mod by itself does nothing to the regular pages of checkout. The shipping page (with USPS, UPS, etc.) is no different than the one that originally comes with Zen Cart, as well as the rest of the checkout pages. If you are uploading the COWOA mod by itself, you will see that there are no overrides for those checkout pages (unless you install the order steps add-on, which doesn't really do anything but add titles and headers, etc). The only difference between COWOA and the regular Zen checkout is basically one page.... main_page=no_account (aka tpl_no_account_default.php & tpl_modules_no_account.php), which is the same thing as the regular "create an account" page minus the password fields.
So, in conclusion (i talk too much!), you have another mod, not COWOA alone, which is causing your problem. COWOA does not skip asking the customer for their address, etc. but your site seems to do so.
I should mention that, in my last post, I am only speculating about Jim having FEC or ESL installed and in no way did I mean to imply that either mod causes problems. I've seen those mods work wonderfully for people and they are great. The only reason I haven't tried them myself is simply because I finally have my cart running the way I want it to and I don't want to screw it all up by adding even more mods that I'm sure my cart is sick of. Perhaps in the future I might add them, but I am enjoying the peace and quiet over in my Zen Cart Land lately!!! So anyway, FEC, ESL, COWOA, whatever floats your boat. They are all great!
The error of skipping the login page is not something to do with FEC. You must still be logged in to checkout. COWOA is integrated in the Easy Sign-Up and Login and includes upgrades such as shipping and billing address not being the same.
I have not uploaded this contribution to my website yet, I'll let you know about cart conversion when I have something. The flare shadow is done with tables. I have three colums with five rows. The first two rows are around the breadcrumbs, the rest is on all the template files...
Hi craftzombie,
Thanks for your quick response, you might be right about another mod.
The problem you had is what I am tying to fix.I agree that the shipping error will probably correct itself if I can get it to send me to the shipping info page.
The only other mod I tryed to install was " Disable Registration Form" by IVUM.
This where I learned the difference between a Database Backup and a File Backup. When I could not get COWOA to work I reinstalled my database backup and continued to install DRF,when I could not get that to work I attempted an uninstall and learned I was doing an incorrect backup, Oh well,, Live and learn right. So I had my hosting co. restore my site from a backup of a date prior to installing either mod. and started from scratch with COWOA.
I have compared the file ver. and author of the files listed with the DRF mod. and they match the files on my site. I believe the creator of the DRF mod has changed the files and decided not to list him/herself as the author.I am going to have to go through each file line by line and compare to determine witch file I have installed on my site.Fortunately they did list the changes to the files for a manual install so maybe it won't be so bad.
Thanks to all, Jim
