Simple SEO URL Broken on PHP 5.3
FYI -
I'm using SSU 3.8.4 as downloaded from EasyCommerce. I get the following error when running on a PHP 5.3.4 server:
Code:
PHP Fatal error: Multiple access type modifiers are not allowed in includes/classes/ssu/cores/parser.php on line 17
A Google search turned up this page:
http://www.devshed.com/c/a/PHP/Using...s-in-PHP-53/3/
which suggests that "self::" now needs to be "static::" for getClass().
I have been unable to test as my ISP has rolled back to PHP 5.2.4.
Goes to google.com when I log in
Installed Module Manager and Simple SEO URL closely following the instructions. Seems to be working very well EXCEPT when I click on "Log in" I am taken directly to http://www.google.com/ig?hl=en. An running under PHP 5.2.13 on Zen 1.3.9e. I don't have a certificate yet, so my configure.php is using the server certificate ... looks something like the following:
define('HTTPS_SERVER', 'https://server.abcabcabc-hosting.com');
define('DIR_WS_HTTPS_CATALOG', '/~mydomain/');
Before I installed SSU, it looked like this:
define('HTTPS_SERVER', 'https://server.abcabcabc-hosting.com/~mydomain');
define('DIR_WS_HTTPS_CATALOG', '/');
Any thoughts?
Thanks ... Bowen

I've also had a perpetual problem of SSU not obeying what I set the category separator as. It's currently using '-' although I have it set to use '/'
Re: Simple SEO URL [support thread]
Hi,
I have SSU installed as well. However, it keeps giving 301 error in get_headers() because SSU is trying to write urls with zenid but rewrite rule keeps reloading with zenid removed. Is there anyway around this loop?

Re: Simple SEO URL [support thread]
Hope this helps someone.
When installing SSU with Zen Cart 1.3.9 e (echo), note that the file supplied with the SSU (Beta 3.8.4) /includes/functions/html_output.php differs from the file used and supplied with Zen Cart.
The affected lines are 375 & 454
zen_sanitize_string has been added to the new html_output.php in Zen Cart 1.3.9e but does not appear in the file provided with SSU.
To Fix use winmerge or similar and copy the SSU code to the working html_output.php.
Re: Simple SEO URL [support thread]
This is my first attempt with Zen Cart, and I know nothing of programming. But, I do know how to follow directions.
I got the module Simple SEO installed and working on my site. It's the first thing I did. However, I get no file extensions on my pages. Anyone know why? My links look really good. I do have alias to true and have SEO'd links like mysite.com/contact-us and mysite.com/new-category/main-keyword
For instance mysite.com/reviews and the link doesnt work. Or I created some new products and categories and the link looks like mysite.com/new-catergory/new-product but the link doesnt work.
Anyone know how to fix this?
Thanks
Re: Simple SEO URL [support thread]
I just dont get it! My SSU is working GREAT. I have auto aliases on. I go t omanage them, and I can see where they are working, however, not one page, ctegory or product page works. Only the index works, I get a 500 error on all other links in the site
Sucks, cause my links are perfect looking ex. mysite.com/category/product
Any reason why everything works, but the links?
Re: Simple SEO URL [support thread]
Have you tried ftping to cache and reading the myDEBUG ......log report?
Might give you a good starting point.
I also remember resetting all the caches after my 'practising' helped ;)
I've found a similar problem when clicking from a manufacturers side box if that manufacturer only has one product, depending on your main settings, in particular what you set to display a manufacturer must have at least two products or ssu falls over.
If I had a query it would be why am I still seeing for example url.com/category-name.C.2-4 in my site links when I surf but using url.com/category-name as a clickable link works and takes the visitor to url.com/category-name.C.2-4
I can see benefit to do it this way but ... is that how SSU works?
Some clearer documentation would really help but so far ... it looks like it's working.

I am having trouble on the permissions on the cache. I changed them to 777, but it still says the file is unreadable.
I checked my debug files, there are no records as to the links, only past ones where I didnt have the module installed.
It isnt just my category and product pages. It is also my contact, faq, and other single pages. No links on my site work. I have been working on this for 11 hours straight now.
Re: Simple SEO URL [support thread]
Wait, you know what. I just turned SSU off and reverted to the normal links, but get this. Not even the regular nonSSU links work. So, no links work on my site.
Does that make sense?
