Multisite Module & Magic SEO URL
My primary site www.liberty-flag.com is running Magic SEO URL and has quite a hefty .htaccess to redirect to the categories and items.
Is this going the mess up trying to use the Multi Site Module? Or will the resulting additional domains make use of the SEO mod too?
I've been playing with a test installation at http://www.liberty-flag.com/AMERICASFLAG/ and it doesn't seem to be affected, but it's a sub directory, not a domain masquerading in the root folder.
http://www.americasflag.com/ is a domain masquerading in the root folder and it doesn't seem to be affected.
http://www.americasflag.com/index.ph...=index&cPath=2 seems to work too.
Maybe I am talking to myself, but your input will certainly be appreciated.

What about Google Sitemaps, Google Analytics, Google/Froogle Feeder will these work for each individual domain?

Re: MultiSite Module Support Thread
Can you tell that I am getting ready to embark on a new adventure in Zen Carting?
What about customized eMail letters, order confirmations and such. How are they handled. Are there separate template files for each domains eMail handling?
If this works, I have literally 30 domains waiting for this.

Re: MultiSite Module Support Thread
One more question and I'm done for a while.
I have COWOA installed on the primary domain, I would like to try a variety of Checkouts. Can I set up a different checkout process for each template/domain?

Re: MultiSite Module Support Thread
Long enough?
So I currently have ??25 domains pointing at this document root. Each one currently resolves and will load the index.php, just all of the menu links point at the primary domain. Try it - www.americasflag.com
What will happen the moment I install this mod and start modifying files, if I don't have templates set up already for each domain?
Will they default to the primary domain until there is a template and configure file for them?

Re: MultiSite Module Support Thread
I found another question:
PHP 4 or 5?
Re: MultiSite Module Support Thread
New Day, More Questions and YES I did read the last 20 pages of this support thread.
Is there a FAQ for this mod somewhere?
What about banner ads, does each template have to have identical banner regions? Like, I am using the Zen template for my primary site, but the academe template from ichoze uses a full width banner. I would also like to use simple zen and cherry zen on some sites.
Are there individual site setups in the configuration menu?
Does each site have to have exactly the same mods installed?
Am I over thinking this?

Re: MultiSite Module Support Thread
Hey John,
Yes you are over thinking this. :-)
1.) I have never used Magic SEO before but I imagine it will work fine except for the .htaccess file. You will probably need to duplicate everything for each domain/ subdomain.
2.)Google and such WILL work no doubt.
3.) IT can handle emailing and all that good stuff separately as well.
There is a file called www.yourdomain.com_config.php for each domain you use and within it you can define just about every server configuration available on Zen Cart Multisite comes with a tool to help you with this.
This should answer about 99% of your questions.
4.)If you install it now with out proper configuration each of your pointed domains will say "(your domain ) does not exist" in plain text.
5.)I dont know what php version it uses I think 4 but it works with 5
6.) Same as 3
Re: MultiSite Module Support Thread
So Ken ( or anyone who can help), In your opinion what is the best way to handle the SSLs. I really dont want to have an SSL for each site as we will have about 50 sites. Should I consider domains like
site1.domainName.com, site2.domainName.com or is there a way to deal with completely different domains and still keep SSLs down to a minimum?
I have not dived into this yet because I am still uncertain which way to go with the domain names considering the SSL situation.
I am on a VPS with Cpanel and WHM PHP5
Thanks for your advice.

Did you ever get an answer on this?
