Re: Image Handler 2 Support
Tim forgive me for jumping onto this tread but I am a brand new Zenner and dont seem to be able to start off this subject on the forum
Its a simple question - I need the ability on my site for clients to upload an image with their order (Its a printing site)
Is this possible and do you know of a template that handles this
Would appreciate an email if you have time

Re: Image Handler 2 Support
This is built into ZC, i played with it for a while as I print logos on workwear but decided to scrap the option on the website because i felt it possed a security risk far too great.

Re: Image Handler 2 Support
This thread is almost 4 years old, and Tim Kroeger hasn't been active on it in a while.. What you are asking for is, as mcshane78 has pointed out, a default Zen Cart function, and if you require more details you will need to check out the link he posted and/or start a new thread.. Any further discussion of that topic is off topic for this particular support thread..

Re: Image Handler 2 Support
Hi guys.. I am having trouble findingout why the links to my images are not showing from my bmz_cache folder.
Link looks like this : ../shop/images/sub/pic.jpg
when I think it should be : ../shop/bmz_cache/2/262y2te5er5 etc.
I have looked thru the forum for hours and can't see an answer. I have another vanilla site that it works well with.
Both are 1.3.8a and have IH2 and zen lightbox working well together....
Have tried clearing the cache after removing the images then re-uploading the images again.... I'm lost.
Does anyone know where I should look please.
Thanks for any help.
Re: Image Handler 2 Support
bootyrat,
does IH2 work in every other way?
have you checked your settings to see if there is anything to set, that might have been missed.
is everyting loaded to the right place in the server?
a link would be good
Re: Image Handler 2 Support
Thanks for your reply DarkAngel
There is a problem with getting the watermark on large images as well.
Think I'm gonna go to a backup and re-install both IH2 and zen lightbox as the first install on my testcart was perfect.. every detail great, just as many mods..
Let you know what I find.
Re: Image Handler 2 Support
OK... fixed it.
I completely removed and un-installed both IH2 and zen lightbox1.5 ... did not make a difference.
I then cleared the bmz_cache of all the subfolders...1, 2, 3, a, b, deleted the lot, folders and all for a complete rebuild.
I then noticed there was a small file missing in the bmz_cache folder called .keep so I uploaded to the server.
That fixed it ! YOU BEAUTY - Also got the watermarks back.. go figure.
No idea how that was missing...must have just missed it..... learnin all the time.
Hope this helps someone.
Re: Image Handler 2 Support
I have a small problem with my host as it seems that they have a max number of files that can be stored there. (They allow 120gb storage and plenty of bandwidth, but only permit 262144 files for that space).
What I need to do is to prevent the bmz_cache from retaining the images, so that they are created from scratch each time they are needed.
I know this will decrease the performance, as both time and processor load will increase, but I really have no other choice.
Over 60% of my file usage is taken up by bmz_cache, and I cannot add any more images to my site.
I really need to keep IH2 working and the only way I can think to do so is to set up a cron job that deletes the contents of all 16 folders on a regular basis (ie. every 15 minutes or so).
If anyone has any other ideas, I would love to hear all about them!
Re: Image Handler 2 Support
At the risk of stating the obvious.. I think the BEST solution is to find a more suitable webhost..

That would work if it wasn't a non-profit site. I cannot justify the expenditure for a dedicated server for something that is not bringing in any funds. Aside from the fact that the sales rep was either misinformed or just flat out lied to me, it has been fairly reliable. Seems she didn't either know that it wouldn't fly, or it didn't sink in, or she just needed a sale. When I told her the finished site would have over 700,000 fairly small image files, she said that was not a problem. Yeah, right, not for her anyway!
