I have already copy and pasted the install.sql contents into the admin/tools/install_sql_patches section which then went ahead and created a menu entry under configuration/sitemap xml which lets me change the various settings.

What I don't have is any new menu items under the Tools menu to allow me to create sitemaps. I've taken a look through the sql statements in the install.sql file, and all that seems to do is create the menu entry under configuration/sitemap xml.

I'm not getting any errors when generating a sitemap as I don't have an option anywhere to generate one.

I've just read this thread. As per standard security precautions I have of course renamed my own admin folder, and some of the sitemap files got dumped into the 'admin' folder not my renamed one.

Yes that happens sometime. Always a good idea to rename your admin folder for security reason, but never forget when adding on any add on change it to whatever your custom folder name is. Glade you got it worked out.

I hope this isn't a stupid question but for some reason sitemapxml used "&" instead of "&amp" on some of the links in my ezpages sitemap and google doesn't like it. All other sitemaps are working fine.

Using latest version of sitemap (just installed it a few days ago) and have Zen-Cart 1.3.9d

Any help you can offer on why it is doing this would be appreciated.

[edit] posting the contents of the sitemap below. It seems it is also leaving out a ";" which may actually be the larger issue.

Never mind after some research seems this is just a bit of bad php code.

Well, I am still hoping someone knows how to fix this because for everyone using 1.3.9 this is a real issue.

With Zen Cart 1.3.9, it now generates a canonical url (which includes the cPath for all product). However the url that is generated by the sitemap does not include the cPath for the product url.

It will be nice to have a sitemap that is generating a consistent url to the one that we are passing to the search engines as the canonical url.

Actually, on a second thought, I think the way this model is generating product url is the right way to go. Since a product can belong to multiple categories and can be moved from category to category it will make sense that the authoritative url is the format used by this mod not one that includes cPath.

I think the new canonical url support in Zen Cart 1.3.9 is really where the change needs to happen to generate canonical url for products that doesn't include cPath.

its interesting issue

i found that in admin/configuration/SEO URLs there is :

Add cPath to product URLs?

i got it on false, and urls looks like :

http://www.vodeoo.com/sitemapproducts.xml

if i change seo to true it will add :

"This setting will append the cPath to the end of product URLs (i.e. - some-product-p-1.html?cPath=xx)."

is it any better for search engines, and for SEO in general?
