Re: Abbington Mega Template Support Thread
Probably an SSL issue, and yours is set up very different from ours so I have no idea on that.
Speaking of SSL, here is a recent thread on that (note RodG's theory):
http://www.zen-cart.com/showthread.p...L-for-the-Site
SSL has always been one of our main causes of issues, usually dealing with red x's and the IE9 security pop-up. I think RodG noted that SSL can cause more problems than SSL is worth. I personally use PayPal Express on my main site below, so have never had to deal directly with SSL other than on my sister's sites.
I doubt that installing a trouble-shooting template will solve the problem (although you might try.) And if you are certain that the Classic template still works with this strange-to-me SSL login, then you may be correct and might contact your host on the template/SSL issue.

The problem is the shared SSL. Setting it up again will not make the issue go away. If you were using a dedicated SSL on the other hand, then this issue goes away. I believe that in general the knowledgeable Zen Cart gurus do NOT recommend using a shared SSL certificate.
One last thing on the shared SSL certificate tip, if you have ANY plans to use any kind of friendly URL add-on (Ceon URI for example) you will NOT be able to use a shared SSL certificate.

I am having a hard time with this. It worked previously. A template change shouldn't keep me from being able to use a shared SSL. I have my site host looking into it.

Otherwise I love this template !!
This is not a template issue. I would recommend doing a forum search to find the cause and remedy for this problem.
Thanks,

Followup: I actually have (had) 2 issues.
The images not loading on the secure pages issue was a Hotlink Protection issue. Right after changing templates and tweaking, I turned on Hotlink Protection. I just turned it off, and the images display properly on the secure pages again.
The other issue (which I wasn't paying attention to because the picture issue was distracting) is that my secure pages aren't secure. I get the slash through the https. Do I need to adjust settings after a template change regarding the shared SSL ?
For the record, I think Anne's templates AND tutorials are fantastic.
...Just a rookie learning on the fly.
Re: Abbington Mega Template Support Thread
Well, your images are fixed on your secure login page in my Firefox browser. But in Chrome and IE9 (my main browser), although the top images show, both browsers give the "secure-show all content warning" and block your bottom left banner photo. That has been our main issue with SSL, getting images properly set so that they do not generate the dreaded warning on secure pages. As I recall, when using banner photos or sometimes even our own hand-made links on SSL pages, we had to either try "relative links" or put an "s" in the http like https for the image source or links.
It's ironic that one uses SSL to give customers a sense of security, but that same SSL can generate pop-up warnings that may scare customers off.
As for your second issue, your login page shows https, so I'd think it secure. But guess I don't really know about that.
Definitely a SSL issue and the way you have to ensure that anything you do does not generate the security pop-up warning. Not a template issue.

I still get https:// with the slash through it in Chrome, but not IE or Firefox. I'll keep tinkering with it. I see paying for a dedicated SSL in my future, though.
Thank you for helping me troubleshoot this.

The template already uses all relative path names for images and urls. Have you added any images or urls that are using absolute path names?
Thanks,
Anne
Re: Abbington Mega Template Support Thread
Hi Anne is there a way to have my categories instead of new products and for them to be the default listing when customers visit as my products don't change often so the new products aren't needed.
Cheers

I fixed it ! :) It was the banner ad. I wasn't telling it to "not show" on SSL pages. I turned it off on secure pages, and now they are displaying properly.
