Any ideas as to how I could go around doing this...?
Without rewriting the code for this ... i really cannot say as you have to gather all of the information then display all of the information ...
Can anybody help with fixing a calculation errors when using a category discount?
Here's the problem:
I have a 10% discount for category A. The discount is applied correctly to an item from category A when placed in the shopping cart.
Example
$100 subtotal
- $10 category A discount
=====
$90 total
Zen Cart also correctly does not apply the 10% discount if an item from category B is placed in the shopping cart. Ex. Subtotal $200 = total $200
However, if an item from category A and B are in the shopping cart here's how it calculates:
$300 subtotal ($100 category A + $200 category B)
- $10 category A discount
=====
$90 total
The $200 for an item from category B is not included in the final price. I'll quickly go out of business using this math.:dontgetit
Set your restrictions up as:
Top DENY
Category A ALLOW
see if that works better for you ...
Thanks Ajeh for the response.
I modified the restrictions per your recommendation and have the same results. I also tried only setting restrictions to:
Category A ALLOW
Same thing.
Could it be in the Order Total Module? Here is how I have it set up:
Discount Coupon ot_coupon 280
Group Discount ot_group_pricing 290
Gift Certificates ot_gv 840
Low Order Fee ot_loworderfee 400
Shipping ot_shipping 200
Sub-Total ot_subtotal 100
Tax ot_tax 300
Total ot_total 999
Thanks again for your help!
What version of Zen Cart are you using?
Is this a clean install or an Upgrade?
If an upgrade, how did you do the Upgrade?
On the Tools ... Server Info ... what do you see on the Zen Cart version/patch listing ...
Zen Cart 1.3.5
Database Patch Level: 1.3.5
v1.3.5 [2006-09-22 03:45:11] (Fresh Installation)
That version is so old and buggy and really such a security issue without all of the patches and updates to it I am really not sure what to advise you to do on it ... other than upgrade ...
Okay. I'll read up on upgrading and take it from there.
Thanks for your help.
