Hi Anne - All the best for the New Year! - thanks for all your previous assistance.

When anyone accesses my site the following script runs - I didn't even realise this occurred until over Xmas when the GSGD site must have been taking a hit and I got to see this access to the GSGD site address sitting there on the loading bar. I emailed GSGD about the reason that the script needs to run - but so far no reply.
Can this script be disabled without causuing problems with the slider operation ?

These are jquery libraries that are being called remotely by the template so as to eliminate the need to store the libraries on your server. It is very common practice and best practice when using large jquey libraries.

As you are probably aware their has been a great deal of news in the press about the problem with PC's having Java script enabled in the browser.

"This vulnerability is being attacked in the wild, and is reported to be incorporated into exploit kits," the department's Computer Emergency Readiness Team (CERT) said in a notice on its website. "We are currently unaware of a practical solution to this problem."
The recommended solution was to disable Java. Three computer security experts also said computer users should disable those Java modules to protect themselves from attack."

Of course following the "experts" lead and disabling Java in browsers means that the Jquery sliding display no longer appears to users browsers.
If I decided to replace the Jquery slider so that a large blank area is not displayed in the header area, with a standard static display item, can you give me a pointer to how to achieve this.

A large majority of users have javascript enabled. The only stat I was able to find was around 2% disabled:

But, if you want to replace the slide show with a static image, you can remove the call for the slide show in the includes/templates/avonlee_contempo/common/tpl_main_page.php file and just insert a large image there, or add your image to the define_main_page.php file and it will show in in between the left and right hand columns.

Hi,

This may be a simple one, but having a few problems finding the solution. I have added a best sellers banner on my site http://www.thewelliestore.co.uk/ and adjusted the width of the sidebox and the column on the right to accomodate the size of the images and text. This looks fine on the homepage, yet at product level the sidebar reverts to original size.

Do you have any idea of how to fix this issue?

There is a tutorial in the FAQ's section with details on how to change the width of the right and left hand columns. Do this in admin--configuration--layout settings.

Just trying to "install" this template.

I have copy the the include folder into the root directory of my webshop (where the admin and include folder is etc.).

I have updated the database too...

But in the admin page under template selection. The newly copied template isn't available. it doesn't show up as one of the template I can choose between :/.

I have tried some of your other templates, but it is the same.

When I copy the files I have used Filezilla, but also copy it with the cp command in Linux.

What is wrong??

It sounds like you are uploading the files to the wrong place on your server. Check for includes/templates/avonlee_contempo/template_info.php file.

If you are not seeing the template in your admin--tools--template selection then the files are not uploaded to the correct place on your server.

I had the same issue when I originally installed the template and it was my fault. I thought I was copying it to the right place - but I wasn't.
Using Filezilla - in the the right hand window you should be able to see your cache, classes,docs,downloads .... includes directories.
- in the left hand column as long as you have set up the Avonlee-Contempo directory correctly on your PC - right clicking on the includes directory and selecting Upload should work for you.

This is not a problem with the template. Do a search for the FAQs section of this website for a tutorial about how to set the order of your previous/next products on the product info page.

I am using your great Avonlee-Contempo template. Q. How difficult is it to move the Slider to above and to the right of the Logo in the header space. I currently have the Language and Currency selections in that area but they could move to side boxes. I feel that the header space would be ideal and also free up space beneath the header area for featured products etc.

You can add the slide show code to the tpl_header.php file if you want it to show up in the header. You will need to also add an if statement if you want it to only show on the home page.

I could be losing the plot here. However I installed the social_network_sidebar.

Hi Anne - thanks for your advice regarding Social Network Slider.

I have still an issue with the height of the bar after removing the unwanted icons etc.

"You can shorten the bar by adjusting the stylesheet_social_sidebar.css"

Do I need to create a new entry to achieve this. I think it is 300px high standard but as I have only 3 Icons 155px is required.

Hi anna. First of all i just wanna say thanks for this free template, second i have a little issue i can't find a solution for. After installing the template it is a script on the frontend that shows new product, featured and special. This module tab does not work on my site. If i can't get it working, ill rather remove it. Can you point me i the right direction on any of the issues? Many thanks.

I do have one problem though...

The social media links at the bottom of the page don't link to the addresses entered into the 'footer_menu_defines.php' file.
They link to: http://www.libriumgames.co.uk/Store/blingthemes (should be facebook), http://www.libriumgames.co.uk/Store/blingthemes (should be twitter) and http://www.libriumgames.co.uk/Store/youtube (should be my YouTube account) instead of the url's listed below.

I have entered:

This is not a template related problem. Check to see if you have other templates installed with files that are using the same constants that may not be in the override directories.

I believe that someone had this same problem so if you read or search through the thread you will find the answer.

No worries, all I did was searched for the incorrectly referenced url 'blingthemes' using the developers tool kit, and it came up with some files within a theme not being used, in my case it was the 'EstoreNow' template. I just deleted that template from the system and 'tada'... all the links worked correctly!

Hello Anne. Thank you for the Avonlee template. It's great. I am running ZC version 1.5.1. I have everything pretty much squared away but I am having a problem with the Main page, with the New, Featured, Specials section. The new products are not automatically loaded. My users have to actually click on the New link in order for the products to load. I noticed that in your demo the New products automatically load. Have I done something wrong?

I have yet another question. Most of my products are downloadable images. Everything is working great, but when the customer gets to Checkout Success page the actual path is displayed on this page. The customer can download the image from here, but I don't like that they can actually see the path and filename on the server for the image that they just purchased. I have tried looking and looking. I found where I can change the names header names, but I can't actually remove that Filename. I have attached a screen shot from the checkout success page highlighting the area I am looking to remove.

I've successfully installed the Avonlee Contempo template and was going through the set up. Everything looked great. However, when I got to the slider image addition suddenly the font size on the site seemed to change so the headings didn't display correctly and then when I refreshed there was just a blank screen. The blank screen is there when you try to look at the store on all browsers.

I've gone into the client's c-panel and checked the error logs. It says there's a header error:

I've now managed to restore the store (having taken it out of maintenance mode which is where the php errors - some anyway seemed to be in the php files it was referring to). Still don't know how to fix that but at least I can see how the store looks quickly before putting it back into maintenance mode. If you know how to fix it so that the store front and maintenance mode message is visible that would be truly amazing.

However, when I took the store out of maintenance mode and could see it the headings in the side boxes are too big. Please could you tell me how to sort that. I've looked in the css file but not sure where to find them. Thank you:)

To remove something from the footer menu you need to remove both the define statement and the constant that is down toward the bottom of the file ;)

The owner of it said "I am able to update for the Buy Now vs Sold Out, but the price has moved from inside a div with a class name of listingPrice to just nothing. Could that price be put inside a div with a class again?"

I have no idea how to move that or if I can so it will show up. I have searched for an answer but have come up empty.

Thanks for the quick reply, I assume I need the change for the product listing as it crawls each product page individually. Things like this I have no clue about. My previous site was 1.3.9h with my own template (I mainly just changed background color) and it was being crawled correctly until my upgrade, I do not know where to begin to look for this change between what I had and what I have now.

It looks like only one file, footer_menu_defines.php, controls the footer menu:
Headings are: Quick Links | Information | Customer Service | Important Links

I edited: /includes/languages/english/extra_definitions/avonlee_contempo/footer_menu_defines.php.
I removed all the socialMedia icons and links in the Footer, column four. I dont want socialMedia links. Is this the only file that needs to be touched? Was there an Add-on that created these socialMedia links where I can find any other files that are altered/added with the Add-on?

I removed all the socialMedia icons and links in the Footer, column four. I dont want socialMedia links. Is this the only file that needs to be touched? Was there an Add-on that created these socialMedia links where I can find any other files that are altered/added with the Add-on?

I'm wanting the Search Tab added to the top Menu Bar only. Not the L column.
However, when I turn on SearchBOX in Admin/ Tools/ Layout/ [L] Column it shows up on the Tab and in the L ColumnBox.

How do I control the Tabs Menu Bar only, adding Search Tab?

If you read the instructions in the readme.html file you will see the settings needed to turn on the header search box. You need to only turn on the single column status and turn off the left/right hand column status.

Thank you. That did the trick.

I'm trying to change the storepickup.php file to basically change the text to say "Free Local Delivery" instead of the "Store Pickup" text. I changed the text in the PHP and now my admin shows "MODULE_SHIPPING_STOREPICKUP_TEXT_TITLE" in the shipping module screen.

I even changed everything back and uploaded the unchanged PHP file and it still says this. I posted on the Modules forum but haven't had much feedback on it. Here is the code as I currently have it:

DISCLAIMER:I have not tested your logic or my solution but, if I understand your question, you are simply changing a variable value.
I did a simple search on the variable value 'Store Pickup' and found it at: /store/includes/languages/english/modules/shipping/storepickup.php

At about line #22 I fount the TITLE_TEXT: You need to change the value of the TITLE_TEXT variable from 'Store Pickup' to 'Free Local Delivery'

I fear you have a syntax error somewhere. You may also have a cache problem, FTP editor or server editor if that is what you are using. Changing the variable value should not cause action you are describing unless there is a syntax error. Download a fresh copy of the source code to upload to the server. Use a proper editor like Notepad++ to make the change on your local file, not Microsoft Notepad or any other Windows/Microsoft editor. Delete the server copy of storepickup.php , make the change on an local copy of storepickup.php and upload the changed page to the server. That should do it, assuming the length of the variables make no difference your logic is correct.

At this point a Q&A session or the SWAG method to find the problem would take longer than it would to upload a clean set of error free files. I would upload a clean set of files making sure to retain a copy of the 'Configure.php' files before deleting the old files on the server. Leave off the Avonlee modification until you have control of the 'storepickup.php'. I have to work on a customer's ZC in the next day or so. I have a test store there so I will take a closer look then.
