Re: Wordpress On Zencart / Released
Hi all,
I've been trying to integrate both programs for the last 2 days. I don't seem to be getting anywhere. Not too sure what went wrong. I will list out the different methods I used.
Method A
1) Created woz category and uploaded zen cart 1.3.8a and wordpress 2.5 into individual folders.
2) Used different databases for both ZC and WP.
3) Installation went fine. Uploaded WOZ folders into the stated folders.
--> Do not understand the instructions: *[/ZC_ROOT/includes/templates/MY_TEMP/] to [/includes/templates/template_default/] --> can someone explain the meaning of this?
4) Edited the file for ZC: ('ABSPATH','/var/www/vhosts/mysite.com/httpdocs/woz/wordpress_25/')
5) Sideboxes were showing on ZC but I'm getting a "file not found".
This is what I get: http://www.singaporevault.com/woz/ze...page=wordpress
Method B would be the same as above, except that I used wordpress 2.51. Same problem.
From my understanding, it is due to my editing of the file includes/extra_configures/wordpress-config.php
I am just not understanding what is wrong though. I followed the instructions given by HIRA on his site: http://www.s-page.net/en/2008/04/13/...v138_and_wp25/
Any help would be grateful. Thank you...

Re: Wordpress On Zencart / Released
I think that ABSPATH is wrong simply.
Please confirm whether ABSPATH has a file(wp-config.php).
-
Re: Wordpress On Zencart / Released
I'm not good with ABSPATH.
My "wp-config.php" file is in "wew.singaporevault.com/woz/wordpress_25/wp-config.php"
So, what should I type into the "includes/extra_configures/wordpress-config.php" file?
What does "/var/" means?
What does "/vhosts/" means?
What does /httpdocs/" means?
If I've a better idea on how to create the path, I should be able to make it work.
I've tried a different method.
Method C:
1) Put both ZC and WP into the same folder.
2) Used the same database
3) Installed everything but again, I get the same problem.
Check: http://www.singaporevault.com/next/i...page=wordpress
I'm encountering same issue.
Arigato HIRA...

Re: Wordpress On Zencart / Released
Hi HIRA,
I've figured out the path for ABSPATH.
For anyone who needs to find it, I found it in post #218.
Quote:
hi,
It seems to have been hard to understand my explanation.
1.At first open [/includes/configure.php] on the server.
2.Please look at the line of [ define('DIR_FS_CATALOG', '***'); ] ,
and please copy text ***.
3.Open [/includes/extra_configures/wordpress-config.php] ,
and please paste a [***]+WordPress directory.
If it is your environment, it is the following images.
define ('ABSPATH','***wordpress/');
An important thing is to input it without making a mistake a COMPLETE path to your WordPress directory.
Now, I've a different problem. I got it to work when I put everything into the same folder but when I put them in 2 different folders, I get an error.
See the error at: http://www.singaporevault.com/woz/ze...page=wordpress

It's that simple... first active line in wordpress-config.php
If you place all in the root, "wew.singaporevault.com" then 'ABSPATH','/'

Re: Wordpress On Zencart / Released
:censored:
I've been in the process of switching webhosts and my new host set me up a temporary website while I got all the kinks worked out. I had everything working perfectly, but as soon as the domain name propagated today I got this error:
Warning: Cannot modify header information - headers already sent by (output started at /home/queerrep/public_html/includes/templates/qr/common/html_header.php:22) in /home/queerrep/public_html/wp-includes/pluggable.php on line 689
I read that sometimes this error is caused by an extra space or lines in the first file it mentions ... so I checked and there's no extra space or lines. So I looked at the second file and on lines 688 and 689 it reads,
Code:
status_header($status); // This causes problems on IIS and some FastCGI setups
header("Location: $location");
Is this what's causing this message? If so, how do I get rid of it?
page is here:
http://www.queerrepublictees.com/ind...page=wordpress
I'm running ZenCart 1.3.7 and this is WP 2.5

Which version of Word Press are you using? I see you're using BlueHost and I was told by them this morning that people using WP 2.5 need to upgrade to 2.5.1 because there are too many problems on their platform with 2.5.
Is anybody out there using 2.5.1 successfully with the WOZ module?
I guess I'll take one for the team and try it later today ....

Re: Wordpress On Zencart / Released
I''m using version 2.3.2. Do you have an idea of what's going on?

No, I'm sorry ... I don't. I'm not technical at all. If you haven't already, it wouldn't hurt to call BlueHost and ask if they can help. They were a tremendous help to me this morning installing some affiliate software.
Sounds really strange, though, that everything else seems to be working correctly for you.

I'm using WP 2.5.1 and ZC 1.3.8 and it's working fine. I've not used the achieves function. Hence, can't tell you if it works properly. I've used WP 2.5 and it works too.

I believe this problem might be caused by having ZC and WP installed in 2 different directories. From what I've read in the forum, it's best to install both ZC and WP in the same directory. Everything will be in the same place. Do not install WP index.php when you install everything in the same location. ZC has it's own index.php which you will be using.
Next, if everything is already installed in the same folder, then check WP Blog URL. Check if you have typed in "www" or without "www". Example: http://mysite.com/blog or http://www.mysite.com/blog.
If you used http://mysite.com/blog, then your ZC's WP address will be: http://mysite.com/blog/index.php?main_page=wordpress
If you used http://www.mysite.com/blog, then your ZC's WP address will be: http://www.mysite.com/blog/index.php...page=wordpress
Hope my explanation is not too complicated for you. Took me like 3 days to figure things out.
Good luck...

Well, I just upgraded to 2.5.1 Wordpress and that didn't fix the issue for me. This is a very weird problem.

rlfresh, I also just spoke to Bluehost, they're telling me they can't help me, lol. I am literally out of ideas.

Re: Wordpress On Zencart / Released
I set up a different file for example
http://www.oxylifeco.com/store/main.php?cat=29
Like that, it does display posts per category, what's happening in this madness? some conflict I'm not seing?

Thanks, Svault. I did have them in the same directory and I agree with you that it's the way to go. It worked for me last time with my old host (ipower) and it worked for me again this time with my new one (bluehost).
To fix the problem that I was having yesterday, I reinstalled both Wordpress (v2.5.1) and the WOZ module and now it's working fine.

Sorry to hear that. Maybe I just lucked up when I called.
I went back to the link you gave first: http://www.oxylifeco.com/store/?cat=29 and notice that it gives the same error message that I was getting.
The link that you gave in your last post: http://www.oxylifeco.com/store/main.php?cat=29 ... no clue why they show up there correctly.
You mentioned you upgraded to 2.5.1 ... did you do an "upgrade" or did you completely reinstall it? If the former, then maybe you should reinstall both WP and WOZ? That's what I had to do and now it's working fine. :wacko:

Re: Wordpress On Zencart / Released
Regarding upgrading Wordpress to the latest version for your Wordpress on Zencart:
Your theme has a header.php page that is basically an include for the blog header. You will see the header.php file in all the themes (i.e. default, classic etc.).
I edit that file to remove the DOCTYPE, meta, title tags (first 8 lines in WP 2.5.1) as these tags get placed in the middle of your Zen Cart page where they do not belong and your Zen Cart page already has these in the right place.
I have found that leaving them in does not appear to break the page but removing them does not break Wordpress either.

Re: Wordpress On Zencart / Released
I've got things more or less working on a local server with zc 1.3.8a and wp 2.5 both together in the same directory, although they use different databases. On my main page, I have a single current post showing up the way I want to, and my sidebox links by category and by month/year properly navigate to the right pages. If I manually direct the browser to http://[URL="http://www.example.com/"]www.example.com/[/URL]?, I am able to navigate to the right page.
Unfortunately I still have this small hiccup I haven't figured out how to fix yet! The title of the wp_cats sidebox is a link directed to the wrong place. The wp_archives sidebox title is not a link, so the problem I'm encountering is only with the wp_cats title. When I try to get to my blog by clicking on the wp_cat sidebox title link, I get a 404 error because the link is navigating to
http://www.example.com/index.php?main_page=1&zenid=xxxx
where xxx is the actual zenid number. How do I make this sidebox title link to go to the right place?
PS I tried setting up a permalink, but I obviously haven't got the .htaccess coded right yet or something, so I backed out the permalinks to debug this problem first.
Thanks in advance, Karen

OK, I sorted out what was wrong here... In case anyone else makes the same mistake, here's what you need to know:
1) It doesn't matter which of the sideboxes you choose to use, but if you want the title to be a link, you need to make sure the appropriate file in includes/modules/sideboxes/YOUR_TEMPLATE/*.php has the variable $title_link set properly.
2) Therein lies my mistake. I just assumed that since I didn't want the value to be "false", then I must've wanted it to be "true". The logical value of True was correctly being passed into the link as the link parameter "index.php?main_page=1" instead of "index.php?main_page=wordpress" as it should've been. My wp_sidebar.php had it correct, but since I had that sidebox disabled, it took awhile to trackdown that I had used the wrong value when I changed my sidebox $title_link!!
Now with that corrected, I'll see if I can get permalinks working with Hira's SEO instructions. It does seem like a bit of a disconnect, though -- all the recommendations here say to install the ZC and WP code into the same directory in order to avoid unspecified probable issues, but Hira's instructions indicate that they should be in different directories for the SEO instructions. I'm hoping that is just a detail based on his experimentation, though, and off I go to try to get it working with them both installed in the root directory!
Hope this helps someone following in my (wrong) footsteps!

Re: Wordpress On Zencart / Released
Can someone tell me where to look in the db for wordpress links.
I was using woz until I found that it was breaking a few other things and just didn't want to deal with it. Anyways, I would like to build a sidebox that works with wp being in a separate dir. Looking in the db I can't find category names or the count of how many posts there are for each.
The sideboxes that are intended to work with woz haven't been much help as a guide.
Thanks in advance,
John
PS Just leaving the sidebox and language files up kinda works but it breaks Live Product Feed and Google Base Feed.

I did a modified install of WP with a sidebox on my ZC site and made some modifications to WP sidebox for it to work. I found the file \includes\extra_configures\wordpress-config.php is designed to make a feed. I commented this out and my ZC rss feeds started working again.
Code:
/*if(isset($_GET['feed'])){
wp();
gzip_compression();
// require_once('./wordpress/wp-includes/template-loader.php');
require_once(ABSPATH . WPINC . '/template-loader.php');
exit();
}*/

Re: Wordpress On Zencart / Released
Hey Dave, Thanks. That almost works for me. Not sure why but it fixes the RSS problem and leaves me with a broken sidebox. I did mine just like yours and it broke.
Thanks,
John

Re: Wordpress On Zencart / Released
Hi All! I have a couple of questions...
First, please know that I'm creating all of this for someone else (two sites) and I just need a little direction.
1) Created zencart in domain.com/store... They wanted domain.com to have the blog on it. What would be the proper way to have that domain.com to look right? (with the zen cart template etc)
2)Different site/setup. Set up Zencart in domain.com/store. Set up Wordpress in domain.com/blog- everything is great! Now they would like to add a second blog... I've got that all installed in domain.com/news- not pretty but functioning. How do I make that one look right? (with the zen cart template etc)
Since these are not my sites, I really didn't want to post links here. If you would like to see the issues, please PM me and I'll send them to you!
Thanks

Re: Wordpress On Zencart / Released
ok. so installation has been a breeze, and there aren't any issues with the actual WP install.
however, when a user logs into zencart, they get this:
Fatal error: Call to undefined function: vtu_checkuserws() in /home/soapdish/public_html/soapdish/includes/classes/observers/class.loginWordPress.php on line 27
they get a similar error when they register, although in either case, simply refreshing shows that you are both logged in and everything appears as it should.
line 27, FYI is this:
vtu_checkUserWS($email, $inCart);
vtu_checkUserWS appears in one other place...
line 33 of class.registerWordPress.php
vtu_checkUserWS($email, true);
any ideas? the site is www.prettybabynaturals.com/soapdish

I only wanted the sidebox to show on my blog page, so I added the following to the very beginning of my store's template stylesheet:
PHP Code:
#wparchives {display:none}
#wpcats {display:none}
#wplinks {display:none}
#wppages {display:none}
#wpsidebar {display:none}
Don't know if that helps you any.

Re: Wordpress On Zencart / Released
Hi @ all,
first, my english is not great, so please excuse me.
I use Zen 1.3.7 and WP 2.3.3.
zen in /shop/
cms in /shop/cms/
For me the best solution. But if i change any permalink structur,
it gives me only the entry site of zen, no error or anything else.
I tried with rewrites in zen htaccess, but i didnt found the way to do a URL like
/category/postname.html within my zen-cart URL.
Without permalink enabled, it works all the way with www.mydomain.com/?page_id=1
I wish it works like
www.mydomain.com/category/postname.html
I hope you understand me ?
Please help me.

Re: Wordpress On Zencart / Released
I've installed my blog at: http://twelvesteppets.com/petblog/ . Obviously I'm having a stylesheet issue, but I'm more concerned about the fact that my wp_sidebar.php link to http://twelvesteppets.com/index.php?main_page=wordpress brings up a file not found page with this message: file not found http://www.twelvesteppets.com/petblog/wp-config.php
I know the file is there, I can see it. Any ideas what I may have done wrong?
I am not sure if I did this correctly: "Open [Path of Zen-Cart]/includes/extra_configures/wordpress-config.php,and please replace
define ('ABSPATH','/var/www/vhost/example.com/public_html/blog/');
to
define ('ABSPATH','[Path of WordPress]');"
I tried changing it to
define ('ABSPATH','http://www.twelvesteppets.com/petblog/');
and also define ('ABSPATH','/var/www/vhost/twelvesteppets.com/public_html/petblog/');
both tell me wp-config.php is not found.
-
Re: Wordpress On Zencart / Released
Try this:
Open your configure.php file from Zencart and find this:
Code:
define('DIR_FS_CATALOG',
(should be around line 41)
That is that actual path to your Zen files. If you are putting WP in it's own directory, such as "Blog", you would just at "/blog" to the end of that path. If you are installing WP in the same directory as ZC the paths should be the same.
My host (godaddy) doesn't use the "public_html", it's just "html" and my site domain (www.yourdomain.com) is not part of that path either. Doesn't mean your won't be but it's worth double checking.
-
Re: Wordpress On Zencart / Released
I'm also getting the message
Quote:
file not found /domains/everythingembellished.com/public_html/blog/wp-config.php
http://www.everythingembellished.com...page=wordpress
My wp-config.php
Quote:
define ('ABSPATH','/domains/everythingembellished.com/public_html/blog/');
Properties of wp-config (located in the /blog directory)
Quote:
/domains/everythingembellished.com/public_html/blog/wp-config.php
Not really sure what I am missing here.
I've tried other combinations as well and nothing seems to work.
Do I have the
Quote:
define ('ABSPATH','[Path of WordPress]');
wrong?
:blink:

Re: Wordpress On Zencart / Released
In your ZenCart configure.php (includes/configure.php) what does it say here:
Code:
// * DIR_FS_* = Filesystem directories (local/physical)
//the following path is a COMPLETE path to your Zen Cart files. eg: /var/www/vhost/accountname/public_html/store/
define('DIR_FS_CATALOG', 'WHAT DOES IT SAY HERE?');
This should be around line 40. This is the direct path to your ZC. If you are putting WP in it's own directory, as in "blog", all you would have to do in your wordpress-config.php file is add the path to ZC and then add "blog/" at the end.
The wordpress-config.php is part of the WOZ install and is located in includes/extra_configures/wordpress-config.php. This is the file where you need to define the path to WP.

Thanks for posting! I think I am having a similar issue, but I'm just not getting it. My blog works fine http://twelvesteppets.com/index.php?main_page=wordpress However, the links in the sidebar are not right. For example, category "Puppy Log" takes you to http://twelvesteppets.com/petblog/?cat=7 which obviously isn't quite right. Are you saying there is something in sideboxes/wp_sidebar that needs changing? I'm looking at $title_link = 'wordpress' ; Is that what you had to change?
Thanks in advance!

Re: Wordpress On Zencart / Released
Still looking for a way to turn off WP sideboxes on certain ZC pages. I tried using:
Code:
if
(in_array($cPath,explode(",",'14,14_1,14_2,14_3,14_19,5,14_6')) ) {
$show_blank_sidebox= false;
} else {
$show_blank_sidebox= true;
}
and
Code:
if (isset($_GET['products_id,shopping_cart'])) {
$show_blank_sidebox= false;
} else {
$show_blank_sidebox= true;
}
but it only works for ZC sideboxes. I'm at a loss so if anyone has a solution that they could share it would be awesome!
Thanks
ps The blank sidebox isn't the sidebox I'm trying to turn off. It's just an example of code.

You also need to tell the sidebox what to do if it is set to show
Code:
if
(in_array($cPath,explode(",",'14,14_1,14_2,14_3,14_19,5,14_6')) ) {
$show_blank_sidebox= false;
} else {

}
if ($show_blank_sidebox == true;) {
Do whatever its supposed to do
}

Re: Wordpress On Zencart / Released
Hey Clyde,
Here is the code I have for my "wp_sidebar" sidebox:
Code:
<?php
//
// +----------------------------------------------------------------------+
// |zen-cart Open Source E-commerce |
// +----------------------------------------------------------------------+
// | Copyright (c) 2004 The zen-cart developers |
// | |
// | http://www.zen-cart.com/index.php |
// | |
// | Portions Copyright (c) 2003 osCommerce |
// +----------------------------------------------------------------------+
// | This source file is subject to version 2.0 of the GPL license, |
// | that is bundled with this package in the file LICENSE, and is |
// | available through the world-wide-web at the following url: |
// | http://www.zen-cart.com/license/2_0.txt. |
// | If you did not receive a copy of the zen-cart license and are unable |
// | to obtain it through the world-wide-web, please send a note to |
// | [email protected] so we can mail you a copy immediately. |
// +----------------------------------------------------------------------+
if (in_array($cPath,explode(",",'14,14_1,14_2,14_3,14_19,5,14_6')) ) {
$show_wp_sidebar= false;
} else {
$show_wp_sidebar= true;
}
if ($show_wp_sidebar == true) {
require($template->get_template_dir('tpl_wp_cats.php',DIR_WS_TEMPLATE, $current_page_base,'sideboxes'). '/tpl_wp_sidebar.php');
$title = BOX_HEADING_WP_SIDEBAR;
$left_corner = false;
$right_corner = false;
$right_arrow = false;
$title_link = 'wordpress';
require($template->get_template_dir($column_box_default, DIR_WS_TEMPLATE, $current_page_base,'common') . '/' . $column_box_default);
?>
But it completely shuts off my right column. Well not shuts off but the only thing that shows up is this:
Code:
Parse error: parse error, unexpected $ in /home/content/b/a/s/basherbeatz/html/includes/modules/sideboxes/wp_sidebar.php on line 38
It's obvious that I'm missing something. I just don't know what that something is. Is the code that I'm using even close to what I need?
Thanks Clyde!

You forgot to close the final if statement:
Code:
if ($show_wp_sidebar == true) {
require($template->get_template_dir('tpl_wp_cats.php',DIR_WS_TEMPLATE, $current_page_base,'sideboxes'). '/tpl_wp_sidebar.php');

Re: Wordpress On Zencart / Released
I'm an idiot!!! :lamo:
I forgot one "}".
That's it. I still couldn't get the wp sidebox to not show on my main page without it also not showing on my WP pages. So I decided to add the "archives" to the "categories" sidebox and just have them on all the time.
Not exactly what I was looking for but it gets the job done.

Re: Wordpress On Zencart / Released
Is there a way to include the contents of WP in the ZC search form?
ie: When you type something in the search box from ZC it will include entries from the WP database. I installed WP in the same database as ZC.
-
Re: Wordpress On Zencart / Released
I have installed - all is fine except when I changed the root url (as notes below) nothing works
Step2)Setting of WordPress
[WordPress admin URL] › Options › General
[Blog address (URL)] change to [Zen-Cart URL].
[WordPress admin URL] › Presentation › Themes
Select WordPress Default 1.6(Default setting)*1
before the root was (fake domain used)
http://www.123nothingzzz.co.uk/store...e/wp-login.php
the zen cart root is
http://www.123nothingzzz.co.uk/store
so now when I go to login I get
http://www.123nothingzzz.co.uk/store/wp-login.php and a 404 error
Also none of the style sheets work, or the links........
Can i manually edit a file via dreamweaver to correct and then what should I do?
The store root is http://www.123nothingzzz.co.uk/store/
WP is installed under this in the folder /Clean-Language/

Re: Wordpress On Zencart / Released
I'm trying to use WordPress on ZenCart. Everything works fine until I change the wordpress-config.php file, then I start getting this error:
Fatal error: Call to a member function add_current_page() on a non-object in D:\Inetpub\indychristianclothing\ZenCart\includes\autoload_func.php on line 91
ZenCart 1.3.8a
WordPress: 2.6
Server: IIS (but I installed all of this on a Linux server last night and as soon as I changed to wordpress-config.php file it broke also)
Thanks,

Re: Wordpress On Zencart / Released
In the WOZ install I want to be able to get the WP title and keyword datd to out put instead of the zens cart one.s on the pages that are WP.
In the header file I wanted to write an if/else statement but this doesnt deem to work.
I was going to do it the simple way and just have the wp_head loop first to get the titles and keywords out first where they exsist. So i have
<?php
/**
* Common Template
/**
* load the module for generating page meta-tags
*/
require(DIR_WS_MODULES . zen_get_module_directory('meta_tags.php'));
/**
* output main page HEAD tag and related headers/meta-tags, etc
*/
?>
<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">
<html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml" <?php echo HTML_PARAMS; ?>>
<head>
<?php wp_head(); ?>
<title><?php echo META_TAG_TITLE; ?></title>
<script src="http://www.google-analytics.com/urchin.js" type="text/javascript">
</script>
<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=<?php echo CHARSET; ?>" />
<meta name="keywords" content="<?php echo META_TAG_KEYWORDS; ?>" />
<meta name="description" content="<?php echo META_TAG_DESCRIPTION; ?>" />
is there another way of doing this?

Finally something I can answer! :smile: I think. :lookaroun
You need to change the permission within your web-host control panel or FTP client. If using the control panel method, log into your account and look for the file manager. You should see something similar to the attached screen shot. There is a column on the far right titled "perms" (permissions).
http://www.queerrepublictees.com/images/screen-shot.jpg
Check the box next to the file or folder you want to change the permissions to and then click the "change permissions" button and that's it.

Hmmm. I'm not really sure about that, Jenn. If you do it that way then I don't know if it will flow seamlessly with your ZC store without a lot of modification.
Sorry. Maybe somebody else can come along and give you some advice.

Re: Wordpress On Zencart / Released
ok, the part that says --
Upload the contents of [ZC_ROOT] to [Path of Zen-Cart] on the server.
Upload the contents of [WP_ROOT] to [Path of WordPress] on the server.
does the first point mean i drop the ZC_ROOT folder into /public_html?
and then the second point means i drop the WP_ROOT folder into /public_html/blog?

Exactly. Unless you have your ZC store files located in a sub-folder which you probably don't.

Yes

I don't mean to make matters more confusing but I should probably tell you that I did not put the WP files in a separate folder because I couldn't get it to work that way. I put them all in the public_html. But go ahead and try putting them in your "blog" folder. If it doesn't work you can go back and do it the other way.

Re: Wordpress On Zencart / Released
ok, i've got it all installed, but the blog page doesn't "look" like my website. it's the regular WP template. is this contribution supposed to only add WP to ZC or make it look all the same?
also, i can't access WP admin.

It *should* look like it is a part of your website. If I remember correctly I had this same problem. I suggest you try the installation again but this time put the WP files directly into your public_html folder.

Re: Wordpress On Zencart
The wordpress stylesheet loads on every zen cart page - making certain css code changes finicky or impossible.
Anyone know what would be necessary to make the woz.css file load only on the 'WordPress Within Zen-Cart' pages?
-
Re: Wordpress On Zencart - Disabling Right Column for WordPress Pages ONLY.
O.k. This actually is a tough one I believe, as it would require some code to recognize if a page is a WordPress page or not.
Normally disabling the right column is an easy task by adding some code to the tpl_main_page.php or to the stylesheet, but this is not possible with the WordPress pages because stylesheet_woz.css is global, so disabling the right column would obviously shut them off on all pages that load that stylesheet (which is all pages because it is global).
I'm thinking there must be some sort of an 'if else' statement that could help in disabling the right column for wordpress only pages.
Any Help?
This would actually be a helpful thing for many people.
-
Re: Wordpress On Zencart / Released

You can turn the right column off in zen cart's admin without editing the css file, which would may solve your problem.

That would be nice and easy, just that I want the right column on for some pages and off for all the wordpress pages.
I tried putting the $flag_disable_right variable into the tpl_wordpress_default.php and although it works, it works too well and turns off right column on every page. I am thinking that if there is a way to disable the right column with that variable and then somehow enable it again?? Something to that effect.
-
Re: Wordpress On Zencart / Released
To disable just the right column of ONLY WordPress pages, put the following:
<?php $flag_disable_right = true;?>
at the very top line of tpl_wordpress_default.php - which is located in your templates/Custom_template/ folder.
Sorry for posting so many times, but I figured it would be important for some people to have their blog take up a larger portion of the page by disabling the right column only. Seeing as how WordPress has its own sidebar, I would think people would want to disable zen cart's left or right side.
-
Re: Wordpress On Zencart / Released
I am wondering if it would be possible to move the header information for WordPress up to the Zen-Cart heading.
It would be oh so nice to have a WordPress within Zen-Cart that would actually validate too! As it stands, having the head in the middle of your page really screws with the whole valid xhtml thing.
I think that in the Zen-Cart heading you would need to have something that can detect whether or not it is a wordpress page, then select the proper stylesheet and javascript.
There has got to be some way to do this, any really smart people out there?

Custom 404 Error Page with Site Map Sample Text ...
Put your custom "page not found" message here. You can change this text in the Define Pages Editor located under Tools in the Admin.
How can I correct this problem so that customers and vistiors don't get an error message and be sent to site map page of my store.
Please check out my installation below & click on one of the titles to see a example of the problems that is showing up

Has anybody made Wordpress work when it was installed in a subfolder? Mine is at http://twelvesteppets.com/index.php?...nmsjnoou27oba4
that looks fine, but click on any other link to the blog, archives, or categories and it loses the stylesheet and zen components. I'm afraid to reinstall and lose everything. Ideas?

Hi all
Sorry if this questions been asked already but I have a problem with the layout of the blog
you can see this at http://www.weddingandgems.co.uk/?p=1
As you can see the blog post is overlapping the nav colomn. I'm sure there will be something to fix this one of the css files but I'm a bit confused and I really don't want to mess everything up.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

Easiest way is to diable right hand column for blog pages
as per
i.e

WordPress/ZenCart
(hard to search here in this long long concrete thread, or I overlooked something?)
Is there some simple way to turn out WOZ just for testing? (some piece of code? rename some file from distribution?)
And the problem: we have rss feed (http://www.ekorodinka.cz/index.php?ma ... ge=rss_feed&feed=products), but WOZ "takes" this to itself "...is not a valid feed..." (the message from wp-includes/functions.php).
I suspect the code includes/extra-configures/worpress-config.php:
if($req=='?'){
$_GET['main_page']='wordpress';
}
it means that all the URLs with "?" goes to the wordress?
but propably its another reason
PS: we have Magic SEO, its still not comunicate with WOZ, but it is in progress

Re: Wordpress On Zencart / Released
Hi all,
I have 2 problems with my installation, first of all, wordpress either doesn't recognise <br /> or <p></p> so I can't get any proper line spacing in the posts, I've tried when the visual editors been disabled but even when i write it in with html it just ignores it.
The second issue is that there seems to be a phatom side bar on the post which forces the post over to the right, originally the post exceed its allotted space and wrote over the right hand side bar so I narrowed down the post with to make it fit better. But I can get it to fill all of the space.
If any of you have experienced this or have any ideas, please let me know, you can view what I'm talking about by visiting the blog
blog
If you could solve either of these problems I'd be very grateful.
Thanks
Kerrie

Re: Wordpress On Zencart / Released
This mod has been a bit of a nightmare for me, I can't get rid of the space to the left of the text on the blog, I've also realised that i now have stuff that should be between the header tags in my body tags and I can't actually get wordpress to recognise the space between paragraphs, tried using the visual editor, I've even turned it off and coded it in html, still doesn't work. For the moment i can just about live with the lack of formatting, it's the stuff that shouldn't be there in the body that bothers me. Has any one else had this problem? More importantly does any one know how to fix it?
Thanks

Re: Wordpress On Zencart / Released
I would like to be able to turn off my zc right sideboxes while you are looking at the blog to make the page not so wide and distracting. Is there a way to do this?
-
Re: Wordpress On Zencart / Released
If i install this, would it by default look like my custom template or do I need to configure it? Also if so, can I configure it to a point where it basically just allows me to post what ever i want on the home page and let customers and visitors respond?
Sorry for asking, I would try it for myself but I'm not that experienced and don't want to mess up a live site.

Jason, I'm about to launch a website and the hosting company recommend using obstart so I found and followed your tip and get the following results from http://www.whatsmyip.org/mod_gzip_test/
Original Size: 17 KB
Gzipped Size: 3 KB
Data Savings: 82.35%
I think that's brilliant!
After some very late nights putting things together and getting to grips with zencart, mysql, phpmyadmin, and php (we've just changed from asp and ms access) I cannot tell you how happy I am that something I've done worked first time! - Cheers Phil

Sorry about calling you Jason (was looking at another post). Anyway, I just had this thought - why don't I also put this in admin/index.php and it seems a lot quicker although I can't test it out using the above link for security reasons. So, I'm about to edit all the admin *.php? pages and do the same - thought I'd share.

Re: Wordpress On Zencart / Released
I've been trying really hard to get "pretty" permalinks working in WOZ as described here:
http://codex.wordpress.org/Using_Permalinks
...with no luck. Visiting a permalink redirects to the store's main page.
By creating a .htaccess file I can force the site to visit the correct link, but then I receive a "page not found" error.
I've installed Wordpress in a directory within the Zencart install, it works fine so far.
Has anyone made progress in this area?

Re: Wordpress On Zencart / Released
Helppp, ok folks. I was ok loading the wordpress until here:
Step6)Layout Boxes Controller
Some side boxes are bundled with WOZ. To validate them
Please perform indication setting of wp_XXX by the indication setting of the ZenCart admin panel › tools › Layout Boxes Controller.
Step7)Check
you can access WordPress in [Zen-Cart URL]/index.php?main_page=wordpress.
It is OK if displayed this screen shot.
[Path of WordPress] of Step5 is wrong if displayed this screen shot. Please confirm it.
Please explain what the indication setting is in the layout boxes controller, should i see the WP as a sidbox?
Due to this, my site looke nothing like the screenshot.. I pretty much followed all the directions, the only other thing i was unsure of was the copying of of the files. i copied as followed
prokarateshop/WP_ROOT/wp-content/themes/default
and
prokarateshop/ZC_ROOT
should i have taken the content files out and moved them..
thanks in advance for your help
