I have it running just fine on a 1.3.7 site
Tanks I resolve the problem.
Dinix..you should always post what fixed it for you... I don't know how many times I have been looking how to fix something and I come along the same problem and then the person gives an answer like that. Please for everyone, put down an answer and lets make this thing grow!
Sorry, watt’s appending ,I put un off the files in the wrong place.
Next time I have more careful
cool..thanks for the update!
Hi, is there any chance anyone knows how to put a close button at both the top and bottom? It would be nice to have a close button on the top when there are really big images that go below the bottom of the screen and the user doesn't feel like scrolling down below the screen to close the image.
Also I am sure some people would like the close buttom at the top instead of bottom.
I would do a google, this gets used in a lot of things, I am sure someone has done it, or if anyone has got thickbox to work, it is easier to use. Wouldn't that be in the style sheet or Java sript...just a guess.
thanks for the info, I will try googleing the lightbox and see if there is someone who has done this. Like you say, there is probably someone who has.
I have a strong feeling it is the Javascript that would accomplish this after looking through the code, but perhaps the css could do it too somehow.
I need to ask, how big of an image are your running. I just can't see where you would need to take up more than the average screen.
You can also use thickbox in the product description area and just not upload a pic for that product, or you cold change the image for the close to be red or something to make it stand out more. If its text or something you have pop up in an image then you could also use a thickbox script, they have a scroll able box. Many options to get around this.
I would really rethink an image that is that big, but what ever works for you. Good luck.
"I would really rethink an image that is that big, but what ever works for you. Good luck." - godspeed27
Yes, perhaps your right about that, worth thinking about how big these images are. I can't just forget about the 56k crowd, which represents a large part of my audience.
I use the large pictures for something such as a pack of needles, which I though people might like to see the points on the needles. Here is an example of an image that is large and includes the packaging in the picture (a lot of people tend not to use packaging in their pictures, but I think it might give viewers more information) http://fabricstashinc.com/index.php?...products_id=32 I notice that some of the quilters who come into the physical store examine the products close to their face, so I thought closer is better.
"thickbox"
Have not ever heard of this, but it seems interesting. I will google for it, and see if implementing it will help.
Thanks very much for your concern
Wow...48856k on one jpg, thats a big file to me, can I suggest. Taking one of them out of the pack, do a close up shot on both ends, that jpg could be 100px x 100px and still show a lot, and have it load way faster. Your site seems to run slow to me too. I would check that out. optimize the images too, if you want to run lightbox you need it all to load up fast as that java will not run until everything is loaded.
Hello,
I am having trouble with my product descriptions in IE6 and i think might be because of the lighbox mod. Now, since i already upgraded to IE7 before this was discovered, it is hard for me to test and look into. I had made a post in the layout help area, and someone replied with the following:
"looks like the lightbox is the problem here: explorer shows some errors when loading its javascript. This version of Lightbox is obviously not presently supported by IE.
Uninstall the mod, your problem should be fixed!"
Now, i don't want to uninstall lightbox because i really like it, and so i've come here to see if anyone could help in any way.
The site can be found here: http://www.qcookies.com
Thanks in advance! :smile:
OK this is a very basic question indeed but one that I need to ask. I am in no way a coder but have manged to get by.
I have recently installed Zen Cart latest one and would like to install lightbox, however I am not clear as to what exactly to upload.
If I upload the includes folder surely that would delete my current includes folder and mess up zen cart. Or do I need to upload the files individually annd if so where. Please please help a novice.
Wel I have taken a shot at just uploading the files in the required places and after doing so I have put up a test product and the lightbox add on does not seem to work. Have no idea why this wld be.
www.umz.com/zen
If anyone has any ideas please let me know what the problem could be.
Wish I could edit the above posts...got it working now...it is fantatic I bow down to you sir for developing this and to all developers out there for having the skills.
I love this contrib, but I am having an issue with Opera. The opacity of the image seems to be about 60% making it very dull.
IE and Firefox seem to display images OK though.
I tried editing the opacity here:
#overlay {
-moz-opacity:0.6px;
background-color:#000;
filter:alpha(opacity=60); {changed this to 100 but had no effect}
height:500px;
left:0;
opacity:0.6px;
position:absolute;
top:0;
width:100%;
z-index:90;
}
Has anyone else experience this?
Update:
I tried a different computer running the Opera browser and it works OK, so the issue is isolated to my laptop. (which is unfortunate because this is my main development system).
I would still appreciate feedback on this issue. My specs are:
Opera Version
9.20
Build
8771
Platform
Win32
System
Windows XP (SP2)
Java
Sun Java Runtime Environment version 1.6
Auzm,
You know when you upload stuff, it doesn't delete the folder. If there is a file in that folder it will over right it, depending on your clients setup, but it will not delete the folder.
As for opera..whats the amount of people who use it. My stats on my site for Opera are less than 1% of my users. Check out the lightbox site to see if there is a fix for this as the person who made the module did not make lightbox. google it, you will find it.
Ok, I've read the thread but excuse me if I missed something....this is a long one!
Had a problem showing my additional images but solved it but I want to know if this is the "right" solution or if I'm missing something.
Example I'll use- item.jpg, item_a.jpg, item_b.jpg
1st picture showed up great but next image would not and hung up the browser/Lightbox. Clicked on an additional picture and even though it was in the same folder and named as above.
Looking at the location of the additional picture it was looking for it in the Large image folder even though the main/1st picture loaded fine without a counterpart in the large folder.
So I put copies of the additional photos in the large folder and added the suffix so the looked like this: item_a_LRG.jpg, item_b_LRG.jpg
Worked fine but is there another problem or is this the procedure to follow with additional picture items?
Curious mostly because with the first picture Lightbox seems to "create" the larger image.
This mod, by the way, blows everyone away that I show it too (including me!). It's great!
Does having IH2 cause lightbox not to work.
I have installed the latest version and it does not seem to work any longer.
Hey Woody!
No, I've read too much troubling stuff about IH2 to even really look at it since I love the functionality of Lightbox.
As I said, I've got things working and easy enough procedure for future additional pictures but just seemed odd to me. Any thoughts appreciate but don't waste too much energy on this one.
Your issues clearing up? I'm to the point where even the IE6 format issues are down to the "that's enough work, update your browser!" stage. Hope it's the same on your end.
Jeff
I have IH2 and Lightbox running well together. You may need to install some patches previously quoted in this thread (since release of last version half year ago), if certain functionality misbehaves (e.g. display additional images). I understand Alex is still working on an update. Hoping he'll consider putting out a "patch release" without any new features. Then the new features can wait for later.
Also I previously posted I had one Firefox client having trouble with Lightbox. I've since discovered the same client has similar issue with other Lightbox type functionailty on other websites. So it very likely a Firefox profile issue (about:config), nothing to do with the Lightbox mod.
Woody
Hey!,
So is the _LRG.jpg issue not correct? Should it "create" the larger version of the additional pictures from main image folder as well?
no lightbox doesn't "create" the large image itself it looks to the directory of the large images......
Thanks.
Weird. Wonder how it does it for the primary without an accompanying image in the large folder?
Lightbox does not "create" any images. It uses what you have configured for large images in Admin > Configuration > Images. That is the exact same image normally displayed when you click the "larger image" below the product image on the product description page.
The higher quality larger size image is generally uploaded to the /images/large directory and appended with the _LRG at the end of the filename. Again the prefix is determined in Admin > Configuration > Images
But I don't have to think about these details as ImageHandler2 does all that thinking for me!
Woody
In that case then it scales up the lower sized image. But this is not good. You should upload three differently scaled/optimized images.
Or use ImageHandler2 which does the resizing and resampling on the fly, so you only have to upload one image (best if large image) and don't need to apppend the filename.
Woody
I see!
Just what I need, more toys! Guess I'll have to look into it. Scared about all the horror stories of it breaking Lightbox though.
I'll work it offline on my copy to see how it goes since everything is working and a little of the heat is off....but not much!
Another unplanned day of Zen! Can't walk away from the damn thing and one issue sprouts to another....and another........
Thanks as always Woody and thanks to everyone else too!
OK, total noob to zen cart needs help.
I jumped in to help a friend on their site and while getting more familiar with zen cart, found this contribution, thought it would be a great fit.
Downloaded, renamed the folders, uploaded to server, seemed easy.
No luck, images still pop up in a new window.
At this point, don't know a great deal about the zen cart install. Also, reading this looong thread is not much help as a lot of it is greek to me.
Any help would be greatly, greatly appreciated.
http://www.pdplay.com/
I go to your site but where are you trying to get this to work, I don't seem to see your cart...not that I looked much but if you could provide a link to the cart, it might be better.
Thanks for your reply.
The site is using zen cart to display their catalog of products, not as an actual shopping cart. Here's a link to one of the product display pages that has a link to a larger image.
http://www.pdplay.com/atlantis.html
I think that is your problem, thats not a zen cart link right there. A link to a product would look more like index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=6&products_id=2 something like that. That page you put up is an html page...so if you want that page to have lightbox then you need to work that from the original lightbox code. You can google it to find it. You can also tie in the links to html pages to the files in the module for lightbox, it takes some hacking of the code but not to hard. That is not a zen cart link...sorry and good luck
Thanks for the reply, but that is a zen cart link. All of the individual product pages (.html) are generated on the fly by zen cart.
I did not do the initial installation for this site, so I'm not sure how this is accomplished, but it is no different than another zen cart website that was shown as a working sample earlier in this thread:
http://rafcamera.com/
If I'm not mistaken, the product links on that website are also dynamically generated html pages, here's a sample:
http://rafcamera.com/novar-anastigma...5cm-p-566.html
This great lightbox contrib is working on that website.
@Crystal: Look at the source. Looks like Zen Cart to me :wink2:
I think they are just remapping using SEO URL's and substituting html instead of php extension (hides the language used to output the html).
@Izon: Just a hunch but maybe some other JavaScript you are loading is conflicting? Maybe temporarily disable the other scripts to test.
That is a nice looking highly customized site. If you can I suggest communicating with the original developer for ideas.
Woody
The other two loaded scripts:
I'm not familiar with kuzmenu.Code:<script type="text/javascript" src="js/kuzmenu.js"></script>
<script type="text/javascript" src="js/rollovers.js"></script
See here:
http://pdplay.com/pint-size_play_rsm-1.html
You have a mouseover enabled on the additional image (the drawing thrumbnail) which maybe conflicting with Lightbox function. Disable the mouseover on that image to test for conflict. (easiest to test by temporarily disabling rollover script).
Woody
Woody,
Thanks for your efforts. I wish I could go back to the original developers but that's not an option. I'm not familiar with kuzmenu either and could not find anything online.
I guess it could be a javascript conflict, but I would expect to see some sort of error message.
The other reason I question this is that, when I look at the source code, for the image popup, I see
I would expect to see something similar to thisCode:<a href="images/RSM-1-7501.jpg" target="_blank">(Larger image)</a>
which is from the source of a working installation.Code:<!-- begin lightbox v1.1 aclarke 2006-09-06 -->
<script language="javascript" type="text/javascript"><!--
document.write('<a href="images/scl/novar-75mm.jpg?zenid=e12b280870a919e950bf31c29c2152e6" rel="lightbox[gallery]" title="Novar Anastigmat lens 3.5/7.5cm"><img src="images/scl/novar-75mm.jpg" alt="Novar Anastigmat lens 3.5/7.5cm" title=" Novar Anastigmat lens 3.5/7.5cm " width="133" height="120" /><br /><span class="imgLink">larger image</span></a>');
//--></script>
<!-- end lightbox v1.1 aclarke 2006-09-06 -->
If it were a javascript conflict, wouldn't the code still get output correctly to the browser, then probably throw an error?
Given the above, I would think there is some problem with my install?
Again, I really appreciate your time and effort.
Just tossing out ideas:
I would still temporarily disable the rollover and kazmenu one at a time to see if there is any conflict.
And you sure you have:
Correctly edited Zen Cart core files to include Lightbox code:
includes/templates/classic/templates/tpl_modules_main_product_image.php
and
includes/modules/classic/additional_images.php
And uploaded
includes/modules/pages/product_info/jscript_lightbox.php
includes/templates/template_default/jscript/lightbox_effects.js
And uploaded the lightbox gifs to
includes/templates/template_default/images/lightbox/
To test maybe temporarily remove:
includes/functions/extra_functions/zen_image_lightbox_IH2_url.php
Is there a compatibility issue with SEO URL's? Since I have not employed SEO URL's I cannot help. Hopefully someone whom has both Lightbox and SEO URL's installed can post to confirm they work together. Or maybe some SEO URL mod hints in this thread?
Good luck,
Woody
This sounds like the meat of the problem. I have not edited these files.
When I downloaded the contribution and decompressed it, I found a readme.txt file with 3 simple instructions, none of which mentions editing these files. Did I miss other instructions in this download?
I'll try looking back through this thread and see if I can find those instructions.
Thanks again for your help.
Feeling like an idiot here:
What core files need to be edited to include lightbox code?
You are correct. The readme is over simplified and does not include the code snippets which were merged into the core Zen Cart files provided in the mod package. (Unfortunately the developer assumes you will on your own compare the provided files with your installed versions. But many new to Zen Cart just blindly upload. This is why it is is best practice for developers to document such code snippets in the mod readme...but some mod developers are in just too much of a rush or just forget or just don't care).
At any rate this mod works with Zen Cart 1.37 but it has NOT been updated for Zen cart 1.37. Compare with the ZC 1.37 core files and you will observe differences in ZC 1.37 version of /includes/modules/additional_images.php that do not show up in the mod version of the same file.
Note the Lightbox 1.3 mod was last updated over six months ago, well before the release of ZC 1.37. Hopefully Alex will take this in consideration with next update.
So I just compared the two core ZC files provided in the Zen Lightbox 1.3 mod distribution with the Zen Cart 1.37 version core files.
My findings:
(1) \includes\templates\YOUR-TEMPLATE-FOLDER\templates\tpl_modules_main_product_image.php
in the mod package is still current with ZC 1.37
(2) But I cannot say the same for:Code:* @version $Id: tpl_modules_main_product_image.php 3208 2006-03-19 16:48:57Z birdbrain $
\includes\modules\YOUR-TEMPLATE-FOLDER\additional_images.php
Latest Zen Cart 1.37 version:
Older IH2 version in Zen Lightbox:Code:* @version $Id: additional_images.php 5369 2006-12-23 10:55:52Z drbyte $
(keep in mind that cboylan integrated code from the last version of ImageHandler 2 into the Lightbox version of the file. Last version of IH2 was released in the early days of ZC 1.3x and the IH2 mod is no longer developed by the author).Code:* @version $Id: additional_images.php,v 1.3 2006/05/01 12:20:31 tim Exp $
Comparing this file I noted one specific line is for Lightbox and all the other changes are for IH2.
In the latest ZC 1.37 version of the file multiple instances of the ereg_replace() function has been replaced by str_replace() function.
For example, the following:
Was changed in Zen Cart 1.37 to :PHP Code:
$products_image_base = ereg_replace($products_image_extension . '$', '', $products_image);
If you want to understand why see:PHP Code:
$products_image_base = str_replace($products_image_extension, '', $products_image);
See http://us2.php.net/ereg_replace
http://us2.php.net/str_replace
So for this specific file if you don't use IH2 (and it appears you don't) it might be best to just open a copy of the default ZC 1.37 core version (if you have no other edits) and edit the one line difference yourself and then upload.
For the future I think it best if the lightbox mod was released in two separate versions, one for base Zen Cart and another for IH2 (just include alternative files in the same package but in different option directories, and also document the different code snippets in readme).
Also I am uncertain if non-IH2 users need to upload
includes/functions/extra_functions/zen_image_lightbox_IH2_url.php
It appears it is only needed for IH2 installs but I myself use IH2 so I have file uploaded.
I suspect some of this stuff may have been previously documented further back in this thread. Search on cboylan for more info.
As a reminder for all...
I'm not saying that uploading those files is your current issue (and it is likely not) but any time you install a mod you should not overwrite core files or upload overrides, without first checking if those files provided in the mod match your Zen Cart version. That applies to Lightbox also.
And before overwriting you should check to see if you will be overwriting files you have previously edited/customized.
Install a compare/merge tool (e.g. WinMerge or BeyondCompare) to compare the mod files with the Zen Cart core versions and also compare with the back ups of your versions (before you uploaded the mod versions).
Woody
Hi
can some one direct me to where i can find instruction on how to put more than one picture,
i install the zen lightbox and it working perfect
am also using zen 1.37
i only know it can do it whan i saw one of my pic say on top next and 1/2 but i dontknow how it heppen , and i like to post more pics for same product
Ty
Motti,
Find the Images folder where your product images are, and add images to it as follows:
If your main product image is productA.jpg , then additional images can be
productA_01.jpg
productA_02.jpg
etc...
As a matter of fact, you put anything you want after the underscore.
If you already have an underscore in the image name, then...., oh nooooo, it's kryptonite.
Make sure you have additional images turned ON in admin.
I was hoping for a better solution to the large image pop-up and then I ran into the Zen Lightbox!!
Beautiful thing.
It seems to work in unison with IH2 and haven't seen any problems there.
I also have the CSS horizontal drop down menu.
Question:
Regardless of whether it's an IH2 zoom image being displayed, or the faded out background with lightbox, the menu text behind shines right thru!!
Before I go off to kill another day experimenting with the code, does anyone know why this might be the case and how to change it??
Thanks!
[FONT=Times New Roman]Sorry but I can’t find where is the additional images in my admin, I read line by line in my configuration/images among other places.[/FONT]

[FONT=Times New Roman]Thank you any way, I keep my eye on this thread [/FONT]
[FONT=Times New Roman][/FONT]
[FONT=Times New Roman]Thank You [/FONT]
motti,
do you have sm, med and lrg images for all of your product images or are you uploading one large main image for a product and letting the browser resize based on the image size settings in the admin? (no wrong answer here....just trying to troubleshoot)
[FONT=Times New Roman]Hi barco [/FONT]
[FONT=Times New Roman][/FONT]
[FONT=Times New Roman]I did not resize my pictures.[/FONT]

[FONT=Times New Roman]If you can direct me to a link of some one that working well, I think I may be able to figure understand it better..[/FONT]
[FONT=Times New Roman][/FONT]
[FONT=Times New Roman]Thank you again[/FONT]
do me a favor......humor me......remove the _lrg from the additional image and try it......if it still doesn't work then move the renamed additional image to the same folder as the main product image and lets see what we get.....this problem is related to a naming/location issue......I think (never commit to a theory...LOL)
Location ?:huh:
Both pictures are in /public_html/store/images/
There are large and medium file directories under the image folder.
[FONT=Times New Roman]Hi and Thank You for your reply[/FONT]
[FONT=Times New Roman][/FONT]
[FONT=Times New Roman]So is that mean I need to put the main pic in large and the other or others in medium ?[/FONT]
[FONT=Times New Roman][/FONT]
[FONT=Times New Roman]Sorry but I did first ask if there is any thread on step by step for that mod, in my download the was nothing and I am kinda new to web in general[/FONT]

[FONT=Times New Roman][/FONT]
[FONT=Times New Roman]Thank you very much you been a big help for me [/FONT]
It should help you get your images in the right place and right size. Once they are in the right place and right size, lightbox should work with no problem.
Motti,
Shalom!
Lightbox works really well for me in unison with IH2.
I maintain only one size of images (LARGE), and keep them in the main /images folder. The folder that _LRG and _MED are in, but NOT _LRG or _MED.
Lightbox finds them just fine and they display at whatever size they happen to be. It really works great.
To have additional images for Photo.jpg for example:
Photo_01.jpg
Photo_02.jpg
etc...
Simply create the images, and move them into the /images folder.
Then when you define the product in admin>categories>products
click the browse button, point to the photo in the /image folder that you want to be the main image, and lightbox will do the rest.
I assume it does so based on the part of the name to the left of the underscore.
I can't imagine this being any clearer.
IH2 can come with its fair share of problems. I would really look into learning how to use your own optimized images. I know lots of people love IH2 and thats cool, but its good to learn to do it yourself. I use IH2 now but in my current builds, I am going to do without in the future I think.
Just a word of caution to look into it for yourself, many people love IH2, so don't get me wrong.
[FONT=Times New Roman]Shalom to you to Zin[/FONT]
[FONT=Times New Roman][/FONT]
[FONT=Times New Roman]Your input are very clear [/FONT]
[FONT=Times New Roman]And I am not complaining don’t get me wrong, just that’ I picked up think abut it kind of on the move , I didn’t even know that I could use addition picture until I saw on one of my picture Next, and most that responded, assuming you a minimum a web programmer ( lol) :smile: [/FONT]
[FONT=Times New Roman]Ty for “step by step” , that’s what us the beginner need [/FONT]
[FONT=Times New Roman]I am not asking to be told step by step on any issue, but it will be nice if the referee me to a link with it like goodspeed did .[/FONT]
[FONT=Times New Roman][/FONT]
[FONT=Times New Roman]Any way after reading and reading your Thread few time I give it another try [/FONT]
[FONT=Times New Roman]Trying what you say did not work for me, but I made it work base on your Thread Thank You[/FONT]

[FONT=Times New Roman]This is how it work for me ( for other to read)[/FONT]
[FONT=Times New Roman][/FONT]
[FONT=Times New Roman]My main picture called UglyGlove.jpg the 2nd picture called UglyGlove_00_LRG.jpg[/FONT]
[FONT=Times New Roman][/FONT]
[FONT=Times New Roman]I insert UglyGlove.jpg from Admin/Catalog/Product than I named and transfer the UglyGlove_00_LRG.jpg thru my FTF to the main image category ( not to the large folder) and wualla it work.:clap: [/FONT]

[FONT=Times New Roman]Me again[/FONT]
[FONT=Times New Roman][/FONT]
[FONT=Times New Roman]While posting it I I delete one picture I thought was not needed after carefully and test it in many ways the only way I am able to have it work is having total of 3 pictures to show 2 on my site and this is the order[/FONT]
[FONT=Times New Roman][/FONT]
[FONT=Times New Roman]In image folder UglyGlove.jpg via admin [/FONT]
[FONT=Times New Roman]In Image folder UglyGlove_00.jpg via FTF[/FONT]

[FONT=Times New Roman]If I want to show 3 pictures for 200 items, that mean 600 pictures [/FONT]
[FONT=Times New Roman][/FONT]
[FONT=Times New Roman]It could be something wrong with my installation or setting, never mind abut me I will figure it out I am on the right direction now thanks to all of you[/FONT]
[FONT=Times New Roman][/FONT]
[FONT=Times New Roman]Thank You [/FONT]
I have installed the mod according to your instructions, but I am not getting any lightbox images in my product info screen. I am using version 1.3.6. Here's a link to my site

IH2=ImageHandler 2 will solve this for you. Visit the IH2 support thread to learn more (see the sticky i the "All Other Contributions" support forum board).
BTW, please avoid applying font style to your full posts as it makes difficult to reply. Best to use type styling only to highlight specific text in your posts (e.g. bold, color red, etc) but not apply to full body of post.
Thanks,
Woody
Motti and Zinfandel - you guys can see the lightbox on my site? Wonder why I can't see it?? I use IE7, so that's not the problem. Maybe the changes haven't propogated on my server...

There are 48 pages of posts...can someone tell me what page to read if its possible to add more then one image to the lightbox? The Zen Cart I am working on, is for Fly Fishing Rods and the rodmaker (my dad) has more then one shot of each rod. Any assistance is appreciated!
Thanks!
Jewls
Ok I followed these directions, added a total of 5 images (it was already set to 3) and made sure that additional images was set to true (or 1) in the edit layout.
Now my problem is, when I go back to upload the product images, there is no place to upload the additional images? Only the original browse area with the photo that is already there.
I tried uploading the other images there, but it overwrote the original image even after I marked do not overwrite.
Can anyone assist me?
Thanks!
Jewls
If I read you correct you trying uploading the addition from your admin, if so it is not the right place
The addition image should be upload from FTF, and if you follow Zin instruction, and it not working, try it the way I did, it work for me. Instruction
Good Luck
Yes Motti is correct you ftp the additional images to the server. There is no tool in the admin for adding the additional images......though it would be nice to have one wouldn't it.........hmmmm
Hi I test and it work for me for 1 additional image, I did not try yet to do more, as I am working on my site now
This is how it work for me
picture.jpg from admin
In /public_html/your_store/images/ picture_00.jpg From FTF
In /public_html/your_store/images/large/ picture _00_LRG.jpg from FTF
And I assume for your next pictures you do it like this
In /public_html/your_store/images/ picture_01.jpg From FTF
In /public_html/your_store/images/large/ picture _01_LRG.jpg from FTF
If it doesn’t work double check in your FTF folder you got your picture set like that
In image you should have 2 pictures picture.jpg & picture_00.jpg
in large one picture picture _00_LRG.
[FONT=Times New Roman]When I say FTFi mean web file transfer program (sorry for my English) , I use filezila for Transferring file aka drag and drop file from my computer to the server , I just don’t get the protocol word , lol[/FONT]
Protocol just means a way of doing something.
I guess I am still totally lost. I'm not sure where the other images go so they'll show up in the lightbox. The first image is uploaded while you're writing the description of the product your selling. Do I just upload them to another folder via the FTP and they'll automatically show up on the lightbox?
[FONT=Verdana]You say"[/FONT]
[FONT=Verdana]Do I just upload them to another folder via the FTP and they'll automatically show up on the lightbox? "[/FONT]
[FONT=Verdana][/FONT]
[FONT=Verdana]Yes only the addition pictures not the one you already add thru your admin[/FONT]
[FONT=Verdana]If it doesn’t work, verify your FTF folder and see how the are listed as I state above, [/FONT]
[FONT=Verdana]Look my sample http://www.tiledepot.us/store/index....products_id=37[/FONT]
[FONT=Verdana][/FONT]
Small images go in the images folder
_MED images go in the medium folder (used on product info page)
_LRG images go in the large folder (used for popup/lightbox)
for each additional image you will need to create a small version and a large version (medium images are not used with additional images), these additional images will go in the same directories as the product images......
PRODUCT IMAGES:
pic.jpg (small version) goes into images folder
pic_MED.jpg (medium) version goes into medium folder
pic_LRG.jpg (large) goes into large folder
PRODUCT ADDITIONAL IMAGES:
pic_01.jpg (small) goes into the images folder
pic_01_LRG.jpg (large) goes into large folder
Hope this helps........thats why I use Image Handler 2
[FONT=Verdana]Ohh ok so this is what I keep see IH2 now I get it :smile: [/FONT]
[FONT=Verdana][/FONT]
[FONT=Verdana]I download it just to make sure I don’t get myself in truble AGAIN [/FONT]
[FONT=Verdana][/FONT]
[FONT=Verdana]“I updated the IH 2.0 specialy for 1.3.5. I removed the html_output.php and duplicate images. So this ZIP file is 1.3.5 ready. “ [/FONT]
[FONT=Verdana][/FONT]
[FONT=Verdana]Is that will work with 1.37 ?[/FONT]
[FONT=Verdana][/FONT]
[FONT=Verdana]Ty [/FONT]
with image handler you'll only need one image.....the large one.....and image handler will create the med and small versions..... the latest version of image handler works fine with 1.3.7......at least it has for me.......there have been some issues with image handler and lightbox but I have not experience these issues.....just lucky I guess or maybe its cause I read everything about a mod before I install it that way I know what to expect......In my case I loaded IH2 and made sure everything worked before I loaded lightbox. I also made sure that the image hover popup for IH2 was turned off as that seems to be an issue with lightbox, but I didn't need it anyway......
Hi barco
I have few Questions if you please can answer me before I install it
I will have a new store replacing this one, ( had lots of issue and it all new now)
You saying to first install the IH2 and after the lightbox?
“image hover popup for IH2 was turned off” from where will I do that ?
and should I have all my pictures in 1 size and what size are recommended ?
I saw your site very impressing
Ty
After you install IH2 in admin>configuration>images there controls for IH2 are there. You can make the large image whatever works for you but optimize them for the smallest file size and try not to make them to huge.......I hate to scroll.....with lightbox installed I try not to let the image I upload be bigger than 600px wide or 485px tall.....after that it depends on the product being shown....smaller is always better.....use your best judgement
[FONT=Times New Roman]Hi Barco[/FONT]
[FONT=Times New Roman][/FONT]
[FONT=Times New Roman]I took your advice and I did not install the lightbox yet, not until I figure out the IH2[/FONT]
[FONT=Times New Roman][/FONT]
[FONT=Times New Roman]I am trying to change the setting for bit larger for my S M L pictures, it is set in my admin /tools default size = 70x80 Medium= 88x100 Large=141x160[/FONT]
[FONT=Times New Roman]I look in configuration, and play around in tools, but could not find a way to change the sizes[/FONT]
[FONT=Times New Roman]Any idea?[/FONT]
[FONT=Times New Roman]I think I don’t have it install completely perfect, I can’t see the icon pictures in my admin, only when I click on preview I see the pop up picture, [/FONT]
[FONT=Times New Roman]Should I re install it?[/FONT]
[FONT=Times New Roman][/FONT]
[FONT=Times New Roman]Ty [/FONT]
use the settings in admin>configuration>images......there should be settings for image handler there. Hint: when setting image sizes set either the width or height but not both.....unless you are sure that EVERY image you upload will have the same ratio width to height.....it easier to set on or the other and set the other to ZERO and let image handler work out the dimensions.......
Cool , i just got my new site back runnig so i will install it tomorow , and as you say i will read more abut it before installing it.
Thank you for your help
This module is a beautiful thang! I have it installed on 2 sites running 1.3.6 in conjunction with IH2 and both are running smoothly.
The only comment I have is that occasionally when I click on an image, it will open in it's own full-page new window instead of the lightbox. If I then go back a page and click on the same image it will activate the lightbox. Again, this happens only occasionally. I haven't seen mention of this after perusing this thread and I'm wondering if others are experiencing this issue and if a cause/resolution has been found.
Thanks Alex for this great mod and Woody, Barco & others for recent support.
Could be one of the scripts has not fully loaded when you initially clicked. The mod utilizes four .js files, three of which are relatively large (appx 100KB total). Issue is more prevalent on highly congested/low bandwidth network connections, slower webhosts and slower clients.
Woody
After reading your comments, I do have the following concern: When they click on images, are dial-up (and equivalent) clients seeing images open in a new window instead of the lightbox because of the factors you mention? If so, I might want to re-consider this mod. The original image pop-up window seems to work beautifully cross-browser and no-matter the connection speed.
Personally, of my two sites, (listed below) this issue is occurring on BeadedLily but not the other, despite the fact that they are both running on the same host, same adsl etc. (PittiVintage is, however, an empty shell in comparison in terms of girth as it is being built and basically has no product.)
Webhost-wise I'm doing well with Camelot and my local adsl is pretty speedy. Maybe I should reload the .js files in the BeadedLily install?
Woody,
Sorry for the very late reply to your last assistance to my issues, I was pulled away from this project for several days and unable to look into it further.
I really appreciate the time you invest in assisting others with a contribution that is not even yours. Says a lot about you.
I have resolved my problem, though it took some head scratching. After following your instructions carefully, I still could not get it to work. Turns out that some of the customization done by an earlier development team on the core files was not allowing the replacement of the image tag. Had to do with the rollover image for schematics available on some products. I had to go in and make some modifications to correct this.
All is well again in the land of playground equipment.

Once again, many thanks for your assistance.
