I don't know what Protx is, but if it works with Zen normally, then it should work with this mod. When a person uses Guest Checkout, they are still creating an account like normal, except they are not entering a password. All other aspects of checkout are the same. The shipping page and the payment page are the same as if they chose regular checkout. I myself only use PayPal and PayPal's virtual terminal to enter credit cards manually (even though I think PayPal is evil - especially since they are owned by Ebay... but thats a whole other nightmare!). So yes, all of the payment options available through Zen should work with this mod as far as I know. Please, if anyone knows this to be untrue.... speak up!

Checkout Without Account Mod
I just wanted to post and give my thanks for this wonderful mod. I've been waiting for something like this to be created by those here that know what they're doing.
Thank you so very much for this mod, it works great.

Re: My Checkout Without Account Mod
For some reason the COWOA option doesn't show when you click checkout.
Anyone know what files i'm missing? I can't figure it out. I have the split logon and everything, but just the COWOA won't show up

I think you are missing some files. Make sure you have shop/includes/templates/YOUR_TEMPLATE/templates/tpl_no_account_default.php and tpl_modules_no_account.php installed.

You're right, they were missing but installing them has not changed anything. Still a blank page. Boohoo:cry:

They still are not there. The files have not transfered properly. The way you can tell is... when you click on "continue" under Checkout Without Account, the url on the next page in the browser says main_page=FILENAME_NO_ACCOUNT. The reason it says FILENAME_NO_ACCOUNT is because the tpl_no_account_default.php file cannot be found. Once you get the file transfered, the url will say main_page=no_account.

Think I'm going nuts. It just wont change. I'll download the files again and see if that does it?

Re: My Checkout Without Account Mod
I must be doing something very wrong. It cant be that hard.
This is what I'm doing. I am uploading all files as mentioned in the install.txt. But I am taking them from the overwrites folder, rather than from the install folder apart from the two you mentioned. Is the correct way of doing this?

Re: My Checkout Without Account Mod
Hello,
COWOA not working ! , I have gone through the install twice- manually uploaded each file following the directory tree exactly as layed out in the install text, and installed the SQL. patch as instructed. Still no difference. My checkout page is still the same, I am asked to log in or create an account.
I would love to get this mod. working as I think it would help bring my conversion rate up.
I am not new to Zen-Cart, have had my store up for about a year,"ecmauto.com" , everyone here at the forum has been a great help, Thanks.
any input on site is welcome.

Re: My Checkout Without Account Mod
I've corrected a typo in the install.txt file for the COWOA 1.3.7 package. I tried to upload it to the wiki myself, but the wiki says I have to log in to edit. I don't have an account on the wiki, and the link that reads "login / create account" actually has no screen for creating a new account. I guess if you aren't there already, you can't join. Maybe someone can fix this??
Anyway, since I can't post the file on the wiki, I'm attaching it here. If you are installing COWOA on a ZenCart 1.3.7 version (note that this is backleveled), you should use this version of the install.txt file, instead of the one in the posted ZIP file. The one in the posted ZIP file has a confusing typo.

Hello,
Is this mod compatible with Easy Sign Up and Login?
Thx

Re: My Checkout Without Account Mod
Yes, COWOA is ALREADY integrated in ESL. It was also updated to add the features that were missing in the original COWOA script. You can turn it on from the FEC/ESL configuration menu in ADMIN->CONFIGURATION
-
Re: My Checkout Without Account Mod

Re: My Checkout Without Account Mod
FEC and ESL share the same configuration menu.

Re: My Checkout Without Account Mod
whereabouts is the sonfiguratin menu? i checked admin-configuration and I couldn't find ESL

Re: My Checkout Without Account Mod
I have FEC and COWOA installed and running ZC 1.3.8, it seems to be working fine except for the fact that now I can not disable the FEC. I'm trying to turn it off for testing purposes. I set the value to false on Admin>Configuration>Fast and Easy Checkout Configuration but I still keep getting the one page checkout. What could I be doing wrong?
Any ideas will be helpful.
Thanks

Hi Jim,
It looks like you have a different mod installed, not just COWOA, but perhaps that Fast & Easy Checkout or whatever its called.... anyway, you need to go to the board for that mod. I believe one of those mods includes COWOA with it.
I noticed when you click on "checkout" on your site, you are never even asked for your name, address, etc. You are automatically taken to the shipping options. Of course you will receive an error as far as shipping charges are concerned because you don't even have my address. How can you ask USPS to calculate the shipping when you don't have my info????
The COWOA mod by itself does nothing to the regular pages of checkout. The shipping page (with USPS, UPS, etc.) is no different than the one that originally comes with Zen Cart, as well as the rest of the checkout pages. If you are uploading the COWOA mod by itself, you will see that there are no overrides for those checkout pages (unless you install the order steps add-on, which doesn't really do anything but add titles and headers, etc). The only difference between COWOA and the regular Zen checkout is basically one page.... main_page=no_account (aka tpl_no_account_default.php & tpl_modules_no_account.php), which is the same thing as the regular "create an account" page minus the password fields.
So, in conclusion (i talk too much!), you have another mod, not COWOA alone, which is causing your problem. COWOA does not skip asking the customer for their address, etc. but your site seems to do so.

Re: My Checkout Without Account Mod
I should mention that, in my last post, I am only speculating about Jim having FEC or ESL installed and in no way did I mean to imply that either mod causes problems. I've seen those mods work wonderfully for people and they are great. The only reason I haven't tried them myself is simply because I finally have my cart running the way I want it to and I don't want to screw it all up by adding even more mods that I'm sure my cart is sick of. Perhaps in the future I might add them, but I am enjoying the peace and quiet over in my Zen Cart Land lately!!! So anyway, FEC, ESL, COWOA, whatever floats your boat. They are all great!
-
Re: My Checkout Without Account Mod
The error of skipping the login page is not something to do with FEC. You must still be logged in to checkout. COWOA is integrated in the Easy Sign-Up and Login and includes upgrades such as shipping and billing address not being the same.

I have not uploaded this contribution to my website yet, I'll let you know about cart conversion when I have something. The flare shadow is done with tables. I have three colums with five rows. The first two rows are around the breadcrumbs, the rest is on all the template files...

Hi craftzombie,
Thanks for your quick response, you might be right about another mod.
The problem you had is what I am tying to fix.I agree that the shipping error will probably correct itself if I can get it to send me to the shipping info page.
The only other mod I tryed to install was " Disable Registration Form" by IVUM.
This where I learned the difference between a Database Backup and a File Backup. When I could not get COWOA to work I reinstalled my database backup and continued to install DRF,when I could not get that to work I attempted an uninstall and learned I was doing an incorrect backup, Oh well,, Live and learn right. So I had my hosting co. restore my site from a backup of a date prior to installing either mod. and started from scratch with COWOA.
I have compared the file ver. and author of the files listed with the DRF mod. and they match the files on my site. I believe the creator of the DRF mod has changed the files and decided not to list him/herself as the author.I am going to have to go through each file line by line and compare to determine witch file I have installed on my site.Fortunately they did list the changes to the files for a manual install so maybe it won't be so bad.
Thanks to all, Jim

Re: My Checkout Without Account Mod
Just tried the COWOA mod out on my test site www.nps1direct.com/zcf and it works fine using ZenCart v1.38.
After creating an order and going through the whole process, I decided to try again to see what would happen as a repeat customer who used the Checkout without Account step. I found the following problem after filling in the Billing Information page:
"Our system already has a record of that email address - please try logging in with that email address. If you do not use that address any longer you can correct it in the My Account area."
When I click on the link in the "If you have an account with us, you may login at the Login Page." sentence I received the following error:
"Error: Sorry, there is no match for that email address and/or password."
Is there a way to get rid of this so the customer can continue onward?

I just tested it and it worked fine. I used COWOA twice in a row with the same email address and received no errors.
Now if a customer does not use COWOA and then they come back and try to use COWOA with the same email address, then they will get the error. Which is how it is supposed to work. If they are already registered, the cart will prompt them to checkout with their account instead of COWOA.
Once they are registered, thats it. There is no going back to COWOA with the same email address. Not sure why someone who created an account would all of a sudden want to use COWOA.

I have never heard of the "Disable Registration" mod before, otherwise I wouldn't have pointed a finger at FEC or ESL. My bad! (By the way, I've never uttered the words "My bad" before. What is wrong with me?!)
Anyway, I just downloaded Disable Regis. and looked at the files. There are not that many. Why don't you just go through the process of installing that mod, but instead of using the files in that mod, use the files that come with Zen 1.3.8 (or whatever version you are using). That way, your files are back to normal and you can start fresh with COWOA. Sounds better than going through files line by line. Perhaps there is an easier way to do it, but thats the way I do it.

craftzombie,
You where right, there was still several files left over from the DRF mod. I was able to replace most of them with original the zen files, V1.3.7 by the way, there was one file I did not have the original of so I had to try to repair by removing the changes,"tpl_checkout_confirmation_default.php",I used notepad and when I saved it I lost all of it's format, line spacing, ect.so I tried to reformat using the mod file as an example.I am not sure I got it right could this be causing a problem?
After all this my checkout page now gives me three options,
1) Login as a returning customer.
2) Create an account.
3) Pay with pay-pal.
Yee-Haa I'm making progress now.
Trouble is the pay-pal module is not working,it gives me 2 error msg. I have not been able to figure out yet.
I do not have all the original V1.3.7 files as this cart was installed by my site host when I signed up.So do you think upgrading to v1.3.8 would help me here?
How much reconfiguring or reinstalling mod's would be needed ?
I have only a few mod's ,Google analytics,Printable price list, column grid layout an COWOA.A few customs like the header background image, font and style and a couple of e-z pages.
Thanks for all your help.

CraftZombie,
Thanks for clearing that up  . I was testing it with an email account that I registered with the system (before addin the COWOA mod) which gave me the error.
It works great!

Re: My Checkout Without Account Mod
Hello,
Im not getting the Checkout Without Account option in the log in page.
When I try to install COWOA.sql, im getting the following.
1062 Duplicate entry 'Permanent Account Holders Only' for key 2
in:
[INSERT INTO query_builder ( query_id , query_category , query_name , query_description , query_string ) VALUES ( '', 'email,newsletters', 'Permanent Account Holders Only', 'Send email only to permanent account holders ', 'select customers_email_address, customers_firstname, customers_lastname from TABLE_CUSTOMERS where COWOA_account != 1 order by customers_lastname, customers_firstname, customers_email_address');]
If you were entering information, press the BACK button in your browser and re-check the information you had entered to be sure you left no blank fields.
Please help. I really need to get this to work. I have both FEC and ESL installed as well.
Thx

Re: My Checkout Without Account Mod
Is there a way to change the flow of pages so that once the customer clicks on the "Go to Checkout" button on the Shopping Cart page, the next page they see is the Billing information?
Using FireFox Firebug I edited the html code on the shopping cart page for the button from
index.php?main_page=checkout_shipping
to
index.php?main_page=no_account
and tried it out. It did what I wanted which is skip the Login page (with the COWOA mod installed of course) and go right to the Billing Information page. With the Checkout without Account option in the login page most people aren't going to register, so why not get rid of an extra click.
My question is what file contains the lines needed to change this?
I thought maybe the 4th line in the includes/templates/template_default/templates/tpl_checkout_shipping_default.php file
<?php echo zen_draw_form('checkout_address', zen_href_link(FILENAME_CHECKOUT_SHIPPING, '', 'SSL')) . zen_draw_hidden_field('action', 'process'); ?>
or the line in tpl_shopping_cart_default.php file:
<!--bof shopping cart buttons-->
<div class="buttonRow forward"><?php echo '<a href="' . zen_href_link(FILENAME_CHECKOUT_SHIPPING, '', 'SSL') . '">' . zen_image_button(BUTTON_IMAGE_CHECKOUT, BUTTON_CHECKOUT_ALT) . '</a>'; ?></div>
<div class="buttonRow back"><?php echo zen_back_link() . zen_image_button(BUTTON_IMAGE_CONTINUE_SHOPPING, BUTTON_CONTINUE_SHOPPING_ALT) .
but I'm not sure what to change it to.

The sql does that because it is already installed. I believe ESL already contains COWOA and you do not need to install COWOA separately. I don't know much about ESL or FEC, just bits and pieces that I've picked up here and there. If you are going to use COWOA in conjunction with ESL (I think thats the one with COWOA in it), then you do not need to install COWOA on your own. You might not be seeing COWOA on the log in page if you tried to install COWOA after installing ESL. You might have overwritten files (???). Try re-installing whichever mod already contains COWOA (you shouldn't have to re-install the sql file). Also, I think those mods have switches in your admin to turn things off and on, unlike COWOA which has no switches, so make sure you check those after installing as well.

change:
Code:
<!--bof shopping cart buttons-->
<div class="buttonRow forward"><?php echo '<a href="' . zen_href_link(FILENAME_CHECKOUT_SHIPPING, '', 'SSL') . '">' . zen_image_button(BUTTON_IMAGE_CHECKOUT, BUTTON_CHECKOUT_ALT) . '</a>'; ?></div>

<div class="buttonRow back"><?php echo zen_back_link() . zen_image_button(BUTTON_IMAGE_CONTINUE_SHOPPING, BUTTON_CONTINUE_SHOPPING_ALT) .
basically just changing FILENAME_CHECKOUT_SHIPPING to FILENAME_NO_ACCOUNT.
Do some test orders after you've made the change to make sure everything is working properly. Check in your admin after too.

It doesn't create a database. It adds to your already existing Zen Cart database by altering/adding info to the customer tables and order tables, etc.

When somebody order without an account, is it by default that it records that buyer as new customer in admin everytime he/she orders? I made two dummy orders and it recorded me twice as new customer?

Re: My Checkout Without Account Mod
YeHa,COWOA is finally working.
I discoverd the reason it wasn't working like it should is because I was not using the overrides system correctly. But with help from everyone here at the forum I was able to figure out what I was doing wrong and correct it.
However I had to copy 2 files into another directory to get it to work .
On the billing info page it was looking for the "tpl_no_account_default.php" file in the "templates/template_default/templates" Dir. Once I made a copy of that file and moved it there it then was looking for "tpl_modules_no_account.php" in the same Dir. So I made a copy of that file and moved it there and COWOA worked.
Those 2 files where installed in the correct folder as described in the install but it seems it is not looking for them there. Can anybody tell me why ? And how do I correct it ?
Thank, Jim

Well, I am not sure exactly how much you understand the template system, so I cannot be sure what happened. By default, Zen will go to template_default and the regular Zen folders to look for the file. If you are using your own template, it will take the file from your template folders instead. It doesn't make a mistake on that part. We make mistakes my misspelling folders or our ftp program sometimes doesn't transfer files properly.
For anyone who is still new and is not sure about overrides & templates....
As an example.... the name of my template is "orange". Don't know why... its not orange! I just picked a random name.
Any area in Zen where I am going to make changes to a file, I....
1. create a new folder
2. change the name of that new folder to orange
3. place updated file into that folder
So, say I am editing includes/modules/sideboxes/information.php
I make my changes to the file, but instead of uploading it back to includes/modules/sideboxes/, I create a new folder and place the file in it:
includes/modules/sideboxes/orange/information.php
You can do this in most places, but not all of them. The override system is not available for admin files and for some catalog files. Any directory that contains a subdirectory named "classic" can be overridden. (wiki) (tutorial)

Re: My Checkout Without Account Mod
COWOA seems to be working on my site; but I just noticed something bizarre. I wanted to change the wording on the login page, so I went to the Developers' Toolkit and searched for the string "Welcome, please sign in." The toolkit brought up 2 copies of the file:
zencart/includes/includes/languages/english/LifeRing/login.php
zencart/includes/languages/english/LifeRing/login.php
Um, is this a problem? It looks like FileZilla didn't put the files up correctly when I uploaded COWOA. Is this something I need to fix??
Puzzled,

zencart/includes/includes/languages/english/LifeRing/login.php
zencart/includes/languages/english/LifeRing/login.php
Um, is this a problem? It looks like FileZilla didn't put the files up correctly when I uploaded COWOA. Is this something I need to fix??
Puzzled,
The correct file to edit is:
zencart/includes/languages/english/LifeRing/login.php
zencart/includes/includes is incorrect. There is no additional includes folder inside of the includes folder. You can delete that folder, but you should probably make sure all of the files have been uploaded correctly so that the mod works properly. I personally don't rely on FTP programs to do these things correctly. I do use FileZilla, but if there are not a billion files, I do each folder one by one, making sure it is in fact going into the correct place. Anal retentive? Probably. Do I care? Nope!

Re: My Checkout Without Account Mod
Hey, if we weren't anal retentive we wouldn't be doing this at all! That's sort of what I thought, it just shook me when I realized I had an extra folder... Thanks for confirming, and I will in fact make sure I have the COWOA stuff in the right place before deleting that unnecessary directory!

craftzombie,
Thanks for you reply, Well I gues I am learning the template system much like I did or maybe still am learning the override system.
Here is the short story,
1st, I created a folder called "custom" next to every folder called "classic"
2nd, I copied every file in the "classic" folder to the "custom" folder, since I did not want the overall look to change.
3rd, I uploaded all the files from the COWOA mod as instructed in the install into there respective "custom" folders following the directory tree structure as outlined.
4th, I installed the sql. patch.
5th, I modified the "template_info.php" file and placed it into "includes/template/custom"
I am able to choose the custom template from the admin no trouble and everything else seems look and run normal, except when I get to the billing info page this is the error msg. I get "Warning: require(includes/templates/template_default/templates/tpl_no_account_default.php) [function.require]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/ecmauto/public_html/store/includes/templates/template_default/common/tpl_main_page.php on line 119

If I place these two files in the "templates/template_default/templates" dir. the mod works correctly.
I have double checked spelling and placement. Any idea's ?
Thanks, Jim

The only thing I can think of is that the tpl_no_account_default.php and tpl_modules_no_account.php failed to upload properly to includes/templates/custom/templates. Sometimes FTP programs just don't wanna transfer files. I've had instances where I was sure certain files were transferred and when I checked again, sure enough they were not there. Its no problem to keep them in template_default/templates though.

craftzombie,
Hi, well I am ready to give up, It works let it alone.
I reloaded all COWOA files , no help.
I went through the template dir. structure, found a few mistakes,no help.
I checked all COWOA files for dup's , found several where they shouldn't be,no help.
Still will not work without relocating those two files. I did notice something that I am not sure is correct, in order to cowoa you must go to the shopping cart page 1st, then hit checkout.
I you go to chekouit 1st you are taken to the standard login/create account page.
I wanted to fix this in order to make upgrade easier, but as much time as I sent trying to fix this I probably could have upgraded by now. Live and learn right.
Thanks for all your help, Jim

https://ecmauto.com
You are taken to the standard login/create account page first, ANYTIME you click on checkout, whether you are on the shopping cart page or any other page and whether you are using COWOA or not.
COWOA does not begin until the customer clicks on the the "continue" (or whatever it says) button in the guest checkout section, which appears on the login page only when there are items in the cart.
If you are shopping and decide to click on checkout without going to the shopping cart page first, it should not act any different than when you do go to the shopping cart page first. Either way will take you to main_page=login first and then from there, the customer can choose what to do.
Wow, that was a brain-melter......
Now, having said all that, I took a look at your shop and the thing is... you have edited some code and that is why it is doing that. If you look behind the scenes at your code.... the link for the checkout button in your shopping cart goes to
main_page=no_account, but the checkout link on the top of your page goes to main_page=checkout_shipping (which is the correct way) (and will switch you to the login page automatically if you are not logged in or are new).
I suspect that you did this:
postcount=439, which you do not want to do unless you want to remove logging in completely from your shop. If you want to keep login available to your customers, you need to do what it says in that post... in reverse!

craftzombie, Hi
You where right, the code was changed. sorry I did not remember doing that. My wife calls that CRS "can't remember *!%$#".
I changed it back and now I am not given the cowoa option, weather I go to shopping cart 1st or not and I did check it with something in cart.
It looks like the standard login/create account page. The page that the screen shots of cowoa show does not appear.
This is getting complicated. New thought, now that I have a better understanding of the override system perhaps I should go ahead and upgrade to 1.3.8 witch would replace all the standard zen files correcting any other code I may have changed (and don't remember) then reinstall the few mods I have the correct way.
What do ya think ?
Thanks, jim

Re: My Checkout Without Account Mod
Anyone know how/if there is a way to put the referral options in with this mod? I have the site referral for those who create an account but it would be awesome if those who do not create an account could tell me who/where they were referred.
Also, the comments in my orders.php says fatal error, and refers to line 804 anyone have that problem? It has to do with the comments.
Great mod by-the-way!

WinMerge is your friend. I have both running. I also have other things merged, so it's not so simple for me to list what's different just for this.

Re: My Checkout Without Account Mod
Hi,
Question regarding the override system, In the COWOA mod dir. tree I see an "overrides-writes" dir listed under the same parrent dir. as the "includes" dir.
I assume these are the files to override. However I do not have this dir. in my store, I do have 2 "overrides" folders. 1) "includes/auto_loaders/overrides" and 2) "includes/init_includes/overrides".The question is do I need to upload the files under the "overrides-writes" folder from the mod into one of these dir. ? And if so , witch one? or is it telling me to upload the entire "overrides-writes" dir to my parrent dir. ?
Thank You, Jim

Re: My Checkout Without Account Mod
Just ignore the title of the folder and upload the things inside it. Make sure to also upload the includes folder which is in the same directory as the folder in question. Change all template instances inside everything.

I'm sorry Steve, I must be dense as a brick, I still don't follow you.
Here in all the place the "overrides" folder appears in my dir. tree.
1) store/admin/includes/auto_loaders/overrides
2) store/admin/includes/init_includes/overrides
3) store/includes/auto_loaders/overrides
4) store/includes/init_icludees/overrides
Don't the files to be overridden need to be placed in a override folder ?
Thanks,Jim

Re: My Checkout Without Account Mod
Its ok, its my fault. I'll try explain better.
It doesn't matter where you have folders called "overides". Try and forget about them.
In the mod, there are two folders, includes and overrides-writes.
Everything in includes are totally new files. Everything in overrides-writes either overwrites files or overides them using the template system.
First, upload the includes folder to your root directory, like you would with any other mod installation.
Then, inside overrides-writes, there are two folders, includes and admin.
Upload includes to your root directory, exactly the same way as you did before. Then, upload admin to your root directory.
That's it.

There are readme.txt and install.txt files that explain it in detail. Read them next time it will save you some headaches.

I just removed the dead link to 1.3.7 from the Wiki. The 1.3.8 version of the mod will not work with Zen Cart 1.3.7., so it looks like those who want to use this mod will have to upgrade to 1.3.8.
The other option for 1.3.7 users is to go through the manual instructions and add your code one at a time. This is actually how I upgraded the mod for use with 1.3.8. The COWOA code is the same for 1.3.7 and 1.3.8, its just that the 1.3.8 files have things added to them that came with the original Zen 1.3.8 download, which won't work with 1.3.7, so you can't just upload 1.3.8 files over the 1.3.7 files. Hope that made sense!
Sometimes I keep the zip files of older mod versions, but I just checked and I don't have it for this mod. I did some spring cleaning and see what happens!?!? I guess I should've stayed a pack rat!

Re: My Checkout Without Account Mod
Thanks man for the great module. I have lost lot of sales because of that registration requirements.
I have version 1.3.6. I know the module is available for download only for 1.3.8. Do you think the manual changes you mentioned just now would work for 1.3.6. Is there a link or page with the list of those manual changes.
Thanks

I can't say for sure, but I think they would work for 1.3.6. The mod creator did mention in the readme that there were people who were successfully using the mod with 1.3.6. I believe all the code is in overrides-writes.txt in the download. I would just make a back up copy of all the files that are going to be edited and then follow the instructions in the overrides-writes.txt file. That is the same thing I did in order to use this mod with 1.3.8. That is why I LOVE it when a mod creator provides all the code, showing all of the changes that were made. It makes it really easy to merge two mods together that are using the same files, or to upgrade when there is no longer any support from the mod author.

If you "view source" on your login page, there is no cowoa code there. I think that you are not uploading the files correctly. The only thing that can be done, aside from me actually installing it for you, is for you to try again. I just think, based on some of your other posts, that you aren't up to par yet on the override system.

Re: My Checkout Without Account Mod
I really want to install this but after losing a whole site last week and starting from scratch i'm not sure.
It's the sql patch i'm more worried about as i really don't want to go into the MySQL section of my control panel and try and remove or alter anything. Backing up and replacing old files isn't a problem.
So a quick question....If i try installing this and something goes wrong or i decide i would rather not use it then how easy is it to uninstall ( imagine i am a novice user )
I already have a full MySQL backup and a full site backup as well as all the site files downloaded onto my desktop.
I would love to install this but like i said i first want to know how easy it is to uninstall ?

I think the SQL patch is the least to worry about. Most of them are just adding tables to the database that may or may not be used if you decide to go ahead and use the mod. Its the files themselves that I think are more important to replace if you decide not to use a mod.
There isn't much SQL code for this mod. I do not know how to uninstall it the easy way through the admin. I use a ton of mods and out of all of them, only one of them came with an uninstall.sql file. I think if it was absolutely necessary to remove the code, the mod authors would've provided an uninstall file. (???)
Anyway, your shop shouldn't be all messed up should you decide not to use COWOA. Especially since you backed up your database. You can leave the SQL info in there and it won't hurt anything.

There is a difference between Zen 1.3.7 and 1.3.8.... so in order for you to use COWOA, you have to use the COWOA download for 1.3.7. Since that link is now dead, you either downloaded it before it was dead.... or you are using COWOA 1.3.8, which will not work correctly with 1.3.7.
I just added COWOA to someones 1.3.7 cart for them manually. I will try to copy the files and put together a new download for those using Zen 1.3.7.

I honestly can't say for sure because I do not use Google Checkout. I do use regular PayPal on my site and COWOA works fine. I am thinking that COWOA should work with any payment module because COWOA really works almost like regular checkout. The only difference between COWOA and regular checkout is that the information is being entered onto an alternate page without passwords and the email address is able to be used over and over again. This shouldn't cause problems when it comes to making the payment, but as I said, I do not know for sure. If you try it and it doesn't work out, you could just remove the COWOA option from your tpl_login_default.php file and go back to the regular Zen.

Re: COWOA for 1.3.7
I helped someone do a manual install on 1.3.7 today, so I figured I would re-create the download that apparently wasn't available anymore. To be sure everything was okay, I installed a shiny new version of Zen 1.3.7 on my test site and then installed the 1.3.7 version of this mod. I tested it to the point where I don't want to look at another Zen Cart for a few days or I'll puke. It worked beautifully with no problems and there were also no errors present in the admin. I have made the download available on the wiki page. As always.. back up back up back up back up your files before attempting. I had to revert back to some saved files today and thank god that person was smart enough to back up his files before he let me touch them.

I tested the cowoa and it works fine like you said. Then I ran into the problem you are talking about when I tried to create an account. (So thats me there that you can delete!)
As far as creating an account.... no changes are made to the create account page when installing the cowoa mod. Edits are made to the login page and an alternate page entitled "no_account" is where customers enter their info. You only experienced this problem immediately after installing this mod? Do you have anything else installed that could affect the create account page? You have the validation code mod installed, but I am unfamiliar with it. I have no idea how to help you. I have never run into this problem in conjunction with cowoa and have installed this mod a ton of times. There is no reason why this mod would cause the problem you are having (at least none that I know of).
I think, way back when I first started with Zen Cart, that I had your problem once (this was before COWOA was around). I was making changes to my includes/templates/your_template/templates/tpl_modules_create_account.php file. I couldn't figure it out, so I installed a fresh copy of that file and the problem disappeared. Try making a back-up of your file and then install a fresh copy and see what happens. I can see that your create account page looks a little different than the norm. For instance, the titles to your fields are on top of the fields instead of on the left. So I know you probably do not want to lose any changes you have made to the file, but at least install a fresh copy to see whats going on. That's about all I can offer. If it doesn't work, feel free to tell me what a horrible idea it was!!!!
