Re: Image Handler 2 Support
Now you have my attention!!!:laugh:
So just so I am clear.. Is this a TRULY cross browser compatible replacement javascript for IH2 you have developed???
If so I am currently testing the next IH2 release, and once you get the script cleaned up I would like to test it with the new codebase and if all goes well include it in the new release..

I need people to test in older browsers,
here is the test page, don't follow any links as you will go to pages that don't use the same javascript, just scroll and hover
It is designed to be a drop in replacement for the existing jscript, although I still have to remove some debugging code and clean a few bits up, so don't use on a live site yet
and here is the link

Yes
It should handle all the browsers the old jscript does plus supporting webkit browser correctly (fixes page fold fault) and bringing in Opera support
It has been tested in all the modern browser (IE8, FF3.6, Safari 5, Chrome, and Opera 10.5x) and works the same, I have also tested it in
Opera 9 - works correctly
Opera 8.5 - works however, hover image may go off page when you are hovering on an image at the very bottom of the visible page (still better than no support )
IE6 - works
and dark Angel also tested some on a mac
Firefox 2--works
safari 1.32--works
IE 5.2--nope -- But original image handler hover didn't work either
I am having issues testing the browser as my ram is limited and VPC runs like treacle, but I didn't touch the code that controls IE or Firefox, (infact I deliberately worked around that)
also should say, it should just slot in, and replace the jscript file, no changes to any other files Zen or image handler are required for this version

Microsoft stopped supporting IE for the Mac YEARS ago, and making any code work with IE5 for Mac is a waste of time IMO.. So no big loss here..

Re: Image Handler 2 Support
I just have to say to you guys that my bandwidth usage dropped 75% when I started using IH2. It's simply a must have for every shop! It does save time AND money.
Re: Image Handler 2 Support
Hi!
Earlier today I went thru and merged the IH2 files into my ZC139d installation. Seems to working like a charm.
But I do have a problem... the no_picture.gif is not showing. Sadly, I am not sure if it was showing before I added IH2. After I put this up, I will do a quick rollback to see.
I'm fairly certain I must have messed something up during the merging process while I was getting the old IH2 to work with the new ZC.
Can somebody point me at the files that control this function?
Thanks!
Oh, in case you want to see the problem:

Re: Image Handler 2 Support
BTW, my settings are correct:
Product Image No Image Status - 1
Product Image No Image picture - no_picture.gif
AND, yes, no_picture.gif is a file that exists on my server:
/public_html/images/no_picture.gif
Re: Image Handler 2 Support
Well this is strange.... rather than going to the trouble of reinstalling my backup to see if NO IMAGE was functioning, I simply created a new product with no image.
It worked!
So how do I update so that IH will notice my existing NO IMAGE products?

have you cleared the image handler cache?, as that should cause image handler to go looking at the original database image location thingie again
