Re: Apple Zen Template Support Thread
Based on the shadow that I saw used on the Apple Zen template I am trying to add a border to the background on my own template. The effect I am looking for is to have the image pictured below (which has a darker purple border) as the background for the main part of my page which I think is refered to as the center column.
http://oneposhshop.com/Shop/includes...ed%20small.jpgThe background of the entire page which will show on either side and below this purple background can be viewed at http://oneposhshop.com/Shop
I sliced the purple background into pieces similar to the "shadow" pieces but when I tried placing them in the equivalent places in the css file no changes were reflected. I have the feeling that I'm missing some steps but I'm not sure what they are.
I've only been successful in putting in the background image slice in .centercolumn but not in the #centerColumnWrapper but even in the .centercolumn they aren't showing up as a continuous vertical line when I set it to repeat in the css style, actually you can see the pink of the main background showing through between each instance of the slice.
Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.
Thanks,
Rochel

If I have a store with only 3 product categories (each category has a number of sub categories) Can I have each category listed as a drop down meno on the top rather than just one categorey box?
I apologize if this has been covered but I couldnt find this searching
thanks!
Replacing the menu files with the menu files from this mod:

May do what you're looking for.

Hmmm. What are all the My_template files you are referring to? Do you have an ftp program to upload the files? How much have you done so far?

Hmm, this may be complicated, trying to get that to work with the Apple Zen Template. However, if you made images the exact same size as my original shadow images, uploaded them to includes/templates/YOUR_TEMPLATE/images/, and made the name changes in the css, I guess you should see the changes.
I tried to look at your site to get a better idea of what you're trying to do, but I don't see any purple background anywhere, so I think maybe you're in the middle of a big adjustment. If you can get the site back where you had it, perhaps I can help more.
Re: Apple Zen Template Support Thread
I did install an ftp...but I am not real sure how to use it. I tried and it said that it was closed and couldn't connect
I did the beginning how to customize your template here:

Ok, I made the following change to the css file:
Code:
#mainWrapper {
background-color: #711C4F;
text-align: left;
width: 940px;
vertical-align: top;
}
So now there is some sort of purple background which can be viewed at: http://oneposhshop.com/Shop
I'm not sure if I made the correct adjustment to the css file although it seems to have worked. Now what I want to do is to give the rounded effect to this square and include the darker border slices that I attached in the previous post.
Re: Apple Zen Template Support Thread
Thank you for the quick reply! I took a look at that mod and the tpl_dropdown_menu appears to be the same as in the apple zen template? Are you saying that apple zen template cannot accomplish that?
More specifically if I have category 1, category 2 and category 3, I want to show those as buttons along the top and each of the sub categories that corresponds to category 1, category 2 and category 3 will fly out from each button. I'm just not sure how I code these links
Re: Apple Zen Template Support Thread
wahooo I got the file in but where exactly does the file go. It doesn't seem to see it in the tools.
Thanks so very much for a great template and assistance.

Are you talking about the apple_zen template files? If so, did you place the files and folders in the correct places like it says in the paths when you unzip the files? For example: the file "english.php" goes in "includes/languages/apple_zen/"
and in the folder "includes/languages/english/" you need to put the apple_zen folder that has the "header.php" file, etc.
If you have done this then make sure you have edited the "Template_info.php" file located in the "includes/templates/apple_zen/" folder. Once you edit this it should show up in the templates part of tools
