I had this problem continuously until all my errors were fixed.
I am still getting this error message
Line No. Column No.
2,138 23
I have opened it and it looks to be where I offer £5 gift voucher.
However the £ sign is missing from the data but it is included in my zencart product heading

5 Gift Certificate

<g:id>102</g:id>
<g:price>5.00</g:price>
I am currently removing all £ signs and quoting GBP instead.
the error has now moved to this line.

5 GBP Gift CertificateYou can email this as a gift to anyone you like. All you need do is log into your Candle With Care account and click on the Send Gift Certificate button in your shopping cart. Please allow a little time for us to receive your payment before we release the Gift Certificate into your account.

any suggestions?

The other aspect is that for this category Google demands a Brand Name. The product is Jewellery and comes from all manner of places and often through 6 sets of hands so it is impossible to establish a factual brand - does one create their own brand name for this purpose??
Because I sell vintage and antique collectibles - including costume jewelry - I have many items that I don't know the brand, so I setup Unknown Maker in the manufacturer list and use it. Works fine.

Thanks for that - I will use something similar .... like "made by an apprentice jeweller in a small village in the Tibetan foothills just north of the Khyber Pass" .... Google can't say that isn't unique :D
By the way - where does this information get entered? - in stock with attributes? or elsewhere?
cheers,
Mike
Re: The NEW Google Merchant Thread - Version 1.12.0
Hi there
I am finally making some headway on using this mod. I was able to get a feed made but for some reason it keeps stopping midway through a product. Not the same product everytime either so I have not been able to determine why it is stopping. I am not getting any errors from Google on the feed that I am submitting.
I have over 14000 products. The last time I ran the feed it ended here
id: 5541, price: 68.84, description length: 286 - including - success
id: 5542, price: 8.84, description length: 397 - including
I looked at product ID 5542 and found nothing strange or weird about it.
Any thoughts?

When you setup a product, it's entered in the Products Manufacturer field. Zen Manufacturer = Google Brand attribute.
Re: The NEW Google Merchant Thread - Version 1.12.0
I have homemade items which are exempt.
In my config setting I have this:
Default Product Type (blank)
Product Type - Top
Google Product Category Default (blank)
Enter a default Google product category from the Google Category Taxonomy or leave blank (note: you can override this default setting by creating a Google Product Category attribute as per the documentation):
1. If I enter Apparel & Accessories, it doubles in my feeds.
2. If left blank - nothing
Findings:
The product type is functioning correctly but the category type is not.
Why?
Has anyone else had this experience or problem?
Thanks
Re: The NEW Google Merchant Thread - Version 1.12.0
danilyn22 and candleman
besides viewing your feed file in an editor, it helps to view your feed in IE or Opera. If there's a problem with your feed the browser can't load it. It will show you where the problem is. When the errors have been fixed the feed will finally load in your browser.

That sounds like what I have been experiencing. I posted about it in the old thread.

Another thing that is happening is there is one product that consistently has the product type tag omitted but the rest of the products in the feed include the product type tag. This is the only thing keeping the feed from being perfect in merchant center.
The product type tag can be added manually but most shop owners will not want to deal with that.

Have you created attributes of age, gender, color, etc for each product?
