Zen Cart 1.3.8a. I am seeing and extra "amp;" before cPath in the sitemap URLs. For example:
<!-- generator="Zen-Cart SitemapXML" v 2.1.0 30.04.2009 10:35 -->
<url>
<loc>http://www.lonestarpopcorn.com/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=1071_1231</loc>
<lastmod>2010-09-09</lastmod>
<changefreq>weekly</changefreq>
<priority>1.00</priority>
</url>
When I put this category URL in the browser, I get the home page. When I remove the extra "amp;" then I get the category page. When I put in the one for products, I get "product not found". Remove the "amp;" and I get the product page.
It is the same with categories, products and EZ page sitemaps.
Has anyone seen this?
Using Zen Cart 1.3.9.d
with Google Base Feeder, Share Bookmarking Widget, Ultimate SEO URL and A Black Pure Template
Okay, I have tried searching this entire thread and the forums for this info but can't get no satisfaction...
I attempted to install this addon once and it killed my site. I'm not blaming that on anyone but myself because it says it is not supported on version 1.3.9.x of Zen Cart but I was sure I could get it running. When I couldn't access my site at all I regretted trying.
My question is then...
What are my options if this won't install on my version of Zen Cart?
OR
If you got this running on your 1.3.9.x site can you please outline the exact instructions I should follow to get it running?
I have looked into the free xml sitemap generators on the internet and I can't be sure that they are going to work for my setup because of the Ultimate SEO URL addon.
Thanks in advance for your help.
Salvatore
Mafiasam,
I don't have any other addons on my site (Zencart 1.3.9f), and SitemapXML installed easily using the instructions supplied with it.
So it's probably likely that you're getting a clash with another addon rather than with the version of Zencart.
I have it working perfectly with Zen Cart 1.3.9.f
Just make sure you change the name of admin, and template_default to whatever your custom folders. Then go to your includes folder Download a copy of the .htaccess file, open it in a text editor, scroll down to line 27 and chage it from this
To thisQuote:
<FilesMatch ".*\.(js|JS|css|CSS|jpg|JPG|gif|GIF|png|PNG|swf|SWF)$">
It just adding the xsl, XSL so your server don't throw an error.Quote:
<FilesMatch ".*\.(js|JS|css|CSS|jpg|JPG|gif|GIF|png|PNG|swf|SWF|xsl|XSL)$">
Thats it, just make sure you add it to your robots.txt
I don't use Ultimate SEO URL addon so I can't help there.
Ive got a problem its not loading the EzPages this is what its saying:
Ezpages Sitemap
EZ-Page ignored (found in ROBOTS_PAGES_TO_SKIP): "http://fancykidz.com/index.php?main_page=create_account" (http://fancykidz.com/index.php?main_page=create_account)
EZ-Page ignored (found in ROBOTS_PAGES_TO_SKIP): "http://fancykidz.com/index.php?main_page=contact_us" (http://fancykidz.com/index.php?main_page=contact_us)
what do i do in that situation??
@ country charm and celtic
Thanks for the advice. I'm going to have to make sure I have a valid backup before I try again. Uninstalling it didn't help the last time I tried it either.
Country Charm - I will definitely follow the directions given. That's exactly what I was looking for.
Thanks

Hi, I get admin tool sitemap XML. There is a message at the HEADING_TITLE
TEXT_SITEMAPXML_OVERVIEW_HEAD TEXT_SITEMAPXML_OVERVIEW_TEXT TEXT_SITEMAPXML_INSTRUCTIONS_HEAD TEXT_SITEMAPXML_INSTRUCTIONS_STEP1 TEXT_SITEMAPXML_INSTRUCTIONS_STEP2
I am using 1.39f
Anyone please can help, will be appreciated.
It means one or more files are not in the right place. Check and make sure if you have renamed your admin you change the name on the sitemapxml admin folder to the correct name. Also make sure you change the name of the template_default to whatever name you are using.
Yes, it is how it works.
Looking at your sitemapproducts.xml in my browser, the links are accurate, just the "&"
Viewing source code it is "&", which is the correct code for "&".
Just researched this today myself with regard to this mod. (I knew from past html experience that & is code for &)
You might want to look into another cause as I recently went through the same issue.

Turning off the following in Admin>Config>Index Listing

I have two similar sites that I recently put this google sitmap mod on. One is dynamic url's*; the other is simple seo url mod.
The dynamic urls do not show category in the site map.
The simple seo urls DO show the category in the site map.
I'm going to see which performs better. Right now, my older site with dynamic urls can be at top of google for many products; with the newer simple seo url site right below. Sometimes, reversed.
My main thing is to see how this sitemap mod works in general. In past, I kinda custom built my sitemaps and it worked. But this mod, if it works, is much faster.
I did have to change an admin setting to have products list in DESC order, so latest product uploads are at top of sitemap with highest page relevance number.
######################################################################
* Dynamic url site is older and originally had Magic SEO urls, which worked great but stopped with upgrade to 1.3.9 series. Rather than buying again, I'm trying the zen cart simple seo and sitemap mods...testing against just dynamic urls...which surprisingly are performing well.
**Another thing: I notice that the dynamic url site (my main site), in the google search results the link often shows category as "0". Not sure why.
***I almost keep forgetting when doing this google sitemap mod on my sites to amend the includes/htaccess file to read xsl.
Re: Getting the cPath variable into products' sitemapxml links
I've got category-specific formatting for my products, so the cPath variable is a necessity for my product links. You can add this to the generated product links by editing /includes/pages/sitemapxml/sitemapxml_products.php (line 35 for v2.1.0):
Code:$link = zen_href_link(zen_get_info_page($products->fields['products_id']), 'cPath=' . zen_get_products_category_id($products->fields['products_id']) . '&products_id=' . $products->fields['products_id'] . $langParm, 'NONSSL', false);
Yes, thanks!
Hi all, Could somebody help me out please.
I have generated the sitemaps via admin and there are 6 sitemaps....
..sitemapindex.xml
sitemapcategories.xml
sitemapproducts.xml
sitemapezpages.xml
sitemapreviews.xml
sitemaptestimonials.xml
.... Which one do i have to submit/specify in robots.txt?
Many Thanks
should i enable or disable "use existing files", plugin works great, im just wondering whats the best choice here.
is it also possible to disable one specific category and one specific product?
thanks in advance :)
I would also like to know the answer to this. Should we be submitting every single sitemap, or just the sitemapindex.xml?
Also should we be submitting sitemaps for
www.oursite.com and oursite.com
or just one of them? I've heard we should submit both variations to google.
I asked about this and never got an answer so I put this one together from reading all the files and it seems to work:
index.php?main_page=sitemapxml&inline=yes&rebuild=yes
Just submit one domain - I use www. You can specifiy which domain is the preferred one in your google webmaster account for the domain.
Rob
Submit sitemapindex.xml, webmaster tools reads this and automatically adds the others.
Please keep in mind that starting with Zen Cart version 1.3.9g, the canonical url for product no longer includes cPath. Although, you may submit a sitemap that includes cPath, when the link comes to Zen Cart, the canonical url will exclude the cPath. This is just something to keep in mind for those upgrading to Zen Cart 1.3.9g
I encounter an Mysql MAX _JOIN_SIZE exceed problem, I am using a Share Host so can not modify mysql server setting. The error caused product xml stopped before generate finish.

I'm confused. In post 485 you said we needed the cPath in the sitemap? The mod in post 514 did that.
I am using 1.3.9f and my view source shows a canonical url for the products, example:
<link rel="canonical" href="http://www.prommart.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=104&products_id=3153" />
So including the cPath in the sitemap url is good...right?
Well, the Zen Cart team has dropped cPath from canonical url for products in 1.3.9g. If you want to keep the cPath, you can definitely modify the file and put it in override (this only applies if you upgrade to 1.3.9g or later version).
For us, we now submit all urls for product to search engines that exclude the cPath so everything is consistent.
Hi, I too am getting this error. I have checked to make sure all of my files are in the correct directories and that the folders are named properly. Is there anything else that may be causing this? I feel silly for having this problem, I'm sure the solution is right in front of me!
Thanks in advance...
I have read the whole thread but I have still a few questions...
Is this mod working with version v1.3.9b , i'm having errors like:
1: The sitemapproducts.xml has not changed (it is CMOD 777)
2: Google webmaster tool is not adding my latest update...i get a red cross
3: I don't have a compressed xml file, how to create one?
tx for a reply
help, google is saying my sitemap file is too large, how do i split it?????
im using the google sitemap mod(not sure its this one though lol :S )
but i need to split the file apparently....
but everytime i update my sitemap, im going to have to do this, is there no part of the sitemap config where i can set a size restriction
once reached creates sitemapproducts2.xml.gz???
p.s its 45mb, yet another site i have the same file is 47mb, so why is google saying my 45mb is too large yet 47mb is fine :S
1. This sitemap xml mod definitely works (now 1.3.9g). However, say I do not wish to include priority, date of last mod, or change frequency. How might I remove/exclude them? Or at least change the priority?
2. I recently took out the cPath mod as the "G" cart doesn't use cPath for canonical url. Search Engines still picking up cPath in index. Is this really a problem? CPath is included when one clicks to the product from the category anyway. I'd actually prefer the cPath mod, as I can more readily determine what the dynamic url is when looking at the sitemap.
Thanks!
Just an FYI - you should be re-writing all URLs to either use www. or not use www. As mentioned, this can (and should be) done in GoogleWebmasterTools but you should also modify your .htaccess to automatically re-write all URLS to either include or not include. This helps prevent duplicate content, and helps to prevent your pagerank from being split between 2 identical pages.
Is version 2.1 still the most up-to-date version?
From: http://www.zen-cart.com/index.php?ma...roducts_id=544
I found out that when you submid the XML sitemap, the mod generates a fault.
The XML file that is created, the URLSET ( </urlset> ) is not present (missing) at the end.
So robots will nog recognise this XML file
So people, don't forget to write it yourself.
Yes it isQuote:

You just need to read the read me text that come with this module to get it to work like it should. A lot of people install add on's without reading the read me text.
**nods in agreement**
There are two things I always do (and recommend) when installing add-ons.
- Read the readme files and any other instructions. Even IF I KNOW how to install modules I NEVER assume that alone is enough to correctly install it.. I read the readme to make sure I know all the possible "gotchas"
- Read the entire support thread (yes even the really LONG ones..) This way I know what the issues are, possible solutions, etc.. This helps me understand "where the bodies are buried"
Hi, I read somewhere that your sitemap xml had to be in your root folder?
If this is true how do I get it there?
My store is at the second level and after installing the map it now appears at
http://www.mydomain.co.uk/store/inde...age=sitemapxml
When I installed the map I copied the sitemapcategories.xml, sitemapezpages.xml, sitemapindex.xml, sitemapproducts.xml, sitemapreviews.xml files to my root directory so I kind of expected it to be there...
Alternatively can I not just leave it where it is and submit the above path to google, yahoo etc?
Thanks
Tony
Please read at least some of the thread to see what problems others have had and what was suggested to them to fix the problem before posting. I bet you might just find your answer.

HI,
I seem to have your original problem... When I generate my sitemap in admin and then click to preview it Firefox throws this error...
Error loading stylesheet: A network error occurred loading an XSLT stylesheet:http://www.majesticsilver.co.uk/stor...11/css/gss.xsl
With Chrome and IE it just brings up a blank page for the preview on http://www.majesticsilver.co.uk/store/sitemapindex.xml
I don't know much about SEO but I thought it would be nice to have a system to ping google with site updates.
To be honest I can even be sure this mod is generating a site map for me.
I include here the output text from the site map generator in admin...
so can anyone see anything wrong or some hint about what to test?Quote:

yep... searched through the thread a little more and found the answer here:
http://www.zen-cart.com/forum/showpo...&postcount=416
This is going to be a very dumb question, but I haven't stumbled on the answer yet.
Do we use the sitemap(s) we generate with Sitemap XML as our website's store sitemap for customers to view on a webpage when browsing the store?
In other words, do we somehow plug in the XML sitemap(s) in place Zen Cart's native http://www.domainname.com/index.php?main_page=site_map ??
??
Sorry for such a dumb question....
No not dumb at all if you read through the thread youll see this question asked a few times.
Basically its just for google, if you want a nicer site map for customers I saw an add on
http://www.zen-cart.com/index.php?ma...roducts_id=939
but I havent tested it yet... looks promising :P
I have v1.39g installed and just installed SitemapXML v2.10. The configuration box works fine under Configuration/Sitemap XML, but under Tools all I see is BOX_SITEMAPXML. When I click on that I receive the following error:
Forbidden
You don't have permission to access /admin/FILENAME_SITEMAPXML.php on this server.
Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Does anyone know the resolution to this? BTW, I changed the real name of my admin directory in the error above to just "admin" for security reasons :)
This seems like a faulty install, reupload all the files one by one and check 100% they all go in the right place.
Also check this thread about setting 777 permissions for your XML files and about editing your .htaccess file
After the install my regular site map is acting strangely. Normally it would display all the categories in a tree type format all indented but now its just a straight vertical list.
see here:
http://www.majesticsilver.co.uk/stor..._page=site_map
Any ideas which file might have been modifies or which file controls this behaviour so I can check and perhaps upload a replacement from backup.
Thanks!:D
Looks like a stylesheet issue.. You might want to start a different thread for this or post your issue here: Improved SiteMap Display.. A discussion about the Zen Cart site HTML map is slightly off target for this support thread..
Thanks so much for the tip, ill go do some digging up
I have one question... I have just installed an URL rewrite mod, the new "nice" links on the site work perfectly but the sitemap is still being generated the old way... (using the index.php etc etc)
is this something that needs to me modified to the sitemap code? or it is most likely a url rewrite issue?
This may not be the place for this, I use sitemap xml I have updated now to 1.3.9h and have done every update since starting with 1.3.8 so a-h. I had over 400 pages indexed on google, now 1. Seemed to have happened over night, I added some items and made changes so I submitted a new sitemap end of last month. Any ideas?
or help would be appreciated.
Installed as per instructions, left config Sitemap XML as was, set permissions 777 to all XML files.
When I go to Tools > Sitemapm XML i get the following
The xml files remain blankQuote:
HEADING_TITLE
TEXT_SITEMAPXML_OVERVIEW_HEAD TEXT_SITEMAPXML_OVERVIEW_TEXT TEXT_SITEMAPXML_INSTRUCTIONS_HEAD TEXT_SITEMAPXML_INSTRUCTIONS_STEP1 TEXT_SITEMAPXML_INSTRUCTIONS_STEP2
Any ideas please /
Thanks in advance

I am having the same issue. I am using SEO URLs and when the XML file is created it is using the original URL and google dropped all my links because they say I am redirecting from what is in my XML file.
I do not see that the orignal poster was ever answered to how to remedy this.
I do have the Config set to use current pages and I did reset my master categories. It did not make a difference
Also what I noticed as well is when it generates the product URL's it inserts this & in place of &. That makes all my Links not work. I had to go through and Find and replace all of those &. How can I get it to use the correct symbol?
ARGGGGH What is wrong with my SiteMap?
I tried to manually submit it to Bing and it gets to the first product and errors. Here is the error
HTTP code: 200
Severity: Error Line: 9 Position: 87 Message: '=' is an unexpected token. The expected token is ';'. Line 9, position 87.
The = is part of the URL. I don't understand why this is not working for me. Is it because I am on the latest version of ZEN?
ZC 1.3.9h
SitemapXML v2.1.0
I recently noticed that Google webmaster tools is having an issue downloading sitemapezpages.xml. All other sitemap files (sitemapcategories.xml and sitemapproducts.xml) show they were downloaded and no issues reported by Google.
The status of this page in google webmaster tools lists the following:
We encountered an error while trying to access your Sitemap. Please ensure your Sitemap follows our guidelines and can be accessed at the location you provided and then resubmit.
I verified that the sitemapezpages.xml file is in root and accessible (as it has been for last 12+ months). I checked through a month of backups and performed a compare and nothing has recently changed with this file. In fact, I have never had an issue since I installed this mod back in 2009. The sitemap is accessible, displays the urls to ezpages and click-through with no issue.
I have updated the sitemap and resubmitted, but Google keeps reporting the same error.
Has anyone else noticed any problems with Google webmaster tools and sitemapezpages.xml?
I know this may be a stupid questions and it was probably answered but I did not find it so here goes.
I installed as per instructions to the right directories changed permission to 777. I install install.sql When I click on tools/ Google site map I get and error 404 page.
What did I miss.
This is the reffered page
|http://www.rjfinewood.com/wood-tissue-box-cover/admin/FILENAME_GOOGLESITEMAP.php?zenAdminID=16uivqpn0m14kqm5h319ihahj7"
The only thing I changed on the above was the name of my admin folder.
Thanks
I successfully used the old version for quite a while on a old zen and have uninstalled the old SQL per this thread.
Now with 1.3.9h and this new install---
I have read the Read me and this whole thread "several times"and just can not seem to get "some" of my site maps to generate without errors.
I have permissions to all xml files to 777, also just for fun-- /includes/templates/template_default/css/gss.xsl is now 777.
[Even though the issue is supposed to be resolved in 1.3.9h for gss.xsl.]
But for example, categories, after step one in tools /Sitemap XML, always when clicked get me ;
the xml in /mystore appears ok, but I can't read code well and Google rejects it.Quote:
XML Parsing Error: no element found
Location: http://www.(mysite/mystore)/sitemapcategories.xml
Line Number 1, Column 1:
my config./setting - all three are false.
the popup in step one looks ok until i click on the link and get the above error.
Now one thing I have done prior is add CSS Flyout Menu 1.3.9 for a category side box.
Is this messing it up or what could I be missing here please?:dontgetit
I'm having the same issue as rjspomer above.
I installed the module, ran the SQL install, peeked at all the config settings, and then went to tools->SitemapXML.
When I "click here" in Step 1. to create / update my site map, I get a popup that just sends me to a 404 error and what looks like the zencart sitemap (which is distressing, as it links to "important links" pages which aren't in use and I don't have active on my site anywhere).
I changed the xml files to 777. Still no luck.
Anyone?
Hi rainestudios
My problem was I still have Google XML Sitemap in the tools folder and I was clicking on that instead of Sitemap XML
Ahhh -- I've never installed that, so that's not my issue.
Well I finally realized a could turn off the CSS Flyout Menu as a test and just did so. I then put on my regular category side box but I still get the same results.Quote:

So that's not it. :dontgetit
Well, I tried logging into store with Explorer instead of my faithful ol FireFox and did not get my warnings in the Step 1. popup as quoted in my prior Dec. 22, 10 post.
And resubmitted (Step 2) and low and behold, Google "and Yahoo" accepted it, but not Ask (cURL Error: "couldn't connect to host" reading ....)
or
Microsoft (cURL Error: Error http_code "404" reading ....)
I just wanted Google to work for now, not sure of that yet, need to see go there and find out. But Yahoo was a plus, and no popup errors:smile:
I thought it may help those who are just using FireFox to get past this stage. Now on to the rest..... or get some rest, whatever.
I installed this sitemap generator and its generating data into the category and the products files.
My problem is that the only file mentioned in sitemapindex is the category file.
I dont know why the coding in sitemapindex doesnt also include the product file.
Any ideas ?
Ive now got this to work, more by luck, recopied some of the code again and changed admin/config to Use Existing Files = false
Id already tried changing this parameter and copying up the code again, but this time it put both the product and category file into the sitemap.
Hallo,
I am trying to use the Sitemapxml-2.1.0 module.
I have an issue with pinging:
Although google seems to be working OK, all the others do not. I get the following message:
I have googled a bit and I think that the default urls are correct.Code:Ping Yahoo!

Ping Ask.com
cURL Error: "couldn't connect to host" reading "<submitted url>"
Ping Microsoft

Yahoo, seems to be shutting down this service from December 2010:
http://developer.yahoo.com/search/si...ification.html
However, the curl errors should not be relevant to it, since the other services seem to be working OK. Do I miss a step or something?
Kind regards,

Hello All, I installed Sitemap XML... When I click [HERE] to create the sitemap window pops up and it starts creating the sitemap after about 6 minutes it stops and loads the page not found page.. I looked at the xml file and it started creating the file but never finished.. Any ideas of what might be going on.. Thanks for all your input..
The line that I have inserted in my
admin -> configuration -> sitemap XML -> Ping Urls
and works best, is the following:
Yahoo has changed its addressCode:Google => http://www.google.com/webmasters/sitemaps/ping?sitemap=%s; Yahoo! => http://search.yahooapis.com/SiteExplorerService/V1/updateNotification?appid=YahooDemo&url=%s; Ask.com => http://submissions.ask.com/ping?sitemap=%s; Bing.com => http://www.bing.com/webmaster/ping.aspx?sitemap=%s
Moreover has ceased working
Ask.com has a timeout issue with its servers.
Happy Holidays and Happy New Year!
Kind regards,
orange_juice
I've used this mod for a while, but only recently took a better look at it. I was able to submit my sitemap to Google, Yahoo, and Microsoft, but not Ask. Ask returned an "error 111".
Should the ping urls for those search engines be set to sitemapindex.xml, or sitemap.xml? I noticed the default was sitemap.xml, but when I changed it to sitemapindex.xml, Microsoft still worked, while the other two (that had been working) no longer did.
The sitemapindex file point to the bunch of other sitemap files that are created by this module. I would think this is a better place to point the search engines.
Anyone with any help, thanks....
Ok, this makes sitemaps. and Google finds them.
But all my urls are not produced right like before I upgraded.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled scripts including the old and this new version to no avail. Checked the files...
So, is this contribution working for anyone who has upgraded to 1.3.9h?
And if so, is there a code change needed?
(and Yes I read this thread a lot and I am still "Lost", with no cool intro and theme music to entice me to continue on and I do apologize if I am not seeing an obvious clue)
So far- clean install 1.3.9h, +
Image handler v2_0
FCKeditor
CSS Flyout Menu
Simple_google_analytics_1-2-3
Any ideas please, is it just me or is there more to this?:dontgetit
Thank you,
So far, manually changing my sitemaps to repair all the urls inserts of & to a & was my only solution that I could find to make the links work.
I wish I could learn more about code to help with this but I can barely keep up with just the other store needs.
Good luck
It easy to over look somethings, I am doing it daily.
In the "Free Software Add Ons" a contributor's first or older version remains available below the latest and newest version for downloading. This is very helpful as you upgrade and you may need to go back and see what files you may have installed or want to use an older version of the Add On with an older Zen. The later I highly do not recommend, go with 1.3.9h.
I keep a file of all my add ons per cart version, clear back to my first Zen Cart, but sometimes it helps to look at the original files again in download area just in case one may have overlooked something or why it was changed up.
This happens because your products do not have the master ID set.
You need to go to Admin -> Tools -> Store Manager
and "Reset ALL Products Master Categories ID" and then "Update ALL Products Price Sorter"
However be careful if you have linked products:

Hello,
Please advise how is this mod better than simply generating a regular sitemap.xml online and uploading it under google webmaster?
Many thanks!
Proper XML is &, <, and > so this mod is correct. The problem lies in the SEO conversion scripts .htaccess file. It is converting out the & as superfluous. Changing the handling of this in the .htaccess file is done at your own risk. I remember a comment of a certain SEO mod in the readme for this mod.

I am using 1.3.9h on 2 zencart stores. I had no issues running Sitemap XML. I do not remember having to make any code changes. I did, however, change the Ping URL's to this, which was provided in this thread and everything worked perfectly. Thanks
Google => http://www.google.com/webmasters/sit...ng?sitemap=%s; Yahoo! => http://search.yahooapis.com/SiteExpl...ooDemo&url=%s; Ask.com => http://submissions.ask.com/ping?sitemap=%s; Bing.com => http://www.bing.com/webmaster/ping.aspx?sitemap=%s
How do I delete the old Google Sitemap? As I have both appear side by side.
Thanks
is there anyway to order my product sitemap by price instead of date added? i use easy populate so my products are all generaly updated at th same time?
I understand that the author said he thought define pages were archaic and are not supported in this mod, maybe they are a bit aged. But I see that the Zen Cart 1.3.9h is still using a define page for home index. Has everybody figured out how to make an EZ pages their home page? I haven't and I am surprised at the very few mentioned posts in here such as from Zean in August of 2009.
So, if I was to try and patch in my important "define pages"urls in say the EZ-pages xml that is generated, does anyone think that would work? (That is after I learn how to do it).
I've uploaded SitemapXML following the instructions, however I'm up to step 4 and cannot find google XML sitemap listed under Tools, what am I doing wrong?
Install:
========
1. Unzip and upload all files to your store directory;
2. Go to Admin->Tools->Install SQL Patches and install install.sql.
3. Go to Admin->Configuration->Google Sitemap Configuration and setup all parameters
4. Go to Admin->Tools>Google XML Sitemap (If error messages occur, change permissions on the XML files to 777);
5. To have this update and automatically notify Google, you will need to set up a Cron
job via your host's control panel.
Did you rename the admin folder to match the your folder admin folder name?
I uploaded the folder "sitemapXML" as an entire folder - doh! It's been properly uploaded now and works fine. Thanks! :)
Everything worked in the admin and then I went to Tools-Sitemap XML and saw this:
HEADING_TITLE
TEXT_SITEMAPXML_OVERVIEW_HEADTEXT_SITEMAPXML_OVERVIEW_TEXT TEXT_SITEMAPXML_INSTRUCTIONS_HEAD
TEXT_SITEMAPXML_INSTRUCTIONS_STEP1 TEXT_SITEMAPXML_INSTRUCTIONS_STEP2
TEXT_SITEMAPXML_LOGIN_HEAD
TEXT_SITEMAPXML_LOGIN
I double-checked everything, then set the xmls to 777, changed the ping urls as per the post higher up and still got this. I did not change anything else in Configuration-Sitemap XML.
I'm using 1.39g (based on the post higher up saying his is working on 1.39h). Any ideas, please?
Cheers,
R
Just want to be sure I understand how this addon works. By installing this addon will it generate the sitemap after it is installed and then I can submit it to the search engines?
@countrycharm,
Yes, works well with sitemapproducts and and sitemapcategories but does not with sitemaptestimonials and sitemapezpages ...
#97 says, "No language file." Can you elaborate? I triple-checked and the language files are in place in includes/languages/english. I then added them to /english/custom and get the same problem in Admin-Tools-Sitemap XML.
HEADING_TITLE
TEXT_SITEMAPXML_OVERVIEW_HEADTEXT_SITEMAPXML_OVERVIEW_TEXT TEXT_SITEMAPXML_INSTRUCTIONS_HEAD
(Funny, I searched within the thread before my original post and did not see that.)
Gift,
You have to highlight and copy then paste the .sql file in admin panel/ tools/ Install Sql Patches
Apologies if there is already a documented solution but I have spent a couple of hours searching.
Problem: XML files not updating when requesting via Tools->Sitemap XML
Is there a way of getting this mod to work with 'Query Cache'? I am pretty certain this is what is preventing the XML files from updating as uninstalling it fixes the problem (as hinted in a previous post).
How does SitemapXML collect the data? One solution I thought was to re-introduce the files Query Cache replaces, rename and get Sitemap XML to exclusively use these. Is this an impossible option.
Our site is benefiting from the 'Query Cache' mod so we are reluctant to lose.
I look forward to many helpful replies :D
Hello
I'm using 1.38 with SitemapXML for a long time an I thought with no errors but I was wrong
In fact I've a problem and I don't know where is the origin of this problem
Google check many errors on my sitemap mostly redirection vs. SEO URL
I use CEON module and I don't really know what causing the problem
Instead of having the url with the SEO treatment, I have the url with the language at the end ?language=en
As this URL doesn't exist this generate Google errors
How to fix this?
Thanks
