sounds like html formatting issues. Almost everythink (premium modules: really everything) can be adjusted using html in the tpl files.
Header-image: think you need to make a bigger images
Pink areas: I guess you use CSS in you email? the pink areas are blockquote-tags, so try to add formats for those as well.

I have tried playing around with the header making it bigger but with no success. I thought I had worked it out as when I viewed the email in outlook via the preview pane the header was perfect, but when I viewed the actual email the body boxes stretch but not the header??? This is driving me insaine and I have trying to sort this for a couple of days without any luck.
The same for the gaps, the white spaces appear without anything being changed after reinstating the original files??

welcome to the world of making nice layouts, that look ok in different email clients ;-)
Your issues are pure html coding related, so there is not a common solution, but it requires customization work with try & error testing... can tell you stories about this :lamo:
I recommend you go back to the default template and start from scratch, testing every single change.
(btw. the cool thing with e.g. the review_advanced module is, that there is already a choice of nice, tested email layouts and when sending a test-email the list of products is already filled :cool:)

I've given in for now and literally put a plain logo which matches my website for now. It's good enough, but I am a bit of a perfectioinist which is why I was getting so frustraited!
Once business gets off the ground I will invest in some of the great add on's especially the template manager!

Just installed the latest version and now find that the output window (on screen) is not aligned correctly. I cannot see the result area.
Looking at the attached image you can see it is at the bottom of the page and too far to the left.
How could I correct this?

Ok... next problem:
Sending a test mail from the feedback module I get "Navigation to web page was cancelled" "Retype the address" I get the same when trying to run.
Only thing that has changed (apart from the upgrade) is I have just changed the domain name of the site. All settings are in place throughout.

Yes I reset all paths and have CEON running...
For what ever reason it eventually settle in and began working.
One question I do have: Using the feedback module I find when customers leave a comment I can be hard to identify them from the order database records as they may just use their first name Etc. So when it comes to me issuing a discount voucher I have to trawl through many email addresses to id them.
Not really a Mailbeez issue but if anyone has an easier way to id the sender I would love to know...

Regarding a discount coupon for reviews: am working on a module that automatically sends discount coupons after a customer has given one or more (per order) approved reviews.

Just wondering if anyone else has noticed the review reminder is only sending 1 email! The last few times I have run the module it looks to run fine but only sends out 1 email.
This is after upgrading to the latest version.
For example ran it a few minutes ago, should have sent out 35 emails, and ran it on 10/19 should have sent out 26.
Any ideas why???

Yup checked the beez-o-graph tracking and the myDEBUG's nothing concerning the beez...
I compared the mailbeez tracking to my order list to come up with the #'s missed b4, here is the beez tracking info:

Please check if both your "send copy to" and "send simulation to" email addresses are valid. depending on your settings the mail service might stop if these are not valid, which then causes that only 1 email is send per run (the copy is send after the "real email")

No when I list recipients it's zero or one, and when I send out it's zero or one, NEVER any more than that.
When I look at my actual orders list and figure out what orders should have been sent a review reminder email I would be seeing 18 in this case.
For example ran it on 11-1, days passed is set to 10.
The previous run was on 10-28.
So looking at this orders placed between 10/22 & 10/18 should have been sent an email.
correct?
Looking at the Customers->Orders in admin this would have been 18 emails...
please check:
- order status: did you select the correct status to work on?
- time frame: the second number (skip after) must be larger than the first one
play around with the settings until you see the matching customers in "list recipients"
order status: Shipped [5] -All orders are updated to shipped once we ship them. I batch update them using a SQL query in the data base.
time frame(was set to):
- Days Passed:10
- Days skip:20
Changed time frame to:
- Days passed: 14
- Days skip: 100
- And other various values to test this....
All that would show is the emails already sent?!?
I'm going to uninstall everything mailbeez and re-install see if that fixes it.
The strangest thing is that it worked fine b4....

HI Mailbeez - I'm sure this has been asked before, but I'm new to your software.
I just installed Mailbeez v2.5 from your website. I then installed the "Contact Customers with no Purchase" module. I am in simulate mode. When I click the "Send Test Email", I am not getting a test email sent to the address that I am putting in the text box.
Any idea what setting I may be missing to cause this not to send an email? I can send newsletters and emails just fine through the regular ZenCart modules.

Hi Cord - Thanks for the response. I did check these two variables but still nothing. Under Configuration --> Basic Configuration, I have the "Send Copy" = TRUE and the "Sent copy to" address is a valid one.
Also, under Configuration --> Simulation, I have the "Send copy in Simulation mode" = TRUE and the "Sent simulation to" email is a valid address.
Despite that, I am seeing the following behavior:
1. When I go to Mailbeez Modules --> Contact Customers without Purchase, and then I click the "SHOW (Recipients)" button, I see this message:

Cord - Well I know for a fact that we have customers who meet the configured time frame. We have over 16,000 registered customers, and all of them haven't made a purchase. My configuration for this module is to email those who haven't made a purchase 30 days after creating an account.
We ARE using a SEO rewrite module. Do you think that this could be causing a problem? I am not sure how your module works, but like I said, as soon as I hit the SEND button on the Test area, the pop up window redirects to our home page. If you can think of any exception to put inside the .htaccess file to not interfere with your module, please let me know and I can try it out.

yes, that will be the reason.
all you see in the popup is happening in the context of the storefront - the file mailhive.php is handling the output of the recipients, sending test emails etc.
so you need to investigate why the form post for sending the test email is re-routed.
when you right-click on the pop-up choose "this frame > open in new tab" or something like this. that allows better testing.

Can you tell me which PHP file you echo out the line:
<form name="test" action="......">
For example, is that set in your mh_draw_form() function?
What I was thinking is to perhaps hardcode the path (action="http://www.mjmmagic.com/store/mailhive.php") without having it be a variable which obviously causes my server to append an .html to the end of it.
That may be easier than trying to have me figure out how to add a REWRITE condition in my .htaccess file to bypass your scripts without affecting the other pages on our server.
Or if you know the rewrite line to include in the .htaccess file to never mess with your mailhive scripts, let me know and I can include it into our file.

all output in the popup is generated in mailhive.php, functions like mh_... are defined in mailhive/common/functions/...
however changes there will have a global impact on the mailbeez system

hi, im having trouble sending simple review emails, it seems they are going to my email address when i set it to run (i set as the send copies email address to mine which is fine), however customer ones are only going to copy@localhost am i missing something?

Ok, so I uploaded mailbeeze, and I so happen get hacked not long after.
On my security software I find the exploit as following:

Looking further into it, by installing mailbeez, it was copying every ordering going through our system through the APPLICATION_TOP.PHP and sending it in an email back to the mailbeez admin.
Any explanation why your software would need copies of my customers orders?

It seems as if the mailbeez files were manipulated on or shortly after upload. I'll have my original post removed/edited as soon as I can to prevent any worry for others. Your files were targeted on my hack attempt for whatever reason.
I would like to make sure that mailbeez is not opening any security issues - so hope we can find the root of this situation.

Hi we are currently running zencart 1.3.9 and have been having problems with getting pass the installation of this addon. we use filezilla to transfer all the files onto our server and have gone through the process a number of times to ensure the files are transfered into the correct folder paths. In our zencart admin interface we are able to click on the install button to begin the process of installing Mailbeez however once this button is clicked we are faced with a blank screen.
Please can anyone advise were we might be going wrong? :wacko:

Mailbeez - I got a quick question for you. I just ran my first production run of the WinBack module. It seemed to work great. However, there is one issue I was hoping you could enlighten me on.
These are my settings:
Set Order Status
Shipped [3]
Set days passed
180
Set days to skip after
365
In other words, I wanted it to email customers who 1) hadn't placed an order in at least months, and 2) go back one year from that date and email anyone in that time frame who hasn't made a follow up purchase.
The problem is that I am getting a few people contact me saying, "Hey, I just placed an order a few weeks ago. Why did I get this "Win Back" email?" I then looked at their customer account and sure enough, they seemed to have made a purchase within the 180 day threshold that I specified in the configuration.
Do you have any idea why they may have been sent that email? Is there something else I should look for to see why that happened? I am running ZenCart 1.3.8h still.

the module does find the highest order number in the configured timeframe and than checks if there is an order with a higher order number - assuming that newer orders have higher order numbers.

Yes, our numbers are chronological. Here is an example of what happened with a customer.
Customer A had two prior orders with us:
- Order #32807 on 05/17/11
- Order #35665 on 01/18/12
As you can see, their first order was well before the 180 threshold for the WinBack module to mail something out. However, they had a recent order that was only a couple of weeks old which was placed afterwards. So therefore, I wouldn't have expected them to get anything.
However, they just placed a third order with us using the coupon that we emailed out with the WinBack module. Both of those previous orders were in a Shipped status. It's the strangest thing! Not a horrible deal or anything, just more of a curiosity on my part.
Actually, I got a PERFECT EXAMPLE for you to check out.
I am attaching two screenshots which will illustrate the problem, and perhaps it will help you see any issues that I can fix.
On the WinBack module, when I click the SHOW button to show me a list of recipients, the very first person on the list looks like this:

As you can see, the order that this customer is looking at is #33690 on 8/6/11.
Now take a look at the list of orders this customer has placed:

You can see that order #33690 was the FIRST order he placed, but he's placed many orders since that time, and his most recent one was on 12/14/11, which is much less than the 180 Day threshold we have configured in the WinBack module.
So the million dollar question is, "Why would the module not see that the customer has more recent orders?"

As for updates, I just ran the Update Check, and it turns out that there is a newer version for the WinBack module (v2.1). I had been running the version 1.1 which was taken from the ZenCart download area.
I downloaded the new version, and I will play around with it. On initial inspection, when I ran the Show Recipients with this new version, that previous customer I used in my example no longer popped up. So perhaps it's fixed! I will go through the list, randomly sampling names from the Show Recipient query, and if anything looks out of the ordinary, I will let you know.

I like the simple review module the way it is but I like to rearrange the way the product pictures and their names are displayed.
I checked the template folder as well as body_html.tpl but I can't find where I can rearrange the list.

hi the simple review module comes with a subtemplate defining the product list located in the modules "email" folder - there you can adopt the output.
However the premium version comes with a much more powerful approach so you can e.g. build product grids (this is not possible with the simple module) and also does a automatic login for the customer (valid only for the write review page)

I have successfully installed and configured three modules. Simple Winback, Simple Review and Simple No Purchase.
I was also able to run all three modules in Simulation mode, however, once I changed to Production and ran these three modules only a portion of No purchase and Review module were ran successfully.
I started with Winback that Initiated and Completed without any problem.
Then, I ran Review. It started and I saw about 4 of the 18 emails were sent and after the Review I started the No purchase. It also started and send about 5 emails out of 8.
I assumed the module needs time to complete the emails, so I left them alone all night and when I checked back in the morning still shows both Review and No purchase have Initiated but none is Complete? :(
What's the problem? I appreciate your help.
hi you say in simulation mode the modules run through w/o issues?
if they stop in production mode a reason could be the way you configured your email. In some configurations (can't remember which) the sending stops if the email address is no (longer) valid.
Could that be a reason?
what are your email settings in zencart?
please also check the tracking report (mailbeez > reports)

In regard to invalid email address, I saw one invalid email in Winback. The email was sent and nothing was stopped. Later I received a non-delivered error message from my mail system. So I assume that was not the cause?
In regard to Simulation vs. Production. I went back and did a complete side by side comparison. This is what I found in Simulation:
1. If I run any module by itself and let it complete without running another module everything works find and all emails get sent without any problem.
2. If I start one module, for example Review, and start another one before the review module completed sending all the emails I get this error message when I run the second module "MailHive process locked until 2012-02-12 15:19:17 (58 secs left)" and the first module stops sending the email in the middle of the list and the second emails never gets send.
In this case I had 18 emails in Review, I started the Review and after sending about 5 emails I started No Purchase and I only received 6 out of 18 for Review and none for No purchase.
Please note that in Production I got portions of both modules.
Finally, for email options, in Maibeez I have set Override Zencart Email Template System to True and Double Dot Bugfix to False and my Zen-Cart email configurations are:

if you would like to run all modules at once, please use the cron-url. you find this url on mailbeez > configuration > first entry > footer-area.
the process lock is important to avoid double sendings with overlapping sending-processes. when you run manually let the first module finish before you close the popup and go to the next.
so far everything looks ok, just give the modules time to complete their task and use the cron-url to run all modules.

I ran each module manually, one at the time, and everything worked just fine.
I also checked with my hosting company and they don't allow me to run corn job. I saw you have a paid module that runs your modules automatically without the need for a corn job.
Can I use your module instead and not worrying about over lapping modules?

I get a 404 – what can I do?
You have a SEO add-on installed which is attempting to rewrite the URLs of the MailBeez system.
Solution: You need to add:
mailhive.php
admin/mailbeez.php
as exclusions to avoid rewriting these URLs.
then How to add into .htaccess ??

I have been running some of the mailbeez modules for months and I really love them :).
However, I do have a question about the review reminder advanced. It looks like my customers get reminder about leaving reviews even though they´ve already left their review...
Right now I have this customer, he got the first review reminder mail on the 10th of march, so he left his review on the 11th, but still he got a reminder tonight that he still did not left his review.
Is this a known bug, or? I´m on version 2.3. Would it help to upgrade?

for support on premium modules just send me an email.
However always make sure you are on the latest version of all modules!
The second reminder should only list those products which have been not reviewed. so if the customer purchases two product but only reviews one the reminder will list the second one.

this setting works only for zencart 1.3.9+, so the zencart default email template is still applied.
Either adopt your email function as described on http://www.mailbeez.com/documentatio...tion-zen-cart/ or adopt your email templates.
The next release of MailBeez V2.6 will come with the option to use a separate email engine, which will give full control on the layout, but also allows e.g. bounce handling.

The issue you post is a relatively easy fix (which is posted elsewhere in this thread), but you shouldn't bother with it because you are using a version of this mod that was built for ZC150. It will likely have many other problems once you solve this issue because you're using the wrong version of the mod with the wrong version of ZC.
However, your much bigger problem is that you're using a version of ZC that is not only outdated, but terribly unsecure and totally vulnerable to hacks. Reputable store owners no longer use ZC138 because the security issues with it also put their customers at risk.
Recommend you update to ZC150 immediately.
Best way to do this is to
1. back up your site files and database
2. make a list of all the mods you use
3. make a list of any files you have customized (use Beyond Compare or WinMerge to do file comparisons between your files and the 138a fileset to identify these files)
4. make a list of the settings for your shipping, payment, and order totals modules (from the admin)
5. uninstall all of your addons - including their database changes
6. make another backup of the store and database after addons are removed so if you make a mistake during upgrade, you have a cleaner version to start over with
7. download ZC150
8. Upgrade it per the instructions in the docs folder that's included in the zc150 zip file
9. Search the forum to find out which of your mods have been updated for zc150
10. Reinstall those mods that have been updated, say goodbye to the rest until they are updated

Yikes! Naturally, you only have so much control over your client, but I hope that you'll encourage the client to upgrade and provide the reasons why upgrade is necessary. I sure as heck wouldn't buy anything from your client's site as long as they insist upon using software that is not secure.
