Your slider images are 740 x 430 px. If you want to change the size you should change the width and height here in the stylesheet:

I want width:370px;height:440px, but when I changed it never worked..

strange is that you write me that on the site is slider's height: 430px, but in the stylesheet.css is defined height: 440px .. I do not understand..

so I tried to change:

The stylesheet is doing its job because when I make changes via firebug, it works :smile:

I still see the images as 740 px wide. Can you resize them in your image program and put up the new images at the new width? Then I can help you work out the code.

I believe your problem is that you have a stylesheet.css file AND a stylesheet_.css file. If you remove the stylesheet_.css and make your changes to the stylesheet.css then it will work :smile:

Wherever you want the attributes code to appear on the page, you need to move the attributes block of code to that place. Then you can use css for the styling.

First off I want to take the time to say a massive thank you for your template. When I get it working I will most definitely be buying you a coffee :smile: leaving links to your paid templates and directing as many people as I can your way.

I am posting here because for the life of me I cannot figure out why the image slider is not showing up on our test site.

This is a clean install of a 1.3.9g site.
For testing purposes I cloned our existing database and upgraded it to a 1.3.9g format.

Other than that no modifications have been made.

If I view the page source of the demo site versus the page source of ours there is no reference at all of this ...

When I view the source of your test site, I do not see the slider code. I would recommend checking to see that all of the template files are uploaded to the correct place.

Hi Anne,

After comparing all files in the install.txt

It seems that the download available here is missing

includes/languages/english/all_business/aboutus.php
includes/languages/english/all_business/header.php
includes/languages/english/all_business/index.php
includes/languages/english/all_business/metatags.php

Above 4 missing completely

includes/modules/sideboxes/currencies_header.php
includes/modules/sideboxes/languages_header.php

The 2 above are also located in /modules/sideboxes/all_business/ would this be what the install text should mention ?

Ok I have triple checked all files and all are present so logiclally the only thing this could be caused by is the previous templates database alterations.

That's because it's not telling the font what to do, it's telling the div what to do...............

Well, now let's add an "a" to it, so it will tell the font what to do:

Then, you will notice the difference. With you having the font-size: 2em;............it's pretty big.

I also just noticed that you've got 2 separate stylesheets loading..............."stylesheet.css" and "stylesheet_backup1.css", which can cause you some MAJOR headaches trying to get everything right, when these two stylesheets are fighting against each other.
You really should use a ".txt" extension or a ".bak", so ZC won't pick it up. Something like "stylesheet_backup1.css.bak".

Oh.......wait..............you said "which PHP file", didn't you? You can find the code for it in "includes/templates/template_default/common/tpl_main_page.php" starting at around line 193, and looks like this:

A customer has pointed out to us that in our old template design you were able to sort by price low / high whereas the new design (being the all business template) does not allow this.

The column grid layout on this template only has sort alphabetically. There is a filter option to filter by titles beginning with a,b,c etc but no all round sort by price. (It is available if you navigate to all products which is displayed in a list form)

Is there any way of add in sort by price onto the main product pages ?

This is not a problem with the template. You are confusing the new/featured/specials/all product listing page with the product listing pages. The new/featured/specials/all product listing pages have this functionality but the product listing page does not. See all possible settings for the product listing page here:

If you search the forum you will probably find instructions for adding the filter that you want to the product listing page.

Thanks for the response. I have indeed found and implemented the code.

For anyone elses reference it can be found here

Just to clarify that - the issue is caused because this template used the Column Layout Grid addon. When I say issue it's not an issue more lke change of functionallity. :smile: The default zencart install does allow sort by price on the main product pages.

The code I linked to above will sort out anyone with the Column Layout Grid addon who wishes to implement sort by price.

Also to clarify, the drop down with sort by product name, Price, model, date added is not natively available on the product listing page. The sort by price functionality that you are talking about is natively available on the product listing page by clicking on the link "price" when the page is using rows.

The code you have linked to will give you a drop down sort by box like on the all/new/featured/specials product listing pages on your zen cart product listing pages when you are using the column layout grid module.

I've had to make a few changes including adding a javascript file to includes/modules/pages/index and to includes/templates/all_business/common/html_header however i'm having great difficulties getting past step 2. First of all many thanks for a great template, I have spent the last five months making personal alterations and fell I am almost there with the site now but have a couple of questions you may be able to answer?

Your stylesheet rules are being overridden by hard coded styles in the product description themselves. The template does not natively come with any hard coded style rules, so they must be something that you have added or you have used the html editor in the product description area.

Check your php sytax, etc. as you must have an error in your code. You can re-install the files related to these links from the original template package or do a file comparison.

Ok so I looked at this again this morning and went on the hunt in my FTP program to see if there was any files that perhaps didn't look right or out of context with Anne's theme, low and behold I clicked on web/includes/extra_configures and in there was a file named estoreparameters.php, after downloading this and opening it up in my text editor it was full of Twitter/Youtube define statements and was obviously causing a conflict!!

Well all I can say is many thanks to Yourself and Anne for the help, I have managed to get 6 months into this without asking any questions and soley using the search function but had come to the stage where my eyes could not handle anymore!!

Your errors are not native to the template or the slider. See the template demo here:

I didn't question as to whether the original template had valid XHTML or CSS, it was more that prior to me changing the jscript_easySlider.js file and using the script command and changing it to a php file I am now presented with a list of circa 30 errors which were not there before I changed the file extension. Only reason I changed this was to cure the page error being noted by IE8.

This is using an original copy of the jscript_easyslider.js file that was originally downloaded from your website.

I understand the need to validate after template alterations and also do so on a regualr basis, hence my statement that "amongst other issues" in my last post.

I just wondered if perhaps due to file extension change that a conflict of coding happened (if thats the correct term)?

I know this must be annoying you by now but given your experience I appreciate your help, when you say you moved the file did you rename it aswell?

You see the problem I have got is this, if you rename the .js to a php then surely you need to set the definition in the define_main_page.php in all_business as this currently still directs the script to jscript_easyslider.js even though the linked tutorial specifically states to delete that file from the relevant folder!

I have now completely reloaded that file and done exactly as stated over and over again I can upload the error log from the validation tool if it helps?

Ok not to worry, just can't understand how you don't get a validation error at all and I'm altering the same file (as from your website) altering it in the correct way and then getting errors in validation.:frusty:

The product info page that comes with the template package is the default zen cart unmodified product info file with a horizontal rule added above the reviews and tell a friend buttons. If you have made any modifications to this page you will have to re-do the cross browser testing and correct any issues.

Go to your /cache folder, read the error files and fix any errors. It looks to me like you have not uploaded all of the template package files proplerly. Go through the template files and double check.

Thank you so much, PatF, Anne... I looked in the /cache folder and found only an index.php file I assume is there for the purpose of cache-ing, and what appeared to be a configuration file holding one long string of code, but no error file.

Whats also strange is when a secondary page s loaded, such as "Personalization", the footer appears.

To your suggestions, I did go back to my local "all business" folder and manually compared all folders/files to what was on the hosting service, and everything appeared to ne in order...

I guess its time to wipe the site and start from scratch. I only have a couple of weeks invested from switching to ZC..

Hi Irdiii,

There is no need to wipe out your work to date just yet.

Switch templates back to the "classic" template. If the same issues occur then you know it's not a template problem.

Assuming that they don't then it is an issue with the template (something has gone wrong somewhere with the upload) - the template itself works as I am using it on our site with no issues.

The personalisation page displays correctly - it is an ezpage which are created seperately to the nomal index page build. Likewise if you click into a category this also displays correctly. Your issue is with the index page itself - something is going wrong here and here alone. Normally this would turn up in your cache folder.

At the risk of asking a patronising question. Did you check the remote (server side) cache folder and not your own local install ?

Just to give you an idea your page stops just as the main content is being created. Your last line is:

<div id="indexDefaultMainContent" class="content">

The next line on my source code is:

<script type="text/javascript" src="includes/templates/all_business/jscript/jscript_easySlider.js"></script>

It might be worth checking out that the file is present on your server, upload it again in case there was an error in the upload.

I wasnt, fwiw, suggesting the template was flawed, btw. Having deen it in operation was what convinced me I wanted it!

Try changing the permissions on your cache folder to 777, then go back and reload the page that is giving you the problem. Check your cache folder for the error.

This template does not have a right box. This needs to be disabled. Admin -> Layout Settings -> Column Right Status set to 0

Admin-Tools-Banner Manager: Switch off any "Wide-Banners" this will sort out the banner at the bottom.

The "category" is an Ezpage which is there as a sample. You can disable it or indeed add different pages in admin->Tools->Ezpages.

I would strongly suggest you familiarise yourself a bit with Zencart before trying to install and customise templates. :smile:

In this case that is not true. He has already resized all images to the same size. It is the product titles that are causing the displacement. Some are one line long and some are 2 lines long.

I'm on my first install of Zen Cart 1.3.9h and haven't done much besides some tweaks to get SSL working.

So, I sort of have an idea how the overrides system works, but I did something dumb and am not sure how to fix it. Rather than uploading this theme to the root /includes/ folder I uploaded to /myadminfolder/includes/.

Should I just go into the /admin/includes/ and delete the corresponding files that were uploaded or did I overwrite something important? I don't remember now if I hit "overwrite" in FireFTP or what... guess I was spaced out :oops:

I did then upload the theme files to the correct includes folder and it seems to be as okay as can be expected being partway through.

You should go through all of the template files and remove them from the incorrect folder on your server. All overrides were used in the package.

I'm talking about the homepage slide. I undid the centering of the images until I can center the buttons, as well.

quick question about sliders ...A while back I found a walk though on how to adjust the sliders but now for the love of me I can't find it again ...All I want to do is to remove the numbers 1 though 5 from the slide ..what do I need to remove or add to make this happen

There are customization instructions for the slider in the install.txt file. You can just display:none; the div id that controls the slider numbers.

I'm thinking to remove the tagline from my design. Would it work if I just display:none that (haven't dug into how CSS works yet), then expand the logo size in header.php?

The original logo is 217x57
The tagline is 217x45 counting margins

so I could change it to 217x102

It seems like there is plenty of real estate to the right then so I could actually make it something like 500x102 without much conflict right?

Hello

I have been working on a faq for my shop, and tried to use the FAQ module from the download section, and i installed it and it looks like it works great, but then i made a notice of a small problem, and when i go into a category, the main page (slide images) are also listed at the top of the category page, i could not have this here, so i loaded the mysql backup, to remove any configuration changes that had to be made, but the problem is still there.

there are no pages that have been overwriten, so i can't figure out what the problem is, the modules was great and just what i was looking for, but i can't use it, if it F... up my site, if any one have a idea how to solve this, i would be very happy.

I have problem with the layout of my website. I have no idea who there isn't sideboxes ( categories, manufactuer etc ) on the left side of my website.

my web is www.almondsquare.com . I would like to know how can i resize the slider so that it will fit nicely without 'pushing' the blue bar on the right of the template to exceed it's place that is suppose to be.

If you post a link to your site and a very concise description of the problem I will take a look. There is no reason why any stable, properly installed module should not work.
