it's ok i've replaced the code now and it's working again
phew i panicked then
but i'm back to square 1 again
so what is it that i need to delete?

please can you help me get rid of gift certificates and discount coupons and i need rid of the twitter link
both in the footer

You would have to create a new button set and create a new background image for the top navigation. You can find any other places in the stylesheet.css file and change the colors there.

If you have changed the meta tags file, which it seems that you have, you probably have to clear your cache/cookies to see the change.

Hi, Can someone help - site is www.ew-trading.com
I have changed all info onto this template but can't get the credit card sidebox to appear. Please can you advise? Do I need to do something other than just activate it. It worked on the other site. It did have a logo in but I am not sure if that is maybe to olarge now to make it display, I can make smaller if I can find the file to change! Inherited site, fairly new to zencart.

This is not a bug in the template. check the readme instructions for the module you have installed or post to the support thread for the particular module for support.

Hi Anne,
I modified your great template quite a lot, here is the link
www.mcmcigares.com/index.php . Although am still building some of its pages, the big job is done. I am facing an issue actually. As I have changed the background, i have noticed that the same background is used for pop ups such "estimate shipping" . Try adding a product as guest and checking out, then click on the estimate shipping to see what i mean. The text is not very readable.

Is there a way i could change this? without changing the background of course ( I kinda like it ....a lot :P ) ....

Find the body id for the shipping estimator background and add background:none; to your stylesheet.css.

Hi I have a tweaked version of this on a 1.3.9 site. I noticed it is labelled 1.5 compatible. Can you tell me if any an where the changes are from the 1.3.9 version to the 1.5 version?

I'd like to update the existing site and clone the template I have for a new 1.5 site.

It depends on which version of the template package you started from. I would recommend downloading the most current version of the template package and then doing a compare between the current version and the version you are using. Beyond compare is a great tool for file comparison :smile:

It depends on what version of the template package you are using. If you are using the latest version, it has been updated for 1.5 compatibility. If you are using an eariler version then you should compare the files in your version of the template package with the files in the newest version.

Hi again Anne,

I'm trying to get this template to work with Right and left boxes, I've nearly got it working baut am still having a little trouble with the right boxes being pushed out to the right. I can't seem to find any settings in admin or CSS where I can fix this. Any hints would be appreciated.

OK, I've installed this theme and I'm following the steps in the readme.html.
I'm in step 7 and want to change the logo, but, apparently, I'm not able to.
I've uploaded the new logo.gif to includes/templates/andover_modern/images
I've changed the file includes/languages/english/header.php to use the new file, but then the site still shows the default "Andover Modern" which has the URL "http://mysite/shop/includes/templates/template_default/images/logo.jpg"

What am I doing wrong?

You should always be changing the file in the override directories. So includes/languages/english/andover_modern/header.php

Hi,

Great template love it. I have an issue in that since I installed it on my site (www.handtools-2u.com) I cannot get tp products or categories.

It was fine when I first installed it and then I deleted all the example products/categories from the zen cart install, changed a couple of images in define main page.

Now when I click on a category the page just refreshes to the front page?

Any ideas what i have done?

I have recently upgraded my zencart from 1.39h to 1.5, the site seems to be working fine except for the imageslider on the homepage. It has all the images stacked one on top of the other.
Is it an issue with the slider and the new version or something else?
What do you suggest?

The template is fully compatible with versino 1.5. It sounds like you are missing the includes/modules/pages/index/jscript_easySlider.php file.

I just installed your template and love it, all your instructions have been excellent along with your responses to help others in this thread have been most useful for answering almost all the questions i have had.

I have just a small issue and am unsure if it is Template related or core files.

In the product details page, when there are Attributes present a line of text appears that says "You may upload your own image files"

how do I eliminate this text from the page?

Hello ;-) This is not a template issue. You can use the developers toolkit to search for this text. It will tell you what file and line the text is in and then you can change or delete it.

I have another question, again not sure if this is a Template issue or not, if not, I will gladly post elsewhere.

I am trying to add new external links to the "Information" and "Important Information" lists in the footer. I have tried to search the general forum and re-read the majority of this template forum with no luck so far finding an answer.

Just not sure how to put external links in these two areas.

I would also like to add a "LinkedIn" icon to the footer along with Facebook and Twitter

I have added the appropriate code to footer_menu_defines.php but am not sure where else I need to define this so that it will display

You can add links to the footer information in includes/languages/english/extra_definitions/andover_modern/footer_menu_defines.php.

The important links are just ezpages that you turn on for the footer.

Go to line 76 in includes/templates/andover_modern/css/stylesheet and remove the :

display:none;

You will need to add the styles for the top ezpage links as the templaet is designed not to use them.

This is a highly altered version of your theme, I have already created the styles for the ez-pages and increased the menu height to accommodate the second row of the ez-page menu bar links.

BTW I also figured out how to control the speed of the java slider, you just need to add a speed element to the java script call like this:

I am only 50% confident altering the existing php pages, but if one would like to add a pinterest share button, is the only place to enter/alter the code in:

includes/templates/andover_modern/templates/tpl_product_info_display.php

or does it need altering elsewhere?

I am having difficulty getting this template to load, my site is only showing what appears to be the background. I checked my cache and found the following error:

Any suggestions as to how to fix this problem?

I just tried to re-upload just the tpl_languages_header.php file again directly to the /www/includes/templates/andover_modern/sideboxes folder but it sill is not functioning

I am having difficulty getting this template to load, my site is only showing what appears to be the background. I checked my cache and found the following error:
PHP Fatal error: require() [<a href='function.require'>function.require</a>]: Failed opening required 'includes/modules/sideboxes/languages_header.php' (include_path='.:/usr/lib64/php:/usr/lib/php:/usr/share/pear') in /home2/lyriclea/public_html/includes/templates/andover_modern/common/tpl_header.php on line 44
Any suggestions as to how to fix this problem?

I just tried to re-upload just the tpl_languages_header.php file again directly to the /www/includes/templates/andover_modern/sideboxes folder but it sill is not functioning

You have not uploaded all of the template package files to your server or have uploaded them to the wrong directories. Try with a fresh upload. You can also try just uploading the missing
includes/modules/sideboxes/languages_header.php file.

Finally got the silly thing uploaded and installed correctly, thank you for your help.

I am now having an issue with the facebook link not functioning. I edited the test on the footer menu .php file to read as follows:

define('TWITTER', 'http://www.twitter.com/lyricleather');
define('FACEBOOK','http://www.facebook.com/lyricleather');

but I am getting a 404 error file not found message when I click on the link at the bottom of the page.
Any thoughts?

The issue turned out that not all of the folders and files uplaoded not sure why, I tried fresh uploads several times, finally had to go through folder by folder within this template and check for each and every file....royal pain in the you know what, but I finally got it :-)

but you corrected the poster saying that you had created something to address this, a problem still exists, any idea where the problem lies?

These problems are not template relates. Either your web host is really bad, or you are just not uploading all of the template package files to the correct locations on your server. Once all files are in place everything will work fine.

Host appears to be bluehost, so no problems there.

billcurley appears to not know how to use FTP...

We have used andover modern on several sites, and it takes about 14 seconds to FTP the template to the server, and then about 30 seconds to activate it and reset sideboxes.

Whole procedure should not take more than 60 to 75 seconds...

I know perfectly well how to use an FTP site it is way too simple to use, not sure why the files wouldn't upload as a package but they wouldn't.

I have never dealt with php files though and the structure of zen cart seems to have files all over the place, still figuring that part out as to what is where and why.
Some of the issues that I was and am having have been mentioned in other posts though there was no solution posted, just the accusatory blasts that someone didn't know what they were doing.

Bill... I have indicated the FTP procedure three or four times now, and you still seem to be having difficulty.

Move the ENTIRE "includes" folder (in the unzipped template download) to the server.

With Filezilla, this is a drag 'n drop.

ONE:
Highlight the includes folder on your local machine.

TWO:
Drag it to the server at the level you see the corresponding (server-side) includes folder.

Really... It can't be more simply explained.

The inherent folder and file hierarchy in the local copy of "includes" will be retained when it is FTP'd to the server.

Also... I suggested you consider a proper FTP program - WS-FTP Pro by Ipswitch is not only safer and more robust, but a trillion times easier than filezilla.

I appreciate your explanation, I know how to move files from my machine to my server using filezilla. I don't know shy some of the files were not getting uploaded but they weren't, I deleted the upload on my server at least three times and re-uploaded it. I finally went through folder by folder and checked for missing files and uploaded the ones that were not getting through, that finally got the template to function but there seem to still be some issues which I have not yet figured out what is causing them. Just as an example the "about us.php" file is not listed in the define pages editor drop down, this is not a problem now because I was able to locate it on my server and edit the file there. But the other problems I am not finding a solution to. Also, just FYI Anne, the link to your you tube video on the install readme file for "Add "Important Links" to footer menu" is the same link as step 9 "Customize Facebook and Twitter links"

Got it fixed, a friend of mine just came over and took a look, there were still some missing files and folders, still uncertain why they didn't upload, perhaps I will take schoolboys advise in the future and get a different ftp program. thanks

There are two "includes" folders, this is not made clear in any documentation that I was able to find prior to installing this template, make sure that the file gets copied into the www/includes folder rather than the root includes folder

I am not sure what you mean--there are not 2 /includes folders in a zen cart installation? There is an admin/includes and a /includes.

perhaps it is something that got created when I first installed Zencart, or maybe something that was created by bluehost, but there are certainly two seperate includes folders there. That was why when i first uploaded your template it didn't work, it was copied to the higher level includes folder.

On another note, where did you hide the meta information that displays when someone tries to post a link to my site? It is a little nuts when someone goes to post my web address and it ends up looking like an add for your services and Zencart.

There is nothing "hidden" about anything in the template. Search the FAQ's for how to change the site title.

OK Thanks, I will take a look at that, still trying to figure out php structure and find where everything is located, not an easy task but I will find my way around eventually. I'm sure there is a rhyme and reason to it but I haven't figured that out yet, CSS and html are pretty basic straight forward in comparison, guess additional classes may have been helpful but...

I have the earlier version of the template, we (in the UK) have to now display a cookie accetance script. I am trying to use the one from civicuk.
Now, their js sript is conflicting with the Easyslider script. Both work great on their own but the images on the slider appear one after the other down the page. (no slide) when I activate the civicuk script.

Torn my hair out over this, read all I could about js conflicts and attemped amny ways to get the two working together..... but failed!

The following is a copy from the cookie thread in 'all other contributions' Could you offer any light on this problem. All EU users will eventually have to follow. Thanks for any advice...

Make sure that you are changing the override file. If you see your browser title change then the change has been made. It might take a while for it to show in google with the change.

The browser title changed three days prior as soon as I made the change to the meta_tag.php file, yet it still has not changed either on FB or in Google, I would think that in three days and now over five that the change would have taken affect. Am I wrong?

I have just a small issue, and am unsure where to fix it. In my Categories menu I have sub categories and there are symbols showing up infront of the category name that I would like to get rid of.

Just wondering where and how to go about that?

If you see the browser title changed when you view the site, the change has been made and will take effect. It probably already has. Clear your browser cache and look again.

First of all: many thanks for this great template!

I am new to this and have just set up my store. I have a problem with the product description page and have found nothing in the other threads. As there is a tpl_product_ info_ display.php under andover_modern/templates I try my luck here.

Ideally I would like two or three photos next to each instead of just the one photo. Product ID, price and description underneath the one/two/three photos, all the buttons on the lower right next to that. If that is not possible, then the second and possibly third photo underneath the first. As it is now a second foto conflicts with the buttons as seen here.

I can include several extra photos, but they will be spaced out evenly over that line, again overlaying the buttons on the right and having a lot of empty room between them.

My apologies if this was covered somewhere else and I overlooked it!

I would like the images for drop down images to show in columns rather than a single row on any given product, better than that would be if the image only showed opnce the option is selected. Is this an option that already exists in the template, and if so where would it be selected?

I did paste this to the very bottom of templates/andover_modern/css/stylesheet.css
Doesn't seem to make any difference.
Easiest solution would simply be to force extra photos (one or two) to the left side. That would do it. There must be a command somewhere that allows them to slip right or -in the case of more than one- to spread in equal distance over the line irrespective of them overlaying the buttons on the right. If that could just be changed.
