Will Quick Orders be upgraded for ZC v1.5 soon?
Personally I had no plans to update this version of quick updates. But if only page registration is needed it will be very easy.Quote:

Quick updates is probably the most useful add on for us. We use it everyday to update by manufacturer, to know the stock and place orders by manufacturer and many other things. Am I missing some newer feature in Zen Cart? Or is there some other add on that does this? We would have a very hard time running our site without it.
Any thoughts?

Anyway, I just wanted to reiterate that quick updates V2.05 does appear to be functioning properly with ZC1.5. Proper registration is what’s needed. After a full install of QU2.05 on ZC1.5 and tinkering with the values (may have created a record) in the following tables appears to have QU2.05 showing the ‘Set Quick Update Options’ under configuration and ‘Quick Updates’ under catalog.
I have 1 Quick Updates record in configuration_group, 1 record in admin_pages, 17 records in configuration.

I sat down and did the work to update 2.05 to work with 1.5. Basically, I adopted the same method I use for EP4. So you also preserve the ability to modify your configuration values.
The modifications should work for both 1.39 and 1.5. You just upload the files, go to Catalog > Quick Updates and click on the Install button. Configuration entries are created and so are the proper Admin pages (I hope correctly!).
If you want, I can send you the files and you can update yourself. One thing of note, the old version upgrade sql are all defunct. Let me know what you want me to do.

Quick Updates - Version: 2.06 for ZenCart v1.5 now available in the downloads sections!
Hi,
I just installed Quick Update V2.06 on my Zen Cart 1.5.
I have popup edits enabled, I see the Description Edit icon and hovering shows the description of my product.
When I click to edit it, I get a pop-up page with the following error message:
"The requested URL /zcadmin/popup_text_edit.php was not found on this server."
I have looked and can't find this file, although I see some older posts here that make passing mention of it.
How do I fix this?

A real noob question here...
I have QU 2.06 loaded on ZC 1.5.
I works really sweetly, but I am stumped by how to edit products that have attributes (like size, colour, etc). Some of these attributes change the price, and QU shows only the first item by sort order.
I think I am going to find out that QU is not going to be any use to me for those products with attribute selections ... which would be a pity.
I hope someone can tell me that I am wrong ... and how o handle it...

So I have quick updates installed and was wondering if there was a way to blanket update every price on every item at once?

I just downloaded and installed this module. This file talked about: admin/popup_text_edit.php is not included in the current download in the plugins area (it is missing). I even re-downloaded again to make sure. I took mine from an older version (2.05) and it seems to work.Quote:

i'm the same this is my favourite addon:love it..
I 've just up graded to 15.1 and had the same problem no pop_text_edit_php in the latest version so did what another poster done and added the pop_text_edit from 2.05......................
But in the admin area the it seems to work the pop up text screen appears and you can type whatever and save ....but when you go and look in the online store to check the changes, they are not being saved this is only happening in the pop_text area....when I change the price etc this works sweet...
any ideas anyone on how to fix this??

I see when a client who is on the wholesale pricing checks out, the system messes up the tax completely
It show on the invoice zero tax (but tax is set on 14%) then even though it shows zero tax it adds the tax to the product price BUT in the final breakdown only shows tax on the shipment and not the product. But the grand total is correct with tax added.
If I log in with a user who is on the normal pricing then it calculates and displays everything correctly.
I use Zen 1.5.1 and Dual Pricing 2.1

When I add stock it doesn't change the stock values on the products any suggestions?
I installed this on ZC 1.51. The directions to uninstall were not in the readme file. I tried to remove it using the link on the right side but it failed to uninstall. If I just go through and remove the files that were initially put in there, will that work to uninstall it or will that break things?

Quick Updates v2.06a
I am using ZenCart 1.5 and have installed Quick Updates and it is working just fine EXCEPT... the description column is so long it is forcing my other columns off the screen and require scrolling, then I can't see the item information. Is there a way to hide the description column or limit the number of spaces that displays?

Now a problem of mine...

If i select a specific category (and this errore happen just with this one) and i try to update anything i got a wonderful:
The funniest thing is that i ge NO error log!!! Nothing! So i really don't have any hint. To make thing worst, the same exact shop with the same exact database in local server WORKS fine!:frusty:Quote:

Quick Updates v2.06
I have v. 2.06a installed on zc1.5 and it used to work fine. The only thing I have changed recently was turning on ssl in the admin so I could accept credit cards through aim. When I try to update a product it takes me to the admin log in screen so needless to say I cannot use quick updates. I have even reinstalled the php files in case they got corrupted but to no avail. Has anyone had this problem and is there a workaround?

One thing I haven't figured out though is why the product description does not display consistently.. It displays for some products, but not others..

So can someone kindly explain to me what the "commercial margin" feature is or what it is supposed to "do".
The help tip when I hover over the information icon in the UI shows this tip:
"Modify by commercial margin, if you check this box, your products will be stroked at the rates given. To stroke to 25%, means that the price is marked up of 33%"
The readme cryptically states:
"3) To make the products_purchase_price and margin feature work "products_purchase_price" (i.e. DECIMAL 15,4) and "products_margin" (i.e. DECIMAL 15,2) need to be added to your products tabel."
What EXACTLY does this all mean?? What is the purpose of this feature??

After all of this I had something more esthetically pleasing for my client.. However along the way I discovered a few things that need addressing with this module that I can't address/fix (above my skill level to fix)
- The popup edit feature is nice, but possibly over engineered.. - The back button on the product preview page SHOULD return you back to the Quick Updates product list.. Instead you are returned to the catalog product list..
Anyway if the community is interested, I'm happy to share my changes as an update to this module.. The admin settings certainly are clearer and the interface works/looks MUCH better.. Let me know if there is interest and I'll bundle up the changes and submit as an update..

There is also code which appears to support wholesale pricing fields and NO WHERE in the readme is this functionality explained.

haven't been on the forum for a while but I read you've made some cool changes to the quick updates mod in the meantime, bravo! I have the v2.06 version installed on my 1.5.1 zencart and it has always worked kind of ok as is, except it would be great if I could just add an extra field for the "Products Expected" date to the mod... is this possible on v2.06, and if so, how would I go about adding this field? Or have you by any chance implemented this feature already in the changes you recently made? It's quite time consuming having to change the expected date for each product every couple of days... and I've searched the forum for a solution, but to no avail unfortunately. Thanks, and keep up the excellent work!

I am not sure why you can't get v2.07 to work.. I have it working fine on the test store I installed this on.. It's a Zen Cart v1.5.1 store so that may be the issue for you if you are using v1.5.3. That said I did make some clean-up changes to the file in Github repo to make it clear that several original module files have been rendered obsolete.. (changes/updates to definition files, but mostly removing all of the files that supported that silly pop-up edit crap) So you might want to take another looksee..

1. Uninstall 2.07 using the 'Uninstall' button in admin (ofc backup first....)
2. delete the 2 files mentioned above
3. upload the 2.08 file set (ofc rename the admin folder first....)
4. log into admin again etc etc
And, if needed, use the included uninstall.sql to remove 2.08 ??
