Just did a quick test on 1.5.0 beta, and the Price List itself seems to work fine, but the configuration pages will have to be registered.

Re: Printable Price list :: support thread
For now an update for 1.5.0 is attached to this post (file may be removed if the pricelist add on is updated).
The zip contains an English language file which needs to be added to your admin (edit & copy if you are using other languages), and an sql file to enable admin page registration (use Admin - Tools Install SQL Patches to install).

The added file won't make any difference. The mysql will throw an error. Would only use it on 1.5

Re: Printable Price list :: support thread
Just tried to install in V1.5 and the sql install came up with thuis error
SQL query:
INSERT INTO admin_pages( page_key, language_key, main_page, page_params, menu_key, display_on_menu, sort_order )
VALUES (
'configPriceList', 'BOX_CONFIGURATION_PRICELIST', 'FILENAME_CONFIGURATION', CONCAT( 'gID=', @pricelistid ) , 'configuration', 'Y', @pricelistid
);
MySQL said:

Re: Printable Price list :: support thread
Did you copy and paste the sql or use the file upload?
-
Re: Printable Price list :: support thread
I tried copy and paste
I tried upload
and i tried to install it in PHP admin
In copy and paste and in upload i get a blank screen right away
In PHP admin i get the error message and no tables or values have been installed in the db
-
Re: Printable Price list :: support thread
Using PHP MyAdmin the db prefix (if any) will be missing, also I don't test on PHP MyAdmin.
The upload feature of the sql tool is buggy (or it was when I last tried it, which is years ago...).
The copy and paste feature of the sql tool should work though. Does it work on other sql updates?
-
Re: Printable Price list :: support thread
So far every other mod that i installed that was V1.5 compatible has been succesful regardless of whether i used upload, copy and paste or php, as a matter of fact i just installed the fual_slimbox.v0.1.5 without a hitch, i used php admin and for curiousity sake i uninstalled it and did a copy and paste and an upload and they were both succesful.
-
Re: Printable Price list :: support thread
In that case, the only thing I can think of as a cause for the error message is that the Pricelist add on was not installed prior to the update.

Anybody ever try adding a sort by: option. Everything supplied by my distributor is sorted by manufacturer and I cross-reference using printable pricelist ona regualr basis.
Unless someone has another method I'd really need to tweak this mod to sor the list in more ways.
Any suggestions are greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Can you give me some tips as to what I may have missed?

I hope this can be improved an inserted into this mod because its pointless having a price list without attributes!
I really need to be able to get this working with attribute pricing... I tried this header.php and it didn't change anything. This mod would be so perfect if it showed the attribute prices, too. :(

Re: Printable Price list :: support thread
I really need to create a list of all products sorted by manufacturer that includes to the product, sku/model, price.
I've been exporting the db table _product(and a few others) and a few others to merge them but it takes me over an hour each time. I need this list to compare with my distributors list ever month. Perhaps if this isn't feasible someone could assist me in a sql query that would alleviate the merging afterwards?
The tables I need are:
products_name,manufacturer_name,products_SKU,products_price

Re: Printable Price list :: support thread
I have loaded this addon into my 1.50 version of my website. I had it working fine in 1.3.9.
My problem is the menu options do not appear on the configuration menu. I copy and pasted the sql as instructed (a couple of times) but they will not appear. The pricelist will display using http://www.thehorsestall.com.au/stor...page=pricelist but I can not change the profile etc.
What am I doing wrong?

I thought they would have been included with the add-on files as it says it is for version 1.50??

I don't know if anyone else has done this (as this thread is rather long to go through all of them to look for it) but I added the following code to tpl_main_page to have a "print" button.

Works like a charm.

As previously stated, there is no confirmation about this. That took longer than 5 seconds and waasted a great deal of time.
In short, no there isn't. And no way to create any kind of product catalog or printable version of anything you have entered into zencart in the way of products that I can find - which you would have thought was a pretty basic requirement for most people tbh.

I have also noticed that it always supports/shows the wholesale pricing...this is not good unless you are logged in as a wholesaler...should they not reflect retail pricing unless logged in otherwise?
The other issue I have is when not logged in it shows cant view need to be logged in, yet when I do login, it says I cant view and need to logout....Any ideas?Attachment 12641Attachment 12642

Same problem here. Please post a solution if you have one.
When I check the Database it seems to be all there 'configuration' table but I can not see under the Configuration menu. I also tried the 'Configuration' link and still can't see it. (If the admin DHTML menu does not show all the profiles, click on "configuration" at the top to use the alternative menu.)
My tables does not use table prefix.
I can see the Price list page no problem /index.php?main_page=pricelist
This is asking me to login >> /index.php?main_page=pricelist&profile=3

Re: Printable Price list :: support thread
If it's been installed correctly perhaps it was not added to the new admin profiles correctly.
Therefore, you can log in as a Superuser and still see nothing.
I had a similar problem in v1.39h which I assume would happen in v1.51 considering the default admin profile system was changed. Give this a try:
http://www.zen-cart.com/content.php?...e-v1-5-0-admin
I don't have time to test it myself... yet.

Thank you for posting this zip file. I would like to add some basic instructions for new users.
1. unzip the file
2. add the sql file in your admin section under Tools > Install Sql Patches
3, upload the "pricelist" file to the appropriate directory.
Your configuration links should appear.
It worked for me.

Re: Printable Price list :: support thread
So I'm trying to get my medium images to show up in the price list. My mediums are stored in images/medium/*category*. Medium images also have "_MED" after the image name.
For example: thumbnail = /images/category/image.jpg
medium = /images/medium/category/image_MED.jpg
I managed to get the image directory changed to images/medium by changing line 646 of header_php.php to:
Code:
$prodRow .= zen_image(DIR_WS_IMAGES . 'medium/' . $cats[$cat_index][$prod_index]['products_image'], '', PL_IMAGE_PRODUCT_WIDTH, PL_IMAGE_PRODUCT_HEIGHT, 'class="imgPL"');
The code i added is in red.
However now I'm stuck. I'm not sure how to append _MED to the end of 'products_image'. Something is going on with an array there, and i couldnt find its origin. can you tell im no php expert?
If anyone can point me in the right direction, that'd be awesome.
-
Re: Printable Price list :: support thread
From the top of my head I think "DIR_WS_IMAGES . 'medium/' . $cats[$cat_index][$prod_index]['products_image']" outputs the full path to the image including the filename and extension. To change filenames like "image.jpg" to "image_MED.jpg" you could use the PHP pathinfo() function to separate the (path and) filename and it's extension and then concatenate (glue) it all together again with the _MED in between. On the other hand there might be a Zen Cart function that gets the _MED image for you automatically, if that's the case I guess that would be a smarter approach to handle this.

Awesome tip! i got it to work with pathinfo(). I'll post my code below.
This is pretty much my first time coding in php, so if someone can improve this, please do!
I couldn't get the extension function of pathinfo() to work, but since all of my images are .jpg, its not really an issue. When i tried to concatenate the variable i had set up for extensions, it removed "medium/" from my $dir. Im not sure why...
Code:
if(PL_SHOW_IMAGE == 'true'){
//parse out path
$pathparts = pathinfo((DIR_WS_IMAGES . 'medium/' . $cats[$cat_index][$prod_index]['products_image']));
//to vars
$dir = $pathparts['dirname'];
$file = $pathparts['filename'];
//go go power rangers
$prodRow .= zen_image($dir . '/' . $file . '_MED' . '.jpg', '', PL_IMAGE_PRODUCT_WIDTH, PL_IMAGE_PRODUCT_HEIGHT, 'class="imgPL"');
}

Re: Printable Price list :: support thread
One more question, if anyone feels like answering:
I'm trying to get the products_url row from the products_descriptions table to show up in the "manufacturer" box (because the manufacturer field doesnt matter to me in this case)
I think i need to edit this section:
PHP Code:
// get manufacturer_name
$manufacturers_name = array();
if (PL_SHOW_MANUFACTURER == 'true')
{
$sql = "SELECT m.manufacturers_id, m.manufacturers_name FROM " . TABLE_MANUFACTURERS . " m, " . TABLE_PRODUCTS . " p WHERE m.manufacturers_id = p.manufacturers_id";
//$result = mysql_query($sql, $db->link) or die(mysql_error());
$result = $db->Execute($sql);
/*
while ($row = mysql_fetch_array($result)) {
$manufacturers_name[$row['manufacturers_id']] = $row['manufacturers_name'];
}
mysql_free_result($result);
*/
while (!$result->EOF) {
$manufacturers_name[$result->fields['manufacturers_id']] = $result->fields['manufacturers_name'];
$result->MoveNext();
}
And possibly
PHP Code:
if (PL_SHOW_MANUFACTURER == 'true') {
$prodRow .= '<td class="manPL"><div>' . $manufacturers_name[$cats[$cat_index][$prod_index]['manufacturers_id']] . ' </div></td>' . "\n";
}
But im not sure how to go about it. Can anyone point me in the right direction?
-
Re: Printable Price list :: support thread
I would leave the first section alone, and try the following hack on the second:
Quote:
if (PL_SHOW_MANUFACTURER == 'true') {
$prodRow .= '<td class="manPL"><div>' . '<a href="' . zen_href_link(zen_get_info_page($cats[$cat_index][$prod_index]['products_id']), 'products_id=' . $cats[$cat_index][$prod_index]['products_id']) . '"> ' . MORE_INFO_TEXT . '</a>' . ' </div></td>' . "\n";
}
And document the changes...

Thanks for the input again! Im actually looking to display the products_url database field from the database products_description, which actually doesn't contain the URL. We use it to hold our bin numbers for picking certain items in the warehouse.
I couldn't figure out how to get the code to grab a different database field.
-
Re: Printable Price list :: support thread
Does anyone have this up and running on v1.5.3? I've installed everything but am getting this error:
Quote:
PHP Warning: mysql_query(): supplied argument is not a valid MySQL-Link resource in /hsphere/local/.../includes/modules/pages/pricelist/header_php.php on line 185
In trying to fix it I'm finding that the command is a depreciated value but I'm not sure how to update it. Everything I've tried has failed. Any ideas? Thank you.

I that case I misunderstood. You could maybe take a look at the products description code and copy that to the sections you suggested? I would need to look closer into it to say something more specific about this.

I'll try to figure something out!
I've been having issues with this add on though. It'll work for a day or two, but after a change the categories a few times, it stops functioning. When i go to the pricelist page, nothing loads.
To fix it i just run the remove sql queries, then run the install queries again, but its a pain (and it clears all my settings).
Anyone else have this issue?

Re: Printable Price list :: support thread
I've updated this module to v2.0.0, allowing it to operate with Zen Cart v1.5.1+ and later versions of PHP (it'll probably work on v1.5.0, but I haven't tested/validated that). The plugin can be downloaded from the Plugins area: http://www.zen-cart.com/downloads.php?do=file&id=173.
The installation SQL is now an admin-level auto-install script. Many of the plugin's profile settings have been removed, since the plugin now relies on CSS/browser interaction to provide the proper pagination. The innards of the script were re-factored to reduce the possibility of out-of-memory conditions arising on larger stores -- the data for the display is gathered, but the screen output is performed one category/product at a time to lessen the amount of memory required.

Re: Printable Price list :: support thread
Just installed this module and I love it. Thank You! But I have some questions
1. How to change the Sort By: Field feature
basically Sort By: Field have 3 options :
products_name
products_price
products_model
What if I wanna make it sort by products sort order and name ?
Example :
(current sort order for product_name field)
Product name |
Sort Order |
Cloud |
0 |
Fire |
0 |
Stone |
3 |
Water |
2 |
Wind |
1 |
(I want the sort order for product_name field to be like this)
Product name |
Sort Order |
Cloud |
0 |
Fire |
0 |
Wind |
1 |
Water |
2 |
Stone |
3 |
2. How to remove the currency symbol besides the table title ?
3. I have more than 9000 products and when I try to click the print this page link, it always make my browser error. But if I try to print like only 100 products, it works.
4. It takes time to load All Categories and since I have some categories with thousands products in it, can I divided it to be several pages ? Like 200 products per page with previous page and next page link ?
thanks
-
Re: Printable Price list :: support thread
@choppa
1) I'll add the product sort_order to the list of, er, sort orders in the next release.
2) I'll add a configuration "switch" to allow you to control whether/not the currency symbol displays.
3) What is in the myDEBUG*.log file when you get the "browser error"? I'm thinking to add configuration values so that you can control (a) the script's timeout value and (b) the script's maximum memory required.
4) I'll need to think about, since I think that what you're asking is a major change. Any additional details you provide regarding how you'd like it to work would be appreciated.

Re: Printable Price list :: support thread
Hi lat9, BIG thanks for this plugin! I think that's exactly what I need.
A question: I've set images on true and a strange thing occurs with their positions. I've just listed 4 products. On the list 2 display on he left and 2 on the right ... I refresh and 3 on the right and 1 on the left ... and every time I refresh the display change. Check this out here.
Any idea why the positions each time are different?
Note that there's a typo on profile-1.css (it now reads proile-1.css)

Re: Printable Price list :: support thread
Thannaree, I don't know what's up with the "image swap"; I'll look into it shortly.

Having looked at the code, the position change is a "feature" of the plugin, mixing it up so that the images are in a random position (not so cut-and-dried of a display).
You can force the display to be the same for all cases by setting the classes .imgDescrRndPL_1, .imgDescrRndPL_2, .imgDescrRndPL_3 and .imgDescrRndPL_4 to all have the same styling.
I've opened a bug-report regarding the CSS filename on the plugin's github repository; it'll be corrected in the next release.

Re: Printable Price list :: support thread
Thanks for looking into it. Setting the classes on the same side fixed it.
Quote:
.imgDescrRndPL_3 img, .imgDescrRndPL_4 img { float: left; }
.imgDescrRndPL_1 img, .imgDescrRndPL_2 img { float: left; }
Thanks again.

Most excellent! I'm glad that it's now working the way you want.

I found no tpl_pricelist_default.php
Please help.Thanks in advance

Re: Printable Price list :: support thread
That's because there's not a tpl_pricelist_default.php file that's part of the distribution. Are you sure that you uploaded all the pertinent files into the proper directories?

I am also getting this same error / partial blank page on a local 1.5.4 installation when calling http://www.yourdomain.com/index.php?main_page=pricelist in the front end.
Yes, all files have been merged / uploaded as per instructions (and double-checked).
Swapped templates a few times and it is the same result on all templates.

Lines 122, 141 and 249 respectively in includes/templates/TEMPLATE_AS_PER_ABOVE/common/tpl_main_page.php are all calling for
PHP Code:
require($body_code);
Tracing $body_code in DTK, I am ending up at /includes/templates/template_default/common/main_template_vars.php
That reads
PHP Code:
if (file_exists(DIR_WS_MODULES . 'pages/' . $current_page_base . '/main_template_vars.php')) {
$body_code = DIR_WS_MODULES . 'pages/' . $current_page_base . '/main_template_vars.php';
} else {
$body_code = $template->get_template_dir('tpl_' . preg_replace('/.php/', '',$_GET['main_page']) . '_default.php',DIR_WS_TEMPLATE, $current_page_base,'templates'). '/tpl_' . $_GET['main_page'] . '_default.php';
}
and that file
PHP Code:
DIR_WS_MODULES . 'pages/' . $current_page_base . '/main_template_vars.php'
does not exist in the package. Therefore ZC is looking for a corresponding template file and tries to call tpl_pricelist_default.php and that does not exist either, hence the error.
Please correct me if I am wrong.

Re: Printable Price list :: support thread
The pricelist page's processing is similar to the popup-type pages, so the tpl_main_page.php file should be loaded from /includes/templates/template_default/pricelist/tpl_main_page.php ... not from /includes/templates/{current_template}/common/tpl_main_page.php (which is where the tpl_{current_page_base}_default.php file's load is determined).
That determination happens pretty early in a ZC page-load, handled by /index.php's processing. That said, I'm puzzled by the fact that the page-load is going down the "common" directory processing given that the plugin's files have been uploaded to the proper directories.

Re: Printable Price list :: support thread
FWIW, I just installed and ran the plugin in a (relatively) vanilla ZC 1.5.3 installation and it ran without issue. The /index.php file hasn't changed since dinosaurs roamed the earth (or at least back as far as Zen Cart 1.3.5, which is pretty close).
@frank18, has your site's /index.php file been modified in any way? What other plugins/templates do you have installed? Any changes to /includes/classes/template_func.php?

Thanks lat9
Have not tried this mod in ZC versions 1.5.3 and lower, only in 1.5.4
No modification to the /index.php file, it is still the same version

Same with /includes/classes/template_func.php - no changes at all.
What puzzles me is that it happens in all 3 templates (see my post above) including the default.
Plugins (store front only): image handler 4, zen lightbox, minimum order - really nothing that would affect the functionality of this mod.
The store has been around since v1.3.7 (2007) and progressively updated to 1.5.4
I will pop this into another local 1.5.4 site on the weekend and see what happens.

Re: Printable Price list :: support thread
Installed on another 1.5.4 local site and have no problem running this plugin - so somewhere in the other site something has gone astray..... :rant::frusty:
Let's keep digging....

Re: Printable Price list :: support thread
Perhaps something in a .htaccess file?

Nope, but very close: permissions!!!! :oops:
Worked a treat on the live server, but the live server automatically assigns the correct permissions to folders and files (755 and 644) whereas the local dev server didn't hence the partial blank page.

Re: Printable Price list :: support thread
@frank18, thanks for following up! Was it the permissions on the /includes/templates/template_default/pricelist folder that was giving you grief?

Yes, that was the culprit....

Re: Printable Price list :: support thread
Thanks, frank18! I'll add a note to the top of the plugin's readme to suggest that permissions on that newly-added folder might need to be checked. What are your host's default permissions?

Re: Printable Price list :: support thread
I've submitted v2.0.1 to the plugins' area for review:
- BUGFIX: Corrected the name of /includes/templates/template_default/pricelist/profile-1.css (was proile-1.css).
- BUGFIX: Include missing language /extra_definition files.
- CHANGE: Open pricelist in a new window when Information sidebox link is clicked. Changed /includes/modules/sideboxes/YOUR_TEMPLATE/information.php.
- CHANGE: Add configuration switch to enable/disable display of the currency symbol in the pricelist display's header. Changed /YOUR_ADMIN/includes/functions/extra_functions/init_price_list_admin.php and /includes/templates/template_default/pricelist/tpl_main_page.php.
- CHANGE: Added permissions-check notice to the top of this readme.

That problem happened locally (local Linux dev server on my computer) - entirely my fault. Had to tweak some settings so it does not bugger me again.
On the live server it worked instantly as permissions are automatically assigned to 755 (folders) and 644 (files).

LOL, noticed that and changed it before I installed it.

Re: Printable Price list :: support thread
v2.0.1 is now available from the Zen Cart plugins.

Re: Printable Price list :: support thread
I installed this 2.0.1 version, but I've come to discover that all the functionality for columns has beens stripped out from the older version. With 3k products between the linked categories, having 2+ columns is a bit of a requirement to not use an entire tree if someone wants to print this.
Is there a somewhat easy way to put this back in? I don't really want to spend hours learning what this code is doing, then recode to put in columns.

Re: Printable Price list :: support thread
I've noted your request in the plugin's GitHub repository (https://github.com/lat9/printable_price_list/issues/7).
