Hoping someone can help. I would like to copy the login/register button so I can put my bookmark us link inside it. I know that its something to do with the stylesheet but don't know which bits to copy to create another button.

You can add you background image in the stylesheet.css

locate the #logoWrapper declaration and add you background image.

the comstock template doesn't modify/change the bestseller sidebox.

However take a look through this thread I believe there is something about it.

So .. I see - it is not your foult
But I have white wrap on bestseller box and another users too.

Now one way to hide white wrap is change this line

There is something on those 5 pages that is pushing the header down approx 10px. I've looked at the source for the page but couldn't identify what that might be.

So at this point I can't provide a real good answer.

Hi, got Zen Cart 1.3.8, latest Comstock. I've replaced the background with a tiled image but only the top half of the template shows the background. The bottom is white. Any ideas?

The comstock template modifies the product info page.

just delete the following:

I've just installed Comstock and want to straighten out the logo and the tagline. The only changes made to the default stylesheet were the background colors for the #logowrapper and #navaccountwrapper declarations and the height adjustment for the tagline in the #taglinewrapper declaration. The logo px size has been changed in header.php to reflect the size of the logo.

I have adjusted the #taglinewrapper to the following to move the tagline to the left and down:

I've viewed the site in FF, IE7/8, Safari, Opera and Chrome and couldn't see what you describe.

I'm using IE8. When clicking on any product to see details, price, etc. (product page) I see what I described in the attachment above. The Add to Cart is not above or below the description but on top of the description (text). There may be some issues with my laptop/resolution where nobody else may see what I see.
I have opted to use Comstock after having some issues with another template so have selected Comstock from the admin (and also doing the reset). However, I'm thinking there may be some conflicts so I will be rebuilding my store and using Comstock exclusively. That may eliminate the problem.
As to the logo issue I had your fix worked fine and drop the logo down in the header where I needed it. Thanks for that!

The comstock template does not alter the bestseller sidebox in any way.

I believe this issue is in how the default bestseller sidebox is setup/designed.

So does that mean we are stuck with having a white line under Bestsellers?

Since this thread is for supporting the comstock template, posting a solution for the bestseller sidebox here might not get read unless someone is using the template.

A better option would be to start a new thread specifically for the bestseller sidebox.

BTW - a search of the forum for "bestseller sidebox" comes up with 24 posts.

Hi everyone,
I'm a new user of zencart. Just installed the comstock. I love it. However, the webpage layout doesn't look like right, on the top of the home page, The "shopping cart" is located at the second line, which is supposed to be nexted to "my account", and messed up with the dates display, also, the top solid lines are broken by the center frame.

I would like to know if any guru could help. Please look at my site: www.srtimports.com.

make sure you are looking in

includes/languages/comstock/english.php

check admin -> tools -> ez-pages and make sure you have green buttons displaying.

Hi I am using v1.3.9c and I wanted to know how to backup my EZ-pages? The reason is because I downloaded the Comstock template update v3.0 and it says that to update all you have to do is:

UPGRADE:

Unzip the Package

open the upgrade folder and upload the entire includes folder to your server.

The upgrade will not overwrite any changes you have made to your main page, stylesheet.css, buttons or images.

Open your site in your browser and view the new template in action.

Well it did over ride all of my EZ-pages that I spent days on! Fortunately I made a backup of my includes folder so I just ftp'd the folder to correct the error. I would like to update the template but I need to know how to backup all of my EZ-pages. Thank you for the help

EZ-pages are stored in your database and therefore are not affected by the template in any way

Hi Clyde,

I was trying to use the Mystic River Template but have switched over to Comstock due to a more streamlined stylesheet and more than typical mods we wanted to do. However, I am having the same problem on Comstock.

See this link to a product page. Notice how the description area "bleeds" into the image. I know we can move the description area over but then it becomes a narrow column that is not very pleasing to the eye.

Is there a way to keep the "wideness" of the product page without it bleeding into the image?

When going to a products from categories link, next, listing, and previous buttons appear as normal.

But when going to the same product from New Products, All Products, or even type the item number in the Search box, produces no buttons. But it is intermittent. Sometimes they appear, and sometimes not.

Here are the links with the buttons and without. Also the Cpath number is different on the URL. Thanks!

To be honest, I'm not sure, but I believe it has something to do with how you've set up your categories and products.

these settings are controlled in

admin -> configuration -> Maximum Values

AND

admin -> configuration -> layout settings

I am a BRAND new guy here. Have been using OSC for a couple of years and am in the process of moving to Zen. Love the template but I am definitely NOT the worlds most intelligent working or even trying to find things to change in CSS.

Our site is, well, kind of tweaked a bit. Some of our categories are quite long so I changed the Column Width for the left boxes to 198 and the Column Width Left to 200. Well, now the background is all weird.

If you get time would you mind taking a look at the "work in progress" and try to point me in the right direction here please? The site is located at http://wholesale.redevildistributing.com

But I really do hate to repeat myself when the answer(s) have already been posted.

You'll need to adjust the width and height of the graphic images used for the sideboxes

and second the height of your header needs to be adjusted to pull everything up.

Clyde, please tell me how to INCREASE # of columns.
It is not clear the max values or layout settings.

I want 4 columns across.

are you logging into yourzen cart admin panel?

as I said, if its not showing up then you have a problem somewhere in the installation of your zen cart admin files.

and this would then not be a template specific problem.

Bottom of left-hand column, there's a sidebox labeled "more information." My "About Us" and "Where to Buy Sara's Soaps 'n Such Products" links come to... nada. When I click on them, I get "page 2" and "page 4," but no dialogue. However, in my admin section, I've gone to admin -> tools -> define pages editor and written in the script for these pages (and saved it, too, of course). Donal suggested it's a cookies issue, but I've cleaned out my cache, temp internet files and cookies, to no avail. Also, when I click on the link for wholesale and private label information, the dialogue for that is there, but it's cut off my email address with its link.

Help! I'm planning on launching a new product line with its own unique site, but want to have this one fully functioning first. Thanks!

Are those files writable in includes/languages/english/html_inlcudes/comstock/

Went there, did that. No love. I'd like to get rid of the "page 2," "page 3" and "page 4" headers, too. Anyway, first problem first. While my (new & improved) dialogue on page 3 - wholesale and private label is showing up, the other two aren't, yet there is stuff there. Let me try a screen shot.

have you tried to manually edit those pages using something like notepad ++ and then uploading/FTPing them to the server?

I have seen this asked several times in this thread but I cant seem to find an answer. My cart is here: http://www.aclassactapparel.com/ The Bestsellers Box has a broken line going around it &/or a white line running across it. I also believe this same condition shows up in the Quick Re-Order Box. I cant seem to find a fix anywhere. Does anyone have any fixes for this problem?

Ok I tried what maxus said in post #512 and that worked for the Bestsellers Box found in the file tpl_best_sellers.php But I still cant seem to find how to fix the Quick Re-Order Box. This file doesn't have the div class="wrapper" tag so I don't know what to edit in the file tpl_order_history.php

The edit for the Bestsellers box effectively removed the broken line or white line across the box but in doing so the insertion of <br> created a line break now... Still not 100% fix but better than being broken...

It seems to me that the product_reviews_write.php, product_reviews.php, product_reviews_info.php do not have page specific CSS. I am wondering if anyone knows CSS well enough to help out? My Review pages need some help with the Text and line spacing. The text seems to be all crammed together and I am not sure how to specify elements and target them for CSS. I know about the main stylesheet.css but I dont know how to go about correcting the text issues. Can anyone shed some light on this?

The problem with the breadcrumb is that it has no height.

open the stylesheet.css find the following and adjust the height element:

#navBreadCrumb {
margin: 0 auto;
padding: .5em 0 .5em 2px;
font-size: 1em;
font-weight: bold;
color: #000;
height: 0px
}


In which browser is this "pop-up" happening?

I've checked your site in FF, IE8, Opera, Safari and Chrome
and didn't notice anything.

Thanks! Set px at 10 and now nav crumb is showing (although our colors aren't best for the dark background).

By pop-up I meant that it normally did not show when set at "0", but if you moved cursor near where it would be it would kind of "pop-up"; I think because of the text color change when cursor is placed on it, made top of link easier to see.

Hey Clyde I did what you said and all is well except that I noticed one page may not have been included in your suggestion. Its the page that opens when you choose to create a review for a product. Do you know what the additional info would be that I need to add to my CSS Stylesheet? This create a review page has all the text crammed together also. Thank you for all your help

I just noticed that "Read The Reviews" page also has the text issue...
