Re: Easy Populate support
Best thing to do is to add a product of your own with all the details, then download an EP file.
Remember, you must have the category structure in place before you upload product data - well, you don't HAVE to, but you won't see the categories/products if you don't. :wink2:
Re: Easy Populate support
I will do that. Thanks.

Ryk,
Just an FYI...
I am using the easy populate and I have added products with Categories in Excel and saved as tab delimented txt that haven't been added into the system prior and it will create the categories and will allow you to see both Categories as well as Products. Providing you have a Master Category preset.
Example:
I have Nascar as the Master and then Driver Sub Cat's off of Nascar and when adding items via Excel if I don't have a category already listed in ZenCart I can just add a driver name in for a Category in Excel and it will automatically create the category once you upload the full ep file.
Again Just an FYI.
Re: Easy Populate support
Thanks, that will help. Does anyone have a sample file I could look at to get a feel for what I'm in for when I start uploading? I'm currently waiting for my domain to be transferred.
Thanks,
Scott

[QUOTE=yellowdaises;336325]Ok I am NOT a happy camper, LOL.
I just spent every bit of 3 hours adding 87 items to excel, saved the file as text file required. I then went into the admin section and hit browse for upload. Went to the file and then clicked "Insert into Db". It showed the files as being uploaded and once completed I went to the test site and NOTHING is showing.
I had 3 items already in the db prior to doing this and they are the only 3 showing.
At the bottom of the upload I got this message and I am NOT sure if it is the reason why nothing is showing.

Just as a bit of extra info, I have found that if you have any apostrophes without a / in front of them like /' so in your item titles or description, you also get this problem, so just check for that.

Re: Easy Populate support
i need to add the following fields to the upload file and i'll be in seventh heaven:
product quantity minimum
product quantity units
i did a search and saw a post from june 2006 that said this would be added soon to easy populate. i have tried to add the fields but they did not show up when i uploaded the file. everything else did so i know the upload was successful.
here's the field names i added
v_products_quantity_order_min
v_products_quantity_order_units
are these the correct file names?
i have the standard version. does this make a difference?
am using ZC 1.3.7
thanks
Re: Easy Populate support
You need to look at the advance version of EP as the standard version will not do this but I am not sure if it does the fields you are asking for?

This is true...that's how I did it (I said this back a few pages ago, but it got lost in the thread :sleepy:).
Re: Easy Populate support
I learn something every day!
And that definitely works with the free version?
