Re: Image Handler 3 Support Thread
Many people have experienced the problem of the Required field not working in setting Attributes, a fix was found for IH2 but apparently doesn't work for IH3. Any ideas on how to fix this for IH3 yet? Thanks.

Image Handler doesn't have anything to do with attributes, attribute images, or required attribute settings....so I'm not sure what you're referring to here when you say "a fix was found for IH2".

Given that IH3's codebase was IH2, any fixes that were a part of IH2 would have been carried over to IH3..
However this is a moot point because as ScriptJunkie has pointed out Image Handler doesn't have anything to do with attributes, attribute images, or required attribute settings..

After installing the image handler I found that all of a sudden the subcategories page was truncated after the category description. As I had also installed another mod right before that and was working on a site that was new to me, I spent forever trying to track down the problem. I had seen this happen before when a product got corrupted (I thought) but couldn't track it to a specific product.
I finally found out that one of the subcategory icons was a very large png file and that was the reason why the page stopped.
So take a note - if an image is too large for the mod or server or whatever to handle, it will create missing parts of pages. There's no error messages anywhere and it may feel random.
I hope this saves someone the hours I wasted yesterday!
Without a link to see the issue (that has since been resolved), it's hard to know with certainty what you're describing here. Even though you've resolved your issue, it's important for future readers of this thread to understand what you may have been experiencing, so I'm going to address two common user errors that can create what I think you may be describing.
IH3 is not a page layout mod, so it doesn't affect page layout - however, IH3 settings can definitely affect page appearance.
If your sub-cat icon image is displaying so large that page appearance is not what it should be, then your IH3 image size settings need to be adjusted to a smaller setting.
On the other hand, if the issue you're experiencing is that your sub-cat icon image is displaying so large that the page stops loading (even though your IH3 settings are correct and appropriate) - then you need to use a smaller image. This problem has nothing to do with Image Handler, it's to do with your server and the timeout settings.
In either case, both of these problems are addressed in the Read_Me documentation and have been discussed at length in this thread. They are not IH3 issues, they are user created problems that often stem from the user not correctly configuring and/or using IH3....which usually stems from not reading the Read_Me and following the directions therein.
At any rate, I'm glad you were able to resolve your issue and get your site working like it should.
Good luck and happy Zenning

Also, Zen Cart may always have one problem or another as long as it is hosted at GoDaddy.:
So where creat zen cart into witch server hosting then it will work fine??
because i just bought 3years hosting server in godaddy.but now i found too many problem with my site as have too many image cache (more than 1024 files in per folders, then godaddy will close hosting),the site display 500 error in most times, the site run slowly(very very slowly,it will cost you 15-30s to open full),etc.
So maybe i really need to change hosting, please list some cheap and fast hosting for me.

not cheap but reliable and have some packages that maybe you can handle:
Hostdime.com -- I have used before
Lunar Pages
Bluehost
Hostgator -- I use now
Re: Image Handler 3 Support Thread
Just remember that cheap and fast are not likely to go together.
Don't forget there are recommended hosts for Zen Cart - see the hosting link above. Those three are there for a reason. I'm not sure the connection between hostmonster and bluehost but the backends are identical and they are both in Utah. Bluehost has absolutely super support and is always my first choice. I was working on hostmonster yesterday and the server seemed to be good.
Geekhost has pci compliant servers and is staffed by Zen Cart experienced folks. They aren't cheap but remember always - you get what you pay for and most likely that means Geekhost has super servers for Zen Cart.

So once again at the risk of being accused of being the forum police, I will respectfully ask that you post a seperate question in the forum to discuss webhosts.. The IH3 support thread is NOT the place for this discussion as it's NOT an IH3 support issue...
Re: Image Handler 3 Support Thread
I may have a problem, but I thought just asking a simple question would determine whether or not things were correct or if I need to begin troubleshooting...
IH3 works fine under the TOOLS menu.
Is it also supposed to be integrated into the CATALOG / Categories / Products like Attributes, Meta Tags, etc?
It was there in IH2, but it isn't there in IH3... and that is either by design or because of a problem (if the latter I will gladly post a lot more detail).

unsure of what you mean...IH3 works just like IH previous version...you set it for hover image if you want, , you upload images thru tools admin or upload to server.
also a link is good to see if your store is misbehaving
