Re: Image Handler 2 Support
Hi,
I am really hoping someone out there can help.
I tried to install IH2 on another sitebut couldnt get it to work, assuming it is something I have done I thought it best to try a fresh install on a new site.
www.shopforcostumes.co.uk
So I have done a fresh install of zencart, added template, then installed IH2.
On the test data that loaded, all looked ok. Images displayed, zoomed on hover etc.
I though excellent, it works, past problems must have been my own doing.
So I then deleted all products and loaded my own test files and images.
I used the apsona shop admin to load files and think that is ok.
simply loaded images into the images directory and gave that location on the file upload.
Now the problems started. I am not seeing any images anywhere.
I've only loaded 4 images and about a dozen products (most referring to the same image).
When I switch IH2 off, all images are displayed. Then I swith it back on and nothing.
As it shows as expected when IH2 is switched off then my images must be in the right loaction.
When IH2 switched on , If I look at the script for a page the images are being taken from the bmz_cache folder and they are there.
I have searched and searched. I am now really confused, tired, and imagine its a really simple thing but I cant for the life of me see what is wrong.
Please help !
Thanks

Um when i try to view one of the images created by imagehandler I get a 500 Server error
http://shopforcostumes.co.uk/bmz_cac...ge.100x104.jpg
That means something is configured wrong,
if the image is there it should show up
if the image isn't there it should be a 404 error,
what are the permissions on the folders set to?
You say images are being written to that folder, can you access them directly like the above
What size are your product images? the ones you uploaded, as in the filesize files over 1mb can cause issues
as there are "500" errors being generated, are there any debug files in the /cache folder on your site
-
Re: Image Handler 2 Support
There are folder name errors in the readme file, and two folders are referred to as files. Maybe that has something to do with it.

If there are errors, it helps to tell us what they are

Re: Image Handler 2 Support
I'm struggling with this Rev 8d version too. The readme.html file purports to be for the "8d" version, but it soon reads "this new Rev 8c version" and "...BEFORE applying the new Image Handler2 for 1.3.x Rev 8c files to your store". Later we are told "...BEFORE you install the Rev 8c files..." and "If you followed these instructions to the letter, you are ready to begin using Image Handler2 for 1.3.x Rev 8c."
I thought I was about to install version 8d.
If you are applying a new version, surely the files included are ALL that version's - even if the majority of them are the same as the previous version. It makes it very hard to follow.
If we downloaded the "8c" version from overthehill.web, we don't need to upgrade except for a single file.
Well, OK. The "8d" version upgrades a single file from the "8c" version.
I am upgrading from "8b" to "8d", so it makes constant references to "8c" all the more confusing (except as history references).
The file and folder error references are in the Changelog:
Quote:
(Rev 8b) The following files were deleted from the install package (they are now obsolete)
images/zoom.png
images/medium/zoom_MED.png
images/large/zoom_LRG.png
includes/template/default_template
includes/template/classic (if you are using the "Classic" template simply rename the YOUR_TEMPLATE folder as per the install instructions below)
The last two are folders, not files.
...and in the Upgrade instructions:
Quote:
includes/template/classic
There is no folder /template/ as far as I can see.
Anyway, I had version 8b working well, but version "8d" (or "c" or whatever it thinks it is) has IH2 searching for large image files with an extension _LRG in the zencart/images/large/ folder. They aren't there.
Probably something stupid I have done, but the readme.html file doesn't exactly hold your hand.

Thanks Nigel - I "think" the issue was with the htaccess file.
If removed it worked.
I couldnt see anything wrong with the file. But read that this was meant to be a copy from the images folder.
So copied that across and hey presto.
Now the only difference between the 2 files is that the htacess file in the IH zip file has an additional line on line 33 where is says "Options - Indexes", the file I have now doesnt have this but is identical otherwise.
I'm hoping that it will now be okay and the absence of this one line isnt going to cause a major problem - at least it now looks to be working.
-
Re: Image Handler 2 Support
According to the readme file, you need both the .htacess and .keep files in the bmz_cache folder. I had to manually ftp them.

Re: Image Handler 2 Support
I uploaded the IH2, and followed the installation procedure, it did not show in the admin>Tools to complete the installation.
Do I need to upload the Imagemajick into my core website for IH2 to work?
Thanks for your help

if you uploaded all the fiels to the right place--including the ones in the admin folder then it should show up under tools in admin
take a look again to make sure they are there on your server
a link to your site would be helpful too

It IS a copy form the default Zen Cart images folder..
Removing the options directive won't be a big issue.. your hosting company apparently doesn't allow you to use OPTIONS in your .htaccess file. This directive an additional layer of protection, but there are a few hosting companies that do not allow it's use..

Do you have any other alterations as it is NOT just the / at the end of the bmz_cache file that is missing, all the slashes are missing,
this is the generated url you show above
this is what it should be (notr the 2 slashes that are missing from the above)
you don't have any rewriting mods etc in your .htaccess
If i didn't know better, i'd say that some sort of stripslashes replacement was running on your link.
Can we get a link to the test version that doesn't have lightbox running on it (you did install lightbox after IH? as lightbox includes code to allow them to work together)
I too have this problem, and they told me that is not a problem but HI2 or htaccess file or configure file, you may have a problem with some php.ini configuration file with wrong

Any suggestions for what software to use to make some Watermarks for my pics.
If anyone knows of some decent shareware that will do the job, that would be even better.

GIMP is your best option when it comes to free image editing software.

Impressive, but more than I can use right now. It would take me way to long to learn how to use it. I bookmarked the page though....Thanks!!
I'm kind of running out of time and will probably have to pay someone to make a couple for me.

depending on what you want for your watermark---many just put their store name...mine--see link in signature is made by me
I could make some for you, pm me
they are not hard to make

I have mine going into the main store's images folder then a subfolder called promos whichis in turn subfoldered according to vendor...this has helped with similar naming and keeps them sorted by vendor for if something should happen or an image needs replacing.
just try to remember to add a - or _ in place of a space in the naming process of the images, IH2 will take care of the rest after you upload the main image, it will rename the additional ones accordingly

The "images" folder is the usual spot for product and category images in Zen Cart.. Meaning that however you decide to organize your images they must get loaded in the "images" folder. Avoid using spaces or special characters in your image names (all discussed in the IH2 README file). I prefer using alternating caps versus "-" (dashes) or "_" (underscores) in my files names where ever possible. For example: blueOrchidsLarge.png
After that it's up to YOU how you wish to organize your images..
So if you want to put all of your images into the "images" folder as so:
images/image.jpg
or
if you want to segregate your images into a sub-folder (organized any way YOU want) as so:
images/sub-folder/image.png
So if you decide that you will have one folder for each product category or one folder for each product those folders should go into your IMAGES folder..
BTW, if you decided to do something outside of the Zen Cart norms, IH2 doesn't really care how you organize your images because it will be looking for the image you explicitly linked to the product or category.. (In general this is usually in the "images" folder, but in theory with Zen Cart, the product and category images can be in ANY FOLDER within your site if you decide to set it up that way)
As has been repeated MANY TIMES in this support thread, you will upload your LARGEST image to your image folder and IH2 takes care of creating the medium and small images for you.

Trying to study-up on Excel now so I can add the sub-folder names to the image names without screwing everything up.

why??? am i not understanding this right...you are going to add the subfolder name to the image?
just have the subfolder in the images folder then name your image however you want image.jpg, roses.jpg then use it that way just make sure you tell ih2 what spot to plop it into
in the ih2 area just above where you hit to browse for your image is where you put the path to the folder
choose new file
main directory in drop down menu then write the path in the area under that -- like
promos/the name of the subfolder/
browse for the image
click save
it should put it into the subfolder you designate

Re: Image Handler 2 Support
I believe he is using Excel because he is using a module like EZ Populate or Apsona to upload his products and categories.. In these modules, I believe that you have to explicitly list the path to your product images if they are in a subfolder of the "images" folder.. (Otherwise you simply enter the name of the file and the modules "assumes" the file can be found inthe "images" folder)
He won't need to do ANYTHING in the IH2 admin if he already has uploaded his images and image folders.. Once he "installs" IH2, configures his image settings, FTPs his images, and then uploads his product and categories via EZ Populate, he's DONE...

Re: Image Handler 2 Support
Click here to see one of my products...
My question is, When you hover the attribute image comes up in a little white box... I was wondering is it possible to do so that when you hover the attribute 'large' image comes up? Just a small version, and if they want to enlarge, then click it as usual.
Here's a image example:

I do believe this hover is done by IH isn't it? (even for the attribute images)
perhaps it could be considered to make an admin switch with default and/or large image hover to be selected at will since this seem to be one of the returning questions on this module.

IH2 does not manage attribute images..
However after having more than a second to look at this, I see that in the example provided by dddmx3 the images shown in his screen shot are not attribute images, they are in fact product images.. (the additional product images to be exact)
To get the larger image to show up in the hover requires that a larger image be used in the first place..
In his example it appears that there is one image file being used for the small image another image file being used as the medium image, and yet another image is being used as the large image file..
Most IH2 users upload the largest image and IH2 takes care of rendering the small and medium images.. However, if dddmx3 has explicitly chosen these images in the IH2 interface then it might explain why the hover image is the EXACT same image as the smaller thumbnail. (it's possible that the exact same image was uploaded as the thumbnail and the product image)

My understanding of the issue that has always been on the table for making the large versus the medium images display in the hover has always been lightbox compatibility issues. That's why when the "Optional Edits" folder (which was supposed to add this ability) was added to IH2 many versions ago it was quickly removed from the fileset.. Too many people using those optional Edits found their lightboxes stopped working..
Doesn't mean it's not doable, it just means that no one has taken the time needed to examine how to offer the ability for choosing large vs medium images in the hover AND still be compatible with the popular lightbox modules.
However there has been a TON of posted fixes for adding this functionality.. Most of it seems to not work with lightbox contribs though..

So your saying its not possible? :shocking:

Not sure I understand your question..
Honest to goodness I'm really not entirely sure what the issue is you are having or if it's even an IH2 issue at all.. Your site is working in a way that IH2 doesn't do out the box with regards to the display and management of your additional product images..
Here's how IH2 works. You upload the LARGEST image when you create your product, and IH2 takes care of creating the small and medium images needed from this one image file.
In the IH2 readme I took the time to explain the various image sizes from the Image settings in the Zen Cart admin and how they map to the various pages in Zen Cart. Please review this..
Simply put here how it maps out:
Thumbnails are your "small" images
The product image (the one that appears on the product detail page) is the "medium" image
The "large" image is the one that appears when you click on the "larger image" link from the product detail page
The hover feature in IH2 has ALWAYS ONLY shown the "medium" image.
See sample links of IH2 in action here:
Product Detail page: http:// zentestcart . overthehillweb . com/Test_Category/Nonummy_Iusto_Laoreet
Product List page: http:// zentestcart . overthehillweb . com/Test_Category
Looking at your site it appears that all of your additional images have the SAME IMAGE being used as the small and medium image. Which either means that you EXPLICITLY chose this image as your product's medium images or you've got some other modification that makes this behavior happen. Your LARGE image is a different image altogether which again gives me the impression that you EXPLICITLY chose this image for the large product image.. NONE of this is default IH2 behavior..
So without knowing what other mods you've made to your sight or knowing HOW you uploaded these images in this manner I can't say WHAT the issue is or how to correct it.. and it's starting to feel like this may NOT be an IH2 issue at all..
-
Re: Image Handler 2 Support
One last thing.. (and I've spent more time on this than I really have time for) I looked over some of your past posts.. You have a different image setup than what IH2 does default out the box.. Which is why your additional images are setup the way they are.. It's not that IH2 can't manage your images, but your use of product images is outside the general IH2 usage of uploading ONE image and letting IH2 create the other required images..
That said, if what you are wanting is for the large image to display on hover (versus the medium image which is the IH2 default) try this link:
http://www.zen-cart.com/forum/showpo...postcount=6110

So I am asking you two a question..
Riddle me this.. One of the stumbling blocks for adding the ability for the large image to display instead of the medium image on the small image hover has been lightbox compatibility..
After thinking about what nagelkruid posted earlier and looking at Nigel's solution, it occurred to me that if I were to use THIS solution and make this an admin configurable option, I can't see how there would be a lightbox conflict.. Am I wrong or is this possibly doable?? I am LEARY because previous attempts to add this to the IH2 codebase led to all kinds of issues.. (and I'm NOT a PHP coder..)
PHP Code:
if Use_Medium_Image = True
$zoom_sizetype = ($this->sizetype=='small')?'medium':'large';
else
$zoom_sizetype = ($this->sizetype=='small')?'large':'medium';
Yeah yeah yeah I know there's brackets missing and some other syntaxy stuff.. but will this work??

Re: Image Handler 2 Support
Not sure if there's a cure for this one. I've got a few products on my site that do not have a picture associated with them but the usual "no image gig doesn't come up for these.

Also, I've selected "YES" for adding the watermark to my large images, but it's not showing up. What did I miss?

1) How where the images added, don't quote me but zencart should automatically put the no image in, I think if you use a bulk upload EZ populate it skips it, you should just be able to open the products listing and select no image and it should work, have you set the noimage on in the image options?
2) have you uploaded a watermark file? and cleared your image handler cache
3) Fix your buttons, they have ugly white bits around them, there is a button construction kit in the downloads that creates buttons at the click of a button with the correct background see it here

default behaviour, (which is applicable for the majority) is best left in the else so i think its better to turn it around. ie:
1. make the admin switch named something like "use large images for popup? --> yes/no
2. code if ENABLE_LARGE_POPUP == true {
($this->sizetype=='small')?'large':'medium';}
else
the original code.
i can write this block for you if you want to test & integrate

I know how to write it, and I know it will work.. (wrote a ton of these for Super Orders.. getting kinda good at them:laugh:) I will cry uncle if I need help on that score.. BUT.. what I want to confirm is will this code cause issues for lightbox users.. I cannot see how this would be, but wanted more seasoned eyes to confirm this part for me..

Thinking out loud. What it looks like he wants is that when you hover over the color squares a "small" image of the colored shirt pops up, not the small image of the colored box. Then if you click on the colored box the "large" image of the colored shirt pops up (as it does now).

Re: Image Handler 2 Support
Having upgraded to the latest Rev 8d version, when I hover over the product image with the words "larger picture" under it, it displays the URL: [domain]/zencart/images/large/filename.gif
Looking at stores where this works successfully, the URL points to the bmz_cache.
Can anyone tell me why my URLs don't point to the cache?
I have uninstalled - reinstalled many times.

Re: Image Handler 2 Support
OK, I installed IH2 exactly as described in the readme file. It seemed to be working UNTIL I wanted to view a full size image. I'm using a jquery based lightbox that came installed in the ZJ-Silver-Wide Template I'm using......so the larger image wouldn't load because well it didn't exist in location specified. So I uninstalled IH2 per the instructions and well now I can't view larger images....period. If I could get IH2 to work that would be great.....any ideas. Here's the link to my site with IH2 currently disabled.

Re: Image Handler 2 Support
sonik_fury your links upon clicking for the larger image are very similar to mine i.e. they go looking for a _LRG file in the images/large/ folder instead of referencing the bmz_cache.
The only thing I can add is that Rev 8b worked for me and that I don't use lightbox. I do use jquery, but not in the shopping cart. It's odd.

Nigel is correct and in the next release (should be submitted this week - still testing the modifications) I'll make sure I add this to the readme.. The latest versions of the Zen Lightbox supports IH2 OUT THE BOX without any file merging required.. I'm at work and I can't remember which file it is off the top of my head, but there is ONE file that ZLB and IH2 have in common.. You do NOT need to merge the ZLB file with the IH2 file.. Simply REPLACE the IH2 file with the one from ZLB fileset and you should be good to go..

Re: Image Handler 2 Support
Thanks Diva :)
When I installed IH2 and Zen Lightbox 1.61, the only common file I found was includes/modules/custom_template/additional_images.php. At that time, I overrode the IH2 file with the ZLB file.
I've posted over at the Zen LightBox support thread to find out if this is the file in question, or if there's another one that I must have missed. Either way, I'm hoping that upgrading to ZenLightBox 1.62 will resolve the issue.

You'd be better served using Fual Slimbox. Plays better with IH2

That's the file.. I am going to update the IH2 documentation so that it's CLEAR what needs to be done to integrate these mods to be used together.. I think it would be AWESOME if the ZLB readme would do the same it it's documentation.. (hint hint:laugh:) It would cut down on the confusion and questions on BOTH support threads for users of both mods if the "integration" requirements were clear. I am also going to provide some more details on Fual Slimbox integration as well..
We tested integration with Fual Slimbox and ZLB because they appeared to be the most popular. I can't test every lightbox or image effect module with IH2 (far too busy), but if there are other lightbox or image effect modules that folks are using with IH2 and they would like to provide integration data for me to include in the readme, feel free to pass it my way..

I used to think so too.. Fual Slimbox is what I've always used on all my client's sites.. However, the newer versions of ZLB seem to have REALLY improved their IH2 integration.. I'll be doing my own testing of course, but it looks things have improved quite a bit with ZLB v1.6.2..

Cool! BTW, I just double checked what I did with the includes/modules/custom_template/additional_images.php
file to make sure I didn't mess it up during install, and all is as it should be (i.e. Zen LightBox file was used to override the IH2 file). So this has been ruled at as a causal factor.
Niestudio doesn't believe that upgrading Zen Lightbox from 1.61 to 1.62 will resolve the issue as that upgrade only affects buttons on the lightbox. He is researching further.
For folks finding this thread in the future and wishing to follow this particular issue, please visit the Zen LightBox support thread, as this is not an IH2 issue and probably should not continue to be discussed here :)

I agree.. It appears that IH2 works everywhere but the product details page when using ZLB. It appears that the ZLB modifications to includes/templates/YOUR_TEMPLATE/templates/tpl_modules_main_product_image.php grabs the products medium and large images from the default Zen Cart locations versus the bmz_cache..
So no.. This is DEFINITELY not an IH2 issue.. So ScriptJunkie and I are taking our discussion over to the other thread.. If there is an update needed it will be posted back here..
Could use some more experienced eyes looking at this though (hint hint to nigel74 and nagelkruid )

I feel your pain, i had the same issue with the zj_black template, i ended up going through and uninstalling, the included lightbox and putting the latest version (at that time, 2 months ago) of lightbox in and that solved the problem, unfortunately i can't remember what the heck i did (really need to remember to write done exactly what I do)
but they do work together

Re: Image Handler 2 Support
what i found when installing lightbox into stores that already have their own jquery installed--i think the creator has edited it to suit their themes-- anyway what i did was to not install zen lightbox but to install one called: jqlightbox fond at : http://rubikintegration.com/products
in one store this was the only one I could use aside from removing the templates own jquery items and losing some of its functions.

Re: Image Handler 2 Support
For each additional image i add in IH2, it puts "Larger Image" under the photo.
Is there anywhere i can change this ? I cant seem to locate that text it any file.

That's default Zen Cart functions.. (IH2 does not "add" this link) You can search the forum for posts on how to remove that.. I found a couple of posts which cover how to do this by searching for "Larger Image"

HELP!!!!
I dowloaded the lastest version of IH2 from this link
http://www.zen-cart.com/index.php?ma...roducts_id=117
followed all the instructions, copied all the files via Filezilla and now i canot access my admin @ all!!
prior to IH2 installed the Lightbox. Is that causing the problem? Or did i place the files for IH2 wrongly? I actually manually deleted them 1 by 1 n copied them over slowly but still not looking good :<

It'll help folks to help you if you post a link to your site. Also I'm not sure what you mean when you say "i canot access my admin @ all!!". If that means that your admin page is blank then you need to post the contents of your error log file.
"Open the latest /cache/myDEBUG-xxxxxxx.log file to see the list of any PHP errors that occurred while the page/test was running."
blank page = error
I am getting a blank page (or blank part of a page)

The error is most likely a result of something that went wrong with your install.. See if there's anything in your error logs.
"Open the latest /cache/myDEBUG-xxxxxxx.log file to see the list of any PHP errors that occurred while the page/test was running."
Otherwise the BEST thing you can do is to rollback to before you installed IH2/ZLB and start over.. FYI you want to install IH2 BEFORE you install ZLB..

Re: Image Handler 2 Support
Hi Diva
Thanks for your advice. I suspect its wrong placement of the files... a quick one: when the installation instructions ask for Store Root, will mine be
ragdoll.sg/store
ragdoll.sg
or even first level up where my main entire domain lies?
I see the 4 folders that were packed in the zip are the same (except bmz_cache is new) in my ragdoll.sg/store folder so i placed them there
correct me if im wrong

Hi Diva
Its me AGAIN
after solving installation problems, i have an issue with additional product images. I have read the forum on how to drag n drop additional images via FTP (with proper consistent naming) and have succesfully seen them on my site before IH2 was installed.
I have infact removed and did a fresh upload of my images after my IH2 installation (just in case), but my additional images dont show up still
whats the proper way to put in additional images w IH2 installed? FYI i placed additional images in the same folder as my main product image on the product info page

Re: Image Handler 2 Support
If you are going to be uploading images via FTP (versus using the IH2 manager to upload your additional images), you need to read up on how Zen Cart expects them to be named in order to recognize them and properly associate them with the correct product. IH2 doesn't change default Zen Cart image behavior, it only helps to optimize an manage your images in an easier fashion. The Zen Cart FAQs should help you understand what needs to happen to get additional images working:

Re: Image Handler 2 Support
Hi Diva
Yes i had read n already named them accordingly as to how ZC recognises them. I uploaded the additional images via FTP as this is the only way i know of. How do you add in additional images via IH2?
There wasnt any guide on the installation page from the developer.

The IH2 interface is where you would add either the primary product image or the additional images..
However if you use FTP to upload your additional product images (instead of using the IH2 interface to add them), there isn't anything "more" you need to do in IH2 to make you additional images display..
If the additional images are NOT displaying then it means either you've installed IH2 or ZLB incorrectly or the images themselves may not be conforming to Zen Cart requirements/standards for additional images..
My guess is that since it's additional images not working that you did not follow the install guidelines posted on the ZLB support thread (or here on this support thread) about the order in which you must install these two mods to get them working together. See this: http://www.zen-cart.com/forum/showth...35913&page=645 read posts 6449 and 6450. See if this helps..

another thing...do not do what I did and name them with the _lrg and _med in the names just name them with the main image name_01.jpg then change the number for each additinal one you have
mainimage.jpg
mainimage_01.jpg
and so on

Re: Image Handler 2 Support
Image Handler2, Rev. 8
Zen Cart 1.3.9h
PHP Version: 5.2.14 (Zend: 2.2.0)
Good Evening All
I have IH2 on my live and test system. Both work fine except on the live system when inputting a new image, the BASE IMAGE DIRECTORY popup shows a list of image folders in non alpha order. The files for the live system were FTP'd up from the test system where the same function works just fine in alpha order.
This is getting to be a real problem as there is now a considerable number of folders
I think this information comes from admin/image_handler.php around lines 843 to 846 and seems to invoke DIR_FS_CATALOG_IMAGES.
That would seem to suggest a corruption, but I am not sure a) if I am on the right track b) how to proceed from here
I would be grateful for any thoughts or guidance
Thank you

I had a friend make the new watermarks and to be honest I don't know if the one he made is the same size as the "zencart" watermark that is included in the IH add-on.
So now I'm confused, should all of the watermarks be the same size?

good question so I looked and the ones that come with ih2 are 3 different sizes but all .png
mine at my store are all the same size...so guess it is your pref pretty much.
did you make sure that all the ih2 files got uploaded to their correct spots?
forget everything I just wrote...mine is not there anymore either

Re: Image Handler 2 Support
I just went through the files again and the only one I'm not 100% sure on is the bmz_cache folder. It's in the IH Store Root folder folder (Root Dir\Store_Root\bmz_cache\....) and it still contains the .htaccess and .keep files.

Re: Image Handler 2 Support
If IH2 is installed correctly the watermarks should just work when you turn them on in the image settings. (Configuration > Images)
The size of the replacement watermarks is not important, though they should not be larger than the images they will be watermarking because they won't look good.
They do have to be in the right locations and they have to be named correctly.
From the readme. The relevant items are highlighted
Quote:
Watermarking
In order for watermarking to work for every image dimension the specific corresponding watermark images have to be present. That means, you have to upload files to the following specific locations (these are included in the install package):
- images/watermark.png
- images/medium/watermark_MED.png (or your specified MEDIUM_IMAGE_SUFFIX)
- images/large/watermark_LRG.png (or your specified LARGE_IMAGE_SUFFIX)
The add-on package includes some demo watermark images for small, medium and large sized images featuring a slightly modified Zen-Cart logo for a quick start. Nothing more to do, switch on, switch off, just as you like. Image Handler takes care of generating images accordingly. You can specify where you want the watermark to appear on the image canvas by selecting NorthWest, North, NorthEast, West, Center, East, SoutWest, South and SouthEast for the
Watermark Gravity setting. To use your own watermark, simply create replacement watermark images using the image editing software of your choice. (
Your custom watermark files should be PNGs using the same image names as the sample watermark images)

The size of the replacement watermarks is not important, though they should not be larger than the images they will be watermarking because they won't look good.
They do have to be in the right locations and they have to be named correctly.
From the readme. The relevant items are highlighted
Just tested custom watermarks on my test store. All my test watermarks are PNGs, and they are named with the EXACT SAME filename as the default watermarks that come with IH2.

Re: Image Handler 2 Support
one more idea then...
go to admin/tools/image handler 2/admin (this is in its own section below the menu bar)
click to uninstall it..then install it and clear its cache too.
maybe that might help
also... the image url when using view image does not seem to go to the bmz cache folder it is going to the large folder...Large/Normal?name of image

having only 1 image to show you need to just load it into the product via IH2 control area or upload it to the main images folder---images/image or images/subfolder/image
ih2 I think ignores the Large and Medium folders to an extent. of course I may be confused on that part Diva will let us know.

:laugh: It doesn't exactly ignore them, but there is no need to use them as IH2 will create your small and medium images from the large image. All you need to do is upload the largest image to the images folder and IH2 will do the rest..

Re: Image Handler 2 Support
Microsoft released its Internet Explorer (ie9) today and I noticed straight away that it doesn't display IH2 hover effect correctly. Or, perhaps more correct, it seems to display the image hoover when a category is first loaded, but as soon as the page is scrolled the hover doesn't work any more.
Can anyone confirm? I've tried two more sites found in this thread and none is working with the image hover overlay.
A fix would be great!

Yep i can confirm its happening like you say, weird as i never noticed this error when using the RC version of IE9, but just tested it and it fails in there too.
There isn't a fix yet
However there is a hack, it hasn't been extensively tested, but it works for me
find your
includes/templates/YOUR_TEMPLATE/common/html_header.php
if you don't have that file copy the one from
includes/templates/template_default/common/html_header.php
find this section
Code:
<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=<?php echo CHARSET; ?>" />
<meta name="keywords" content="<?php echo META_TAG_KEYWORDS; ?>" />
<meta name="description" content="<?php echo META_TAG_DESCRIPTION; ?>" />
<meta http-equiv="imagetoolbar" content="no" />
and add this
directly under it
Code:
<meta http-equiv="X-UA-Compatible" content="IE=EmulateIE8" />
This tells IE9 to use the IE8 compatibility,

Re: Image Handler 2 Support
Hi Diva
Testing has hit a snag, it works flawlessly on my Xampp server, but my public test zen install (the one i use to get other people to test their browsers on) will not work with any version of image handler at all, so having to rebuild it. (the zencart install, not the image handler fix)

Re: Image Handler 2 Support
Ok, Testers
go here
http://grumpykiwi.com/haeana/index.p...Path=1376_1624
WAIT FOR THE PAGE TO COMPLETELY LOAD, then check the hover effect
I have tested in Vista
IE9
IE9 compatibility mode
Opera 11.01
Chrome 10.0.648.134
Firefox 3.6.13
Basically compatibility should be identical to the previous version, just IE9 should work correctly now
I just need to tidy the code up a bit, then i will flick it to you Diva
------------------------------------------
Edit: taking a while as my comp is on its last legs and keeps crashing

Bear with me folks the changes in the new version are not at all CRITICAL.. They are simply a compilation of our dear Nigel's and nagelkruids posted tweaks/improvements.. PLUS I'm completely re-writing the IH2 readme.. (New format, more information etc..)
The current version (save the IE9 issues with the JS) is still perfectly fine to download and install..

Re: Image Handler 2 Support

Re: Image Handler 2 Support
Hi everyone,
I'm a newbie to the world of ZenCart and web customization with add-ons and I'm having trouble installing the Image Handler 2 add-on. I've read the readme file and as I understand it, I am supposed to the following:
1. rename the admin folder, which I changed to zc_admin (my site's admin folder name)
2. changed the "YOUR_TEMPLATE" in the modules and templates folders to the name of my template, which I changed to "cherry_zen".
3. I installed the entire "Store_Root" folder to my store root, which is "public_html". This is the folder that contains the index.php file for my site.
4. Unfortunately, after doing this, the option to install IH2 didn't show up in Admin > Tools >Image Handler2.
I'm not sure what I've done wrong at this point and would really appreciate any help/insight anyone can offer. I uninstalled the application from my server after it didn't work. The URL of my site is www.bbetoysplus.com.

I think you misread/misunderstood this part.

Install the contents of the Store_Root folder, guess where? in your store root, where index.php is.
Meaning what's IN the Store_Root folder, not the whole Store_Root folder.. (which it sounds like is what you have done..)

Wow, now I feel like a complete idiot. You were absolutely right. Once I installed the components contained within the Store_Root folder, it worked and it's now installed. Thanks so much for your help!

Hi larkin,
Now that you've done this, you may want to go back and change the names of your admin folder and custom template folders to something else, as you have shared that information on the internet.
Going forward, when referring to these folders, use "MY_ADMIN_FOLDER" and "MY_CUSTOM_TEMPLATE", or something equally generic. Never put the true file names "out there" (especially for your admin folder), as it makes your site waaaay too easy to hack :)
(speaking of that, I hope you read and followed all of the security measures detailed in the install instructions for 139h)
Welcome to Zen Cart - no doubt you will enjoy it as much as we all do
PS, after you change the name of your admin folder, remember to update this change in these two files:
admin/includes/configure.php
and
store_root/includes/configure.php

Hi. as Diva said, rename the admin-folder once again asap. I have a couple of attempts/bots trying to access the admin-page every week and run scripts (most notably "password forgotten") and I hate to see them succeed on your site.
Don't rename it to "administration" or something easy or self explanatory, but rater mix large and small letters, include a couple of numbers as well, and make it quite long.
As extra precaution, you may add a server side password login to the admin-folder. If you have cpanel, that's an easy task. Look under "password protect folders".
To keep your admin-url secret, make sure you never visit an other URL from the admin-window. Make sure you close the window, otherwise others (like me) can look inside our access-logs and see the referer-url - i.e. your admin-url.

Re: Image Handler 2 Support
I started another test store. I installed the latest IH. I scanned for images that I uploaded from my other test site. The images are not showing. When I view source I see the line below:
onmouseover="showtrail('images//bd-943satinstylistapron-60.jpg
Just after images it has //, should it not be images/? :shocking:
I had uploaded the bmz_cache folder from my other test site.
Any light shedded would be very helpful.

Disclaimer: I didn't develop this mod and am not deeply familiar with its inner workings.
Despite that, here's what I would do: empty the bmz cache folder, reload the pages, and see what happens.
If you have a fresh install of ZC for a new test store, and a fresh install of IH2 on that new test store, and you've uploaded images to that new test store, IH2 should work fine.
It creates the bmz_cache folder as it goes along...meaning that the cached images are created by IH2 as pages with images are loaded.
It needs to be given the chance to do this because that's how it works. I'm thinking that uploading the bmz cache folder from another store not only won't speed up that process, but simply won't work at all....and that seems to be the case for you.
I may be way off base here, and if so, Diva will correct me and provide you with more accurate information.
But that would be the first thing I would try (clear the bmz cache folder and then reload the pages in question).
