Frankly from this vantage point unless this is an issue that has been reported previously (and someone has experience with that issue), we can't help unless it's a problem that can be duplicated.. There could be issues on the back-end of your site which is unique to your site, and we can't see your site setup to know FOR SURE if there is an issue on the back-end which is the reason why the IH2 install isn't adding the proper entries to the DB (which in turn adds the IH settings to the configuration images).. A link to your store MIGHT help us see something obvious..

If you read the reason Ryk's post was edited, you'd see he's not referring to your issue at all..

You might want to consider having a professional help you with this install...
Re: Image Handler 2 Support
Sorry DivaVocals...I guess I'm not very good at this...
here is my store http://talkingwalls.ca/aline/index.php?
Re: Image Handler 2 Support
WELL...I got it to work...by uninstalling it from the data base through the Tool/ Image handler instead of manually doing it through ftp. I guess the important thing was to empty it from the data base...now all the options are showing up in my admin...
Now to try and get it to work...

The issue is either in your store setup, or you install was done improperly (98% of the issues reported can be traced back to improper installs), and we can't see either of these things from this vantage point. Maybe someone else here has additional input...
Please don't take this wrong, but my strong suggestion is to consider paying a professional to assist you with this install and help you get the issues with this install resolved.. Whatever the issue is, I have a sneaking suspicion that once someone SEES your store setup, they'll KNOW how to get this install working correctly..

I'm not sure what you did, or how you think you fixed it, but it sounds as if you did not install IH2 following the install instructions in the readme file. IH2 is not installed by FTP alone. PER THE README if you FTP'd the files to correct locations, and ran the IH2 install IH2 would work, and IH image configuration settings would appear..

Like I said.. 98% of the install problems are due to improper installs.. Would have been easier for all here helping if you had provided DETAILS on how you did your install especially since it is starting to sound like you installed IH2 in a way that is not part of the install instructions..

Well, if I didn't I thought I did and loaded it several times...I explained how I installed several times as well..
What I'm thinking is maybe the first time was wrong??? but I didn't know enough to empty the data base of whatever files it puts there.
So it wouldn't work every time I uninstalled and reinstalled because of that file. Anyway...not sure if anyone else has had this problem... I was quite sure it was an install problem too, but couldn't figure out what it was that I had misunderstood.
It works now and really needed for my website. Thanks for being patient (sort of) with me....
Re: Image Handler 2 Support
I can only go by what you post.. In your previous posts you say you installed and uninstalled multiple times and it didn't work.. I think the issue is that we all thought that you had done a complete install.. It now sounds like you actually did not.
If in your initial post by INSTALL you meant that you
- FTP'd the files over
BUT
--
you DID NOT
(as the readme says to do)
-- - Go to Admin > Tools >Image Handler2, click on the "Admin" link and click on "Install Image Handler".
Then THIS is why your install was not working all along. Based on your subsequent posts on how you finally resolved your issue, it seems clear (based on your initial posts) that you DID NOT perform that second step.

Yes I installed it through tools...it was there, but nothing shows up in the admin/configure/images....
if the site in question is the one in your signature I see that the images get the hover and appear to have IH working but that is as far as it goes cause the image is not being handled by IH at all. The link does not go to the bmz_cache folder but the actual images folder so something is not where it should be.
what template is that?
