Re: Abbington Mega Template Support Thread
On Installation Step 6: Recommended Admin Settings there are two PNG files missing.

I would like to get my initial base setup done with the recommended settings before I start modifying for my purposes. Thanks.
Re: Abbington Mega Template Support Thread
Hi Anne,
Nice looking template. I am having issues which are hopefully due to me not reading well enough.
I was having the issues below but only discovered after several addins installed, so I deleted all files from the server and reinstalled as a default install.
1. Default install. No plug-ins except abbington_mega template. All Define Pages in Admin are blank. All the pages on the site have the default text. plain text editor. HTML editor not yet installed. It seems as the files being displayed are not the same as being opened in the editor. I just dropped the entire fileset onto the server.
Downloaded template from zencart templates but first line of template description is

This mod accidentally got deleted - would you please resubmit it? Here's the text you used:
Define pages editor in admin shows text as expected with Classic Green template. plain text editor.
2. menu bar, Information pulldown, Useful links is blank. I call myself following the instructions to make sure that all is fine but nothing shows up. No hair left for me to pull out.
TNX

Re: Abbington Mega Template Support Thread
Hello,
I too would like to say great template!
I've read the tutorial on menus, etc...what I'm looking for is a way to create header menu content that redirects to an html file inside main_page. How do I change the links in the menu for example under "Information" "about us" goes to main_page=about_us. How would I go about adding new sub entries and pages they point to? (also just out of curiousity could you make both "about us" links point to the same? ie: Information->About Us is different from Header Menu "About Us".
Thanks.

You can edit any of the links by editing the includes/templates/abbington_mega/common/tpl_drop_menu.php file. I am not sure what you mean about the about us links not pointing to the same page? In the template demo all about us links point to this page:
index.php?main_page=about_us
Which is the about us page.
Thanks,
Anne

Take a look at this thread and see if it helps you:

If you post a link to your site I can take a look.
Thanks,
Anne
Re: Abbington Mega Template Support Thread
TNX Anne,
Public display of definepages is fine. Admin display in editor is blank for all define pages except main_page with AbbingtonMega and AberdeenNeutral templates. Other templates (classic green, A modern zen, abbiani supremo) show the default text in the DefinePages editor. If an entry is made into the blank definepages editor, all of the default install text is replaced.
Don't know how seeing the public site will help since it is fine but the site is srevaewniahc*.*info with the stars removed
meanwhile, I'll read through the links you mentioned
Re: Abbington Mega Template Support Thread
Hi Anne,
I changed the references of utf8 to iso-8859-1 in 4 files. The only change that appeared to make any difference was the admin/includes/english.php.
Now abbington_mega appears to be functioning as intended. It just didn't make sense to me that one template worked and another didn't.
TNX for the help.

Hi Anne,
Thanks for the quick response. Did you mean the tpl_mega_menu.php file as I don't have a tpl_drop_menu.php file. However, this only has reference to the first menu item "categories". It looks like /includes/languages/english/extra_definitiions/abbington_mega/headermenu.php might be the file. So if I wanted to add a new menu item (link) to the Information drop down and call it "Test" and point Test link to main_page=testpage.html where would I do this?
What I was saying out the "About us" menu item is that on the drop down menu "About us" has the picture and some text (which is changable in the hedermenu.php file I mented above. However, in the footer section there is an "About Us" link that points to main_page=about_us that is a different page and contains this info:
Home :: About Us
About Us
ABOUT US Sample Text ...
This section of text is from the Define Pages Editor located under Tools in the Admin.
You can use either the language-file in /includes/languages/english/MYTEMPLATE/about_us.php or this file separately for this page or, you can use both together.
To remove the language file definition, do not delete the define statement, set it to be blank. Example: define('TEXT_INFORMATION', '');
I'm really just looking to add more drop-down menu items that point to pages I can create.
Thanks,
J.
To remove this section of the text (which you're reading right now), delete it from the Define Pages Editor, located under Tools in the Admin.
