Doesn't seem to make any difference.
Easiest solution would simply be to force extra photos (one or two) to the left side. That would do it. There must be a command somewhere that allows them to slip right or -in the case of more than one- to spread in equal distance over the line irrespective of them overlaying the buttons on the right. If that could just be changed.
Thank you
This does work--I tried it in firebug before posting. The clear makes it so that the add to cart doesn't cover up the additional images.
Thanks,
Anne

Re: Andover Modern Template Support Thread
On this page, the images that appear for the "inlay" are all listed in a single column, I would prefer that they only display when a particular one is selected, but if tht is not already a feature then perhaps just changing them to be in a row across the page instead would make the page display a bit smaller.

You can select the layout for the attribute images in your admin--catalog--option name manager. Find the option name and click on edit. Change "Attribute Images per Row" and "Attribute Style for Radio Buttons/Checkbox:"

Re: Andover Modern Template Support Thread
Hello everyone! I just submitted a new, updated version of the template package.
* I updated the AddThis code on the product info page to include the Pinterest Pin It button
* I updated the product info page layout for a more custom look. The price, attributes, and add to cart are in their own box next to the product image with the description, AddThis, product details, etc. below
* The new, updated html readme file has been added
* I added social media icons for youtube, pinterest, google plus, and your blog in the footer
* I added tabbed home page centerbox content for new products, featured products, and specials
Download available from my site until the update has been approved here.
See the readme file from the new package for information on changed files and new files added.
Thanks,
Anne

Hello from me too! I installed this template as the guide says but when I finished all the guidelines I keep getting the message" Sorry!
There seems to be a problem connecting to our database. Please give us a few minutes to remedy the problem. Thank you."
Any idea what I have to do or if I did anything wrong?

The database problem is not being caused by the template. I would check your cache folder and also your configuration files to see if your database info is correct.

Re: Andover Modern Template Support Thread
Hello again and thanks! I solved it :P.I have 2 more questions to ask you
first one: I would like to change the default language of the template to mine but then I want to keep english also as a secondary option.Can you please refer me to somewhere that i would be able to change the language of the template.I mean something like translating it and then if someone will need english will press english and translate back to english
second one is this: i would like to make an entrace page with first a registration form and when they register,it will have a login form.When users login with their usernames and stuff I want them to enter to the wbesite.So my question is after I make this webpage how can I connected to the entire template as I want the users to be logged as customers as well after the registration and the login.Any ideas or a guide how can I manage this?
Thanks for your time!

Re: Andover Modern Template Support Thread
I love your template, it is very well done with the update thank you! I have a question about the center box tabs (new, featured, specials) on the home page.
I want to have the "new" tab to always show new products on the home page. Right now, I have to click on the "new" tab for products to display. I have read your tutorial on displaying the center box but it doesn't show how to get products to be displayed as a default option without clicking on the tab. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

1. You will need to install whatever language pack you need.
2. This will require custom programming. I would recommend hiring or consulting a php expert.

Re: Andover Modern Template Support Thread
Hello,
I am fairly new to Zen Cart in terms of experience and I have a problem with the Andover Modern template. I really like it, but I can't make it work at all. I watched the video how to install it. I copied all the files and reset the boxes. However, when I refresh the site only grey background appears. If I switch back to the default green template everything works just fine.
I must be doing something wrong, but I can't figure out what. The new site is here: www.clayjungle.com. I just installed Zen Cart 1.5.0 this week via GoDaddy as one of the applications they offer.
Any help would be highly appreciated, since I have no idea how to fix this.
Thank you.

If you are seeing a blank page or part of a blank page you have not installed the template correctly. Check your /cache folder for error logs.
Be sure to search the forum for gadaddy hosting. There are many problems associated wiith this web host.

Re: Andover Modern Template Support Thread
Thank you for your advice. I checked the error logs and this is what it said:
Code:
[08-Aug-2012 19:28:47] PHP Warning: require(includes/modules/sideboxes/languages_header.php) [<a href='function.require'>function.require</a>]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/content/24/4522924/html/clayjungle/includes/templates/andover_modern/common/tpl_header.php on line 44
[08-Aug-2012 19:28:47] PHP Fatal error: require() [<a href='function.require'>function.require</a>]: Failed opening required 'includes/modules/sideboxes/languages_header.php' (include_path='.:/usr/local/php5/lib/php') in /home/content/24/4522924/html/clayjungle/includes/templates/andover_modern/common/tpl_header.php on line 44
So I checked the files and sure thing, they were missing. But I dragged the whole includes folder over when I copied them the first time. So I dragged the whole includes folder to the server again and overwrote all the template files again. It didn't help. I don't know if the FTP client is not working right (FileZilla), or the server is for some reason not letting the files being copies over or if I am doing something wrong.
So, I used the includes folder from my backup of the site on my local drive, copied the files from the andover modern template over into it on my local drive and uploaded the whole includes folder for zen cart over to the server. Now it is working perfectly and it looks great :)
Thank you again for pointing me in the right direction and thank you for making this great template available for free.

I am happy that you corrected the problem. Since the problem was with your zen cart install, it would be wise to scrap your current installation and start from a fresh installation in case there are other files that are also missing.
Thanks,

Re: Andover Modern Template Support Thread
Hi,
I am in the process of building a new site on which I have installed the andover modern template. It has all installed fine and is working very well except there seems to be a bit of an issue with the facebook like button on the product pages.
On your website if I goto a product page and click like it pops up a little window with my facebook account and allows me to add a comment to the link then when i go to my facebook account it says phil likes andover modern with a picture and the link to the product.
When I try the same thing on my site I click the like button, it increments the count by one and ticks the like button and thats it, then when I goto my facebook it says phil likes a link but doesn't say what it is or add a picture, it does have the link to the product page so if someone clicked the space where the picture should be it would go to the product page.
Do you have any idea what I might have done wrong to get this behaviour?
my new site is www.giftmakersdirect.com but it is down for maintenance at the moment while I build it, if you need to gain access to test please pm me your ip address and I'll add you to the exclusion list so you can see it.
Thanks

I would recommend going to the Addthis.com site and grabbing the latest version of the code for the social bookmarking and replacing this with the code used in the template. It has been a while since this template was updated and it is possible that they have updated their code. The code is in the includes/templates/andover_modern/templates/tpl_product_info_display.php file.
Thanks,
Anne

Re: Andover Modern Template Support Thread
I updated the code from the addthis.com website and it made no change. It must be something I am doing wrong because it works perfectly on your website.
-
Re: Andover Modern Template Support Thread
I think I fixed it, I had to add
Code:
<html xmlns:fb="http://ogp.me/ns/fb#"></html>
to the top of the page

Re: Andover Modern Template Support Thread
I spoke too soon, i get the pop up window to add a comment to the link now but it is still just saying phil likes a link with no picture. Any ideas?

Re: Andover Modern Template Support Thread
I've made a discovery, I installed the same code on an old site (version 1.3.8a) and it works perfectly. However on the new site (version 1.5.0) it doesn't include the title, description or image. Does anybody else have this working on zen cart version 1.5.0?

I think that it is working fine. If you just click on the facebook button it will say that you liked the product and 1 will be added to the like number. If you want to post it to your wall you click on the share button and select facebook. Then you can write a comment and it shows the product image, description, etc.
I have the template installed on 1.5 here:

Re: Andover Modern Template Support Thread
Ok so it does work with 1.5 but mine is not working the same way as the one on your site is. It does like it and the like status is added to facebook but the title, description and image are not applied to it. The best way for you to see it is to try it on my site and see for yourself what I mean. My site is down for maintenance though so I'll need to add your ip address to my exclude list so you can access it

Since the unaltered version works on 1.5 I would recommend looking to any changes/modifications you have made to track down the problem.

Re: Andover Modern Template Support Thread
Thanks for your help I got it sorted. Turns out the problem was simply that the site was down for maintenance so facebook couldn't scrape the page for the information. Once I figured out how the facebook like button worked it was pretty obvious.
I made a few code changes to html_header.php if anyone is interested.
To get the preview pop up window to show when the like button is pressed open the includes/templates/andover_modern/common/html_header.php
Find this near the top
Code:
<html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml" <?php echo HTML_PARAMS; ?>>
and replace with this
Code:
<html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml" xmlns:fb="http://ogp.me/ns/fb#" <?php echo HTML_PARAMS; ?>>
I then had an issue with facebook using the wrong image, this is because it uses the first image it finds on the page, in my case it was the first image in the whats new sidebox. so to make sure it uses the correct image and to comply with facebooks recommended tags in the same file as above find this:
Code:
<title><?php echo META_TAG_TITLE; ?></title>
and under this add:
Code:
<meta property="og:title" content="<?php echo META_TAG_TITLE; ?>" />
<meta property="og:type" content="product" />
<meta property="og:site_name" content="<?php echo STORE_NAME; ?>" />
<meta property="og:description" content="<?php echo META_TAG_DESCRIPTION; ?>" />
<?php
if (isset($_GET['products_id'])) { // use products_image if products_id exists
$facebook_image = $db->Execute("select p.products_image from " . TABLE_PRODUCTS . " p where products_id='" . (int)$_GET['products_id'] . "'");
$fb_image = HTTP_SERVER . DIR_WS_CATALOG . DIR_WS_IMAGES . $facebook_image->fields['products_image'];
}
if ($fb_image == 'stickadefaultimagehere') { // if no products image, use the default image if enabled
$fb_image = '';
}
if ($fb_image != '') {
?>
<meta property="og:image" content="<?php echo $fb_image; ?>" />
<?php
}
?>
Hope this helps anyone whos looking for it

Hi,
Could anyone tell me which file(s) I need to edit so that the back button which appears on the Shipping & Returns, Privacy Notice, Conditions of Use etc. pages also appears on EZ pages that I add?
Thanks

I would recommend taking a look at the template file for one of those files and finding the code for the back button and try to integrate it into your ez page.

Re: Andover Modern Template Support Thread
I did that and found this code:
Code:
<div class="buttonRow back"><?php echo zen_back_link() . zen_image_button(BUTTON_IMAGE_BACK, BUTTON_BACK_ALT) . '</a>'; ?></div>
I pasted this to the buttom of my EZ page and nothing happens, I assume I have to tell it to require a certain page which has the infomation about the back button on it but I don't know which page does that.
Any advice?
Thanks

You really should not be double posting. I would recommend being patient and waiting to see if any one answer you on your other thread.
Also, this question has been asked and answered before on the forum so a seach on the forum will give you some answers.

Re: Andover Modern Template Support Thread
Hello,
This is my first post, so please be gentle with me !! :blush:
I am currently developing my website and I am using the Andover Modern template, which I have to say is fantastic- Thank you.
I have changed some of the colours etc etc and so far all is good no problems... What I would like to do however is to change the icon for the shopping trolley and move it to the right hand side..
Is this possible and how would you go about doing this ?
Many Thanks

To change the shopping cart icon you need to change this image:
includes/templates/andover_modern/images/cart.jpg
You can move it either using positioning and the stylesheet.css file or you can go into the includes/templates/andover_modern/common/tpl_header.php file and move the code and then use css to perfect positioning.
Thanks,
Anne

Thank you!!, I have now managed to change the icon and have moved the icon slightly, albeit not quite where I wanted it. What would I need to change on the sytlesheet.css to make it show on the right hand side above the search box ??
I still have a few things to modify but you can see what I mean here http//:www.dmldiscounts.com

If you want only the shopping cart totals to move you will have to edit the code in the includes/templates/andover_modern/common/tpl_header.php file and then possibley also use css for positioning.

To remove the social media from the product info page you need to edit the includes/templates/andover_modern/templates/tpl_product_info_display.php file. Just remove the code for the add this code.
The height of the footer menu is in the stylesheet_footer_menu.css file line 5 dl{height:160px;}

Re: Andover Modern Template Support Thread
I installed the template, we don't want to show "NEW" "FEATURED" or "SPECIALS" on the front page of the store. When I remove those from showing, I still see a small empty box across the bottom before the header. How do I remove that?

You can add this to the bottom of your stylesheet.css file:
Code:
#moduleMenu-wrapper{display:none;}

Re: Andover Modern Template Support Thread
Hello everyone,
I am working on my site and using the Andover Modern template. My logo is a square instead of a rectangle, so I have way too much empty space to the right of the logo. Is there a way to insert text and additional images to the right of the logo?
Any help or a link to a guide on how to accomplish this would be appreciated.
Thank you.

You can adjust the spacing in the header by editing the stylesheet.css file. If you post a linki to your site I can take a look.
You can add anything to the header in the includes/templates/andover_modern/common/tpl_header.php file.
Thanks,
Anne

Re: Andover Modern Template Support Thread
Thank you for your reply. I would like to fill the empty space with some text of maybe more images. I am not sure exactly, but I have to do something. Also, can I eliminate the margin between the top and the bottom of the logo, so that the empty space would be a little bit narrower (so that the logo would almost touch the top of the browser window on top and almost touch the top of the nav bar on the bottom)?

Thank you.

In your stylesheet.css file, change this:
Code:
#tagline {color:#b5b5b6;font-size: 1.65em;text-align :left;vertical-align:bottom;margin-left:10px;margin-bottom:25px;}
#logo {padding-top:15px;padding-left:15px;}
to this:
Code:
#tagline {color:#b5b5b6;font-size: 1.65em;text-align :left;vertical-align:bottom;margin-left:10px;margin-bottom:0px;}
#logo {padding-top:0px;padding-left:15px;}

Re: Andover Modern Template Support Thread
Thank you. That is exactly what I was looking for. Is there a thread somewhere on here explaining how to edit the tpl_header.php file? I am not exactly sure how to go about adding some text next to the logo. I think that stylesheet will apply font and color, but how do I actually add the text.
Thank you.

You will edit the file with a plain text editor and add your xhtml code. If you do not know how to add xhtml I would recommend doing a google search for a beginners xhtml tutorial.

The pop up "Estimate Shipping" comes in all black, so somewhere I have made the background of that pop up box to be black, but don't know where to change that. I checked the stylesheet, but can't find what I need to change.

Re: Andover Modern Template Support Thread
hi anne,
site is http://www.adavendsolutions. com (business_template)
please click on "coffee machine solutions" (path=2)i have a large picture on the top of the page, kind of keeping with the theme.
my issue is that the drop down lists to choose the product are way at the bottom of the page, and there are the facebook/twtter links there too. they are fine for the main page but i feel that they just take up space on my products page. i would really like them closer to the picture, and perhaps the description underneath that.
is there some kind of sort order on the path=2 page? is that part of the css? can i drop the facebook /twitter links from the page on the path=2.php?
thanks in advance

You can rearrange elements on the product info page by editing the includes/templates/andover_modern/templates/tpl_product_info_display.php file.

I would recommend using the developers toolkit to find the text that you want to edit. See the FAQ's section for an article on how to use the developers toolkit.

Re: Andover Modern Template Support Thread
Anne, I think I figured out how to place the additional text next to the logo on my site, but I am having difficulties with positioning. I can't figure out how to change the margins or float or what ever is setting the positioning for that particular div. It seems like I tried everything, but I am not successful in changing the positioning of the text. There is too much margin on top, and for some reason the text is aligned to the right no matter what I do. What I would like to achieve is the logo on the left, and several short lines of text next to it without too much space in between the lines.
Right now the spacing is way too off.
www.clayjungle.com
I assume that all this spacing is set up somewhere in the style sheet. If you could please point me in the right direction I would really appreciate it.
Thank you.

Please do a search on the forum for the age question as this has been asked and answered many times already.
What do you want to change specifically about the tabs?

You can use the developers toolkit in admin--tools to find out which files you need to edit.

If you removed files you need to download the template package again and upload these files:
includes/modules/pages/index/jscript_easySlider.php
includes/languages/english/html_includes/andover_modern/define_main_page.php
includes/templates/andover_modern/images/slide1.jpg, etc .

There are no zen cart admin files for the slideshow. They are all store files.

You are confusing the define pages editor with admin files. You can edit the slide show in the define pages editor, but it is a template file and not an admin side file.

Re: Andover Modern Template Support Thread
version 1.5.1
add customer from admin
image handler 4
http://dezertdezinez.com/cardshop
My question is on the front page of this template there are tabs in the center for the Feature/Specials/ New
The NEW buttons is not showing correctly? And am not sure what I did to change it.
Do you have some advice of how I can fix this ?
I did change the width of the sidebars in the admin screen. Would this have done the mess up to the button?
I changed the side bar width to 185 from 150
Please let me know if you need more information

My advice would re-trace your steps and systematically un-do the changes you have made. If you don't have a log of the changes, then you can replace the files in the css folder from the default template package.
Thanks,
Anne

Re: Andover Modern Template Support Thread
Having trouble getting the Andover Modern Template to run (appear?)
I was using Zen 1.50, but before installing the Andover template I upgraded to 1.5.1.
The Zen raw install was working fine.
The tutorial was often too confusing. I'm using a Centos 5 server with no CPANEL, or any other web management utility. I had to parse out the installation folder and place the files into the correct places manually without any installation file mapping provided.
From the tutorial, I copied and installed the db snippet.
There was no notes or explanation of what to do with the jscript: jquery.easing.1.3.js
After applying the entire online tutorial, I get a blank grey screen with the browser indicating that it had downloaded something from the website.
Current website:
http://www.graphicapplications.com/catalog/index.php
The logs don't indicate any errors.
The admin side works perfectly, without any errors or problems.
Just a blank website.
I've done the installation from scratch 3 times already and I don't see any way to make the main page live.
Please let me know where to look or what to do and put me out of my misery...at the moment I can't comment about the templates one way or another.

Re: Andover Modern Template Support Thread
Looking for a little help.. I have looked through the posts and not found what I need.
I am trying to add social links to the header yet the picture is not showing after I put in the info to the tpl_header.php the css info to the css and the image to the image folder
everything is there yet no luck ..
have any ideas how to get it to show
I tried to add a picture here though it's not letting me. the link below is to the shop.
http://dezertdezinez.com/cardshop
The below code is the map info for the picture though I am not sure if I can put this in to the php page.
Code:
<html> <head> <meta name="Author" content=""> <meta name="Generator" content="PaintShop Photo Pro"> <title> </title> </head> <body> <img name="social0" src="social.png" width="238" height="129" border="0" usemap="#social" alt="" /> <map name="social"> <area shape="rect" coords="97,89,127,121" href="http://dezertdezinez.com" target="_blank" alt="Dezert Dezinez"> <area shape="rect" coords="144,93,174,123" href="http://twitter.com/shami2009" target="_blank" alt="twitter"> <area shape="rect" coords="198,12,230,44" href="http://pinterest.com/dkk2014/" target="_blank" alt="Pinterest.com / dkk2014"> <area shape="rect" coords="147,11,178,42" href="https://plus.google.com/u/0/113666370918904316553/posts" target="_blank" alt="google +"> <area shape="rect" coords="96,13,128,44" alt=""> </map> </body> </html>

This is not a problem with the template. There are many people who have installed the template with no problems. All of our templates are fully compatible with version 1.5.1. If you are getting a blank page, you need to make sure that you have permissions set to 777 on your logs folder, then refresh your browser where the site is located, then check your log folder for error messages and correct any issues.
The javascript file you are talking about is in the readme folder and not a template file at all. These should not be copied to your server.
I would recommend switching to a web host that has the functionality you need to install the template properly.
Thanks,
Anne

I would not use an image map for the links. I would just use individual images and add them to the tpl_header.php file. Put a class or id on each image so that you can manipulate it with css.
It looks like your image social.png is not in the correct place on your server or the path to the image is not correct because the image will not load.
Thanks,
Anne

Re: Andover Modern Template Support Thread
I am building my site using Andover Modern but I only have the plain text editor loaded in Zen Cart. I know that you must not use html for define pages editor in Andover Modern but would like to use it for the basic page text editing. If I go to Configuration/My Store and edit HTML editor, I only have one choice of plain text. Can you advise if it is ok to use html for Andover Modern and, if so, how I can have it available for use?
Many thanks.

The html area was removed by the zen cart developers in version 1.5+ If you want an html editor in your admin you can install one of the free html editor plugins ;-)

Re: Andover Modern Template Support Thread
Hello thank you for your template, I have been handed a project to compare Zen Cart to a Nopcommerce cart. The NOP has crashed several times on me and the customizing is very complicated to someone with very little code background. My biggest task with Zen is to get the mods installed without losing template functions which is where I am now, It’s a small issue but a function that I really liked. I have made a change or overwritten a file that has removed the New ,Featured and Specials add on to the main page and category page with the custom button format you had. They show up it there natural state on the pages. The site is rvmobilesupply.com/store/ could you please tell me in which file you think would handle this setting. Thank for your help and grate job.

The module that I believe you are talking about is called Tabbed Home Page Modules. I would recommend installing that module to get the functionality back.

Thank You for the quick reply that is the mod, I'll reload it up. One other thing I have been working on, I wanted a easy way to put a image on the right side of the header. I did a work around of changing the languages icon to the image and edited the text field I wanted, but I can't find where to change the code to change the hyper link to direct it to a page. This may not be suitable for the topic but while seaching this I couldn't find a header add on to do this.
Thanks for the support

You can add anything that you want to the header by editing the includes/templates/andover_modern/common/tpl_header.php file. If you need to adjust positioning you can do this in the includes/templates/andover_modern/css/stylesheet.css file.
Thanks,

Re: Andover Modern Template Support Thread
I'm using ZenCart 1.5.1 and your latest version of the Andover Modern template. I keep receiving Debug files with the following warning:
Quote:
PHP Warning: require(includes/templates/template_default/templates/tpl_tell_a_friend_default.php) [<a href='function.require'>function.require</a>]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /usr/www/users/xxxxx/xxxxxxx/catalog/includes/templates/andover_modern/common/tpl_main_page.php on line 122

It appears that the template is looking for a tpl_tell_a_friend_default.php template file, but I can find no such file in my original download of ZenCart or anywhere else. Any ideas on how I can correct this?

The tell a friend was removed in the latest version of zen cart for secuirty reasons.
There is no tpl_main_page.php included in the template package so you must have copied this file from an old version of zen cart.
Thanks,
Anne
