Re: Google Base Feeder Support Thread
Hi there,
Using Cart 1.3.7 and feeder 1.6.4 for last month or so. Recently noticed that a few of my products are not appearing in base searches, they appear in 'my items'.
There is nothing special about the items (that I can see anyways) and they are spread over a different categories, the xml file looks ok and like I say, I can see them in google base 'My Items'
Anyone any ideas why they are missing from the searches?
Thanks
Re: Google Base Feeder Support Thread
finally got it to work but it only loaded 812 out of 3172 products
Re: Google Base Feeder Support Thread
I was really hoping someone might be able to respond to this.
Does anyone have ANY ideas?
Thanks,

It works great to create the feed, but when I try to upload it using the base feeder, it starts to go and then appears to time out. I never get an error, the little progress bar on the bottom of my browser just goes away and the page doesn't update.
This is what I get in the pop-up box:
Google Base Feeder v.1.5.3 28.08.2007 10:25 started 2007/12/19 07:28:06
Feed file - /home/mystore/public_html/feed/mystore.xml
Processing: Feed - No, Upload - Yes
Upload started...
I tried adding the php.ini file as recommended to prevent timeouts. It takes longer to stop now, but it still stops. I can upload the file via ftp and it works fine, but I'd really like to automate the process.
I setup the following CRON job:
GET "http://mystore.com/googlefroogle.php?feed=yes&upload=yes"
(I added the quotes around the link to prevent the forum software from abbreviating the link)
I get the following result in my e-mail:
Google Base Feeder v.1.5.3 28.08.2007 10:25 started 2007/12/19 04:00:03<br />
Feed file - /home/mystore/public_html/feed/mystore.xml<br />
Processing: Feed - Yes, Upload - No<br />
Google Base File Complete In 0.082448 Seconds 9 Records<br />
(I changed my real store location to "mystore" on general paranoia principles.)
Also, I have the Live Product Feeder installed and it works with no trouble at all. Uploads just fine without timing out.
Any suggestions?
Re: Google Base Feeder Support Thread
Try upgrading to the latest version.

Uh... Is this an automated response? I just explained that I had updated to the latest version because I knew that would be the first reply. The results I just posted show v 1.5.3
Re: Google Base Feeder Support Thread
Current version is 1.6.7 which has been out since Dec. 5th.

Yes. 1.5.3 is not the latest version. The latest version will display 1.6.7.

Sigh... Perhaps update the ZenCart website? Or, if you aren't supporting it there anymore for some reason, place a notice or remove it?

Re: Google Base Feeder Support Thread
Hmm. I thought it over and have decided to upload all current versions to the Zen Cart website. I will now maintain both download sections with the latest updates.... Starting in the morning :)
Re: Google Base Feeder Support Thread
Numinix (or anyone else who has an answer), do you know if this mod really works with sites with a relatively large amount of products?
I have three sites, on has just over 3,000 products, the other two have over 15,000 products. This mod works perfectly on the site with about 3000 products, but on the sites with more products it only produces a file for about 5,000 products.
I would think this might be due to a time out, but I always get the successful file created message: "Processing: Feed - Yes, Upload - No"
If I try to open the created file with excel, it gives me this error message:
=======
The file cannot be opened because: The following tags were not closed: rss, channel
=======
Also, although Google processes all products in the file, it also gives this error:
======
We didn't understand some of the XML formatting in your file. You may be missing a tag or have a nesting or formatting error. Bad data line #75726
======
That's the last line from the file and it just has </item> in it.
I've been updating to every new version as soon as it is released hoping that'll be the version that works; unfortunately, that's not been the case for me.
