Echoing scrat - Sirbuck,
Try doing this with only one product first to insure that you are using this tool correctly - get this procedure down before attempting a larger upload
i.e. one product added and available both in the front and back end
(of course, you have a DB backup prior to attempting this?)
Scrat & Kobra
Thanks for the replies. Smaller file is a good idea. After trying one product, I realized that my problem was No Product Name.
Since that was left blank, the database wasn't populated with the rest...since "product_name" is indexed.
Added that and everything works fine.
thanks again guys, had I not broken down the file and tried the single upload, I wouldn't have caught it for a while.
You guys rock
I'm downloading the Google Products feed from EP, and the prices shown for all products are the base price, not the sale price as created by salemaker. Is there anything I can do? I'll manually edit it the feed file before uploading to Google Products if I have to, but it would take a while, and I'm hoping for a way to avoid doing it on a continuous basis.
I figured out the salemaker price thing in my previous post - In easypopulate.php I did a replace-all on "p.products_price" to "p.products_price_sorter".
Thanks for your help, Chadderuski
I'll check the strand character thing again. I thought it might be extra tabs but no.
And the "eofrec" Heheh, the EOREOR is at the end of every row. It would skip the whole row anyway. Got to get this fixed.
rikko101,
Read the earlier posts and suggestions to sirbuck....same for you - get a single item to work correctly and then use this as your template for the large upload
Thanks Kobra
I've been using EP for quite a while. This situation just arose.
I'm pretty sure it some error I've made adjusting the excel file.
I've tried 50 products and it goes like this:
The first 10 products are fine. The the next one is missing product name and description but the rest of the info is fine.
Then maybe 5 more products are OK and then a couple more are missing the same info. And so on. It is the same products all the time that have the missing info. So it's got to the same error common to each product maybe!
Rikko,
Have you changed any of your categories? If a cataory doesn't exit, or you changed it somehow, then I don't think it will import those records.
