Re: Easy Populate support
rikko101 - Find the product that has not imported OK and delete all the other products and just upload that one product(with header row), and see what that brings.
If you change/or a have a new catergory it should update that in the store to that new/changed cat.
What error message does EP give you UPDATED ? SKIPPED ?
Re: Easy Populate support
EP isn't creating the Google Products file correctly. The required format actually changed a few months ago, so I'm surprised they haven't rejected it until now. This is part of a message from Google I got that my upload was disapproved:
Quote:
Thank you for submitting a bulk upload to Google Base. We've reviewed your bulk upload and need you to make changes. Your bulk upload has been disapproved due to the reason(s) listed below.
Issues:
1. Using outdated attributes (fields)
2. Irrelevant product type
-----------------
1. Using outdated attributes (fields): We noticed that your bulk upload is using attribute names from an old version of our product feed format. For example, you've included "product_url" as an attribute name, although this attribute is named "link" in the Google Base format. Please convert your product feed to the new Google Base format by changing the attributes names in your header line:
http://base.google.com/support/bin/a...y?answer=40443
Using Google Base attributes will allow you to provide more structured information about your items, which will help us to match search queries to your items.
2. Irrelevant product type: We noticed that some of the product_type values you included aren't relevant to your items. For example, your item titled "PowerLine Home Gym" should include a more relevant product_type value, such as "Exercise equipment."
Including irrelevant information may cause your products to be miscategorized and adversely affect your items' placement. For a list of example product_type values, please visit:
http://base.google.com/base/product_types.html
Re: Easy Populate support
As a followup to my last post, these are now the required attributes for Google Products:
* brand
* condition
* description
* expiration_date
* id
* image_link
* isbn
* link
* mpn
* price
* product_type
* title
* upc
Only a few of these are in the current Froogle file EP generates.
See http://base.google.com/base/products.html
It's also not Froogle anymore, it's Google Products, but I don't care about that as long as it works! :)
Re: Easy Populate support
And lastly (or maybe not lastly), the "manufacturer_id" column, now the "brand" column, has never shown the items' manufacturers from the zencart database - it's blank.

Slightly wrong thread for this....
Try entering a manufacturer from the admin as these list correctly then look at the EP download for the correct entry

Actually I spoke too soon in regards to the manufacturer. The "brand" column is already there, and it's mapped to the zencart item's manufacturer correctly. The manufacturer field doesn't do anything and isn't required either, so no issue there really.
Re: Easy Populate support
I have been trying to find a quick way to update inventory quantities for a while.
I get an updated xml feed from the supplier whose inventory is most crucial. I know how to convert the xml feed to an sql or excel file or at least I hope it is right.
what do I need to do in easy populate to update the inventory quantities?
I want this to be relatively simple and quick so I can do an inventory update and backup daily. will the standard easy populate work for this or do I need easy populate advanced?

I had some tabs to the RIGHT of EOREOR. Cleaned up that area and all is well!
Re: Easy Populate support
Can Easy Populate 1.2.5.4 upload items with attributes? We need to upload a few thousand items. Each item has several sizes & colors. The size/color combo is tied to a sku# that is used in an XML feed. Is there a template that will work for this type of upload?
Thanks,
Click

With a few thousand items I would use something with more power....
Pop for the advanced version or use a general full featured tool for databases
