Andover Modern Template Support Thread

how do i get the 'featured, new, specials' listing pages to be more than 1 column.. they are split nicely on the home page into 3 columns and i can change that by going to the admin and changing columns per row.. but when i click on 'featured, new, specials' from the category listings in the left sidebar, the products all come up in 1 column.. http://www.swordsofhonor.com/index.p...tured_products

I am having a bit of a problem with the new items not showing unless I click the new tab. I have set the sort order to 1 but still nothing. On my other site using a different one of your templates they show as default when you go onto the homepage. Here is the site I am having problems with

If you read the readme.html file you will find instructions to make the template look like the demo.

This is not a problem with the template. Most likely you have modules installed that have files in an override directory for your previous template. When you install a new template you will need to copy these files to the new template override folders.

No, it is not a problem with the image. If your main image is named image.jpg, then your additional images will be image_01.jpg, image_02.jpg etc.

Thank you Anne, actually I started off naming them like that (_01.jpg, _02.jpg) with no good result, then I renamed them randomly as a test. Made no difference, could not make them to show up...

The problem is not template related.

I would recommend installing image handler to help you with your additional images.

Sorry, but I really don't have a "schedule". I have to fit all of the free stuff in my free time which is very limited. All of the free templates will be updated to be responsive, but I really don't have a particular order set and can't give you any eta.

I am not sure what you mean. Do you mean that you can not edit the define_main_page.php file from the template package with the html editor? This is true. You can only use a plain text editor since this file contains php code.

Is your admin define pages text editor broken? This is not a template related problem.

It looks like you are talking about the footer menu items. If you copy ALL of the language files in the template override to your new language you will no longer see the constants. You can use the admin--tools--developers toolkit to search for what you want to change.

This is already on the list for the next template update.

You would need to create a constant for the text and then add the definitions to your language file. If you download the Responsive Sheffield Blue template package and then copy the includes/templates/responsive_sheffield_blue/templates/tpl_index_default.php file to your includes/templates/andover_modern/templates/tpl_index_default.php, overwriting the file on your server. Then add this to your language file:

You can actually add the code to any of the dutch language files. I would select an override file.

Updating website from 139 to 151 same template (andover) except this is the newer version....

Problem: Updating the footer file for 'facebook & twitter' just 'aint working for me. I have cut & pasted all the details from the working site to the 'demo' site (on same server) but the links are not active... Can't find any mention in the docs/ Maybe I'm blind lol.

I have one more BIG problem with the products_info_display as the template has been refined since the first one (which I'm using live) to the current one. One your site all looks well, with the attributes in a box next to the image, but my page turns out very different in layout, but ok.

Because I have a lot of attributes I need to simply (so I thought) place the code for 'product description' above the 'attributes' but is falls apart in that the attributes 'box' now expands off the page edge. (to the right) I would also love to know how I can get the 'price' and 'product title' to be up top right of image? I want the 'attributes' box & 'add to cart' to be in a box on there own.

Looked for this problem did not find a match. For some reason my slide images have gone transparent I guess. You can see the slide show running from box to box. Says in the window First slide image, second slide image, and so on and loops just can see the image. They are still where they should be. I changed a line in the edit window. The line I changed was not part of the slide show and even when I removed it nothing changed.
Ideas what I might have done?

My guess is that you edited the define_main_page.php with something other than a plain text editor. This file contains php code and must be edited with a plain text editor. I would recommend uploading the file from the template package again.

Looks like you did more than change a line. You have commented out the defines for the image files and the urls. Uncomment that part and it will work.

Correct, I was using CKeditor when I changed the line. Forgot it was set to use that.

Hello I am NEW to the forums and to using zen-cart I had a site up and running ver.1.3.9 it seemed to work well all modules installed were fine. I upgraded to 1.5.1 not sure how I got upgrade up and running but it worked I tried to install Andover Modern template 1.3 and something went very wrong the site was deleted by my host and I was instructed to reinstall zen-cart. I now have ver.1.5.4 on the latest php server ver. I installed 1.5.4 using Fantastico and then went in and cleaned up all the files as if it were a manual install including permissions now the problem is while installing the latest ver. of Andover Modern when I get to the patch for the SQL server when I hit send per the instructions from Picaflors web site it says I do not have permission to access this file and no matter what I do it will not accept it PLEASE HELP.

This template package has not been updated in a long time and is not responsive (mobile friendly). Since google is now penalizing sites in search results that are not mobile friendly, I would strongly recommend using one of the more recently updated/released responsive template packages. The Westminster New, Winchester Black, Winchester Responsive, and Responsive Sheffield Blue v2.0 are my most recently updated and advanced responsive template packages. They can be all be used as a 1, 2, or 3 column layout, with or without the left/right columns on the home page.

If you already have the andover modern installed you need to install the responsive_avonlee_contempo.sql responsive.sql

Hello there,

I realize this is an old thread but we just installed Zen Cart and Andover_modern was chosen for the theme. I was wondering if a responsive version was ever completed? I've set up the version I could find online (from 2012) but can't find a responsive version.

I don't find any instance of an upgrade to responsive for this template. The author's demo site is not working, as well.

You can try contacting the author directly, but others have not been very successful in making contact.
