I just wanted to update any new users who are looking to download this mod. I store the downloads on my site, but my site was recently hacked. In an effort to get rid of bad files, I accidentally deleted the folder which contains the COWOA downloads. Yes, I am an idiot. Not for accidentally deleting them, but for not having back up copies. It seems I have back up copies of everything else along with EVERY stupid insignificant file on my computer, but no COWOA backup. So.... if there is anyone who happens to have this mod for 1.3.7 and for 1.3.8 that can send them to me, I would be very grateful. If not, I will not be able to sort this out and get things back up until this weekend, maybe even next weekend depending on my workload. Sorry!!!
Wasn't sure which mod this was, but here's two links, one to easy_signup and one to Integrated COWOA 1.3.8:

Thank you so much limelites! I was able to find COWOA 1.3.7 on an old disc and thought I would have to spend my Saturday editing it for 1.3.8. I would have been so behind on my work.
I encountered this issue as well, post #672 in this thread. I did not follow up with a response to Numinix on whether the customer could come back and use the same e-mail address. I was selling a lot of gift certificates for the holidays and just disabled the COWOA functionality and avoided the issue altogether.
I would still like to offer COWOA as an option. I'm curious how this is successfully handled by shops using Gift Certificates and downloadable products?
Couldn't you put a notice stating that, for obvious reasons, an account needs to be created when someone is purchasing a download or gift cert.? I think most people in their right mind would understand that under certain circumstances, they just cannot use guest checkout for those kinds of items. These particular products require information to be stored. I purchase downloads frequently and have never seen a site using guest checkout for such a product. And although I may be a little more computer savvy compared to the average person, I never considered it unreasonable to create an account in order to buy that kind of item. Do I need to create an account to buy screwdrivers? Not really. But for downloads and gift certs? Probably. jmho. Sorry I couldn't be of more help.
Thanks for your quick reply Craftzombie.
I had the 'YOU MUST CREATE AN ACCOUNT' when checking out notice on downloads and invariably I was dealing with at least one customer a week that ignored it. That was easy to resolve because I could e-mail them the file.
Gift certificates were another matter because they were not as easy to deal with once the customer checked out without an account.
I think my business lends itself to asking someone to create an account. The goal is to make them a long term, repeat customer. At the same time, if they just want to order a single pattern or have other reasons for not wanting to 'create an account' I'd like to offer the COWOA option. Anything to keep conversions as high as possible! :)
I keep the notices turned on for this thread in the event someone does come up with an approach for dealing with this issue.
Creation of an account with a password is the greatest source of complaints we received from people with our current set-up. People prefer not to create an account, especially if its a one-off purchase. In spite of the restricted support, people do not want to create accounts.
I need this to work specifically for GCs COWOA as it is the main source of business for the account I'm looking to create this zen cart for.
I guess I was hoping someone has already solved this issue, but perhaps it will turn into a contribution for the community when all is said and done.
I need a customized delivery option without burdening the customer post-checkout to allow for true COWOA with a GC. Basically putting the send gift card page before final checkout Any contributions in the way of ideas would be greatly appreciated
I agree this is the only issue I have with Zen since most of my clients DO NOT want forced login.....
LIMELIGHT...what are you using for your checkout? I that Easy SIgn Up and COWOA...I love your format.....I am using one page checkout for most of my clients now and debating whether ot use COWOA for future clients instead....but yours is the best layout I have seen so far....
Greetings Zenners!
I just downloaded COWOA version 1.3.8 (it is May 3rd.) I state the date because on the download page it stated that if you downloaded before April 30, 2009, and upgrade could be added.
In the downloaded files, there is no YOUR_TEMPLATE folder, but there is a freetemplate2 folder. I am very familiar with the override system and just want to check if the YOUR_TEMPLATE folder is renamed to freetemplate2 and I should upload those files to my custom folder, or, do I need to have a folder called freetemplate2?
I hope that is clear...
Thanks!
Chris
