QM360,
I'm having problems with EP_v1.2.5.4 myself ! Your error message is very familiar !!
Looks as though you (and I) are using this tool to upload products which do not use a 'model' reference. It would appear from comments I've had to my own query, that EP_v1.2.5.4 does NOT support the import into the database of products where no model is defined ! Also, the replies I've received indicate (allegedly?) that even the 'paid' version has its own problems which the developer is trying to solve !
Where do we go from here ? - Sorry, still waiting for guidance - will let you know if I can find out more ! Good luck !
Re: Easy Populate support
The model field cannot be left blank (as far as I know).
If you think about it, it makes sense. The model number is used like a 'primary key' within a database, a unique identifier if you will. How would Easy Populate know which record to update if you don't supply it with a model number?

The ill fated ver 2.75 would allow the use of the product id as the main key field from an option in configuration. But this version is plagued with problems and not recommended for use if you can still find it.
I believe Langer added product_id as the main key in the paid version that can be selected in the config panel, but I do not know if the product model is still required at some point. Actually, from a developer point of view, the product_id is the correct key to use as it is THE key that zencart uses to link product data between databases. But identifying products from an automatically assigned digit when you are editing data is troublesome.
The product model is not actually needed to run zencart. I don't remember off the top of my head, but i believe zencart has an option to allow only unique product models... but don't take my word for it. Product model is keyed in the database, but this is for searching purposes only. product_id is the key that links the various databases together.
Perhaps Langer or someone familiar with the paid version can verify that you can run EP (paid) without model numbers?

ps---has anyone come up with a solution for incorporating product types into easypopulate?
What was the fix for this? I'm getting this error when I do a search, so I don't think it has anything to do with EP which seems to be working fine.
Thanks.

After playing around with the file permissions on my Windows temp folder and then some help from Bjorn I managed to resolve this issue.
And guess what... it has nothing to do with the Windows temp folder at all!
I simply changed the permissions on the temp folder within the root of my website and everything seemed to work! :)

I opened the exported EP file in excel and added those number manually. Then imported using EP and it worked.

I'm getting the same error and I have model numbers in my excel file.
Re: Easy Populate support
Also, when I import the file, it creates a category for each manufacturer for some reason.
For instance, I try to import a list of cameras, and it creates a category for every manufacturer with "cameras" as the subcategory.
